Yokomo yd2 rear wheel drive, pro drifter, easier to drift, technically all wheel drive is power sliding. Rear wheel drive are what the pros are using to drift, I’m not trolling, It’s not that serious, Love your shows, keep it up

a good alternative is the 3racing sakura d5s i think rwd setup needs a bit more tinkering on the suspension to get it just right

4WD? Professional Drift Car? That's a long time ago. I'm one of the rare guy's who keep CS-drifting for fun. But professional at this time is RWD.

8 just like to share that I bought a rc drift car around 2012 and I still have it,. It was EPIC... D-MISSION from hobby king. So much fun. At that time drift rc cars were 4wd, now is just rear driven. Big hug to all. Epic!

3Racing Sakura D5S its a good real rwd rc drifter if you want to test out rc drifting. It comes as a Kit, you'll need a body and electronics to complete the build.
How does it compare driving wise to a yokomo or something more exspensive.
@@mbsanocki88 setup is a bit more not out of the box ready needs some tuning (its what most guys in my area run since we cant get yokomos to the same level of accessibility)

I agree a Yokomo YD2 kit would be the best option or an MST RMX 2.0 RTR. RWD with a gyro is more fun with better angle.

Who cares? 😂 the drift community uses a gyroscope. This is embarrassing to me. 50% of the work is done by the computer. in 4WD, at least 100% of the movements are made by the driver.

I’ve got two of these, there actually super fun!! I’ve also converted one of them to a RWD chassis as well. Not bad for a chassis costing less than $150

I am no expert by a longshot, but ive done some RC drifting a bunch. I own a sakura d5 and its great even though its on the cheaper side of the RWD rc kits. Knowing what I know now though, I probably wouldve went with a Yokomo YD2 series car. They have more options available that are direct fit and more of a following behind the brand. Love the drifting content kev, even if its just power sliding ;)
I’m seriously thinking about a Sakura d5, is it worth it? I’m trying to make a build around $400
@@2smallgarage268 Yea. If you have 400$, and for sure want a RWD drifter, it’s a great deal. But it doesn’t compare to a YD2 with proper electronics. Just know that ur skill ceiling isn’t that high with a D5 chasis. At least without modification of course

Would be cool , but I don’t think they are allowed to in the comp drift so it’s not common practice.

Gyros are semi allowed in comp they have to be set to a certain point I run the MST rmx fully custom carbon and aluminium build

I have the touring version of this model the brand is called Blaze and the model R2 ! The car is based on xray t4 2014-2018 not exactly on one model ! For the price its a good model al though you can't compare it to carbon fiber cars! For stock classes it can hold a bit, for modified class tho not a chance you need a lot of upgrades from xray to run properly! First of all, driveshafts secondly shocks thirdly you need to mod the plastic spur mount and motor mount in order to achieve certain gear ratios for small to medium tracks ! For drift car it migth be good i dont know ! Let me know if you have any questions!

I’ve only just got into rc cars and bought my first one, I got a hsp flying fish with an brushless motor . It’s awesome but I find that it’s way too fast, any suggestions on different brands or even certain parts that could make it feel a little more “natural” would be appreciated

4wd is cool, but for more realistic rc drifting do a rwd chassis. There are budget rwd chassis’ that work very well just like the big dollar chassis’. Sick vid 🤘🏼

@@rx7s. There are RTR chassis’ like the rmx 2.0 which comes with all electronics and controller for $375. Or you can get a Sakura d5 for $100 without electronics and build it with your choice of electronics.

Go RWD for decent drift car. Either sakura d5 or mst rmx 2.0 or yokomo yd2. All great beginner drift chassis.
And don't forget a gyro as well
Just take the center drive shaft out, on most of them that works

This might be a little unrelated but I will really appreciate your feedback.
I have bought a relatively cheap toy car and I can see the battery pack removed and replaced with li-ion 3.7v. The battery cavity has righting of 4.8v so it seems that it originally takes 4 AA batteries.
My question is, is li-ion 3.7v better than 4 AA rechargeable 1.2V?
I have tons of varta rechargeable AA 3700mah and I feel like getting a box and putting 4 AA in it like originally intended will be better than buying li-ion and charger for it. And I think the maximum li-ion capacity would be around 3000mah and I have to get a legit one to avoid fire.

