When I met Volo I thought “yep he’s a villain.” And I thought like that so much throughout the game until he brought me to the ancient retreat I trusted him and ofc he decides to betray me lmao
Don't have an Empoleon on my team... Can still beat this guy but with level 70s all from the obsidian fieldlands bar one being a Garchomp which I caught as a Gible in the Coronet Highlands but thing is wasn't expecting to fight Giratina (Altered Form) then Giratina (Origin Form) but I know I can beat them. i want to capture every other Pokemon before fighting them again plus Volo. Edit: My team includes Luxray, Samurott,Espeon,Rapidash,Starptor and Garchomp. Everyone on my team is almost level 80 except for Garchomp who is level 68 right now. P.S Espeon is kinda broken. Grit items are also kind of broken. Also My Espeon was my highest level and could two shot Giratina (Altered Form). So yeah Espeon with high SpAttack is especially good against Giratina provided its fast enough. It also could've ohko'd Giratina (Orign Form) but I kind of didn't think it could but was proven wrong by the normal Shadow Ball getting it down to very low health. So yeah Espeon hits like a truck.
I beat him on the first try thanks to the alpha clefable from fabled springs. Feed it some grit, particularly for its hp, def, and spdef. That pink chonky fairy soloed both giratina battles with calm mind, moon blast, and draining kiss.
Dialga is great to use vs his Roserade to tank a bunch of hits and heal up for Giratina. You should also be able to buy max revives from the vendors at that point of the game too.
It's Been 11 months since this video released, i remember i used it for my first time with volo, and just today beat my 2nd playthrough using your guide again. Thank you for All the Effort for the Video !!! :)
I tried to beat him without using healing items, and shuffled my team around a bunch. Finally I caved and bought a bunch of full revives and beat him first try. This fight is definitely difficult no doubt.
Thank you so much, this was a perfect guide! I wasn't quite as high level as you but I followed your team and moves and managed to beat him quite easily :) I did make sure to have max revives to make healing easier.
It took me nearly 10 times to beat Volo. One strategy I learned before I beat Volo is to first have my Pokemon at level 80 or above. The Pokemon I took into this battle were Cresselia, Luxray, Raichu, Heatran, Palkia, and Dialga. I started out with Palkia, using his most powerful moves to one shot most of his Pokemon. The next thing I did when I needed to revive and heal Pokemon was to send out Cresselia and use that Pokemon as a shield because her Lunar Blessing move makes her capable restoring her HP to maximum after taking a hit that will reduce it to half. After taking down Volo's six Pokemon, I used Dialga and Palkia's more powerful moves to take on Giratina. I knew that if they failed, I could switch back to Cresselia to restore them. Having Cresselia on my team and having my Pokemon leveled high enough were more than enough to ensure my victory over Volo.
I lost to him 4 times before developing a good team and strat to him. In case anyone wants to use my team it was: Typhlosion lv. 71 Darkrai lv. 70 (specifically for giratina) Empoleon lv.68 Zoroark lv.67 Luxray lv.68 (with play rough for spiritomb) Gliscor lv.66 (Empoleon is good to stall against togekiss so you can revive teammates before giratina comes out if needed)
My team to beat him Cresselia lv 70 ( it’s tanky has a good heal move so it gives me time to use revives) Alpha Lucario lv 80 Luxray lv 75 Regigigas lv 70 Gliscor lv 88 ( is my highest level Pokémon he tanked so many hits while I was reviving half my team and did good damage to lucario) Dialga lv 70 (to use against giratina) It wasn’t the smartest team but the gang pulled off an amazing fight
My team was Garchomp (Cause it’s Garchomp 😂) gengar with dazzling gleam to handle spiritomb and giratina if it lived the first fight, glaceon to take hits and handle Garchomp, dialga to handle giratina, scizor as a counter to togekiss and heatran. I had a dusknoir that I was gonna use against it because of the fond memories I had with it, but I went with gengar instead because he hits like a truck, and is much much faster even if dusknoir is bulkier. Also dusknoir couldn’t learn any fairy type moves sooo
My team to beat him (Great team, covers every type) Typlosion (Lv. 84) Alpha Garchomp (Lv. 83) Gardevoir (Lv. 83) Electrode (Lv. 84) Alpha Sneasler (Lv. 84) Alpha Zoroark (Lv. 82) I decided to fill up the dex before doing some parts of the story. Ended up making my team 20 levels higher and max stats. One shotted his team.
Man this battle was quite something lol! First attempt I was able to beat his team or so I thought until he pulled out Giratina then he beat me. Second attempt, I beat his team yet again and had 4 Pokemon to deal with Giratina. I beat Giratina and then it decided to transform into its origin form much to my surprise and it then demolished my only remaining Pokemon. So from there I decided to go hyperbolic time chamber training mode and got my Pokemon to lvl 1oo and even then Volo still put up a fight.
