I get so much joy from sharing this channel with people who are frustrated by "luxury" fashion brands and I have seen a visible self esteem boost in women when I share with them what I have learned since watching this channel and others like it. Thank you for being a beacon of sanity and for making people feel good about how they dress again.
Want to highlight that a lot of Chinese ppl even more so recently have flocked to Japan to buy luxury goods instead to take advantage of the cheap yen. That may explain the growth in Japan.
Someone made a comment that Chanel could be recognized in a group of 1,500 people which I agree with for its classic model.. and 60% of those people will think the bag is fake.
I wonder when this kind of system will collapse and when people will take charge…because now its feels that classic flap bag price will increase twice in next ten years.
16% of growth was due to the more of price increase (9%) than increased demand (7%). Any business would keep doing this until the demand starts to slow to maximize profit.
Glad you mentioned that Chanel is a private company so they can reveal what they want to reveal in regards to their business. I don't know who could afford to buy them if they were to go on the market. What do you think the asking price would be? $300 BILLION? I am not a fan of Virginie but I am usually in the comment section of various videos defending Chanel when Virginie is being dragged because I understand that fashion is a business and it is not just about aesthetics. I do believe that Chanel is obsessed with the bottom dollar but so are the other big luxury brands. Hermes has great quality but their entire business is based on 3 quota bags. They crack me up when their big wigs talk about how ALL of their categories are successful 😂😂😂. I am like girl bye. Nobody wants that other crap. People only buy it to build their profile in the Hope that they MIGHT be offered a quota bag. I am sorry but the bullshit that the Hermes bigwigs say is worse that what the new Chanel CEO has said. I love going to the various Chanel boutiques in NYC and the midwest and talking to the various SA's. The SA's in NY are tight lipped but l was able to get great info from the SA's in the midwest. They tell me that the RTW does very well because each individual boutique has a person that does the buy which is tailored to specific clients. The buyer knows their sizes, color/style preferences, etc. This is why they have such high sell-thru's. NYC is a separate universe because they have so many tourists, etc. But in the smaller boutiques in Saks/Neiman's- they usually don't get more than 3 of any style. So on the 1st day of a new collection, the VIP's come in to get their pieces and whatever is left over is for everyone else. This is why l keep commenting that Chanel is catering to the RTW clients that are dropping $15k and up for a RTW look. Right before a new collection drops, the smaller shops looked picked over because they are. The new collection looks repetitive because it is meant to blend in with the previous collection. At the end of the season, stores send their unsold clothing to a large boutique/dept store in NYC , Beverly Hills, or Florida (Palm Beach or Bal Harbor). This is what l was told. I don't know what they do in Canada, Europe, etc. You are the expert in Canada. What do they at the end of the season with the sale merchandise? I like seeing how each store buys their collections because you can tell what the clientele is like. Young and trendy? Mature and conservative? Or a combination of the two. The prices are astronomical so l see why they are not buying full size runs when the average price of a jacket is around $8k. A blouse/ sweater is $3k. Skirt/pants $3k. Throw in shoes, costume/ fine jewelry and you are looking at around $20k for an outfit.
I forgot to clarify. The end of season sale for RTW only happens in these 3 locations. I forgot to ask about shoes, bags, costume jewelry. And l like Maddie Shops. She is very sweet. She is the type of client that Chanel wants. She buys RTW. She had a great shopping experience in Paris because her SA in the states set her up with a SA in Paris and l am sure they told the SA in Paris that she is a serious client that buys RTW.
Good show Dacob. Hold their feet to the fire on quality. The clasps should be 14K gold or white gold or rose gold again. Now THAT would blow Hermes out of the water.
Chanel should increase their prices because that is the move that ONLY a very confident couture house would do. They have to save face to continue using the price. BUT, considering they lost their head designer so suddenly and no replacement, SAs are bending backwards to try to sell us RTW, bags that NO ONE is buying. I have been buying Chanel for decades, never have I seen Chanel in such chaotic stage. This CEO is absolutely the cause of the collapse of such heritage and successful brand that Karl has sweat his blood and tears to revive. If they increase prices again, they will certainly kill this entire house definitely. I am confident they will, because they are stupid, period.
Sales increased in Europe probably because we’re good to travel again, so those in Asia and the USA will tie shopping into a holiday to get tax back and a better price. If they are continuing to open more boutiques in places where sales are slowing, it’s probably to invest in the property that houses the boutique rather than what the boutique sells. 😒
I am crazy nuts for the vintage Chanel. The OG of it all. To watch a fashion show is like watching androgynous ghouls trudging down a runway. Inflated pricing on bags makes them dangerous to carry. Robbery of your person is possible. Wear them to work and you will never get a raise or promotion. People who are middle class use credit cards to purchase luxury. They do not bat an eye.
@@Figen.E I found an ebay seller who legally makes dupe perfumes and I got their Balenciaga Florabotanica and it's GOOD. I haven't gone for the Chanel #1 yet but I probably will although I'm currently enjoying Balenciaga Paris as a more workday fragrance. Anyway I got the Florabotanica for a ridiculously low price and as far as I'm concerned it's extremely ethical as the fragrance is discontinued anyway.
It would be interesting to know how many bags or Chanel items they sold for 23 as compared to 22. Is it just the price increase which makes their overall profits increase? Or are they selling more items? I think I can guess but would like your opinion.
I don’t know but has it ever been mentioned that, maybe Chanel takes order from the rich and produces the goods with better quality vs low for us commoners.
It maybe that they are getting the company ready to be publicly traded. As a CEO, she should talk more about the numbers only and not pretend she is fluent in Chanelism ( meaning its heritage and importance). I noticed women’s CEO have to give up their feminine side. I only imagine in Unilever she wore gray and navy blue suits. So now she has to wear these couture jackets that she may not even appreciate. I don’t buy anything Chanel now. The universe has given me the opportunity to learn about other brands. Good luck to them, Chanel is an Icon as a person still so people will keep buying. Ciao Ciao to all.
9% price increase will give you double digits growth according to Chanel, meaning, if you didn't have the price increase you would only have 7% growth which is not a great outcome. This brand is one of the most over hyped brands out there. They release the same bags ever year, riveting. In 20 years from now, we will see the same bags being released and all the Chanel girls losing their minds to get them. Do better Chanel... Don t get me started on the quality or the customer service.
Luxury experience lmao not a single Chanel employee even looked at me when I visited the boutique
😂

