Being a lefty discovering Schechter was a godsend one of the few companies out there that had top-of-the-line models available in Lefty, I've gotten to scheckter's over the past eight years and I've never looked back
The Schecter PT model was named after Pete Townshend, after he first started playing a T style Schecter guitar built for him to replace his heavy Les Paul in 1979. The PT became a production model in 1987, which had been called the Saturn.

I'll make this really simple. I'm 52 and have played them ALL. I have never had a "brand", always trying out new sounds and having, say, a Les Paul for this and a Tele for that. Well, I can finally say that I'm a Schecter guy. Everything you said in this video and more. It's too bad you only tacked it on the end in text instead of discussing it, but Schecter's in-house pickups are amazing. I haven't replaced any of them. I've yet to play the Sustainiac pups yet, but I intend to on my next guitar. These guitars are well-made all around and feel wonderful to play. For those starting out, let's just say that a good general rule of thumb is this: Schecters are a grade up per price range in quality. Meaning, a 3-400 dollar Schecter is comparable to many other 5-700 dollar guitars, 5-600 dollar Schecters are like 800 dollar competitors and so forth. Of course not in every case, but as I said, it's a good rule of thumb. I'm surprised it took me this long to become loyal to one company, but with all those years behind me I learned a lot. Schecter for me, all the way.
Hello I'm semi begginer 50 yo.. I play alone with epiphone casino p90s Do you think Sheckter solo 6 is a good choice For blues and hard rock? There is a second hand near me Thank you
@@dimitrisaivaliotis5616 Hell yes!! On paper the features you get would cost exactly double what you'd pay for Gibson, PRS, Les Paul. They look awesome too so you'll have to pick it up when you walk by. Last don't associate it with just metal. They've been around for a while and many classic rock guitarists used Schecter.
@@se2018 as are the guys from Seether. Two of the guys have their own schecter models. One a bass and the other a normal 6 string with Shaun (the vocalists) paint job and look he picked out. Schecter basses are I'm told to be very great bases but a bit different than other brands how they work.
It's their selection of left handed guitars that drew me in, most other companies have a couple of options so not a lot of choice, I decide I want a 7 string with Fishmans, Schecter is the only company with one
I’ve never played a bad Schecter. They consistently make quality instruments. Some people don’t like the flashy looking guitars, but they have the Sun Valley ones that are more of a classic look. I really love their instruments. They beat Gibson any day in my book (and I love the set/thru necks).
One of my favorite things about Schecter is their willingness to change. I have a first run Avenger 7 string from the late 90s and it is nothing like the current Avengers. The early ones were super blocky on the sides with baseball bat necks...the new ones are sleek, sexy, curvy with totally different neck profiles. Very few companies are willing to change an original design that much in such a short amount of time.
To me part of it was the comfortable, easy access set neck joint. It was rare to find it at the price point in the 2000's. I also love their PRSy headstock style.
I just bought a used schecter today from guitar center for $450, and I am totally loving it! I thought this was just a small brand until I watched this video!
People who say they aren't worth the price aren't well versed with them. Up until a few years ago I never thought they were on par with the Ibanez, the Jackson, etc., until I played a few of them and not only did they play well, but they were built Rock Solid, and they sounded great and were extremely comfortable and were finished beautifully. I have been building instruments for many years and I liked the JL - 7 Jeff Loomis signature model with his signature Seymour Duncan pickups so much that I had to keep it. I play it all the time. When compared to other instruments in the same price ranges the build components, the specs, the raw materials used for the body in the neck fretboards fretz, you said it exactly right, they compete with everyone in that price range whether it's 700 to $800 or 1000 to $1,200 or anything.
