My Dad was 85 and I was 30 when I got married... he had dementia and we weren't sure how "with it" he would be. So we danced to his favorite song: Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller. No matter how out of it he was, if we put on Glenn Miller he would come back to reality. He died less than 2 years later, I still listen to that song sometimes and remember that wonderful day
My dad played butterfly kisses for me as a little kid but we haven’t listened to or talked about it since then but I’ve always remembered. I’m going to surprise him with this as our dance song and he’s going to lose it ❤️ Can’t wait.

Perhaps what you can do is: Film your remaining time with your Dad, and have it edited, and have it played it as you dance with either your brother(s) or male family member while you relive those final moments, and revisit memories you made with your Dad. Even play some of the conversation with your Dad about your wedding, and his favorite memories of you. God bless you and I pray your Dad does make it to your special day!
I picked Butterfly Kisses for one of my daughters and My Little Girl for the other. Both got married 3 years ago.

What a Wonderful World should be number one. It’s litetally the perfect song for any occasion. It would work just as well at a funeral as it would at a wedding, perfect for the couple or for the father and bride, a perfect lullaby, never will there be a more versatile song that manages to be so simple and sweet.

We started with a little "Butterfly Kisses" as a joke, then jumped into "Fun, Fun, Fun" and "Wild Thing". Finished up with Joe Cocker and "You are so Beautiful", not a dry eye in the house.
Damn right Butterfly Kisses is first. I heard that song way back when I was a little girl in the 90s and said to myself, "THAT is what I am dancing to with my father when I get married!" about 20 years later that's exactly what I did.

My dad passed away shortly before my 1 year anniversary. It’s been almost 10 years and when that song comes on the radio I still have to pull my car over so I don’t crash because I am sobbing so hard. I love the song and I miss my dad. It was the perfect song for us to dance to. ❤️

Sorry for your loss. There are songs that do that to me too. One that always gets me is "How Can Help You To Say Good Bye?" I think it's a Patti Loveless song? It came out at the same time as my maternal grandma died (I was 12 at the time) and that song always gets me emotional 24 years later.

Sadly, we didn't have a Father/Daughter dance at my wedding, but if I had, I would have chosen "Daddy's Hands" by Holly Dunn. It's kind of the reverse of most of the songs on this list, as it's the observations of a father by his daughter. The song also fits MY father to a T; it could have been written about him. (Side note: I did have to laugh when I saw "Isn't She Lovely" on the list. Our first daughter was born 2 months after our 17th anniversary, so she was a long-time coming and an unexpected blessing. Neither my husband nor I had heard that song for YEARS...but then, less than a week after we found out we were having a girl, this song was playing EVERYWHERE! It popped up on the radio, in stores, even in a restaurant we ate at!)

When I finally get married, I want my dance with my dad to be “I loved her first”. At this point it makes me BAWL and I know it wouldn’t be any different that day. I’m just hoping that I get married before anything happens to my dad (he’s already 67 ) and I hope we will be able to dance, because with his arthritis, and the fact there is 5 pounds of brass in his knee, I don’t know if he will be able to. I have never really gotten to dance with my dad so it would mean everything to me. Knowing how stubborn dad is, no matter what he will probably at least try to dance with me. Love you daddy!

In exactly 1 month and 8 days from today (6/5/2019), on 7/13/2019, I'll be dancing to "My Little Girl" with my dad on my wedding day. I had it narrowed down to "Stealing Cinderella" (Chuck Wicks), "Ready Set Don't Go" (Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus), and "My Little Girl" (Tim McGraw). "My Little Girl" fits me and my dad more than the other two do.
My dad and I walked down the aisle to I loved her first. As did my mom and grandfather due to him being there the first couple of years. My dad and I danced to my little girl.

Stevie Wonder sure knows how to write a song about family.
He may not be the greatest person in the world but it's astonishing not to see Daughters by John Mayer on this list. That is one of the first Father/Daughter dance songs I think of.
I have always what the song "I loved her first" there is so many meanings in that song that is perfect and many memories .
I loved her first was my Father/daughter dance at my wedding. Listening to the Female “Mother” version of gets me in the feels as my 2 oldest daughters are both engaged

I love both of my parents, but I am a daddy's girl and even though I am single, I still hope to find someone as great as my dad. He and I share a love for country music so it definitely be a classic country song (he doesn't like modern country since there's too much rock/pop in it now and you can't do a Texas two step to them). I'd pick #2 out of these, but I'd worry I would ruin my make up lol.

I fell in love with Butterfly Kisses when I first heard it and knew this was going to be my first dance song when my daughter got married. Alas, never had one. Oh well. Back to the list, I'd recommend Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." I'd lean towards the Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson version but ain't hating on John Legend and Ariana Grande.

How on Earth could you not have Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman on this list?! That is the most emotional Father/Daughter dance song I have ever heard and it has been used at multiple weddings. I'm genuinely more than a little disappointed considering I suggested this list like 5 years ago and had a lot more songs that were suggested but didn't make it.
