    I bought one today. I can't wait to use it. I'm happy to hear it can hold 80ºF. That's perfect for making starter and proofing dough.

    Just buy it!!!!!! We purchased the smaller oven about 10 years ago. About 3 weeks ago my husband purchased this one since he’s the cook now. These Brevelles are built to WORK!!!!!!!! Will not heat up the house. The big one sits in the big kitchen and the smaller one in the small kitchen. Prior owner wanted two kitchens! We love our Brevelles!!!!! Buy one for kids or grandkids wedding gifts. I promise they will use it!!!!

      Manufacturers need to make the interior nonstick to grease, that will allow easier cleanup. Itried to clean up, but through time, grease wins, and I end buying another one.

    Love the review... can't stress what a time saver always covering the bottom liner sheet with tin foil. Our Breville is 8 yrs old and the liner pan looks practically brand new.

      Agree! The rest of the Breville has some wear but the liner pan looks pretty much like the day I bought it

    Great review. Clear, thorough and balanced. One tip - rotate remind is for cooking with 2 trays, reminding you to switch the top tray to the bottom and bottom to top, mainly because a bottom tray shields the direct/radiant heat from the elements while the top tray gets full exposure. The trays don't need to be spun around as shown in the video because the oven produces very uniform heat from the front to the back of the cavity, especially when using convection or super convection/air fry.

    • @nntflow7058
      @nntflow7058 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I notice that air frying is better if you rotate it though. The results are way more even. Especially with thinner french fry.

    Thank you for your honest review, very helpful. You might be even more happy that you have a stainless steel vs plastic air fryer. It seems people are finding out how much plastics is ending up in their food. I don't know about the science of this worry, but I'm not going to get a plastic one, just in case. And I love my breville blender, it's excellent in its designed shape so I'm glad to hear this oven is a winner too!

    My beloved little toaster oven of 20 years, yup, 2 full decades, is finally near its end. I've been scouring the internet, researching all the different kinds of toaster ovens with air fryers because after 20 years, I feel like I deserve an upgrade. 😂 This has, by far, been the most thorough, realistic, and pragmatic review I've seen so far. And I've now seen a ton!! 🥴😂

    Another tip - when dehydrating multiple baskets at a time I pull out the crumb tray a half inch to let the steam escape without losing much heat. This prevents condensation gathering on the glass and sides and eventually pooling around the feet.

      After a coupon years the door spring will go. If that goes everything shot. Imas there is a switch that the handle rest on to make the temperature timer works. It will just flash and the. I cannot regulate your temperature . It’s easy to fix if someone is handy. You have to buy an after market spring as u cannot get it from breville. Breville wants u to buy a new oven. It’s simple fix. The new pro is just to add price it is exactly the same with an app. It’s not like ur controlling any major function. So save yourself the $100. It’s the same as the one 5yrs ago . Nothing change as the app is not a functional feature .

    I got this air fryer a little over a year ago and love it as much as you do. I never use my oven anymore. The only problem with my Breville is the turn reminder doesn't work at the halfway point. It allows the food to cook 2/3 of the way and then reminds me to turn the food. I especially like the cauliflower roasted on the airfry basket without oil. It makes the vegetables so much better when roasted that way.

    • @everythingbutpasta
      @everythingbutpasta  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I just bought one of these at Harvey Norman here in Australia for $481AUD (about $315 USD), they were on special. I have no experience using an air fryer. I found your review really useful in showing the different things that you do with the air fryer. I have a lot of tomatoes from my garden and using it to make dried tomatoes is a really good idea.

    I bought a nonstick mat for bottom of this oven and just easily wash with soap and water as needed. The only feature I don’t like on this oven
    Is the toaster. It takes much more time than a regular toaster to toast bread . I’ve had this for 4 yrs and use in place of my oven. I got mine through rewards points at work so it’s been a great gift.

    • @everythingbutpasta
      @everythingbutpasta  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If by non-stick mat you mean a silicone mat, I used to do that too but I found it discolours over time and I didn’t like that. That’s when I switched to tinfoil. I agree, the toaster feature is quite slow but I prefer it to having another appliance on my counter

    Thank you for your excellent review. In considering purchasing this I noted that the maker warns against putting foil in the crumb-catch pan because, they say, it will cause the unit to overheat. I suspect if you place the foil matte side up it won't make a difference, but I've no confirmation of that.