Lost to him 20 times in a row cuz of the damn giratina. Then I realized all my mons were 60-70 LOL. But I don’t like how u need to be over leveled to beat him. Giratina is way too op especially how it always turns “obscure” and just when I thought I won, it turned to origin form and u have to fight it ALL OVER AGAIN. Easily the hardest fright in Pokémon history no debate. I also decided not to use dialga or palkia to make it more fun like how I always do in previous games
You don't *have* to be over leveled, but it's definitely a very difficult fight and I'd recommend faster pokemon. I don't know the exact math of the action speed, but with faster pokemon, you're able to switch and still act first. The only mon I had "overleveled" was my Rapidash at level 75 going into this fight and I could reliably switch into it and still get the first hit, if not being able to agile style double hit into another attack. My level 69 Luxray was also fast enough to act after a switch usually. Giratina is definitely annoying because of the obscure effect, but you can trick it out of doing that with a snorlax. Giratina knows Aura Sphere, which would be super effective against snorlax, but snorlax is a tank with a good Sp. def, so a well trained one can tank about 4 of them depending on the style giratina uses. It gives you a little time to revive a couple other pokemon if you need to or you can use high horsepower to get some damage in. My other main pokemon against giratina was sylveon because it can agile calm mind into mystical fire to take very little damage from shadow force as well as reduce giratina's attacks against the next mon you send out. My full team had been Samurott (65), Sylveon (66), Palkia (66), Luxray (69) Rapidash (75) Snorlax (66)
you definitely do NOT disappoint!!! every time i watch your videos - i beat the boss fights like they were nothing. i swear, i feel like they made cynthia and her bloodline SUPER HARD. thank you so much for this video. :)
I did a *lot* of exploring before fighting him, my team was in the 70s, consisting of Decidueye, Alpha Garchomp, Alpha Walrein, Togekiss, Luxray and Zoroark. Toughest fight by a longshot. Having a lot of coverage moves helps immensely, such as Walrein with Iron Head, since it'll destroy Arcanine easily with a water move, then can pretty easily take care of Roserade (given you survive the hit) with Ice Beam and can cover the Togekiss with Iron Head. Didn't plan for this fight ahead of time, but I think this team worked out pretty well, since I won first try, by the skin of my teeth lmao
Volo is really evil with that ARCEUS hair like come on volo you want others todo your dirty work for you to want to steal our 17plates get your own volo you are a evil monster
I've never been prouder with myself in a Pokemon game than beating Volo after 15 trys with no items, Ursuluna, Sneasler, Avalugg, Electrode, Zororark, & Samurrot was my team, all levels ranging between 62-70. *DO NOT OVER LEVEL OR USE IN GAME ITEMS* it will make it so much more rewarding, I didn't specially craft this team either to beat him, before the games came out I made this list of the 6 pokemon I wanted to use based on all the leaked new forms, this was my playthrough team once I got to the Alabaster Icelands. Good luck to anyone who tries to do this with their team without items, legends, or overleveling!
I was desperately trying to find a way to defeat him and I clicked on this video in expectation of it being trashy and just recommend me six Pokémon without explanation I WAS WRONG Thank you for this guide, it is so well worked out. you didn't leave out a single detail or explanation, you had alternatives to not copy your whole team and it is a great video, just again thank you so much!
Thank you so much !! I was able to beat Volo's 6 main Pokémon on my first try, but then failed afterwards on Giratina because I didn't expect for him to appear haha I will now try to level up my Pokémon and strategize my team better. Your tips are really helpful :)
My brilliant strat: 1. somehow kill volo‘s entire team so 2 Pokémon of mine survive, one being Gardevoir. 2. Go against Giratina with A LOT of revives. 3. wait out his shadow move thingy. 4. revive entire team and heal full while gardevoir tanks with defense buff and only weak moves by giratina. 5. go in second phase and pray I don’t miss all attacks cuz of the smoke. 6. not really profit cuz I used 20+ revives and potions lol.
Did that but with lilligant which is a very surprising pokemon to end up being a tank. When giratina was up I basically spammed victory dance and potions while slowly reviving and healing my entire team. Giratina actually ran out of pp before turning into its origin form so lilligant definitely went above expectations. Team consisted of samurott, infernape, crobat, raichu, lilligant (the mvp) and kleavor. Samurott did all the work in defeating giratina and bringing origin giratina to yellow. Crobat finished it off thanks to aerial ace never missing.
I didn’t even need Dialga, I managed to defeat the last form with Gyarados’ crunch. (I got lucky, he missed 3 attacks in a row.) Thanks for this guide, very helpful!
@@ConCon the crazy thing is my team had 3 ghosts types on it gengar basculegion and typhlosion which probably didn’t help with my chances at beating him
I guess me beating him with no healing items or legendaries, with only half of my base game team knocked out is something of an accomplishment. Granted my team was around levels 73 -- 82 but not knowing anything about the fight and prevailing was amazing
It only took me Lilligant for his main team and Goodra for both Giratina. Though I bet Clefable with calm mind, mystical fire, draining kiss, and drain punch will also work very well.
I used the team used in the video. Although things went differently than what was shown in the video, I still manage to beat him, mostly by spamming Lunar Blessing when Giratina showed up.
I take it back, Volo is evil. Only because he both has 8 pokemon as well as replacing his pokemon with counters for yours. It's really tough. You beat him yet dude?
@@ConCon not yet, im still taking my time through the game. Doing every side quest as the pop. I was 8star before reaching noble arcanie. And my starter was fully evolved before kleavor.
Oh, right. Volo wasn't even a problem to me since I over leveled my pokemon to the 90s. This only happened because I was so invested in completing the pokedex and getting research to level 10. Afterall, this is probably the first ever game that allowed you to catch em all, without needing to by both version of the same game and do trading. Link cable and space-time distortion was one of the best features ever.
I went through Volo on my first attempt with Alpha Froslass, Palkia, Alpha Garchomp, Alpha Infernape, Gardevoir, and Darkrai. I had no idea people were having such a difficult time with him.
Dialga can take out giratina one on one but he was always the only team member that could and since there were two giratinas and changing up my team stopped me beating his first six I just couldnt. But I finally managed to sweep through with sylveon(vs spiritomb), drifblim(vs roserade), and palkia(vs arcanine, togekiss) dying to take out his team members and my newly raised garchomp stomping both his garchomp and lucario to finish the first battle, then agile/strong combo outraging the first giratina. Once that was down it was just the dialga vs giratina one on one for the finish, and two roar of times won the fight. Dialga was level 85, palkia 78, the ninetales I didn't end up even using 75 and sylveon, drifblim and garchomp were level 70, roughly. ...wait, you won by spamming healing items and revives?
