Sweet little "parking lot car" as my youngest son and I called them about 16 years ago when we bought a Tamiya kit car, built and raced it on weekends. It ran on those 6-pack of expensive ni-cad batteries that we soldered together and then used Shoe-Goo to glue the pack together. Hahaha - How times have changed, my friends. Great video and review! Popeye was a hoot as usual, too! JP
I've done that "walk the car" with my WL 12428. Good fun to be had with an RC. Street cars can definitely be fun, if you have good condition road to drive them on. It reminds me of that "Pro-Speed" street car with LOW-slung ground clearance I had growing up. (It had a motor overheat light on the back of it...) Never was able to open the thing up, as the streets I grew up on were always so torn up. My current street that I live on is no better. Looks a lot like yours, if yours was concrete.
Would be fun to have a pair, and a big smooth concrete pad to race them on. Wouldn't work for me... the only road near me is pretty high traffic with a lot of big trucks, and I found out from experience that if you fall down (which I did once) they WILL NOT slow down just because you're laying in the road. And the nearest concrete or sidewalks is 15 miles away. -- I have read that if you soak Lexan bodies in WD-40 it won't crack near as easy in cold weather. I've never put that to the test because it never gets that cold here.
How are Gearbest shipping times? A few weeks, or you forgot you even ordered it by the time it arrives? 🐌 I do like the look of the car though. That’s a good one for the price.
Not a bad little car for the price. I like the fact that it's just rear wheel drive so you can spin it around ;-) I wonder if you can use a 2S LIPO in this car? Thanks for the video and Happy Driving!
Guys! Thanks so much for your all your great videos! I just got my first quad H501SS- X4 :) (black) all batteries are charged ready for the first flight tomorrow! Really excited!
Nice looking street car. Not to slow, not so fast, just right. Goldilocks would love it.☺. 🐶Popeye was just so happy to finally get in on a test video.🙃. NICE CAR ,GREAT POPEYE approved run.👍
Hey Nate, how many mini screw drivers do you have now? Popeye shure was excited! I can see that being my new grandson's first car. I like the compact design. I knew Abby would let Popeye go after that. Wow guys,We really got blasted yesterday with Snow. Can I send you some? We now have a foot on the ground. No doubt about a white Christmas here!
Don’t worry about being rough on it. Think about a parent buying this for a child. That child is going to be rough on it too. If it can take a pounding, that’s a positive.
Popeye the best RC dog eva! LOL Gotta love that lil dog! They copied the mustang front and rear. The sides not so much . Good 1st street car for practice i bet .
At $50, it seems a little overpriced for what it delivers. However, I see it is on sale for $43, which helps. Unless one is really committed to going with a street car, I think a similarly priced off-road buggy is a better option. Just not sure the snazzy appearance can compensate for the car’s underwhelming performance and surface restrictions. I think I would get bored with it rather quickly. Might be a fair option for kids provided they have a safe place to run it, like a skate park, basketball court, or gymnasium. Not out in the street, though! Poor Popeye. Hurry up and wait syndrome strikes again. On the leash, so it’s time to GO, not talk! Hehe.
Thank you both for the video again! Love that you have a bit more of Popeye in the video! Question though: You mentioned putting in larger batteries BUT how do you know what size the motor can take? I've heard of people burning out/damaging their RC ground vehicles by putting in batteries that were too powerful.
Good question about the batteries. As long as your voltage isn't any higher you should be safe :) Go for a higher Mah rating and you will just get a longer run time :)
TheRcSaylors Thanks for the great tip! Is that pretty much true for both brushed and brushless motors and the components that run them and any accessories that run off the main battery connection?
Sadly these inexpensive chinese cars are all copies of legitamate rc cars designed elsewhere in the world. Problem is these knockoffs have put many of the big names (HPI, Novak, etc) out of business. The car looks like it handles horribly, the RWD makes it want to continually spin out.. I say no thanks. Also shocks should not allow a car to bounce.
It does look like a nice road car, and it is a decent price! The tail lights certainly are Mustang style...you have the red version, but I just looked at the Gear Best website, and saw the yellow version. That really brought to mind the Mustang BOSS, which is a classic muscle car. A friend of my Uncle Rick had a yellow Mustang BOSS...and it was very nice little beast. Great video!
Nice street car! Maybe the cold weather shortened the battery life!
I think it definitely did :/
Not quite "Abby" grade since she broke it but looks like a lot of fun. If you put a better battery in it would it be controllable?
Nate an Abby if you guys get snow how about doing a RC snowmobile ???
Wray Smith
yeahhh
for sure

That's exactly right! Made for the parking lot for sure :) Wish I could have been there to see your custom home made batteries!

The puppy is nice.
hey how about after the running video for any rc, how about saying if its dope or nope... thanks!
LOL @ Popeye pissing on the neighbour's bush instead of chasing the R/C!!! :-D
that's some cool body-on-frame RR car
How fast does it go?
Link dosnt work in description
Can you put higher rated battery like you can with drones?
Wouldn't want to go much higher at all, as it may burn up your ESC or even your motor! You can go higher Mah though, for a longer run time :)
Great way to walk the dog :)
Does it come fully assembled some please answer me?
Yes it does :)
This car is about the perfect speed for your dog
That is a cool car . very good video
How are Gearbest shipping times? A few weeks, or you forgot you even ordered it by the time it arrives? 🐌 I do like the look of the car though. That’s a good one for the price.
It looks like the s911/s912 chassis with small tires and a different body. Those are also around $50
Orion VanNortwick ...same truck ..bought 3 for my kids and the gearboxes die real quick unfortunately
Not a bad little car for the price. I like the fact that it's just rear wheel drive so you can spin it around ;-) I wonder if you can use a 2S LIPO in this car? Thanks for the video and Happy Driving!
Cool little car guys
:-D
Alright Abby,Nate and popeye can you do a video on how to overwinter the LiPo batteries please
Looks amazing nate and abby nice video
Thanks Bicycle :)
What size is the Motor is it a 380 or a 540.
The frame/suspension/chassis look almost identical to the GP Toys S912, though the S912 has a bigger battery, motor and wheels.
I like that in popeye watering the bushes...lol..
;-D
Like the sleek design of the car. Excellent video Nate, Abby, & Popeye!! :)

Don’t worry about being rough on it. Think about a parent buying this for a child. That child is going to be rough on it too. If it can take a pounding, that’s a positive.

I'm going to hold on to mine for a while. Definitely not selling it any time soon :)
Didn't appreciate the dog in way the hole time im trying to see if is worth the 50 buck!!!

Looks good but drives slow lol but good video :) oh and by the way, you’ve done another RC “Car” review before. You did the Lamborghini car review! (:
Lol that is true about the Lambo. Almost forgot ;) Not sure if that one really counts though... Hahaha!
Great video, needed my RC Saylors fix. And Popeye stole the show.
Lol I think Popeye had more fun with it than you guys :)
My dog tries to bite the tires of my rc car too
:-D
