Our standard Breville 800xl served us well but finally gave it up after many years of use. I had decided to look for something smaller, so over the past week, I have spent hours on the web looking at different ones of different sizes and features along with their ratings and reviews. I checked out a few brands at local retailers, but they all fell short of my quality expectations I was use to. I'm usually not an indecisive person and the idea of going smaller became an obstacle. This morning with my cup of coffee sidekick, I started back at it and happened upon this Deep Dive review which I thought may be worth a watch. IT WAS!!! "Thank You Liz" for your straight up thorough demo review of the Breville 900BSS. Forget smaller....this one makes more sense in the long run and has so many more exciting features than my first Breville did. My search is over!
Excellent review! Thank you so much for showing all of the different types/sizes of pans that can fit in this oven. This is exactly what I needed to see.
Im a tool guy, and I am not a kitchen type guy. With that being said, I really enjoyed this review, and you made this product much easier to understand. I'll be purchasing it tomorow and making delicuous meals, thanks from a new subscriber.
Grazie. It was so nice for you familiarize me with this oven before it arrives in a few days. Your thorough detailing helped me decide which model to buy a few months back but I waited until now as it is finally on sale. Now Ill check out the rest of your channel. Arrivederci.
Very detailed review! I have been watching this model for many months, and finally ordered one this week. My main purpose was to "replace" the use of my oven during the hot summer months and for a nice sized air fryer. My oven has an air fry function, but it takes almost as long as conventional baking because of the size. Another selling point was the ability to fit full size baking pans. Because of all these points, the price seemed fair to me... $399 at the time of this comment. I can't wait for delivery - your video reassured me that i made the right choice!
Ordered a few minutes ago on Black Friday sale on Amazon for $299. Had gone up to $399 by now otherwise. 😵💫. My last Breville countertop (simple, smaller) oven is still going after nearly 20 years. But wanted convection/airfry and a little larger oven.
You did a great job covering everything. I am debating which model to buy. I am very interested in the dehydrator function, wish you had utilized that service. Where did you find this oven for $300? At my Best Buy they are $399. Thank you 😊 Judy
Hi Judy, from what I see online the price has gone up since I made the video. Sometimes Amazon has sales though. I still haven't used the dehydrator mode since I am using it so much for other things throughout the day, it makes it difficult . So I use a separate dehydrator. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
Hi Dave, I just measured mine and if you consider the little black rubber stopper that sits on the back side facing the wall it's about 15 inches. Not counting the stopper, it was just shy of 14 inches from back left corner to front left corner. And the LED light does not always stay on.
As long as it's oven safe then yes - check on the actual glassware since they could be different from piece to piece. I tend to use stainless steel pans mostly or ceramic in general.
I'm thinking about getting one of these, but if I do I won't be able to justify getting a pop-up toaster as well as I've basically got no counterspace/storage in my kitchen. I like the versatility of this appliance but my partner and I are concerned about using this for toast in the morning. can you share your experience for this usecase? (ie how long it takes to toast 2-4 store-bought slices to golden brown on both sides, and any other comments you might have).
It takes longer to toast in the Breville than it does for a pop up toaster. That was one thing I noticed right away. I believe it takes about 4-6 minutes for a few pieces of toast to be a golden brown but it really depends on how toasted you like it.
This review was a game changer for me! I’ve not been able to decide what was best for my home use and you answered all my questions! Great review!
So glad it helped!

I'm so glad you found this helpful! I agree, as tempting as smaller may be, it usually doesn't pay off in the long run!

I am so glad to hear that! I use it every day and am so happy with it. They also have great customer service too.
DO NOT use the air fryer. It causes cancer!! Google it!! Air fryers and cancer.
very nice job reviewing this great product - but yes, very expensive for a small oven - thank you!
Thanks for watching!

a couple of questions.
what is the depth minus the handle and does the LED display always stay on when not in use... thankyou

Can you use Pyrex or glass bakeware in this oven?

Can you multi cook or just one food at a time
Depends on what you're cooking and the space. In general I'd say probably not.
As of 5/19/24, $400! FJB!
Just ordered one from Amazon their Black Friday sale for $300.