Kevin. You should get a Sakura D5 very cheap for a good pro drift chassis.
You would be then welcome to come to Slidehouse in Spalding and we can give advice on setup. We have the UK's only P-Tile Surface.

Learning how to properly drift a rwd drift takes some skill. Drifting in an awd drift car would be power sliding. I have an RMX 2.0 and it’s a blast. So many upgrades to personalize your drift car. This winter I plan on honing my drift skills at my local track. You can never go wrong with a Yokomo drift car!!!! Top notch!!!! Driver skill is what’s gonna make the difference either way!!! 👊👊👍👍
looks like kevins is a countersteer car, where the front diff is spinning slower than the rear. helps with some stability, gives the illusion of a RWD without the weird powersliding look of a full awd like a 4tec. good for a beginner.
Brought it have had a few Tamiya TT0D’s never really fancied drifter car done it in real life but in RC never really did anything for me but this was such good value had to get it

You should drill a hole in your table and then you can put the smoke machine under the table withba tube so that the smoke come's underneath the car in your videoshot !

Get an MST kit. Very nice stuff. I like the FMX, though the RMX is very popular. Some cars have various versions running from a couple hundred bucks to closer to $1000.

It won't break on a smooth surface, it just caught a hard edge sliding sideways... the drift tires have no give so careful over the ridges and you're fine!

Looks almost identical to a Hpi Sprint 2 sport. Wish the Sprint had a carbon fiber chassis though.

It’s definitely still nice but you can’t really call it professional......
I recommend getting one of the yokomo yd2 variants, the sxiii is most used by people.
Also if you do build it, proper good quality electronics are highly recommended and don’t expect to be an absolute pro the first go you give it. It’s a skill you have to practice and tune the car.
One last thing is you need a gyro for rwd

It's because they didn't get low enough offset wheels for it.
You should see my 1/10 jzx100. The lip of the rim sits on the fender😂
they arent touring bodies, theyre drift bodies. but its a big trial and error or just measuring to find good fitment. these guys just slapped bodies on.
It’s also could be a 200mm body on a 190mm chassis

My redcat epx drift has lasted over a year with very little maintenance. I even went brushless and throw on drag tires. I did however twist a wishbone axel. But the whole belt drive doesnt seem worthy to me. The solid drive shaft in these redcats can take the punishment. U should try the redcat.

184 not bad. But the wpl d12 for 50 bucks is kinda unbeatable at the moment.
HBX 2188a is also crazy good for it's money ( it was about 65$ a month ago , now about 80$ )
RMX 2.5 or 3.0 would be a better drift car 👍
Id advise against it if you or kev taking the suggestion arent very comfortable in drift considering the rmx3kmw is 2000aud and the 2.5 is 650aud

I started with a tamiya tt01 then the second a hpi sprint 2 got released I got one and have had 3 till now. I know there is better chassis out there but I like the sprint 2 and wouldn't mind a new one soon
You should start off a Yokomo YD2-E or YD2-S. Both cars are RWD unless you want a beginner rtr version, there’s a Yokomo YD2AC RTR version which is 90% rtr. Just needs a body and wheels and you should be good to go.
You need to give banggood a break and give Ali express a go,soooo much better and a lot more choice 😊

the blaze dfr from hobbyking had one ages ago got rid as parts were a pain to get plus too much power the belts snap all the time just annoying as they are a decent rc,s

If you want a good Pro drifting RC car, Then hands down a Yokomo yd2 pro rwd..... Its a nice drifting machine.... Excellent quality..... My only recommendation is to pickup a set of ceramic bearings for it... Makes a great car an excellent car...... JMO tho

Kev. Brother. Get a tt02 or a tt02d by tamiya. They’re good starter drift cars that you can get a bunch of good upgrades for.

You need some foams or some slick rubbers on those tires, Kev, there's too much slip for the surface it's on.