@@ConCon amusingly enough on all prior attempts ninetales was a vital part of the team, with type coverage and massive special attack letting him oneshot most anything that wasn't a giratina, but on the final battle I ended up so focused on keeping the heavy hitters alive that drifblim with mystical fire and garchomp took down the enemies ninetales did on prior runs. And of course he can't really do anything to giratina, so my successful attempt didn't end up using one of my best team members at all.
this man deserve 5 million subs thank you and consider using max revives you can get them from the guy at the crafting recipes shop hes at the other side of the xp candy shop
I didn’t have much of a problem with the fight against his team and Giratina. What I used was a Darkrai. With Dark Void and HEX. I also had another Darkrai randomly traded to me, I taught it Hex and ONE-SHOT Giratina (Both Phases). This is only if you have BD or SP save files. If you haven’t beaten Volo yet, use Darkrai with Hex and Dark Void. Dark Void is more accurate than Hypnosis, so don’t bother using something like Drifblim. Hex does 2x damage if the Pokémon is inflicted with a status condition. Combine that with Giratina’s Ghost Weakness. And the STRONG STYLE version of it. If you send out Darkrai, Volo’s Giratina may use Aura Sphere instead of Shadow Force. Strong Style 4x Hex is overpowered.
I somehow beat this third try. The first try I was severely underleveled, the second try Giratina got me, and the third try I barely beat Giratina. Edit: Thought I should say that my entire team was around level 77, and my team was Decidueye, Typhlosion, Samurott, Zoroark, Braviary ane Goodra. Honestly don't know how I won.
One Pokemon I would recommend is Alolan Ninetales! If you train the Vulpix up you get from the quest it actually is an asset against four of his Pokemon as well as Giratina.
That battle... I barely survived Giratina's first form after being surprised by the lack of chances to heal up, considering the game was pretty generous with healing before. In the end I beat it on the second try with my playthrough team, around Level 70, Thyphlosion, Staraptor, Luxray, Roserade, Gardevoir and Walrein, and only due to sheer luck. Giratina Origin Form missed a move, giving me the chance to finish it, in the end two of my Pokemon were alive but barely... I usually don't use Full Revives in Pokemon, in this case, I had no choice.
Managed to get him on my 3rd try using my story team limiting my self to 3 healing items, since I'm pretty sure that's how he uses, didn't use all 3 healing items tho. My team's levels were mid 70's with one very low 80's. It's probably important that before my 3ed attempt, instead of increasing my levels, I increased each of my Pokemons's EL to 10 in their best stats. It was definitely one of the coolest fights in all of Pokémon, it was super fun for the most part. My team was Decidueye (Grass/Fighting) Overqwil (Poison/Dark) Basculegion (Water/ Ghost) Goodra (Dragon/ Steel) Zoroark (Normal/Ghost) Arcanine (Fire/ Rock)
ngl I had a hard time but that's because I was stubborn I used no healing items, my team was lv 65-73 sooo the layout was Manaphy, Zoroark, Samurott, Dialga, Kleavor, creselia NGL Manaphy was absolutely clutch and is the reason why I won
my over-leveled zoroark with maxed EV’s practically took him down alone, no one could out-speed him, my froslass, or my basculegion with their priority moves. Poor man barely got to move it surprised me seeing how many people are struggling with the new battle mechanics. I count myself lucky that I just finished playing Monster Hunter Stories 2 a few months ago. I like how creative you can get with move-sets in this game, you can really find a way to win with whoever you want which is the best part to me.
OMG TYSM YOU REALLY HELPED ME! (Cresselia did it all tlike the whole Giratina fight but thanks! If I didn't have Rhyperior, Gardevior, or gyarados I would've been stuck on it.)
"if you don't have Cresselia you can use Chansey or Blissey as an alternative" You cannot get to this point of the game without having caught Cresselia smh
My team that I use is. Togekiss. Garchamp, typlosion, toxicroak, zorark, riolu (evolution),. The technique here is to fully ev train your Pokémon. Make sure you have bulky pokemon.
@@ConCon yea I wasn’t prepared and I could never even get to garchomp then when I finally did I just kept getting killed by garchomp then finally I used spatial rend with palkia and beat garchomp
this fight was very infuriating for me, but i beat him on the fourth try, after switching up my team and actually buying revives 😅 he just kept getting lucky with crits EVERYTIME. also, cresselia was also my tank during this fight, absolute MVP
I just beat it now, I used some of your tips but put a little bit of my spin to it. I didn’t really train like goku, my starting 6 was cresselia, dialga, palkia, heatran, garchomp & my very first Pokémon decidueye. All under level 70. What I did was go to the village and buy the max revive recipe and the rest was history. I didn’t even use my 6th Pokémon either.
I'm about to reach this battle. This is the first Pokemon battle that I am actually terrified about. EDIT: I had nothing to be afraid of. I won the battle against Volo on my 1st try.
Volo beat me 5 or 8 times and all my pokemon were mid-70's and all there attacks were mastered but after watching the video I realized i had a lot of work to do to beat him, wish me luck.
My team I used was Hisuian Typhlosion with shadow ball and 10 EV SPA) Cresselia (the mvp for giratina) Azelf (can do chip damage) Mesprit (our death fodder to heal) Hisuian Dialga (deals with garchomp well and maybe giratina if it’s still alive) Regigigas (deals with the pesky togekiss) Originally I was using heat ran instead of H-Typhlosion but I realized Typhlosions SPA was better so it could deal with it better (if you picked a different starter other than H-Typhlosion you can get the it from laventon just level it up)
This battle was quite a struggle, but the main way i beat it is when Volo sent out his roserade, i countered by tanking all the spike attacks with Dialga, because it has so much hp and roserade cant so much to it in any instance. While dialga was tanking i was using the extra time to revive all my KO’d pokemon and healing dialga whenever it got to lower hp. After i ko’d roserade, i had more than enough pokemon to smash giratina both times, thus beating Volo with little struggle.