100% agree, a friend of mine was looking at some Ibanez guitars and I showed him some Schecter models - dollar to value ratio they’re hard to beat. My cheap Omen Extreme 6 has perfectly rounded fret edges, the neck doesn’t have a hard edge either. I also like the fact their import guitars are inspected with final setup in the USA prior to getting boxed. My PRS SE Custom arrived with the tail of the trem bridge rocked all the way back on the body of the guitar and all 6 set screws were at noticeably different heights. So once GC opens their stores (otherwise I pay for shipping to send it back to GC) it’s getting exchanged in for a Schecter Solo II Custom... and maybe I’m just building a Schecter collection lol
It’s worth mentioning Robert Smith from The Cure has played Schecter for years and has a really cool signature model. Clearly they’re really well suited for post-punk/indie music
I started playing guitar in the mid 90s as a teenager and bounced from budget guitar brand to budget guitar brand. Around 2002 I saw a brand I had never seen before at one of my local shops - Schecter. The first one I saw was a brand new quilted golden maple topped SuperStrat with a Steve Vai "Jem" styled fretboard inlay. This thing blew my mind in how beautiful it looked. When I asked to take it down and try it out, the shop owner said "Go for it dude...buckle up." Man, what a fiddle. It ended up being a C1 Classic - the one in my thumbnail to the left. I've gotten more compliments over the years from the big brand guys on how it looks and sounds. When I let them grab it, they don't want to give it up. I turned my best friend - a traditional Les Paul guy - into a dedicated Schecter player with that guitar. He now owns several Jeff Loomis models and several Hellraisers. I have also owned the Terry Corso signature (Alien Ant Farm guitarist - sick little sleeper guitar right there!), several mid tiered 7 strings and now I have a red C1 Plus to go along with the Classic. Sorry for the novel, Agufish, but these guitars are just something else. Both of mine come from the early 2000s and I'm never letting them go.
Schecter has been making amazing Strats and Teles since 70es, and they still do. If not well informed people think they are a metal based brand it's their fault I guess
i got my first Schecter guitar a while back, it was also my first 7-string and it is my favorite guitar! the quality is amazing, everything was perfect when i got it and it’s just overall a great feeling guitar! it’s a Schecter Diamond Series Hellraiser C-7 it was also a used guitar
One thing to mention about Schecter´s in house pickups: Schecter was originally a replacement parts and aftermarket pickup shop in the 70s,similar to S.Duncan or Dimarzio. Even though their more expensive guitars are made in S.Korea, they have Made in USA custom shop pickups, that are on the same quality level as the known aftermarket brands. They´re actually handwound and not some massproduced,"designed by" cheapo pickups. For example the "Pasadena" humbucker set,was designed for Zacky from A7X who wanted a "hotrodded PAF" style humbucker set, similar to a S.Duncan JB/Jazz or JB/59 combo, which he was using prior.
my first ever guitar i bought in 2013 was a schecter sgr c-1 it cost £179 and it is an incredible instrument for the price point i still regularly play it today even out of my 12+ guitar collection
I've been a fan of Schecter guitars for decades now and I own one. They are excellent values and they do their own thing as a company. They make very good pickups too.
My favorite brand, hands down. My Korean-made Hellraiser kicked basically all my other guitars out of the hard, with the exception of my baritone-tuned multiscale Ibanez. What may surprise folks is that I am not a primarily metal player, though that's coming along. I'm a singer-songwriter. EMG + Sustainiac = very happy ambient player.
@@vinhsanity Really? Sound so good though, they look great, but if you get a Steve Vai Anniversary etc. Then ya. PRS is famous for paying extra fro the name. But they have some great guitars under $1,000. I like your list but would swap Ephone for PRS.
I have 2 Schecter guitars. An Omen 6 that I got in 2010, and a C-8 Deluxe I bought in 2018. They're both like low end guitars, like $400-600 Canadian, and they're just good. I played the crap out of the Omen 6 and gigged with it in a couple bands, it wasn't until a year or two ago that the electronics started to crap out a little bit. No sharp frets, they stay in tune, they sound pretty good, no issues with the finish or anything. And the same with the 8 string. Zero issues out of the box. And I'm one of the lefties you brought up. Unfortunately both of my guitars are black with rosewood fingerboards (bleh), but they're great in every other way so you can look past their visuals. They're just really solid guitars and Schecter deserves a top spot in the industry.
I was attracted by Shecter back in 2005 with the initial Banshee.. that weird retro mix of Strat for the body type and tele for the control. that headstock with 5 /1. and the fantastick sparkle Green. a duncan design at the bridge (similar to the famous sh-4 aka JB) and and lipstick at the neck. i still have this guitar and got a schecter S-iI omen extreme for christmas.. no regrets at all, Great guitar, good price, well built
As an owner of a couple of schecter guitars, I have to say that their affordable guitars are just built very well. They play so good and in my opinion, they don’t feel like trash. I had no idea they built so many models. I’ll have to check out schecter for a couple of guitars! Thanks for this video.
