Schecter guitars come with a very good reputation. This is a very budget friendly one of theirs, it's the C-6 Deluxe. Can this guitar live up to that reputation? Let's find out.

That's a decent guitar for the money and the stock pickups sound a lot better than you'll often find in that price range. A very good option for someone's first guitar if they like their metal.

Even before watching the whole video i was like "yes, Schecter is good" (i mean, i'm not a rich guy and after 9 years of playing i feel i will always be a beginner, so i think for someone like me it's a very good guitar haha)

Got one in black about 6 years ago I think? Been my main gal since then. The good thing about guitars this inexpensive is you can mod them pretty guilt free. I changed the pickups out (didn't like the originals), added locking tuners for convenience, replaced the stock knobs cause they fell off, and added a coil split. I use it as a tinkering platform, I like to build guitar based contraptions at home. For the price it's a very solid guitar.

I think I lucked out on my copy specifically. Mine came with a VERY nice rosewood fretboard. The neck itself is razor thin, I haven't measured it but I'd venture somewhere around .70. My frets were relatively flawless, too. No sprout, no high frets. Just a quick polish to shine. Nut wasn't perfect, but I fixed that easily. Only issue with the guitar which started about a year ago is the stock bridge's b string saddle tends to click back and forth when plucking it.

Schecter guitars coming out of Indonesia are consistently good but not great. For the money they cost you can easily throw in some better pots and pickups and have a gig worthy backup without your wallet, or woman, complaining too much.
Strats are more my "cup of tea" (LOL) but I've never played a Schecter that wasn't decent to good right out of the box.
Great review as always. Loving this channel.

I'd say for a Firefly or some other sub $200 guitar, I'd expect less than optimal fret work, but for any Schecter, I expect it to be good!

I have a Schecter C6 Plus in Black Cherry and it looks and plays well at
    it's price point.
A minor setup and polish / smooth the fret ends left me with a guitar
that is far easier to play due to the slim neck.
Highly recommend, the further you go up the Schecter range the better
they are, i also have a C-1 FR S and that is an excellent guitar.

I picked up a c-6 elite on sale ($199) with a horrendous colored gold top; refinished it (emerald green burst) and updated everything with decent, though not high-end mods (guitarheads pickups, Bourne's push pull pots, Orange drop capacitor, PureTone input jack, tone ninja locking tuners, bone nut), polished the frets and rolled the fretboard edges, and lowered the action.... It's pretty good overall, but even with the upgrades and setup, it's still just pretty good. I can't put a finger on what keeps it from being very good. But like Elmo said, it's solid and enjoyable; I'm just not sure that swapping parts will be a significant improvement without going over the top and spending a lot more money on parts than the guitar costs. It's basically as good as it can be already. I was able to change the looks and the voice, but overall I wouldn't really say it drastically improved much, just made it different. Based on my experience, I would recommend this guitar because it's affordable, comfortable and enjoyable.

This is my first guitar. Few years ago it cost more like 250 euros. My observations
    Pros:
    +frets are ok
    +stays in tune very well
    +overall solid
+neck feels good, matte finish on the back of the neck
    Cons:
    -heavy
-I dont like stock pickups too much, they are quite muddy, almost impossible to play clean, especially neck
    -knobs fall out

All I am going to say is that I have a Schecter Hellraiser FR 6 string and it is the best guitar I have ever owned but not at all the most expensive. I have the one with 2 EMG humbuckers. I figured the sustainiac option was more of a gimmick.

Dude, I've have a lot of guitars that cost 2 and 3 times as much as this one, and this thing still blows me away, I don't know if I just got a good one, but this is my go to guitar for almost everything, it's beautiful, and it just works, never goes out of tune, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Definitely advised! Kind of sucks that this review is low energy and underwhelming, but I think you have to live with a guitar for a while before you can really appreciate it, so I don't blame him. (always let your guitars sit, and acclimate for a day before tuning, and playing, shipping is the worst part part of every instruments life :\ oh! and don't forget to stretch ^^ )

Quick question though, you said you didn't think that this was the best guitar in the price range. What do you think is better for the same money? I would be really interested in knowing what you have to say about that. Actually, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again from Florida.

Hey Elmo, I forgot to give you the other message i wanted to give you following this video. You said rather sarcasticly, that you no longer had time to practice, play guitar or make music, because you had children, and you now spent your time working and being a soccer coach? And thats great! ( you need to make money to support your family, and your kids need a dad that is involved in their daily lives and activities! So having a dad that is also your soccer coach can be great! ( but it could also be not so great either! depending your relationship with your kids, the other kids on the team, and your over all coaching abilities? ) but you can always speak to whomever is running the soccer league, and tell them you dont have the time to coach! you will ofcourse be at every game, because your kids are on the team! but you have other things you need to do and cannot coach the team. ( your wife can take the kids to practice, and stay watching them and supporting them there ) WHILE YOU STAY AT HOME PRACTICING, AND PLAYING YOUR GUITAR, AND WORKING ON YOUR OWN MUSIC AGAIN!!!! : ) ( then ofcourse you and your wife can both go to see your kids play when they have a game ) They will need you both there! : ) IM TRYING TO GIVE YOU WAYS YOU CAN GET BACK TO DOING "YOUR THING"! BECAUSE AS YOU AND I AND YOUR WIFE SHOULD KNOW! YOU HAVE TO BE YOU TOO! YOU ARE NOT JUST A HUSBAND AND A PARENT! YOU ARE ALSO A MUSICIAN! AND THAT DOESNT NOR SHOULDNT STOP WHEN YOU GET MARRIED AND HAVE A FAMILY! YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE TIME THROUGHOUT THE WEEK WHERE YOU CAN PLAY! THERE SHOULD BE ATLEAST ONE HOUR EVERY DAY YOU CAN FIND TIME TO PLAY! MAYBE AFTER THE KIDS GO TO BED FOR THE NIGHT? MAYBE EARLY IN THE MORNING BEFORE GOING TO WORK? YOU CAN WAKE UP AN HOUR EARLY JUST TO PLAY! OR? MAYBE YOU CAN BRING YOUR GUITAR WITH YOU TO WORK, AND PLAY DURING LUNCH? DEPENDING ON WHATS GOING ON WITH YOUR JOB? WHEN THE KIDS HAVE SOCCER PRACTICE? LET YOUR WIFE TAKE THEM, AND WHILE THEY ARE THERE? YOU ARE HOME PRACTICING AND PLAYING! : ) IM SURE IF YOU WRITE DOWN THE FAMILIES WEEKLY SCHEDULE? YOU WILL SEE ALL THE PLACES YOU CAN FIND AN HOUR OR MORE EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK! : ) YOU HAVE TO TRY!

so i got one of these 5 days ago and i gotta say, i couldn't be more disappointed. from the first moment i pulled it out of its case i thought damn my 230$ ibanez is put together well. and the more i looked at it the worse it got. the frets they all stick out of the sides of the neck a tiny bit. the bottom frets are starting to lift(you can see light under the fret at some angles)number 7 fret looks like it has been glued in and there is a ton of scratches on the body below the strings.(RH side of guitar). for a new guitar the fit and finish is TERRIBLE. cant help but feel cheated. like these are supposed to be awesome but mine is cr@p?