I was humbled by Volo. Tried to beat him with a team of lvl 55-70 Pokemon lol. Going to try this method and catch/train these Pokemon. Thanks for the tips.
I managed to defeat Volo in my first try, just like I did with Cynthia in Diamond. Giratina, however, mopped the floor with my team. That's why I decided to get Togekiss: it's immune to dragon and ground type attacks, so Dragon Pulse and Earth Power were not a threat. Aura Sphere is resisted 4 times, so not much damage there. The only real (but not quite) danger was Shadow Force. I just saved Togekiss from my battle with Volo in my second try and I defeated Giratina easily.
i accidently over leveled my pokemon while chancy gring so my cresselia survived andi just beat it my own but you did help me choose the right pokemon ty!!!
I went against the grain and used ALL THREE final form Hisuian starters Typhlosion (the one I chose for the main story), Samurott & Decidueye, along with Alpha Gardevoir, Alpha Garchomp and used Luxray with the moves Play Rough and Crunch for coverage.
When I beat him my team had Dialga Palkia Regigigas ( tanks Girarina attacks well enough to revive Pokemon) Alpha Mamoswine Alpha Probopass Cresselia All of them were between 70-72
My first run my starter was my last Pokémon and got the last hit on his 6th Pokémon with minima health. There I was, thinking how poetic that ending was…then BOOM *insert evil villain smirk* out comes giratina. Crying commences. Best but also most frustrating fight in any of the games to this point!
@@ConCon thanks for responding, I don’t know if you mentioned it in another video or not but I’ve since beat Volo and the biggest difference maker was actually using the grit pebbles, rocks, etc to massively boost my teams stats so they weren’t all getting one shot when he switched out
I don’t know, I’ve expected so much from this battle, yet it was so easy for me. I’ve got there with my Cresselia on lvl 86 and she basically 1 hit all of his Pokémon. Only had to use 2 max hp pots and I didn’t have to use any other Pokémon but her. When it ended I was like: “so… that’s all?”. Watching many other videos like yours make me think I shouldn’t have leveled her nor used the two HP pots, if I really wanted a challenge. :/ not even the rest of the game was fun. I’ve caught Giratina after 2 hits, using Cresselia as well, and I don’t know man, I think i did it wrong.
Gardevoir (Alpha) Ursaring (Alpha) (Play Rough eviserates Garchomp and Spiritomb due to fairy weakness. Didn't have an extra peat block so had to make do.) Garchomp (Alpha) (Iron Head slaps togekiss.) Hisuian Sneasel (Alpha) (puts 3 of his pokemon in check.) Staraptor (Alpha) (Counters Hisuian Arcanine if it lives after a stab Rock Slide) Mamoswine (Alpha) (EZ claps Garchomp) My team used to beat Volo. Still a pain in the rear cause of the free turn system. Altered form is more bulky and Origin form is more offensive. farm up stardust and use the money to buy Max Revives. Spiritomb (HP Tank) Togekiss (Special Wall) Lucario (Mixed attacker) Hisuian Arcanine (Physical attacker) Roserade (Special attacker) Garchomp (Wall buster) Giratina Alt - Alpha Aura (Bulky tank with fighting and ground coverage) Giratina Origin - Alpha Aura (Offensive wall breaker that will pull all stops to DESTROY your team.) Normal, Rock, Ice and Steel (Forces Aura Sphere) Dragon (Forces Dragon Claw) Psychic and Ghost (Forces Shadow Force) Fire, Rock, Steel, Electric, Poison (Forces Earth Power) -Prioritizes Aura Sphere to bypass obscured status. Highly Recommend using Dark Pulse if you want to take out Giratina effectively.
In my rerun, half of my team matched Volo’s 😂 I brought my own Togekiss (great for his Spiritomb and Garchomp), Garchomp and Lucario to the battle. The rest, though, were Dialga, Magnezone (decent counter to his Togekiss, but watch out for Garchomp’s Earth Power) and Cresselia.
The battle was beyond easy. lilligant one shot everyone of volo's pokemon with victory dance, and goodra tanked both giratina fights with shelter and ko'd them. My pokemon were somewhat underleveled too.
I managed to scrape by and beat him first try with: Hisuian Lilligant, Hisuian Typhlosion, Porygon-Z (didn't actually use it), Kleavor, Manaphy (ended up nearly soloing Giratina with the help of a bunch of hyper potions), and Hisuian Goodra. My pokemon ranged from levels 72 (Porygon-Z) to 76 (Hisuian Typhlosion). All except for Lilligant and Porygon-Z had fully maxed out stat levels. This fight was significantly tougher than Cynthia in BDSP who I just used switching between Dialga and Togekiss to stall out all of her Garchomp's Poison Jabs by switching between the two, then destroyed it with my Togekiss, couldn't really do that with Volo especially since I didn't know his team. I'd personally recommend Spiritomb or Hisuian Zoroark for Giratina so that he can set up Obscurement with Phantom Force, also negates his Aura Sphere so you only have to worry about Dragon Pulse and Earth Power, of the two obviously Spiritomb is tankier and Hisuian Zoroark is more offensive, Hisuian Zoroark should be faster than both Giratina forms so you'll get at least one if not two super effective attacks off, even better if you can sack a pokemon that will guarantee a status condition on Giratina first then just use Hex twice.
And now I start the grind, I tried to beat him several times (first time with my normal team only managed to get to the first giratina, second time using the new legendaries you catch, made it to second giratina) Btw my normal team is: Monferno, Luxray, Gardevoir, Gengar, and then recently Dialga and Palkia Edit 1: Im currently overleveling a lot more than you show, I'm aiming for level 100. Edit 2: I completely leveled up to 100 and soloed with my Cresselia
I recommend the ghost type for giratina is zoroark, you can make it learn a full ghost type moveset BUT... it can learn one move that can frostbite and double power if the pokemon has an effect
It only took me two times to beat him and Giratina with a team of Gardevoir, H Typhlosion, Golem, Electivire, Floatzel, and H Goodra. My team is mostly levels 75-79. Not to mention, I have lots of Max Revives in ready (used 5 of them) Lastly, Golem, H Goodra, and Floatzel are my walls so that I can revive H Typhlosion and Gardevoir.