The SLS Elite I have is considered a metal axe but really, with those crystal clear Fishman Fluence pickups, it can play anything. I play jazz on mine as well as metal.
I was looking at one, but decided it was just outside my price range. Also, I’m still stuck in the 60s and 70s era music for the most part. Such a good looking guitar too, do you have the black fade one, where the sides and back are the natural wood?
If you have the one I was looking at that guitar can be used in a jazz, funk, rock, metal, or just about any other type of band and it would fit the vibe!
Don't forget, schecter made all of Princes' custom guitars as well! I ordered a C6 FR-S Apocalypse in July and when it showed up It could have gone straight from box to stage. Perfectly in tune and set up beautifully, never had a guitar show up in this condition. When it comes to price, you truly get what/more than what you pay for, nothing will match their everyday quality.
My first "good" guitar was a Schecter Hellraiser Solo-6 and all these years later its still my number 1. Nothing plays or feels like it does. Huge Schecter fan here!
Ibanez has some new 2020 models with sustainiac. There’s a new premium Joe Satriani model (modeled after his prestige guitar), and also a new RG axion label (I kinda want that tbh)
Bought schecter s1 or something from a pawn shop last week and I was surprised how well it sounded for having old strings and probably no upkeep in years, the tone is actually crazy
I bought a Diamond Series Omen Extreme 6 last summer and my expectations were blown outta the water. I was looking for a good mid-high range $500-600 guitar and I tried a dinky and even though it was $100 more, the Omen felt so much better built with a good hefty neck that isnt too shreddy (which is good for me since im mostly a rhythm player). Its so smooth and comfortable to play and it has some good, heavy thickness to it. Their stock pickups blow LTD’a out of the water. Like those pickups WITH a coil splitter? Id say you get even more than you expect for that price. Also I love how creative and colorful they are. I feel like Ibanez’s and LTD’s have just focused on making really standard, middle-of the road guitars that arent bad at all, but dont have too much personality to them. I love Schecter because they have all kinda of weird and bizarre shapes that at the same time dont stray into BC Rich territory. Like the S-II and the Avenger are weird enough to turn heads but not too weird to go “ew”.
7:25 is that "Sustainiac Face" ;-) Great video as always. Your description says "why you loved your Gibsons,...) I don't own a Schecter, but will give them a look. God bless and rock on!
Hagstrom. Do this to Hagstrom. They’re brilliant guitars, my Rextone is amazingly well built with incredible pickups as stock and the necks are genius. Hagstrom deserve more love.
I've been wanting a Schecter for years now but haven't gotten around to getting one yet...still playing my EC-1000 LTD primarily..which is a badass guitar btw imo
Sometimes I wish companies would inform you of the day of the week the guitar was made.........like I want a Wednesday guitar definitely staying away from Monday and Friday guitar's lmao great video been in the schecter army for years.t.y.
I been playing schecter since 2007 and am so thankful for that. My old boss at pizza hut was a pill head (didnt find out till he got fired) and sold me his schecter c-1+ and peavy combo amp for 4 bills. That and since they actually sell lefties, thats a big reason I rock them thangs. They have incredible quality for what you get. I do believe they offer the best bang for buck and hit way over head compared to any other brand, atleast currently and for the past decade.
I know he isn't nearly as big of a name but Aaron Marshall from intervals recently launched his am-6 and am-7 with schecter and it also looks amazing for $1400. He talks about the fact that basically whatever he requested, they basically just said sure why not. apparently they do this kind of thing often for their sponsored players which i find awesome.
I have played Schecter since 2011. I was in MN on a work project, and the Guitar Centre was my focus every weekend for well over a year. I was in guitar candy shop heaven, the like of which , back then, did not exist in the UK.They had/ have such a diverse range of guitars to choose from. I noticed a few lefties on most of the major brands, but had never heard of Schecter before. The Schecters stood out, head and shoulders above everything else. So I tried a Hell Raiser. based on build quality, the sound, playability, and what you got for your money, I ended up buying three during that year. Since then, I have added quite a few more to my armoury. As you mentioned, for every right-hand model, Schecter produces a left-hand version. Great guitars, a great and thoughtful company.
@@vinhsanity yeah I've owned and MIM strat and the have played the new player strats and this guitar is superior in every way. Killer feeling neck, awesome fret work, locking tuners, awesome pickups, smooth tremolo system, graphtech nut. This thing played like butter right out of the box.
