They finally managed to play on our nostagia, NOT by reminded us of early Star Wars but reminded us of our early reactions to Star Wars. We can relate to these character because they are doing what we hopped to do: be pulled out of our hum drum childhood and having a great adventure. I find myself rooting for the kids to have a great adventure. And I hope they do
If Star Wars wasn’t already dead I could see this being somewhat of a success with younglings. It wasn’t horrible, but it’s predictable and obviously made for kids. I was also constantly informed that it was ripping off The Goonies scene after scene. And no I didn’t spot Urkel lol
I’m always here for you, Jay! Unfortunately I don’t have Disney+ anymore (it’s really expensive here), but on the other hand I have always liked Jude Law also. The main question is for me, will this show gives some deeper background to that is already existing?
I watched Echo Base Network and WDW Pro review this last night, they seemed overall way more positive than I expected... it's not gonna save Star Wars but it's at the very least a decent show for kids for its fun factor and is competently made, not woke.
You already know i’m watching this to support my boy Jay. 😎 This show has intense Kiddie Krap radiation emanating from it. I’d need a radiation suit to watch it. Instead of the elephant, just call him Max Rebo. 🤷🏻♂️ Man, and Jaleel White’s in it? This is putting his career into the negative.
Reminds me of the last Ghost busters Frozen empire. Kids finding stuff like the ecto wagen. 9:01 Steve Eurkle is on the left side with ligtbulb eyepatch.
I didn't see anything in any of the trailers of this show that interested me enough to try to watch this. Definitely not worth subscribing to Disney+, I can buy some chocolate with that money.
I just came here to support your channel. Neither am I going to watch this show nor am I gonna watch anything Disney SW will ever release. I just want to see Disney burn. This review isnt as negative as I hoped to be but I'm sure Disney will find a way to ruin this show. They always do :D
I was kinda halfway paying attention while doing something else and then I hear "and that's how episode 2 ends" Me: "wait, when did he start talking about episode 2? I thought he was still talking about episode 1"
Just looking at this promotional shot ya have at the start and my god I didnt think I could be any less interested than I already was. Just looks like random kids sci fi
Family fun =yes Win back fans =No SM-33 = Mr. Smee (Captian Hooks first mate) It's a good family show, definitely copying beat for beat the old Amblin movies.
Im definitely way to jaded from the last few years to see anything in it,also I dont watch much so watching a show aimed at kids probably isnt going to do a thing for me,im sure people would say that about Clone wars but there was alot more decapitations in that show than any "kids" programming I watched as a kid lol
Honestly, this might be it. I liked the opening, the meat of the story took a minute to get going, but there’s definitely something much bigger afoot and a lot I’m eager to find out about. I think it’ll be good.
Good review. I feel like there some context missing about EP 1 & 2 story. However, I'm happy to see people being positive about what's been presented so far.
This was dry white toast served with a bowl of plain cream of wheat. I don’t think this is gonna connect with kids. To get kids 8-12 you gotta make something that appeals to kids 13-17. Kinda like Goonies did !There’s nothing in this that says to kids those ages that this is cool or edgy for that age group and there is nothing visually or in dialogue that is even remotely trendsetting. As for adults, not referring to you Jay, I feel sorry for any adults that have been gearing up to debate this show or review it for other adults. This is not what this show is for and you all may stand down. Hell the lady from Goonies was more rough and tumble than the pirates they dreamed up here lol
Bottoms line this is the only Disney Star Wars show that my kids actually found fun and interesting. Outside of Andor and Mandolorian season 2 this is better than anything else on Disney +
The problem with this show has nothing to do with the show and everything to do with #Lucasfilm and #DisneyPlus, I've been wanting this show for years (or something like it), but I don't want to pay gor Disney plus to get one show. Ever since #GinaCarano I've stopped caring about Disney Plus, I can't wait to watch this show! but I won't be watching it on Disney Plus, even though I would have, if it came out during Mando season 2.
According to Screen Crush, there are 111 Easter eggs in these episodes. That’s what Star Wars has come to be, just a continuous procession of Easter eggs, nostalgia nuggets, memberberries, and other forms of fan service to prop up a poorly lazily written story instead of doing their due diligence and write a compelling story.
It's a decent story so far. Not complex, but it's aimed at kids and parents who were kids when the 80s movies came out. Pretty well written. Time will tell if it gets better or worse, but it looks like something Favreau steered and Kennedy stayed away from.
None of the fan service gets in the way of the story, however. They're there, but not put in there in a way that waves it in front of you like a red cape in front of a bull saying, "See this? Remember this?" It's just stuff that's there just because it's there. No effort to call attention to most of it at all. Which is as it should be for Easter eggs.
