Fantastic! Hope the Bobbie Gentry's series with guests Elton John and James Taylor can be found too. Bobbie is awesome. Such unfettered charisma, command of the stage and above all sheer talent.
My absolute pleasure, Paul. Just about to upload the Show from series 1 featuring Long John Baldry, then that is all 5 uploaded that the BBC kindly broadcast...
Simply wonderful and to see her in the Patchwork dress. I'm guessing this was around the time of the release of the Patchwork album. I'm impressed by these clips that show Bobbie sharing the stage with her guests and not attempting to upstage them. That's class.
The songs in the final medley are as follows: 1: Golden Slumbers - The Beatles 2: California Dreamin - The Mamas and the Papas 3: 500 Miles - Bobby Bare 4: Golden Slumbers (one line reprise) 5: But You Know I Love You - The First Edition
This is a what is called a kinescope or telecine copy. It was probably made for international distribution by the BBC. The original tape of this episode along with most of the others in this series have been taped over or destroyed. This was common practice for television networks of this time. Tapes were reused or destroyed to save money and space.
@@tush001 Yes, these telecine copies in black and white were sent to many countries in the British commonwealth. Australia, especially.... Australian television did not start broadcasting in color until January 1, 1975. Sometimes, treasures are found, they found 11 lost episodes of Doctor Who at a television relay station in Nigeria. It would be nice if the remaining Bobbie Gentry Show episodes would surface like that one day.