Most comfortable guitar necks I've played, played Gibson's, epiphones, ibanez, PRS, Jackson and solar. Schecters beat all of them on comfortability for me.
I used to play my whole life some Les Paul custom Shop and a solid fender strat. Then I fell in Love with a Schecter California Custom and it changed my life.
Thanks for mentioning lefty guitar players . All you’ve said is accurate and applies to me as a lefty. Just purchased the Nick Johnston HSS, can’t wait.
I've been a player since I was 14 (2008), after trying ESP/LTD, Jackson, Fender, Samick, Epihone, Ibanez, PRS SE, Yamaha, Charvel, BC Rich, G & L, and various small name brand guitars, Schecter is that one brand that I picked up a C-1 custom and it instantly felt good, played smooth, looks sleek, and the neck action was on par with the $1000 Ibanez, LTD Deluxe, Jackson Soloist models and came with Seymour Duncan Pick-Ups. That C-1 custom was around $700 (It was a gold sundurst) and played on par with guitars going for a higher price point as I just mentioned. I was blown away at their quality feel and hardware. They have Seymour Duncan and EMG sets standard in many of their Deluxe and Custom models which is an added bonus. being a metal and country guy I was heavily surprised at their catalog, much like you made note they have hidden gems for everyone even though their main showcase are their metal guitars. I ended up getting a 2010 C-1 Custom used online back in 2018 and although I was I had the money to get one back in 2010s brand new when I was in school, I was more than happy in 2018 getting one used. The action was just as smooth as I remembered, the Seymours in it sounded mean, and the Dark blue was my favorite shade.
The first one I bought was the schecter omen. I returned it to get my family Christmas presents, and when I had the money I decided to get the schecter demon 6. Unless I get the extreme omen back the demon 6 is my trusty reliable first guitar id say. I love playing it the color is just wonderful (I got satin black) and I kinda envision it to kinda have the spirit of the extreme omen in a sense since it covers the metal aspect like I got the omen for originally.
My Blackjack SLS C-1 FR-S came from Sweetwater with PERFECT setup. Eventually I did have to get rid of the Sustainiac for practical purposes, but now it's my forever main guitar! I put a Duncan P-Rail in the front, and a TV Jones Power'Tron in the back. Both with split capability. It's SO versatile, and the action is to die for. With my Line 6 Variax JTV-69 as backup, it's all I need for any gig.
You were spot in with other brands only having a couple left handed models only in black or sunburst. Schecter is one of the only brands where lefty’s can find a variety of finishes and styles at affordable costs.
I have been buying and playing guitars for over 40 yrs and my Schecter Sun Valley super shredder is the best sounding and playing guitar that I have ever owned! They use one piece bodies so there are no glue seams visible in the gloss finish. That is important. The quality is first rate. For the price, you can`t do better than Schecter! The tone is smooth and intense with great harmonics and the sustainiac is a blast to play with and very useful. You can control the harmonic feedback to your liking with it. Three modes of sustain to choose from. Note sustain, mid harmonic sustain, or octave harmonic sustain. Flip a switch, and it delivers the goods perfectly! No more hoping to get a natural feed back from standing in front of the amp. It gives you what you want when you want it! The neck on it is a 14 inch radius but feels just like a fender strat neck. It is also a beauty to behold! The green reign finish is 3D looking and just gorgeous to behold in the light! Schecter has the goods for the pro player.
I will say, I have always played Epiphone, Gibson, and I have a Jazzmaster and wanted to get into the world of extended range/8 string guitars. Let me tell you, I tried everything from Jackson, ESP, Ibanez, etc. And I finally tried a Schecter Damien Platinum 8 and fell in love. The satin finish on the back of the neck feels great and the neck doesn't feel cheap/uncomfortable. I was surprised how quickly I got used to the feel of it considering I've played 6 strings for the last 13 years. I'm 100% looking into buying more Schecter's in the future
I have a Schecter C-1 Platinum w/ a set of EMG 81/85 pickups. The build quality is top notch and the neck profile is fast and comfortable. At Guitar Center the C-1 lists for $599. You can find a handful of them on Reverb and Guitar Center Used for just under $400, which makes them the least expensive guitar packed with a set of EMG 81/85 pickups. The pickup set alone retails for $199. By every measure, this guitar is a terrific bargain. Grab one. You'll like it.
heres the thing. I agree. but you know the whole argument of EMG, love em or hate em. but man their super rock II pickups kick some ass. and they got em with either usually.
