Welcome to our first review video, still super strange talking in front of the camera but hopefully it will get easier the more we do it.

I've always hated using a GoPro and have never been super happy with the options and footage that come out of them when traveling. We decided to pickup a Seafrogs Underwater Housing for the Sony A7Riii/A7iii and give it a test in Hawaii.
Not going to lie, this housing was pretty impressive for the price and I think you'll find it more than does the job.

They also have a vacuum port option ($120). It's pricey but peace of mind and helps with the fogging issue.

Also, when you take the ports off, there should be a securing screw to make sure you don't accidentally unscrew it.

02:11 I came here, as is said below, because of lack of information. I have a different Sony the A7SII and on the camera body there is a push button on the top to release the mode wheel, not having lock release on housing makes the mode wheel pointless, I plan to mainly shoot video so I guess I'll never use the mode wheel. I guess there is no mode locking button on the other A7 cameras? 04:56 That's the wrong way round on my housing too! only worked it out by looking inside and it became obvious. Dhoh! ... And Thanks!

Hey, i'm looking to buy this housing but on their website it says -
Some camera functions are not available inside the unit:
    - Front Dial below shutter release button
    - Joystick button
You say you get access to all the controls? Do you get access to the joystick? that's the one I want to be able to use.
    Cheers!

    • @DakotaJ666

I should update this review to include which buttons and functions cannot be accessed. I just pulled out the housing and the joystick is not accessible but the buttons on the back scroll wheel , up down left right, are. The front dial is also not accessible. I hope that wasn't confusing haha!

Hey so I purchased this housing literally right after I saw your video haha. I am setting everything up now and I cannot for the life of me get the lens off to put on the dome port. Thanks!

    • @DakotaJ666

It is ridiculously tight! Try pressing in the red button and turning the opposite direction than the printed instructions on the lens housing say. It’s gonna feel wrong but it should start turning. If you can’t get it, my wife turned the lens housing while I held it. Hope this helps!

Swoon Creative Collective there is only a screw and tab inside! I just bought this and it arrived 15 minutes ago. Tried my tamron 28-75 in the one it came with. Doesn’t work. • @DakotaJ666

Underwater cases need a very different kind of review than this so I hope you upload in- depth video(s) on this case ASAP. You never state when vignetting occurs. At 16mm? At 20mm? 24mm? Does it come with extra gaskets? If not, how much are replacement? Is this the same unit sold as a Meikon?
We need better light and we need to see close up what the seals look like on the lens tubing. We need to see it removed and put back on. You almost went there but did not.
At 2:52 there's a vague mention of a "collar". Are you talking about a "wet lens"? Or something else? This alone is an important detail that needs more attention. And we need closeup explanations of that screw and tab.
Is there an issue with the eye-detector being trigger by the cup, thus shutting off the back LCD display? This is a common annoyance with dive cases.
It's really a shame these cases only come in black given the risk of loss, and, that black really heats up in sunlight. Sony already has heat issues. A hot case or hot camera taken under often results in internal condensation, which can trip that alarm. Yellow was the standard case color back in the day. And it should be again. If you lose it in the water, yellow shows up. And yellow keeps it cooler topside.