Got a question If I take pokemon from Arceus to Scarlet and Violet, Hyper Train them, then Send them back to Legends Arceus Will they're stats be affected there?
I like tryed this battle over and over for like 7 times and i think ill spend the next 4 day to train these Pokémon. Awesome guide btw And one question....where is possible to find gardevoir?
When I met Volo I thought “yep he’s a villain.” And I thought like that so much throughout the game until he brought me to the ancient retreat I trusted him and ofc he decides to betray me lmao
Yep he was so suspicious
Didn't see it coming... the video was a surprise, I'm like 2 missions away from this 😭
my EXACT thoughts the whole game
I knew I’d have to fight Beni too, ever since the first encounter
OMG SAME HE GAVE OFF SUS VIBES
This was the hardest battle ever! Didnt help that all my pokemon were mid-60s. This guide was so helpful! I used Empoleon instead of Gyarados.
Perfect replacement, glad it helped!
Edit:
My team includes Luxray, Samurott,Espeon,Rapidash,Starptor and Garchomp.
Same all my pokemon were underleveled. Mine were all 59
@@ConCon I used palkia instead of gyrados
Typhlosion, Lucario, Sylveon, Empoleon, Gardevoir, Luxray
Best level was 71. Worst was 60
Volo was my fav throughout the game. I knew his curiosity was misplaced tho, waaay to suspicious
Yeah he was always so suspicious
He was SuSsy
SUS
i was so happy when he betrayed me because he talked way too much throughout the game also i disliked his animation
I accidentally ran into a space distortion
I beat him on the first try thanks to the alpha clefable from fabled springs. Feed it some grit, particularly for its hp, def, and spdef. That pink chonky fairy soloed both giratina battles with calm mind, moon blast, and draining kiss.
Nice!
Pink chonky fairy 💀🤣🤣💀💀
Dialga is great to use vs his Roserade to tank a bunch of hits and heal up for Giratina. You should also be able to buy max revives from the vendors at that point of the game too.
Yes thats a great idea
Tip: dont rely on Dialga's Roar of time or Palkia's Spacial rend to finish off Giratina because they miss more than half of the time
Fair enough
Man I must be lucky then😅
It's Been 11 months since this video released, i remember i used it for my first time with volo, and just today beat my 2nd playthrough using your guide again. Thank you for All the Effort for the Video !!! :)
Glad to help you with it
I tried to beat him without using healing items, and shuffled my team around a bunch. Finally I caved and bought a bunch of full revives and beat him first try. This fight is definitely difficult no doubt.
My team was Blissey, Rhyperior, Goodra, Snorlax, Infernape, and Garchomp.
Definitely a good team there too
That's too relatable
@@ConConthis Team really helped with my Gyarados going first annihilating some of his Pokémon
@@TheProstateMan how did you get the full revives if volo was the one who sold them? 🥲 I dont have any, pls help
Thank you so much, this was a perfect guide! I wasn't quite as high level as you but I followed your team and moves and managed to beat him quite easily :) I did make sure to have max revives to make healing easier.
I'm glad it helped, good job!
Nice work on beating Volo, its the toughest battle I've had to do as well. Cresselia is a life saver
I lost to him 4 times before developing a good team and strat to him. In case anyone wants to use my team it was:
Typhlosion lv. 71
Darkrai lv. 70 (specifically for giratina)
Empoleon lv.68
Zoroark lv.67
Luxray lv.68 (with play rough for spiritomb)
Gliscor lv.66
(Empoleon is good to stall against togekiss so you can revive teammates before giratina comes out if needed)
Nice, good job! I almost used Gliscor as well
My team to beat him
Cresselia lv 70 ( it’s tanky has a good heal move so it gives me time to use revives)
Alpha Lucario lv 80
Luxray lv 75
Regigigas lv 70
Gliscor lv 88 ( is my highest level Pokémon he tanked so many hits while I was reviving half my team and did good damage to lucario)
Dialga lv 70 (to use against giratina)
It wasn’t the smartest team but the gang pulled off an amazing fight
W team, boxing the starter is mad disrespect.
My team to beat him (Great team, covers every type)
Typlosion (Lv. 84)
Alpha Garchomp (Lv. 83)
Gardevoir (Lv. 83)
Electrode (Lv. 84)
Alpha Sneasler (Lv. 84)
Alpha Zoroark (Lv. 82)
I decided to fill up the dex before doing some parts of the story. Ended up making my team 20 levels higher and max stats. One shotted his team.
I managed to beat his 7th pokemon and I just remembered feeling “Few. Finally. Almost died!!!” and then it fking transforms.
Yup that was a rough moment for me too
Man this battle was quite something lol!
Yeah he still hits hard no matter your level hahaha
Yea i wonder i kept this battle for last moment and all my team were 80-90 level and still struggling if you dont hit for dragon - fairy weakness
@@100nadzmi Volo is overpowered lol but it made fighting him worth it.
Thank you so much I’ve been stuck trying to beat Volo for months now
You're welcome
Lost to him 20 times in a row cuz of the damn giratina. Then I realized all my mons were 60-70 LOL. But I don’t like how u need to be over leveled to beat him. Giratina is way too op especially how it always turns “obscure” and just when I thought I won, it turned to origin form and u have to fight it ALL OVER AGAIN. Easily the hardest fright in Pokémon history no debate. I also decided not to use dialga or palkia to make it more fun like how I always do in previous games
Then you are going to need one hell of a strategy.