@@alexlandsbergs If you like the EMG's, pull 'em out, sell 'em and put in whatever you want. The rest of the guitar is still top notch with or without EMGs. =)
@@RobertCorrington my point is that they usually have the option for guitars with other pickups. rather than getting one with emg's and uninstalling em.
I'd love to get my hands on the C-1 SLS Elite and play the hell out of that thing. You should have one for your channel! Though I've never owned a Schecter before as the neck thickness turned me off. It was too thick for me. Dunno about the new models though.
Just bought a 2015 hellraiser hybrid solo ii in the rare trans purple burst. Carbon fibre binding , tone pro bridge and saddle, locking schecter tuners, compound radius neck and emg 57/66 pickups ...used, immaculate £450.00.....unbeatable value for the immense quality and playability
I’ve had a Schecter Omen Extreme 6 for about 7 yrs now and I love it. Quality components, nice quilted maple top, and other premium features not so common for midrange guitars. Plus coil tapping humbuckers and dedicated volume knobs for neck and bridge pickups make this a very versatile option for sonic possibilities not just for metal (although that is my style of choice). Even though I got mine at guitar center, out of the box the action and intonation was actually spot on 👍🏼
Hunter, I am the proud owner of a 2003 Schecter C-1 Élite. I is the best guitar I have ever had. It's somewhat like a PRS in that it attempt to marry Les-Paul-derived features to features garnered from the Strat. I also had a Schecter Omen 6, which might have been unusual with its use of a stop tailpiece instead of stringing through the body. I liked that because I wrap my strings over the top of the tailpiece like Zakk Wylde. Sadly, I had to sell that one -- but I liked it. I have read in guitar mags that Schecter has some of their guitars built in the same South Korean factory that ESP/LTD uses. That might explain much about Schecter's level of quality.😎❤️️🎸‼️
As a DRUMMER that always messed around with guitar and bass...schecter actually got me INTO guitar . My platinum c1 inspired me to learn how to chug and shred. That and my ltd h200. Let's not even start with schecter bass guitars. Crazy quality. Like agu said...schecter and ltd really have the keys to bang for your buck
I’m 60 and I’ve been playing for 45 years. I almost bought a PRS, but I decided to look a Schecter. They’re less than half the price, but when I fist started playing, Schecter were THE Strats to get. Schecter offers a great deal for the money.
I have 2 Schecters. The C1 SLS Elite and the C7. They are both absolutely insane for their price, i wouldnt change a thing about the C1, its so well specced its insane. The only thing, i'd change about the C7 is probably the pickups put thats just preference
I own one schecter that I played on a whom at a guitar store and walked out with because it was amazing. Right in the $700 price point. It's still my go to studio guitar because it's just so freaking solid!
Another point for us lefties with Schecter is although what they show available on their site for left handed isn't all they have available. Pretty much every production model guitar can be made lefty at no extra cost.
I own the Schecter Diamond Series C-1 platinum and its an excellent guitar. Bought it for $400.00 with a Boss Katana amp $200.00 and can't be happier with this rig.
I just bought a PT SLS EVIL TWIN and it’s an absolutely insane guitar. I love Tele style guitars and wanted one for metal and punk and this guitar is it. The neck is fast and easy to play. The Fishman Fluence pups sound amazing and the splitting function produces even more fantastic tones. It also does beautiful clean tones. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. I never would have thought that I would own a Schecter but here I am loving it 🤘🏻
Ill agree with this heavily, they had a great reputation, price point and quality before I worked in music instrument retail and when I started I was shocked at how few people would try them out. They're amazing!
I’ve owned many guitars over the years - Gibson, Fenders, PRS’s, Jacksons, Ibanezes, ESP’s and Music Mans. Schecters have, by far been my favorites to own. My first was is a C7 ATX Blackjack and after I did my pickup swap, it’s my favorite I’ve ever owned. Even my USA Jackson doesn’t win out. I’ve owned two schecter basses too and while one of them got stolen and the other was sold (I got a great deal on a Stingray), Schecter basses are still top of my list when I look at picking up a new one and I’m probably gonna buy a new one by the end of the year.
went to a guitar store and a omega 6 and peavey backstage 2 is what they hooked me up with when i asked for a good beginner guitar and amp. sold everything to me for 400. still do not regret my decision.
