I prefer the explorer over quest because you have to jump through far fewer hoops to get any value
In the explorer you have to travel at least once a year. In that you simply check a bag both ways, go to the lounge with your one time passes and the savings already more than exceed the $95 annual fee
If you bring someone and you both check a bag the savings alone exceed the annual fee
The Explorer is definitely better for the less frequent United traveler.
Also they associate with Marriot you can use your miles to transfer to Marriot and the luggage is more money especially if is international flight ✈️ it can cost up to $100 for outside the United States

Only bummer is, you have to purchase the airfare ticket with the card in order to get the free bags. Not ideal if you are looking to use a card with travel protections. I'm on year 3 with the card and have no issues breaking even with the annual fee. I did get a $100 retention credit this last go round.

I just updated my united airlines explorer card to the united airlines quest card because I feel that you can get better states on the quest card over the explorer card

I have had the United Explorer card for 2 months and late I realized that the Quest card was the best for me, how long should I wait to upgrade from explorer to quest, what would happen to the points earned and the entry bonus I earned, And if they accept the upgrade I would be eligible for the entry bonus of the new card, thank you very much
You can do it as soon as you would like. You will keep all your points. However, you will not be eligible for the bonus for the United Quest.

Question.. can you transfer chase UR points to united. Use points on a trip. Then does that trgger the 5k credit?
How does this card deal with points you may have from the united business card. Same situation in that points earned not with quest card

Yes, you can transfer UR points to United. Yes, booking a United flight with your miles will trigger the 5K bonus. Miles earned on your United business card will be combined in your United account with miles earned with any other United card you may have. I hope I answered everything.

The card sucks. The apr was 29.99 and my credit score is 800. I canceled after I had had enough points to get a free flight. Don’t do business with Chase..
What happened?
pay off your bill monthly and you don't have to worry about the 29.99% interest rate.
You don't use travel cards without paying them off every month .if you can't do that don't use this type of card.