My Walrein was my mvp beating Giratina , I was level 88.
@@Magic-nx2fb Ty for the tips
you definitely do NOT disappoint!!! every time i watch your videos - i beat the boss fights like they were nothing. i swear, i feel like they made cynthia and her bloodline SUPER HARD. thank you so much for this video. :)
Glad you like them!
Just did this the old fashioned way…Overleveling😎😎😎
Lol nice
Very nice, the best way to win
I pretty much knew Volo was bad from the beginning.
Nice
I KNOW THAT TO HE IS REALLY MEAN HE WITH NEVER MEET ARCEUS WITH THAT ATTITUDE AND GIRATINA DOES NOT HAVE A CHANCE WITH ARCEUS CAUSE IT TO STRONG
Volo is really evil with that ARCEUS hair like come on volo you want others todo your dirty work for you to want to steal our 17plates get your own volo you are a evil monster
Thank you so mcuh! You idea to bring Cresselia for my team was amazing! She was my winning factor!
Cresselia is so good here
I've never been prouder with myself in a Pokemon game than beating Volo after 15 trys with no items, Ursuluna, Sneasler, Avalugg, Electrode, Zororark, & Samurrot was my team, all levels ranging between 62-70.
Wow, that's quite a challenge to do. Good job
did it too, hisuian goodra clutching it out in the end
15 tries insane
I took 168
You lot wanted an actual challenge in a Pokémon game and ohoho you got one.
Yep
Thanks so much I was struggling with beating him and I used ur team and it really helped
Awesome!
I was desperately trying to find a way to defeat him and I clicked on this video in expectation of it being trashy and just recommend me six Pokémon without explanation
I WAS WRONG
Thank you for this guide, it is so well worked out. you didn't leave out a single detail or explanation, you had alternatives to not copy your whole team and it is a great video, just again thank you so much!
Thanks, I'm glad it was better than your expectation
Volo: kicks my ass
Whitney: Finally a worthy opponent
also Whitney: Gets destroyed.
Lol nice
Thank you so much !! I was able to beat Volo's 6 main Pokémon on my first try, but then failed afterwards on Giratina because I didn't expect for him to appear haha
I will now try to level up my Pokémon and strategize my team better. Your tips are really helpful :)
My brilliant strat:
1. somehow kill volo‘s entire team so 2 Pokémon of mine survive, one being Gardevoir.
Hahaha yeah there's that way to cling on to dear life
Did that but with lilligant which is a very surprising pokemon to end up being a tank.
Bro your guide was so helpful right after I used your strat I won it took me over 20 tries before this video
You can also grind by spamming roar of time/spacial rend against wenton. You don't get as much exp but you can do it absentmindedly
I can beat all 4 of Zisu's pokemon with Rhyperior too :D
Bruh I was trying this with a full team of legend Aries and getting stomped this was a massive help thanks a lot!
Glad to help!
Can't wait for dlc having reds ancestor apear using 10 alpha arceus or some shit
DLC will be awesome for this game
Been stuck on this fight for a year and a half now, thank you so much!
I didn’t even need Dialga, I managed to defeat the last form with Gyarados’ crunch. (I got lucky, he missed 3 attacks in a row.)
Thanks for this guide, very helpful!
He missed 3 times? That goes beyond luck hahaha
I lost like 20 times, so many times that ive already completed its pokedex entry
Lol!
@@ConCon Ikr
I beat him without this guide on my 10th attempt this battle was by far the most difficult battle in Pokémon history
Decided to face him with your own team? Nice job for beating him
@@ConCon the crazy thing is my team had 3 ghosts types on it gengar basculegion and typhlosion which probably didn’t help with my chances at beating him
bro when he says "He's probably kicked your ass and he kicked it hard" is the reason why i'm here and why i'm subscribing
Hahaha thanks
thank you so much for helping me beat him this helps so much is you copy his Pokémon and his moves!!!👍
I'm glad I could help you
I guess me beating him with no healing items or legendaries, with only half of my base game team knocked out is something of an accomplishment. Granted my team was around levels 73 -- 82 but not knowing anything about the fight and prevailing was amazing
That is pretty good, guess you had natural counters for his team
It only took me Lilligant for his main team and Goodra for both Giratina. Though I bet Clefable with calm mind, mystical fire, draining kiss, and drain punch will also work very well.
Omg, He's wrecked me 4 times now and I didn't know about the second form!!!! What a terrible time lol.
Yeah the second form caught me off guard on my second try lol
I used the team used in the video. Although things went differently than what was shown in the video, I still manage to beat him, mostly by spamming Lunar Blessing when Giratina showed up.
Good job on the battle!
Kml I remember when I told you he was male Cynthia and you told me he was going to be as hard. Volo op.
That makes sense haha
I went through Volo on my first attempt with Alpha Froslass, Palkia, Alpha Garchomp, Alpha Infernape, Gardevoir, and Darkrai. I had no idea people were having such a difficult time with him.
You had a lot of good typings there, the Ice, fairy and dragon, its perfect for facing Volo
@@ConCon I wish I had gone through Cynthia that fast 😂
That sick twisted smile on Volo's face
I know right
Dialga can take out giratina one on one but he was always the only team member that could and since there were two giratinas and changing up my team stopped me beating his first six I just couldnt.
Buying time to revive and heal other pokemon while a tank pokemon takes the hits yeah. Awesome work on your strategy, good job!
Lol thanks, glad I could help
Yo I've tried like 30 times now and I still have yet to beat him I'm going to watch your video and let's hope your team helps me win bro
Good luck! I hope you get him. Bring Max revives if you can, it will help a lot
Oh nice!!
Close battle then
One Pokemon I would recommend is Alolan Ninetales! If you train the Vulpix up you get from the quest it actually is an asset against four of his Pokemon as well as Giratina.
Thanks for the tip!