Looks. Sound. Playability and smoothness. Quality. Equal to the high end names for a more reasonable price. And Schecter doesn't discriminate against lefties as much as other brands. My BlackJack SLS is my go to and my C7 Elite is a stellar workhorse.
@@RichVandewhatever i'm a bassist so i've never touched their guitars-- But I got their thunderbass and I literally can't find something it won't play, i've done funk, jazz, metal, blues, grunge. The thing's just a tonal monster.
Best thing about Schecter...you can get them on Reverb for about 40% lower than actual retail prices. Just looked at the Omen model, $400 new, $200 used. Hellraiser, $950 new, $450 used. Banshee, $549 new, $420 used. That's a few today (when I wrote this). You can buy the used ones with Affirm payments. Moral of the story, if you buy a Schecter DO NOT buy it brand new unless you are looking for a good return policy.
I bought a Schecter SLS Elite at around Christmas and for months after everything else gathered dust. Unfortunately I gave it to a luthier (it's b-stock so it has some buzz) along with my ESP SC 608B and a Yamaha acoustic I wanted the action lowered on over 3 weeks ago now and the next day our country went into lockdown. I won't see it for another two weeks unless there's another lockdown extension. :( Had to dust off my trusty Ibanez.
Last time I went guitar shopping, I picked up a Shecter Banshee. It looked the part, felt pretty nice. But when I plugged it in, the sound just wasn't....great. I ended up getting a PRS SE Custom 24 and I love that thing to death
I have a Schecter S1 Elite that I bought years ago and love. I bought it from another player and just remembered it playing great. When I bought it I thought it was a C1 Hellraiser because the appointments are similar. When I got it it played really well and over time I learned to adjust the pole screws on the humbuckers and relocated the strap button to the back like an SG. That's what my Schecter is, it is somewhere between an SG and a Les Paul. To be honest, I am way happier with the Schecter than any Gibson I have owned or played. I do have an Ltd Viper that stands in for a Les Paul. Honestly I bought both used and upgraded them to what I want. I am way happier with my Schter than most professional guitars that I play. The funny thing is I am mainly a Tele guy and also play hollow bodies.😎👍✨
I LOVE My Schecter C-1 Platinum FR S. It sounds and plays amazing. Another great part about Schecter is the price point of the used market Schecters. You can get almost new Schecters on the used market dirt cheap.
Working on some big projects coming up, but at the same time the quarantine combo is starting to slip nooooooo 🙃 What brand should we cover next?

Meaning, a 3-400 dollar Schecter is comparable to many other 5-700 dollar guitars, 5-600 dollar Schecters are like 800 dollar competitors and so forth. Of course not in every case, but as I said, it's a good rule of thumb. I'm surprised it took me this long to become loyal to one company, but with all those years behind me I learned a lot. Schecter for me, all the way.
Hello
I'm semi begginer 50 yo..
I play alone with epiphone casino p90s
Do you think Sheckter solo 6 is a good choice
For blues and hard rock?
There is a second hand near me
Thank you
@@dimitrisaivaliotis5616 , Absolutely. If you've been playing a Casino, I think you'll like the Solo 6.
@@davesmith6794 thank you 😊 Dave
Now I understand why everyone needs more than one quitar..
Hhhhaaa
@@dimitrisaivaliotis5616 Hell yes!! On paper the features you get would cost exactly double what you'd pay for Gibson, PRS, Les Paul. They look awesome too so you'll have to pick it up when you walk by. Last don't associate it with just metal. They've been around for a while and many classic rock guitarists used Schecter.
Robert Smith from The Cure has played a Schecter signature model for years, speaking of non metal Schecter players. Mark Knopfler as well.
Prince also was Schecter player
@@se2018 as are the guys from Seether. Two of the guys have their own schecter models. One a bass and the other a normal 6 string with Shaun (the vocalists) paint job and look he picked out. Schecter basses are I'm told to be very great bases but a bit different than other brands how they work.
I was surprised at the Knophler comment but I looked it up and your right. Love Knophler and Smith.
Schecter PT model, PT stands for Pete Townshend (The Who)
Schecter's quality is top notch, even their cheapest instruments are excellent. Phenomenal basses, too.