@@charliedehn3587 I was a kid back in the ‘80s and this is definitely not for me. I hated movies and TV shows with kids in them around the time I turned ten which is how old I was when Star Wars came out in 1977 and I was very glad there weren’t any kids in that movie.
Oh, this is out now, huh? I kinda forgot that I'd even heard that this was going to be a thing after I saw a video maybe a few weeks ago about a trailer that had come out for it. Had never heard of it before that video. Haven't seen any mention of it between that video and now.
I'm shocked....this is the best star wars product we've gotten since Mando season 2! Good ol space adventure that is actually fun and the characters are good too. Very refreshing after the crap that Asohka, Fett, Obi Wan, Mando 3, and Acolyte all sucked
The crazy thing Jay that people aren't mentioning is that this show is a rip off of the original trilogy. "The member berries are strong with this one..." It's Force Awakens rip offs all over again. The opening scene boarding the ship is clearly the opening of the original Star Wars, there are so many similarities between the two sequences. And the speeder bikes in the forest are clearly meant to make you remember the speeder bike chase in Return of the Jedi. I would even say that there are some Empire moments here too. And that's just the first episode. Well, at least the speeder bikes here are a million times better than Book of Boba Fett.
I really think this is where Disney should have started once they acquired the Star Wars IP. It's sorta their bread and butter. But here we are, following on the heels of Acolyte, peak trash and damage to the franchise. I am however watching this and its fun, harmless, nostalgic. They havent messed with anything core to the franchise. Im okay with people being force sensitive. It doesn't mean they are a Jedi.
I watched it. A lot better than Acolyte (not difficult). Star Wars is for 12 year olds (dixit GL), and I was an adult when it first came out in 1977, so I thought, why not. Give it a go and see. It was watchable, quite cute, and it felt like Star Wars. So, for the moment I will continue watching.
Dang, we canceled our Disney+ subscription a long time ago. This has me curious, like maybe I could show this to my son, but I'm afraid they're going to mess it up like they always do.
I watched it last night i didn’t had hye or any expectations about it Kinda goonies/adventure look beside using the word jedi it could have passed as an ordinary show. I watch it to fill my curiosity so far its okay can’t wait to see more.
I was waiting to hear if it was like the typical woke agenda pushing crap or not. I have given up on Disney Star Wars but I have hope that one day peace will come back to the galaxy. I might give it a watch before I let my kids watch still. Thanks for the review it really helped.
I mean its actually kinda good and fun. And not that much feminism, but if your watch the dynamic in the kids. Fern is the strong girl architype. Kb is somewhere neutral. She probably a little scared of Fern it seems. But she is the friend trying to keep Fern it is trouble. The boys is kind weak, but Wim send to have a strange he havent shown yet. Neo or what the elefant boy name is, is similar to Kb, trying to keep Wim out of trouble, but they turned down the guys to elevate the two girls. Thats feminism. The boys gets blamed by the girls, but when the weakest boy get on Fern side in whats happening, they ask only blame Wim. I do however like the boy girl banther with the who is dumbest. I mean thats kinda like reality. I also like that One of the boys is the reason their adventure is starting, not really the girls. The boys are the agents driving the story forward, just like it should be. Boys cant stop pushing buttons. So at this Pirate port you can really see that Fern maybe not that tough like she seems to be and Wim night be braver. He wont even scared in the port he wants to explore. Fern however seems to be keen on getting home and she did really look scared.. so maybe wim will take more place from Fern as the story progresses and gets equal to Fern. Just now its better than I thought it should be. And yes its riminiscent of the Goonies, but also JJ Abrams Super8, don't remember the third movie... Well it was this movie about a gang of kids Saving Earth from Aliens... Don't t remember it's name.
I’m going to stick to my opinion from two month ago. It’s going to be a terrible Star Wars show but a decent kids show. Visually, it looks good. Great Breakdown and reaction video Jay.
Me and my family loved it! Great fun for all ages. Captain Brutus is awesome! Definitely got that Amblin vibe! The show was fun and exciting! Looking forward to the next episode.

Just here to support Jay, I thought I heard you on WDW but the screen is so small I couldn’t see the avatars but knew it was you, thanks Jay

Yes. That is exactly my feelings on it as well. As a grown adult I totally enjoyed the first episode.

I couldn’t finish episode 1…it was extremely dull. Only watching this because I support my boy Jay!
So excited to learn about the kid with 2 moms! Not.

I enjoyed the show for what it is. It’s fun. Urekle was a surprise but I laughed when I saw him. lol