    • @everythingbutpasta
      @everythingbutpasta  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just finished filming my cleaning video and if the alternative is cleaning the bottom crumb catcher vs replacing with tin foil, it’s a risk I’m willing to take. However I always put it matte side up as you pointed out

    Thank you for this great review! It has given me so many ideas of what to cook! Just got mine and am reading the manual. Just a couple of notes: Around 58 seconds into your video you mention lining the crumb tray with tinfoil. On page 3 "Important Safeguards" it says not to do this to the crumb tray or any part of the oven as it will cause overheating. Then around 1:10 you say to make sure to have 1 inch of clearance. In the manual it actually says 4" on the sides and 6" above.

    I began with a quality basket style air fryer and now am sure this Breville will be a very sensible upgrade.
    *** I have a question?***
    I'll be placing this on a heavy duty wire rack system that is 18" deep. How deep of a shelf does this need to go on so I don't end up bending the door hinges?
    I guess I will have a piece of strong plywood cut to go underneath the entire oven.
    Your recommendation was really helpful. A new subscriber.

      It does a decent job dehydrating if you only have one or two trays in. Normal dehydration is around 100f which is 37 C. The higher you go, the faster it will dehydrate but risks burning and there is nutritional impacts too but I’m not an expert on that

      I used to use a silicone mat on the bottom for cleanup but I switched to using aluminum foil. I just leave it on the crumb tray all the time. I do sometimes put a try underneath but I feel like it interrupts the airflow so then that’s when the aluminum foil comes in handy. It does get dirty so it needs regular cleaning (once every month or 2) - most parts get clean but the inside of the oven itself is the part where cleanup is less than ideal. I finally got my great sale in the US. 10/06/ 2024 everywhere. For a brief time went from $400 to $300 Williams Sonoma is even shipping for free so I got the extra Breville brand 3 mesh baskets and cutting board. Read lots of reviews and it seem generic baskets aren't nearly as good as the Breville ones Nobody else stocks them accept WS.

    Do you have to unplug it to turn it off? I don't see a power button.
    Is there a way to disable the preheat option?
    One thing I wish this item had was a pause button instead of opening the door

    • @everythingbutpasta
      @everythingbutpasta  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Turning the oven on/off is just with the start button. The screen with the options stays on permanently so you’d need to unplug if you want that off but I assume it draws minimal power. I haven’t found a way to disable the preheat button but the warm feature starts counting down without preheating so you could just use that if you don’t want to wait or just put your item in anyway. I haven’t found a need for a pause button but I just add more time if I need

    I have my first FAIL using Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro: The ROTATE REMIND did not work as I was expecting the oven to remind me halfway of baking time. It DID NOT REMIND ME HALFWAY, but did remind me 2/3 of baking time. It doesn't make sense to remind to rotate 2/3 of baking time. Most recipes will rotate halfway of baking time. You cannot customize the setting either. Dissappointed that this feature does not work well.

    There are TONS of 1-star and 2-star Amazon reviews for this suggesting that it is poorly made and can break down catastrophically.
    Glass door shattering while cooking, knobs breaking down, fan breaking down, door hinge breaking down because of poor design, the unfixable "E06" error etc.
    On top of that, tons of people having issues contacting Breville for customer support. Not being able to get ahold of anyone, long wait times, having to wait weeks for them to get your air fryer and make a decision on it, or never even getting contacted back by Breville.
    Makes me want to avoid at all costs!

    • @Buffatestuff
      @Buffatestuff ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are tons of 1 and 2 star reviews on Amazon for lots of things that are simply a matter of ignorance. Look up any cast iron or High carbon steel pan. The number of negative reviews for rust is astonishing. With over 8000 reviews and 84% being 5 star saying there are tons of 1 and 2 doesn't hold much weight. I am on my second one of these ovens and can testify that the majority of the issues are due to user error. My sons used the first one a lot and did all kinds of damage in a short amount of time because they wouldn't read the instructions or heed mine. I didn't buy a replacement until they were out of the house. Several years later it is still going strong. The door hinge issue is due to weight being put on the door while it is open. On my first one my son sprung the door, but I was able to repair it enough to make it usable. The knobs and fan are electronic items, it happens on occasion. Breville is good about warranty on that stuff. The glass shattering is no different than the glass on a regular oven or the windshield on your car. When glass is hot and you put something cold on it it will at least crack and occasionally explode. Follow manufacturer instructions and common sense.

      2nd question about cleaning that I've seen. Iam hoping you will focus on cleaning the walls, elements and fan area. Please! Others have shown cleaning of the 4acks and crumb tray. Not helpful because I think we can all manage to do the racks and tray so again please focus on the interior that is where the problem is.vthank you!