I literally just bought a schecter bass today: the stiletto stealth 5! Cant wait to get it in my hands
Same here, I’ve played all kinds of 7 string C1s and 6 string schecters, I’ve owned at least 6. Not a single one was bad
Is there anything written under your serial number? I getting an ‘03 C-1+ tomorrow but I’m thinking it’s a knockoff
Schecter has been making amazing Strats and Teles since 70es, and they still do. If not well informed people think they are a metal based brand it's their fault I guess
Yeah, they started as a custom shop, so that kinda helped to build the variety of options they have
WTF? Never knew they had a lot of vintage-inspired guitars. This changes everything.
Same. I will have to look into this, as my playing style is slowly getting more into jazz and oldies.
@@samanthaadams619 so, did you buy it?
can you do quick review pls?
is it good enough for outside metal genre?
@@alessandro9740 Look at the other comments. They've been around longer than metal. I never would have guessed Mark Knopfler uses one.
i got my first Schecter guitar a while back, it was also my first 7-string and it is my favorite guitar! the quality is amazing, everything was perfect when i got it and it’s just overall a great feeling guitar!
it’s a Schecter Diamond Series Hellraiser C-7
it was also a used guitar
One thing to mention about Schecter´s in house pickups:
Schecter was originally a replacement parts and aftermarket pickup shop in the 70s,similar to S.Duncan or Dimarzio.
I got a schecter last week and I can’t put it down it was a schecter c1 elite dimond series in orange and it is amazing I highly recommend it
I love Shecter, i have a hellraiser with sustainac and Seymour duncan pickups and is fantastic.
my first ever guitar i bought in 2013 was a schecter sgr c-1 it cost £179 and it is an incredible instrument for the price point i still regularly play it today even out of my 12+ guitar collection
I've been a fan of Schecter guitars for decades now and I own one. They are excellent values and they do their own thing as a company. They make very good pickups too.
I just realized that Syn's signature guitar is a reversed mockingbird
Schecter sends a sms "Stop it right there!"
I always thourght it was based on the Teisco Spectrum 5, they have the exact same shape
@@soulfare333 Actually it's a Robin Machete Pro, he owns 2 (1 with star inlays).
The Blackjack Avenger (Aquaburst) version of this guitar is AWESOME!
EMG + Sustainiac = very happy ambient player.
a non metal player appreciating EMG pickups, feels good
Try the schecter baritone hellraiser or pt both are amazing
Slowly waiting for the ESP Time's to shine.
The best guitar maker
Completely agree
hisatake shibuya owns ESP, and schecter.
Used to love Esp till I realized their Indonesian $800 guitar's < schecters $600 Korean guitars...
TRH Did you test it?
I find Ibanez, Schecter, ESP LTD, and Epiphone are my fav's for bang for the buck guitars.
superjet113 to an extent I feel like Ibanez you’re paying partly for the name.
But I agree on the others.
Us lefties get ALL OF THE LOVE from Schecter. Brings my left handed heart such joy!
When it comes to price, you truly get what/more than what you pay for, nothing will match their everyday quality.
sick guitar! Congrats! what color?
If I didn’t rock Schecter that esp would be the go to.
Sometimes I wish companies would inform you of the day of the week the guitar was made.........like I want a Wednesday guitar definitely staying away from Monday and Friday guitar's lmao great video been in the schecter army for years.t.y.
lmaooo
Have two and they sound ausome, stay in tune and play great.
I recently got the nick Johnston diamond series S type guitar, and it's one of the best playing guitars I've layed hands on. Super versatile as well.
stop convincing me that I need another schecter lol.
Oh man, my finger has been on the trigger for one of those for months. One of these days I'm gonna twitch and end up buying one. XD
I was looking at adding an s-style guitar to my collection and was between that and a MiM Strat. Is it worth it?
@@vinhsanity The NJ model is going to be a million miles ahead of a MiM Strat, even though the Players are Fender's best in a long time.
I got my Schecter for 600 bucks, with a set of EMG 81-85’s, Grover tuners, and a neck through body, now that’s bang for your buck
The Schecter PT Fastback Gold feels like serious competition to the Fender Chris Shiflett Tele Deluxe.
Its a beautiful guitar.
Most comfortable guitar necks I've played, played Gibson's, epiphones, ibanez, PRS, Jackson and solar. Schecters beat all of them on comfortability for me.
