Dude hikes all day, jogging and sprinting everywhere while carrying a huge load of loot, risking his life all the time. *Why am I thirsty all the time?*
First time playing stalker anomaly, the zone has its hook in my addiction nerve. Got like 300k rubles worth of gear on me, all sorts of cool gadgets and such, courtesy of the southern military outpost assaulting Rookie village and somehow losing... Explored like 5 areas so far, not a single toolkit for technicians still :/
I love how the npcs also have to consume food and water, do weapon upgraded and the like. That Stalker you were talking to by the fire at the Farm was drinking an energy drink when you walked up, and it showed in his inventory for a couple seconds and then disappeared while you were talking to him as he finished. I find this fascinating. Like on DayZ, the wolves and bears hunt animals as well as players. I saw 6 wolves chasing a terrified pig one day, just watched through my scope while they slaughtered it and began to feed. Life goes on, even when its simulated and no one is online. *Edited to say I love, not I live, at the start.
The NPC feeding system is interesting. When the action triggers, it spawns in the relevant food for the NPC to immediately consume. It’s too quick to abuse, but still kinda cool. It’s also worth mentioning that the NPC’s ‘full’ inventory is hidden from the player (there are mods which unlock this). I recall there being more mutant infighting in the original games. It happens occasionally in Anomaly, but not nearly as often. Gothic is still one of the more impressive titles I saw doing this natural predator/prey system unscripted.

It's taking me a few days to finish an episode. But I'm liking it so far, really makes me evaluate how good a shotgun is when you have bad or no armor. As at least then, it gives you a chance to put down anyone coming in close.
Shotguns are relevant even late game. Buckshot has immense stopping power, and when you find weapons like the Saiga which have a tighter spread you can even put some range between you and target and the shotty will still be highly effective. Buckshot is also dirt cheap, easily the most economical ammo in the game.

No, it isn’t turned down, it’s set to ‘progressive’ which is based on player level. Mid and high tier items won’t drop until the player has sufficient experience. It’s supposed to simulate a gear power curve but I can see how some might be put off by it. You can change loot drops to ‘full’ meaning that all tiers can drop right out of the gate, regardless of player level. This feels a little more organic but can make the early game trivial if you kill 1 or 2 well geared opponents.
I'm late to the party and not even sure you didn't correct yourself already But... 59:55 when you change your armor from weighing 8kg with +13kg capacity to 16kg with a +16kg one you don't "get a boost" you're just losing 5kg cause the vest itself weighs more (Sorry it was just bothering me :D )