I found a glaceon was really effective, especially against the giratina, ended up 2-shotting its origin form with a lvl 68 glaceon
I beat him on the first try, just had to use lots of potion and revives. won with a full team at least :)
Nice that's awesome!
Same here ! I was just spamming max revives but i also had lvl 90 Garchomp so D:
That battle... I barely survived Giratina's first form after being surprised by the lack of chances to heal up, considering the game was pretty generous with healing before.
In the end I beat it on the second try with my playthrough team, around Level 70, Thyphlosion, Staraptor, Luxray, Roserade, Gardevoir and Walrein, and only due to sheer luck. Giratina Origin Form missed a move, giving me the chance to finish it, in the end two of my Pokemon were alive but barely...
I usually don't use Full Revives in Pokemon, in this case, I had no choice.
Yeah it was a tough battle for many people
Managed to get him on my 3rd try using my story team limiting my self to 3 healing items, since I'm pretty sure that's how he uses, didn't use all 3 healing items tho.
My team was
Decidueye (Grass/Fighting)
Overqwil (Poison/Dark)
Basculegion (Water/ Ghost)
Goodra (Dragon/ Steel)
Zoroark (Normal/Ghost)
Arcanine (Fire/ Rock)
Very interesting team. Good job on winning
ngl
I had a hard time but that's because I was stubborn I used no healing items, my team was lv 65-73 sooo the layout was
Manaphy, Zoroark, Samurott, Dialga, Kleavor, creselia
NGL Manaphy was absolutely clutch and is the reason why I won
my over-leveled zoroark with maxed EV’s practically took him down alone, no one could out-speed him, my froslass, or my basculegion with their priority moves. Poor man barely got to move
it surprised me seeing how many people are struggling with the new battle mechanics. I count myself lucky that I just finished playing Monster Hunter Stories 2 a few months ago. I like how creative you can get with move-sets in this game, you can really find a way to win with whoever you want which is the best part to me.
You're surprised many players didn't over level and max out their pokemon's EV's?
Yeah the new system is really interesting and different. Wish we had online battles though
Got it first try without knowing what was coming. Glad I had LOTS of healing items and an otherwise very tanky team.
That's very good! well done!
OMG TYSM YOU REALLY HELPED ME! (Cresselia did it all tlike the whole Giratina fight but thanks! If I didn't have Rhyperior, Gardevior, or gyarados I would've been stuck on it.)
Nice job! glad it helped
"if you don't have Cresselia you can use Chansey or Blissey as an alternative"
You cannot get to this point of the game without having caught Cresselia smh
You can actually defeat Cresselia instead of catching her. I defeated another one by accident doing the guardian caves
My team that I use is. Togekiss. Garchamp, typlosion, toxicroak, zorark, riolu (evolution),. The technique here is to fully ev train your Pokémon. Make sure you have bulky pokemon.
Indeed it is
This was one of the easiest battles for me
Really? Wow
Thanks to this team, I actually won after a couple tries! Thank you so much for this video. I didn't even need to get any of my Pokemon to level 80!
Nice work!
I still think Cynthia is harder, he took me 7-8 times to beat and Cynthia took me over 10 times
Really? I was able to take cynthia out with just a garchomp that used stat boosting items and spammed earthquake
@@ConCon yea I wasn’t prepared and I could never even get to garchomp then when I finally did I just kept getting killed by garchomp then finally I used spatial rend with palkia and beat garchomp
Bro you made my battle so much easier. Giratina is so OP, my old Cresselia couldnt bear it!
Glad to hear it!
this fight was very infuriating for me, but i beat him on the fourth try, after switching up my team and actually buying revives 😅 he just kept getting lucky with crits EVERYTIME.
also, cresselia was also my tank during this fight, absolute MVP
The true MVP out there hahaha
I just beat it now, I used some of your tips but put a little bit of my spin to it. I didn’t really train like goku, my starting 6 was cresselia, dialga, palkia, heatran, garchomp & my very first Pokémon decidueye. All under level 70. What I did was go to the village and buy the max revive recipe and the rest was history. I didn’t even use my 6th Pokémon either.
Yeah the legendaries are great for the fight in a good order. Cresselia especially and dialga
thanks he is kicking my ass
Good luck for the rematch
By far the most helpful tutorial on here.
Thanks
I'm about to reach this battle. This is the first Pokemon battle that I am actually terrified about.
EDIT: I had nothing to be afraid of. I won the battle against Volo on my 1st try.
Yeah it's really hard
@@ConCon I just defeated him on my first try.
Volo beat me 5 or 8 times and all my pokemon were mid-70's and all there attacks were mastered but after watching the video I realized i had a lot of work to do to beat him, wish me luck.
Good luck! you got this!
I used Cresselia first and it did take hits but did not faint it just fainted in the giratina fight but I still won
Nice job!
Thx so much couldn’t have beat it with out u
Well done on it!
My team I used was Hisuian Typhlosion with shadow ball and 10 EV SPA)
Cresselia (the mvp for giratina)
Azelf (can do chip damage)
Mesprit (our death fodder to heal)
Hisuian Dialga (deals with garchomp well and maybe giratina if it’s still alive)
Regigigas (deals with the pesky togekiss)
Originally I was using heat ran instead of H-Typhlosion but I realized Typhlosions SPA was better so it could deal with it better (if you picked a different starter other than H-Typhlosion you can get the it from laventon just level it up)
Nice work!
Well done, sounds like you had a fun battle
I was humbled by Volo. Tried to beat him with a team of lvl 55-70 Pokemon lol. Going to try this method and catch/train these Pokemon. Thanks for the tips.
Good luck!
This was VERY helpful thank you so much :)
Glad to hear that!
Ty dude, I think my team can defeat it if I can lvl it up alot. Ty for the instructions and tips!
