For anyone who may be watching this I FINALLY got myself a 7 string in the charcoal finish that Rabea has. What I will say is that mine is a LOT darker than the one in the video. Almost like it's ambered over/aged and the same goes for the head stock. Personal preference but I think it looks fantastic as it is. Other than that there's no surprises in quality, sound and playability compared to what's in the video.
I have the same issue with my Schecter. The color is so much darker in person than on the website. I'd of rather had the color of the one Rabea is playing. It's so dark.. I have 5 Schecters now and don't have any issue with the color on any of them. Schecter is my new habit....

Have you played the Omen Elite, if so how does it compare to the Reaper 6? I think they have the Hot Rod version of the Floyd Rose on the Omen Elite which I think it's supposed to be more robust.
Never block off a floyd when they make trem stabilizers. There's several ways to set them up. You can set them up where they only add a little extra stability, and you don't need to be a body builder to operate the floyd, or you can set it up where its really hard to move, but you can still use the floyd and even downtune strings
I see, bea or chappers in the thumbnail or a treat to the word blindfold and instantly click. Think bea and the captain make a great combo, love your vids have lost days worth of hours in lockdown watching the back catalogue

Why is Schecter soooo underated? They seem to made great instruments for every budget. I've got the Omen Elite 7 Multi-scale and its a proper mid-range beast.
I have one ordered too but sadly i couldn't get the charcoal cause its sold out everywhere and is on back order. I ended up getting the red one. But still pretty excited

I have a HM squier strat I picked up a few months back, first fr I've ever owned. Took about a week learning and fiddling and now it stays in perfect tune permanently, I love it. Have it tuned to Eb for shreddy 80s metal. Awesome.
I bought an Omen Extreme last year on a whim. The build quality for the price was fantastic, but the pickups were terrible and I returned it. These sound so much better. May have to revisit this one.

A year later, Floyd’s family moved from Durango, Colorado to Reno, Nevada, and he received his first tremolo-equipped guitar, a 1964 Fender Jazzmaster. Having grown up a fan of the Beach Boys and the Ventures, he found himself making ample use of his whammy bar, which only increased into the late 60’s and early 70’s as he found inspiration in Hendrix’s performance at Woodstock, and in watching Ritchie Blackmore play in Sacramento. Picked up my 7 string omen yesterday and remembered how much I love playing the thing probably more so than my very nice Ltd koa. My just feels great would love one of these elite series
I've had a Diamond Series Omen 6 for a couple of years now and it's still amazing to play - got it second hand for £150 as well so it was an ABSOLUTE Bargainnn :3
it was Steve Vai who got me into 7 string stuff with his song Weeping China Doll, that's why i wanted to get a 7 string with a floyd rose and i struck gold when i found a 2nd hand Steve Vai Universe in a store for £700

So I opened my Ibanez cheap floyd in the back , change the 9s for 10s, put another spring in, fixed the truss rod, checked the intonation, tuned down a step and after a week of tension and humidity I am ready to down metal!!! Or I could buy this new Schecter 7 and be amazingly ok and all mighty metal!!!! Thanks!!
Ive been rewatching some of the sound like videos recently and wondering what the future of them would be. So to hear that theyre coming back was an unexpected but an extremely wonderful surprise.
Another great video, thank you. The tuning may be a result of new strings. If I give them a good stretch and play a bit before locking them down I usually don't have any issues with staying in tune.
For a minute there at the end I thought rabea was offski . 😳 . You have to give Lee credit for the attempt in the intro , was never going to keep up or stand a chance with that sound sitting next to rebea 😂
One more piece of related trivia for you.... the film The Omen, was the inspiration for the song The Number of the Beast, by none other than Mr. Steve Harris of Iron Maiden!
Back in 2015 when I was planning my return to guitar playing I wanted a Sphincter butt ended up getting a PRS. Sphincter just put out some great guitars one year and then pulled all of the floyd rose ones the following year. Thanks Paul!
Floyd Rose, back in the day, licensed initial high-end production units from Schaller in Germany, but now builds his own stuff as well as allowing Schaller to continue their production. The Schaller version used to be the 'nice one', but not as much since they've further licensed out their production to some companies not in Germany that have been playing 'catch up' for a number of years. Not sure as to their current standing, but I prefer, since the money's about the same for such, to go with the actual Floyd Rose models, even thought the Schaller version has a slightly smaller perimeter due to use of a slightly different geometry around the fine tuners and locking screws. The lower cost variants offered from both companies are equally useless.

I just purchased the omen extreme 6 and these sound much better. My guitar plays amazing but the stock pickups leave a ton to be desired!
