What did you use to fill those chips/ dents?
Body filler, sand then filler primer and sand before final coat.
@@philthy4242 thank you!
a happy man and a happy newly reborn land rover...love it..
petrol not interested...
Are the cappings dipped in hot zinc for galvanicing?
Thank you for video. Good job
I've enjoyed this series from the start. Thank you for the ride.
The holes in the rear door are probably for the spare wheel mount. Some came with them mounted in the lower position, then someone could have moved it up so it didn't foul the tow hitch, as done on later vehicles. The cracking in the frame is consistent with the effects of the weight of a spare wheel over time. Later vehicles had a third hinge to cope with the weight better.
We actually figured out they are for the Euro-style plates.
Just stripped my 88" 1972 S3 to rolling chassis. Watching your journey through this. You are so right its a BIG job ! Cheers
I have enjoyed every moment of your restoration since the beginning, awesome job and I am very happy for you.
Great job, did you drop those skids at Eagle point lookout?
Not in a Landy! 🤣🤣🤣
Excellent series, and useful to the rest of us on our projects too! 🙂
Congrats on seeing it through!! 👏🏻 made a great job of it😍
Excellent job! Congrats!! Enjoy the drive!
Well done, great restoration guys, has been a great series to follow. Enjoy the old girl, looks amazing.
I feel you pain. I almost gave up
Looking great, I am at the same stage here in NZ, I even have some of the of the old moulded school chairs, super handy around the yard and helps not busting the back working at knee level most of the time. Same side windows, hard to source the rubber here. look forward to seeing the finished project. Thank for letting us follow your journey. Looking forward to ANZAC day.
Hi Damian Thanks for watching , good luck with your build. I got the window runner from ALP-OZ Auto Moulds. Looks like they have an office in New Zealand, ALP NZ LTD. I would give them a go they had heaps and fairly reasonably priced.
Can't wait to see how much swearing there is when you try to put those side windows back in... the rear ones aren't too bad. The side ones are a nightmare as the panel bends all over the place.
Hi Paul. It was nightmare,😫😫, don’t want to do the rubbers ever again. 😂 All done now.
@@adolfoagresta9972 🤣I spent 3 days on it, gouged my paintwork and gave up in the end and got someone else to do it!
So close, looking awesome
Great job! How many coats of paint did you apply? Is it a single stage (color and gloss in one) or two stage (base/color and clear/gloss)? Many thanks for this content...very helpful for those of us taking on frame off restorations! ~Pete (South Carolina, USA)

07:28 I always keep all the screws in food-bags, with writing on them (e.g. "Chassis bolts" or "Dashboard screws"), broken or not - so even if I don't re-use them, I know exactly what I need to order. Saw the idea on another Landy channel some time ago.
I've got to do some welding on my S3 project soon, so this is invaluable information for me. Well done guys 👍
Hey Mate, what Type of Door locks are those you use? Never seen them before. Wishes from Germany
08:21 As I always say.... don't force it... use a bigger hammer! 🙂
Only in a series Land Rover it's a way of life. Both my 1957 series 1 diesel, 88" and my 1965 series 2A 109 diesel station wagon are still running strong after all the years. They're driven almost every day. I'm the proud original owner of each. . Both mine have the galvanized chassis.
2:37 Standard noise for LR heating. I only turn mine on at speed (50pmh 😂) so I can't hear it over the rest of the noise 😊
Britparts.... Did anything fit first time? 😂
In fairness, it wasn't too bad 🤣

Your videos are entertaining, thank you, they always provide something interesting. Nice project.
Good video, thank you, it has helped me get ideas, the next step is to prepare my tub for painting, your video encourages me! Thank you and greetings from Chile.
Keep going, don’t stop 😂, they come together fast once your at that point.
Many thanks!!!
Looking fantastic guys, paint came up a treat, can’t wait to see it with the gal capping on.
Getting there and looking good! Fitting all the galvanised parts must be satisfying. Liked and subscribed.👍
2:25 I’m pretty sure that it’s “Rocker cover” and not “Rocket cover”. The 2.25 really doesn’t have any of the characteristics of a rocket!
Great video mate. Really enjoyed. What is the name of the paint colour? Good choice
Hi Tom Not sure what the colour is called, it based on the English Land Rover light green.
Well done, just love those first drive videos 👏👏
Lovely work Adolfo! Im on my fifth Landy resto and Im really enjoying your work. I wish we were neighbors so that we could collaborate. My current work is on a 1987 V8 County 110 th-cam.com/video/Lr_ysp_VYU4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bjlX1sOEPfc0qxN7
Thanks heaps mate. If your ever in Melbourne don’t hesitate to reach out. 👍
'The worlds most reliable car. Alfa'.........
exhalent job. Looks awesome.
I just googled ‘Land Rover series 3 brochure’ - and all the ones from England had them on the bottom … whilst all the ones from Australia had them on the top … Even if they weren’t CKD kits there was perhaps some local assembly 😊
Thanks for featuring my LR at Cooma, with the pic of the queen. Where did you get the ducting for the heater and what tube did you use for the heater pipe?
You're very welcome. I can't remember where we got the ducting but I'll get Adolfo to reply to this later, he will know
Hi John It’s ducting for a range hood that was left over from work. 😅 You can get it from Bunnings for about $15 and that will do about 5 land rovers. I think it was 110mm, just check your heater box, I also wrapped the two ends with some neoprene tape to get a snug fit.
Sorry forgot to mention the heater pipe, that’s just a pice of hard drawn aluminium pipe I got from action aluminium 1/2 inch. I bent it with plumbers pipe benders and use a crox nut tool on either end so the hose wouldn’t come off. 👍 again I think the length of pipe cost me $8 and I have about 2m left.
Looking great guys, I’m about 12 months behind you on my series 3 109, learning lots from your videos. Thanks for the great content Cheers
Glad your back really brilliant video
Indicators on the bottom. Most images, even from LR experts, have them on the bottom. Great job.
Looking good! 👍
Excellently explained. Bruce from Gold Coast QLD. I have 2 x Series 2a's which both need repair so very helpful and succinct.
Have you ever thought of using a two part vehicle adhesive to bond the repair parts to the bulkhead under repair? That would remove any heat to the repairs while sealing the overlapping parts completely. Thoughts?
You could absolutely do that. I think it depends on your welding ability and the ammount of repair work (i.e. the amount of heat) you are doing in a particular area. Insofar as sealing the panels, I'm kinda of the opinion that these cars (while not perfect) have lasted over 50 years of hard use and still exist, so getting them back to factory and treating them a little kinder will solve a lot of the rust/water ingress issues... But I don't claim to be an expert or an authority on these things, just an enthusiastic amateur :)
@@philthy4242 i am thinking of no welding but rather just bonding the sections. I have galvanised sections i have bought for my bulkhead and i am wondering whether they can just be glued together rather than welding.
Thanks!
First class work comes from a old English mechanic my first new car was a 19 79 Land Rover series 3 88 plane bonnet plane back door spare inside very nice to see the same love and care well done
Hmm you could of done that a lot cheaper.
As a Spaniard I used to get so much stick for saying and writing 'math', and that's from everyone bar some (but not all) American's...guess it's a bit like spelling variables, 'theatre/theater' being just one...enough of this nonsense lol
