Correct girl. Just go to the market and look for Igbo women, they'll give you all you need. If you're Yaounde, your best bet is Marche Mfoundi. I'm Igbo residing in Yaounde. All the best in your relationship nwanyi oma
This is my first time watching. I’m in Baltimore, Md USA. There is an African restaurant here that serves Nigerian food, but I do not know what to get. I don’t think I would eat periwinkle, but the leafy green soup, I most definitely want and to experience eating with my fingers using the poundo yams instead of utensils would be AWESOME
I love you so much ma, the explanation and the care of you reminding us not to get burnt is amazing… with this I made my first oha soup and boom it was on a pro level … thank you 😘😘😘
Authentic Oha Soup. Just this afternoon I was discussing with someone over the phone how I crave for oha soup. The last time I eat this was 6 years ago. This one is more than nose blinding o also eye blindingly deliciousness 😂😋😋
I love your videos very detailed and well explanatory, another recipe i watched before coming across your video made me confused as to whether the oha leaves are to be washed or not, it wasn't even mentioned, she just added it without showing how she washed it, or even letting us know in her voice over if she washed it or not. Thank you jare
I can beat my chest so hard, to say " UHA" soup is the best soup in the world 🗺. Better than " egusi, " better than " okra " and what have you name any soup, you like, UHA" is the greatest of them all.
@@agoziefrances7516 oh my goodness, you have been living in heaven " food wise " all the time. I say on to you remember me when ever you are indulging into the " Soup " that God gave to the igbos. Remember we long suffering " UHA " lovers 💏. Ride on brother. I Reside in Brixton, South West London.
Hello Joyful cook am watching from Nigeria and I from the northern part of Nigeria I want to ask why use hand to cut the oha why can't you use knife to cut the leaves
Looks yummy On a side note ma I think you should talk about the particular specie of coco yam to use if your looking for that Specific Oha taste is not all coco yam that can be used. My opinion though
Thanks a lot, Joyful cook. I made this soup today using your recipe except for the smoked catfish. It took time (I guess because it's my first time and the use of 1 gas ) I started at 6:46 pm and ended it at 9:27 pm. Thank you once again.
My boyfriend is Igbo and he's been begging me to cook oha soup for me. Me as a sharp Cameroon babe am here to learn
You are kind enough to go in search of his requested meal. Thank you beautiful one .

I will beat my chest with you .. oha is the best , no cap
@@agoziefrances7516 Exactly, no comparison. I have not had "UHA " soup for years. Due where I live. UK 🇬🇧. For 40,years and counting.
I live in the uk 🇬🇧 too and i make oha all the time .. though not with ede (thickener) but its still taste like the bomb

It's nice and rich, but the soup water is more than the vegetable

You are right. My two favorite
Watching from Malawi
This is Banga soup automatically after using the Match banga nut. Oha should go with palm oil and the coco yam
Sorry but you are so wrong, the best to make oha is palm fruits that if you can go through the process, you can try it if you want
In Igbo land, we tend to use banga for almost all our soups traditionally
So ma once the soup is thick then I can remove the coco yam ?
The cocoyam dissolves in the broth and causes it to thicken, giving it the famous oha consistency
Hello Joyful cook am watching from Nigeria and I from the northern part of Nigeria I want to ask why use hand to cut the oha why can't you use knife to cut the leaves
Oha leaf doesn't go well when cut with knife like other greens. It's best hand tossed
You can use knife if you want, it will still come out fine
One of my best soup
Please can you use bitterleaf or spinach for this?
No, using bitterleaf will automatically turn it to a different soup(i.e Bitterleaf soup) which is similar in cooking.
The same thing with Spinach
Looks yummy
On a side note ma I think you should talk about the particular specie of coco yam to use if your looking for that Specific Oha taste is not all coco yam that can be used. My opinion though
Pls cocoyam and ofor which one is more sweeter for this uha soup
Ofor is fake so over hyped