Good luck for the battle
I managed to defeat Volo in my first try, just like I did with Cynthia in Diamond. Giratina, however, mopped the floor with my team. That's why I decided to get Togekiss: it's immune to dragon and ground type attacks, so Dragon Pulse and Earth Power were not a threat. Aura Sphere is resisted 4 times, so not much damage there. The only real (but not quite) danger was Shadow Force. I just saved Togekiss from my battle with Volo in my second try and I defeated Giratina easily.
Great work! glad you beat the Giratina
i accidently over leveled my pokemon while chancy gring so my cresselia survived andi just beat it my own but you did help me choose the right pokemon ty!!!
Well done!
I went against the grain and used ALL THREE final form Hisuian starters Typhlosion (the one I chose for the main story), Samurott & Decidueye, along with Alpha Gardevoir, Alpha Garchomp and used Luxray with the moves Play Rough and Crunch for coverage.
Luxray with those moves is great for this
When I beat him my team had
Dialga
Palkia
Regigigas ( tanks Girarina attacks
well enough to revive Pokemon)
Alpha Mamoswine
Alpha Probopass
Cresselia
All of them were between 70-72
Nice job! good tanks on your team
@@ConCon thanks 🙌🏾
My first run my starter was my last Pokémon and got the last hit on his 6th Pokémon with minima health. There I was, thinking how poetic that ending was…then BOOM *insert evil villain smirk* out comes giratina. Crying commences. Best but also most frustrating fight in any of the games to this point!
Yeah it really comes as a surprise
not even the rest of the game was fun. I’ve caught Giratina after 2 hits, using Cresselia as well, and I don’t know man, I think i did it wrong.
Yeah Cresselia is the key to this fight
Thank you this helped so much!
Glad it helped!
Your right about the ass kicking he kicked it for an hour to the point of tears. I eventually just stopped and looked up this vid
Hahaha glad I could help
Yeah thanks
Cool cutscene for him summoning Giratina tho
True!
Gardevoir (Alpha)
Ursaring (Alpha) (Play Rough eviserates Garchomp and Spiritomb due to fairy weakness. Didn't have an extra peat block so had to make do.)
Garchomp (Alpha) (Iron Head slaps togekiss.)
Hisuian Sneasel (Alpha) (puts 3 of his pokemon in check.)
Staraptor (Alpha) (Counters Hisuian Arcanine if it lives after a stab Rock Slide)
Mamoswine (Alpha) (EZ claps Garchomp)
My team used to beat Volo. Still a pain in the rear cause of the free turn system.
Altered form is more bulky and Origin form is more offensive.
farm up stardust and use the money to buy Max Revives.
Spiritomb (HP Tank)
Togekiss (Special Wall)
Lucario (Mixed attacker)
Hisuian Arcanine (Physical attacker)
Roserade (Special attacker)
Garchomp (Wall buster)
Giratina Alt - Alpha Aura (Bulky tank with fighting and ground coverage)
Giratina Origin - Alpha Aura (Offensive wall breaker that will pull all stops to DESTROY your team.)
Normal, Rock, Ice and Steel (Forces Aura Sphere)
Dragon (Forces Dragon Claw)
Psychic and Ghost (Forces Shadow Force)
Fire, Rock, Steel, Electric, Poison (Forces Earth Power)
-Prioritizes Aura Sphere to bypass obscured status.
Highly Recommend using Dark Pulse if you want to take out Giratina effectively.
Thanks for all the info
I’ve been against him for over a month
Oh wow! I hope you beat him
In my rerun, half of my team matched Volo’s 😂 I brought my own Togekiss (great for his Spiritomb and Garchomp), Garchomp and Lucario to the battle. The rest, though, were Dialga, Magnezone (decent counter to his Togekiss, but watch out for Garchomp’s Earth Power) and Cresselia.
Thank you so much I'm going to put this into work
You got this!
The battle was beyond easy. lilligant one shot everyone of volo's pokemon with victory dance, and goodra tanked both giratina fights with shelter and ko'd them. My pokemon were somewhat underleveled too.
Nice job!!
Thanks for sharing a different approach to the battle
I'm not going to lie that's literally the exact reason why I came to this video.
Hahaha well I hope it helped
And now I start the grind, I tried to beat him several times (first time with my normal team only managed to get to the first giratina, second time using the new legendaries you catch, made it to second giratina)
Btw my normal team is: Monferno, Luxray, Gardevoir, Gengar, and then recently Dialga and Palkia
Edit 1: Im currently overleveling a lot more than you show, I'm aiming for level 100.
Edit 2: I completely leveled up to 100 and soloed with my Cresselia
Good luck! you'll get it soon
@@ConCon Thanks for the support! 😅
Thanks man you really helped me beat him
Glad to help
I recommend the ghost type for giratina is zoroark, you can make it learn a full ghost type moveset BUT... it can learn one move that can frostbite and double power if the pokemon has an effect
Good one to use there as well
@@ConCon my zoroark learned the move btw
@@ConCon volo was easy for me
It only took me two times to beat him and Giratina with a team of Gardevoir, H Typhlosion, Golem, Electivire, Floatzel, and H Goodra. My team is mostly levels 75-79. Not to mention, I have lots of Max Revives in ready (used 5 of them)
Lastly, Golem, H Goodra, and Floatzel are my walls so that I can revive H Typhlosion and Gardevoir.
Awesome, good job on beating him
On one of my attempts, I was super close, but Giratina in his last form avoided 4 attacks in a row
Yeah it's crazy how good Obscure is
Got a question
If I take pokemon from Arceus to Scarlet and Violet, Hyper Train them, then Send them back to Legends Arceus
Will they're stats be affected there?
No idea to be honest
I like tryed this battle over and over for like 7 times and i think ill spend the next 4 day to train these Pokémon.
Awesome guide btw
And one question....where is possible to find gardevoir?
At Heart's Crag in Alabaster Icelands. There's a level 70 alpha there too