....yeah.....there's that word, "harmonization" yes, I agree, Nair is reading from the script......
Its so frustrating to me to see her always repeat the same drill

I agree the hot dog comparison is genius! Thumbs up for this video. Thank you for sharing your insight Dacob.
Thank you dear 🙏🏻🥰💖

I can't agree anymore. Corporate people don't want honest options even it is from the heart
I agree
Great video! Soooo funny 😂😂😂 And yet so true. Thanks for making me smile!!
Thank you 🥰💖
This coverage is so funny 😂❤
Thank you 🙏🏻😂
Unilever… maybe that’s why their choice of venue for the collection was the drab building rooftop.
Hahaha the shade ahhaahha

I liked the Winter 2024 show. And I’m no fan of Chanel, but I did like that show.
Are they raising prices on Beauty, too?? 😑
They raise beauty prices each year and in some case they raise them a lot.
Oh absolutely! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Or they keep the price and shrink the products. My must have eyeliner went up 5 dollars and my illumination lotion by 15!
Are they raising prices on perfumes? 🥺

She needs to silence herself. She's doing more harm than good. What kind of leader is that? 😂
I doubt that. Apparently, you can lie to Chanel consumers' faces and your sales will still increase.
Well people are still buying despite all the chatter
it is meaningless if only look at revenue, its profit did not rise a lot.

Thats what Haute Couture is 😉💫
Maybe she really is AI, that wouldn't surprise me nowadays 🤔
It would also not surprise me 😅
