Good tutorial, I liked the docking arm for the rover that's a cool idea. What altitude can you get a prop plane like this up to before you start to lose power or become unstable? Is it running off of just batterys or a fuel cell?
Thank you. This plane doesn't use the electric motors. The R121 Turboshaft Engine uses liquid fuel and has it's own air intakes. So this plane won't work on Eve or Duna. The Mk3 parts created a lot of drag. Like the C-130, I estimate the top attitude around 6000m.
Excellent tutorial, thank you. For some reason your way of getting to the final configuration avoids what I think may be a bug where the CCW propellers produce significantly less thrust than the CW ones. Also I learned for the first time how to map the KAL-1000 to axes.
@@Echo3 how do you mirror the propellers so that they go from right handed propellers to left handed propellers? I can flip them all day long but they’re still right-handed propellers when I want them to be left hand propellers and they just don’t work.
Thanks for this tutorial man, I still have a few questions though. 1: My plane keeps banking to the right, is this normal and how can I fix that? 2: I can't seem to turn the propellers like you said how to. For the rest, the vid is excellent!
Are you using one or two rotors? If you are only using one, then the torque from the single rotor will cause the craft bank. This is one of my earliest tutorials, so I don't think I explained things overly well. I like to bind an action group to rotor torque. This should get them started and help you control your throttle. Don't hesitate to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer them. I'll also active on Reddit and the KSP forum with the same user name.
@@AnonymousUserInUse electric won't affect how they operate, just what resource they need to run. If you are able to show me pictures of your designs, I could probably give you pointers more easily.
Without seeing the craft, it can be hard to say exactly. I'm active on the KSP Reddit and forum. It could be an issue with your landing gear, vertical stabilizer or how you set up your propellers.
What exactly do you mean by "how do counter rotating props work?" Have an equal number of rotors that spin in opposite directions will cancel out their torque and keep the aircraft stable along the roll axis. This tutorial demonstrates a method for making a type of variable pitch rotor blades, but you can simplify the design by skipping that part. That's what I do in this other tutorial. th-cam.com/video/eMZSisbhL6A/w-d-xo.html
Pretty sure you meant c-130 or KC-130. There is no such thing as a k-130. The k in front of the c is a designator for the different setups for the c-130

I ment to say "K." It is a Kerbal Kargo plane. I understand the USAF system. This was an attempt at humor.