You should try an ESP.... :)
Do LTD/ESP next! I feel like your either an Ibanez or LTD I’m personally LTD all the way!
I've got both a Jem and ESP's, but I get what you're saying.
I used to play my whole life some Les Paul custom Shop and a solid fender strat. Then I fell in Love with a Schecter California Custom and it changed my life.
I own a Jeff Loomis 7 string and that thing is awesome! could do without the really thick archtop, but for a first 7 string, I love it to death.
Thanks for mentioning lefty guitar players . All you’ve said is accurate and applies to me as a lefty. Just purchased the Nick Johnston HSS, can’t wait.
I was nearly sold when I saw Abbath Doom Occulta has a signature series with them. Lol. I wonder if it makes you crab walk better.
My first ever guitar was a Schecter Demon 6 in a Walnut finish. Loved that guitar and I hope to own another Schecter soon.
I bought a Schecter off the wall at guitar center and didn't have to do anything to it. Set up was perfect.
I own a C-7 and it's a wicked guitar. It just has a great sound to it, and it feels great to play.
That purple finish is amazing, it would look priceless mounted on a wall
They make 7string hollow bodies. Badass
Hey, Panda from the future here. They currently have 74 left handed options on their website. I am in HEAVEN 🤤
It's not really a surprise they're a similar quality to LTDs; they're made in the same factory.
1:02 my first band mate 20 years ago had a C1 …. I could tell they were quality… I have a 5 string shechter bass that I love with all my heart
Some parts of the video felt like a paid promotion. But still thinking it's not. Great content as always.
I mean I’m just recapping and expanding on your most popular answers. If you guys were paid by Schecter, I know nothing about that lol 😂
I'd love to get my hands on the C-1 SLS Elite and play the hell out of that thing. You should have one for your channel! Though I've never owned a Schecter before as the neck thickness turned me off. It was too thick for me. Dunno about the new models though.
yes!! they take care of us leftys
Which one did you get?
Another point for us lefties with Schecter is although what they show available on their site for left handed isn't all they have available. Pretty much every production model guitar can be made lefty at no extra cost.
Just got my " high intergrity" shirt yesterday. 🤘 keep on rockin
I never would have thought that I would own a Schecter but here I am loving it 🤘🏻
i want a 7 string flying v hellraiser guitar.

Just go to drumcityguitarland.com im sure they'll have it.
Do you mean actual ESP's, or LTD's?
went to a guitar store and a omega 6 and peavey backstage 2 is what they hooked me up with when i asked for a good beginner guitar and amp. sold everything to me for 400. still do not regret my decision.
I have 2 Damien Elites, 2013 and 2014 and out of my 20+ guitars, those two are my true loves.
Looks. Sound. Playability and smoothness. Quality. Equal to the high end names for a more reasonable price. And Schecter doesn't discriminate against lefties as much as other brands.
My BlackJack SLS is my go to and my C7 Elite is a stellar workhorse.
You should check out Reverend guitars, they're amazing quality and very under appreciated.
They've got some pretty cool looking models, never played one though.
Reverend guitars. Amen brother.
Totally agree- it's actually hard to get a sense of what they sound like compared to other guitars from the reviews online currently.
annnnnd headquartered down the street from my house so they're rad for that.
Moral of the story, if you buy a Schecter DO NOT buy it brand new unless you are looking for a good return policy.
good advice, but if we don't buy new ones, they will go out of business...
Wow never knew schecter had such a diverse lineup!
Had to dust off my trusty Ibanez.
I have multiple Shecters. Love them
Well youD think I'd at least spell it right.
@herb stomp completely agree
Last time I went guitar shopping, I picked up a Shecter Banshee. It looked the part, felt pretty nice. But when I plugged it in, the sound just wasn't....great. I ended up getting a PRS SE Custom 24 and I love that thing to death
The se's are surprisingly good. I've never played one that I didn't like.
just bought a Schechter Tempest Custom today, but I also ordered a set of PRS 57/08 Pick ups to immediately put into it when I get it next week.
I bought a Schecter C7 Hellraiser back in 2008 and it's been my main guitar since.
I have a 2006 Diamond Series Raider that still jams in 2023. Schecter rocks.
I just bought an Omen 6 Extreme and am super hyped for it to arrive! This video just hyped me up more
