The Reason why We hardly hear of SG Scandals is bcz most are Covered- Up By Obedient & Obscenely Paid Civil Servants… Only Selected Ones are made Public thru SG’s notoriously Controlled & Obedient Mainstream Media . Noteworthy SG is heavily invested in Cyber Surveillance & Proxy espionage . ie. meaning there is pbly someone or some App Out there reading & collating All Posts , Texts , Comments etc to identify Trends & Threats &/ or plant honeypots etc …Think You get the idea …😊

The saddest one must be The Late Mr. Tay Chiang Wan's case. As a true gentleman, he took his own life for his own carelessness. May his soul rest in peace.
A person must have a very strong will- power to avoid corruption. Our beloved late LKY is a very good example. May his soul rest in peace.

Some caught for corruption actually took their own lives out of shame. Their neighbouring country however, a very different story. Those convicted are heroes in the eyes of some.

At least their Anti Corruption Agency is independent and did good jobs swiftly to nab those guilty to bring them to justice. Also commendable is the Singapore Govt which never interfered with the justice system for political expediency.Unlike here where corruption scandals only see action initiated after decades or years after they occurred.

No country is spared with such people, the numbers differs with tighter laws to discourage even the thoughts of it. Swift control and implementation of justice further help to suppress an increase in this areas.

Actually Singapore is just like any other country which has corruption too, but only difference is that Singapore has very limited opposition to spread to the world about its local politics and not many in mainstream media badmouth the country about its corruption. so the perception of a country's corruption is depended if the mainstream media speaks much about it or not.

What on earth are you talking about? When was the last time a traffic police officer pulled you over for "speeding" and tried to extract a bribe from you? It just doesn't happen in Singapore. Yeah we're not perfect but corruption is objectively very much in control here. Of course the rich and powerful do get preferential treatment and opportunities here and there but name me one country where that isn't the case

Singapore has its fair share of corruption over the years. Remember Minister of National Development Minister Teh Cheang Wan who accepted bribes of 3 million dollars in 1980 which is 50 million equivalent in 2024 but he killed himself before going for trial? Plus NTUC Union Chief and MP Phey Yew Kok who stole money from NTUC and ran off to Thailand for 50 years before surrendering himself because of kidney failure and needed treatment @@samdan87

Just because got corruption , don't mean got a lot, if you look at Malaysia where corruption is a culture, you see top to down , even police officer also gets bribe regularly, so don't make assumptions comment that swirl the trust of government just because you want to relief your bias of government , and it not at your expense, because people who not smart enough to look at comparative facts like you, will take it blindly and use it to undermine and demoralise majiorty of honest public servant, hence disrupt their work and motivation. And corruption is also subjective, if you look at recent israwan case, a lot of Malaysian said that ticket is insignificant, not like a lot of money, which means a culture that don't value honesty and integrity a lot, corruption is significant higher, as their expectations and standard will be lower,, where a culture that value honesty and integrity, not only corruption will be lower , the standard will be much higher to upheld certain expectation, where even amount slightly more than $50 is not allowed as gift for public servant.

Malaysia is NOT as corrupt as Africa or as bad as you think as most of the corruption accusations are mainly politically motivated by political narratives by the useless Pakatan Harapan leaders. Singapore had a fair share and had cases of police abusing their authority like a NSF policeman was jailed for raping teenage student at staircases after witnessing them being intimate with her bf while another tragic case where a veteran senior policeman Iskandar Rahmat killed a father and son at Kovan terrace house in a robbery after he was suspended and facing bankruptcies . the only reason why Singapore does NOT look bad yet because the Western bias controlled media does NOT demonized Singapore as corrupt. its just a matter of time it will look bad once the world media targets a country they despise @@lily19855

Corruption index is based on Perception for a good reason. Imho, known corruptions are known. Unknown corruptions are unknown. Perception is perception

Very unfortunately, all these disgraceful corruptors were given only super light sentences and punishments which were all jokes and rendered Singapore a laughing stock amongst the World when cleanliness is concerned. Also, such mickey mouse form of punishments will never deter future potential corruptors in both the private and civil service to corrupt again thinking that they woukd not be exposed due to who they are.
How could a man who's at a minister level for so long claimed not guilty for corruption after having accepting free holiday trips, expensive meals and free tickets to high end events. Ask any old uncle seeping coffee in a coffee shop and he can tell you that's purely corruption.
