Add washing soda (different from baking soda but made by arm and hammer too), powdered oxy clean, and if you want, borax (20 mule team) and it will go a lot farther.

What a way to clean the blender and make multipurpose soap at the same time!

This is great but you also can shave about a quarter of a bar with a cheese grater in fine pieces per load and it works great as well.

My household would ban me from using the microwave, the washing machine, AND the food processor if they catch me doing this 🤣

You can add Borax or Laundry washing soda. Add lemon juice then press into pods

I just grate a bar of plant-based soap, add washing soda, baking soda & I've got laundry soap. I like to use different scented bars....I can vary the scent of my laundry soap & I think that's pretty cool....& making it means it doesn't have any of the unnecessary ingredients store-bought detergent has & it costs a LOT less.
I don't know why the need to use microwave.....🤷‍♀️🙂

It works very well with warm water , definitely not as good as an actual Landry detergent but if you're in a pinch and this is a very helpful hack!

You should add Super washing soda and baking soda, maybe borax and it will make a large bucket of detergent.

Soap such as Ivory Snow is not detergent. Detergent is detergent.

Exactly, soap and detergent have completely different chemistry.

You’re gonna have so much soap scum build up in the drums and pipes, the soap will build up on your clothes without the other ingredients and you need to wash on HOT, vinegar as softener and double spin cycle.

Hello! Question, because Ivory is my FAVORITE soap to use. I'm in love with the way it smells. But when you wash your clothes with it, does your clothes smell like it? Because if so, I'm doing this and gonna stop purchasing detergent.

    • @LivingSimple66

@@deepdarkcocoa7956 yes it does the ivory bar soap even though you shred it down is a little hard to disintegrate in the wash machine, so I just use ivory dishwashing liquid and for me it smells great. The bar soap smells great as well. You can actually make the bar soap into powder if you have a processor.
