Looking good. Good chassis to start with and good result on the repairs. so much better than trying to do on a complete vehicle. It may be too late, but the addition of a grease nipple to the upper end of the steering relay tube would mean it never rusted in there or filled up with dust.
Amazing job! The chassis wasn't in very good nick to start with, but you tackled each repair professionally. Two suggestions: (1) You could convert the transmission X-member to a bolt-on affair, so that it can be removed from under the vehicle to enable dropping the tranny, when need be, instead of having to dismantle the flooring to lift the tranny from the inside. (2) Many Landy frames, including this one, which have seen heavy off-roading have the tranny X-member gouged. I would construct a heavy-gauge skid-plate and bolt it appropriately in place to prevent this from happening in future.
Great work. I was going to ask how you managed to remove the steering idler but shortly after I saw the state of the housing. Mine is well and truly seized in.
I've got to do some welding on my S3 project soon, so this is invaluable information for me. Well done guys 👍
Getting it done, nice work.
Nice find!! Great job on the repairs. I like the angle iron dumb iron support. Good idea!! Lots of nice repair panels/parts.
Looking good on the works..i really wish i can reconditioned my chassis like yours..
Nice work! Those steering relays are always rusted out! Keep em coming!🏁
great job, sound chassis

Yeah, we plan to load the relay up with grease but a grease nipple is a good suggestion

You read my mind, lol. Ended up doing that in a later vid

How'd the relay go. Thought the bottom was a machined fit and the top was clearance fit.
Nice work Phil, is that galvanised aluminium. That pipe you used looked awesome
Lol, very funny Raymond
Great vid and job well done. How thick is sheetmetal, you patched on?
Hi!
