As an Akwaibomite I must commend your cooking, you're the only one who has cooked this soup how my people cook it, Thank you 😊 💓 ☺️ 💗
That Afang aroma eh! Thats the best part!
For an Igbo woman...You nailed it! Not surprised though, we're good at whatever we do😊
Exactly. That's how I cook mine 😋
I have never seen a tribe who has soup more than Akwa Ibom.
@@nmg1909 We appreciate 🙏🏼 ❤️
Please is the water leaf a must?
This is a spiritually powerful soup. I ate this soup for the first time in America and let me tell you that I slept soo deep and had some very vivid dreams. The way I slept after eating this soup. I've never slept that deep like that IN MY LIFE.... Nigerians call this Afang soup but I call this DREAM SOUP and BY FORCE, I'm going to learn how to make it. This soup is a healing soup.
Okayyyyyy, somebody should call me apprentice ooo..
I just tried this recipe now and oooo myyyy God!! It came out nice..Like this is the first time in my life i am cooking this myself,i have always bought it but today i said noo i must cook it.. Thank you so much for sharing this
Our Igbo turned Calabar woman.
Thank you for the lecture, you did justice to this soup. As a typical Calabar man who knows about this soup, this is just it. Welldone Nne.
Sir Ukpong . 😍 Thank you sir. I’m coming to finish yours sha 😅
Yes oooooooo , greaaaaat
We eat this in Cameroon too. We call it Eru. There's a slight difference with cooking method(we don't pound the Afang/eru leaves and we add water leaf when meat stock must have dried up but asides that every other thing is same and in cameroon this is one of best meals as well. Hard to see someone who doesnt love eru
Wow
Agree, am from Cameroon. Both methods are worth eating
yes oh my sister...
@@naditaebony3538,,
Oh my God you really cooked this soup the way Calabar people cook their Afang soup especially not adding onions. This is a real thumbs up 👍 👌 for you. Well done @Joyful Cook 👏👏👏
Your cooking style is very similar to my mums. Love how you enjoy your own cooking. You have lovely hands and a soothing speaking voice. Writing from Poland. You're doing an amazing job. Keep on shining!

Girlll this soup was a hit back to Back! I can't stop eating it. This was hands down the best afang I have ever made. I had to find this video again so I can comment❤️!! My family loves it too.
Guys this is your sign to follow who know road.. And that's Joyful cook🥰🥰
Thank you so much, nne❤️
I really appreciate how you treated the afang, chopped it and pounded it yourself.
So I am watching from Joppa Maryland. But I am a Cameroonian born that loves to cook the calabar people share so many similar recipes with my culture the Bayangi people of Cameroon. Afang soup is like our Eru so similar!!!
Yes very correct sis. Thats how we cook our eru in Cameroon
This is by far the best Afang soup recipe on the internet !!! The no onions means you know exactly what you’re doing!!!!!!
But onions add lots of flavour and test to food, even vegetable soups.
@@jennywinny4066 you are right but onions are not part of the traditional list of ingredients for afang soup! You can use onions but it doesn’t taste same. I’ve done it both ways and I used to wonder why my afang doesn’t taste as good as the ones I eat in cross river state! Until a grandma told me not to use onions and the result was a lot better! Same with ogbono soup! Secret from my very one grandma not to use onions in making it. But I love onions in every other meal. Except these two soups
@@ososeesekie it's ok, just that I'm addicted to onion. Love it in every food
No onions in any vegetable soup gives a bland flat vegetable soup, including afang
I was about to ask why she didn't add onions . So they don't add onions to afang, I will try it out
As a Calabar woman I give you 👍👌
One of the best I have seen on the internet so far...thumbs up
You're such a good teacher. Thanks so much. I actually came on line to learn this soup .and your page was the first and last I needed. Many thanks

Thank you ma’am. This is my first time of watching you and cooking afang soup. I just tried it today and behold it’s came out just like this ❤️❤️❤️
wow we cook something similar in Cameroon. It's called ERU; we don't pound the ukazi leaves, we cook in its diced form from the market. we cook with palm oil, water leaves, enough cray fish, cow hide just like this... so yummy.
My Inlaw thought me that RECIPE too!!! Very Yummy
Definitely try this today !
Wow!!! This afang soup looks delicious ❤❤❤
wow!!! Thanks so much ma for all your teaching, I always love your recipes, someone that teach me how to cook this said I must not wash the afang leaf if not the soup will be spoilt and that makes the soup look so unclean to me, I appreciate you ma.
