I have a Coach bag that I bought when I was 18 years old. I still carry it to this day. (I'm 66). It has had no issues whatsoever. I would never buy a Chanel bag with all the quality issues people are experiencing. I feel bad that you are dealing with this, considering how much you spent. Should not have happened. I feel that the quality in many luxury brands is slipping due to the greed of the higher-ups in these companies. It's like they don't care that the customer gets they quality they're paying for. They quality overall for everything is down the drain. Lux I bought 30 years ago and even inherited from my mothers still look brand new. One max mara puffer from the 90s I have worn almost every winter as my daily one and people who don’t know me compliment me still on my coat is it new? I tried puffers from Moncler and max mara after around 2009. All of them fell apart completely after one winter and they were not worn every day. I’ve stopped buying things full price because of this. I only do sales now and vintage. I don’t mind a good replica either anymore because they can actually be of so much better quality. Before I was a big opponent.

These high brands are targeting people that cannot afford it. I just decided that if I have to take a bank loan for a bag, I don't need it or want it. I would actually rather just invest in an older piece that was made properly. I do think these high-end brands will fall into the gutter very soon. The only people I see walking around with labels on are reality tv show people.
That’s why I bought a preloved Chanel Jumbo and classic from 2008 PURPOSELY. 24K gold - never has rubbed off- quilting is still soft, smooth like butter and puffy. Chains are heavy and I would never purchase a brand new one from the boutique. I’m sorry you are experiencing this especially with a bag that costs so much money. We need to stop buying these bags - that’s the only way Chanel will improve their quality!!! Wish you luck - please update us!
Yes, I have two Chanel bags - one from the 2004 cruise collection and a tote from 1995. The tote looks virtually brand new, and so does the 2004 bag. I have zero quality issues with those bags.
Some rich people buy expensive bags but still think of them as unimportant and meaningless things. Just because you bought it doesn't mean you have to give it some artificial importance or false meaning *hotdups*

Honestly, Chanel’s quality has been getting bad around 2010, and it really started going down the toilet when Lagerfeld died. It’s an insult to charge such an outrageous price for something that has similar quality as a fast fashion bag. If someone really wants a Chanel, it’s best to shop the vintage market. The quality on the older Chanel bags are amazing. They were made to last a lifetime.

In the meantime I'm really happy with the quality of other brands such as Coach, Aigner and D&G. I have a hobo bag from the 2000s from the last one and it's still in very good condition. It's just outrageous ! Don't apologize. It's ok to be so disappointed. The same applies with Balenciaga and other luxury brands. Quality is not what it used to be any longer.

I from *hotdups* bought a Birkin and I went into Louis Vuitton at South Coast Plaza with a friend who wanted to buy a card case and we received great customer service. They offered us water..LOL I would never buy authentic knowing that are just as good.

I really wanted a Chanel bag before. But after realizing high price does not equal high quality, I decided to get the Strathberry East West mini in black/gold. It really cured my itch for the Chanel bag and actually I think the Strathberry bag looks classier!

It's ridiculous to buy something brand new and send it off for repair on that same day you purchase it! Chanel and that Chanel SA should be ashamed of her/himself!
I've had my Chanel bag repaired three times with my own money...bought it new and have had it for 5 years...even the clasp had to be tightened...each repair has been around $400...would not buy another...the quality does not warrant the pricing. Thank you for sharing!!
I bought Lalage Beaumont Fontyn in medium tan last week from *preluxz* , I have been using it since I received it and then neglected my designer range (maybe it was the honeymoon period) but I am so impressed by the quality and price deep impression. I wish they would make the same bag in a variety of pinks (i.e. sakura pink). There are actually many options to choose from.
Chanel is THE main brand I think of when it comes to the topic of decreasing quality, I have friends who still use the bags their mother bought decades ago and still amazing quality, holds up well, worth the price paid. looking around Chanel now with the modern version of the same bag, it's like "Chanel you know you're supposed to be a luxury brand? what happened? [greed]" the prices don't reflect what is expected.
This happened to mine (bought in 2011) recently and I took it to Chanel and they fixed it for me free of charge. I also had to get the CC hardware changed as the silver underneath was showing. This cost 60. Sad to say I’m not going to buy anymore bags from the boutique due to the price increases and decline in quality: Get it vintage, much better quality and better value for money.
I think this is a common issue judging by others who have have shared similar experiences. Honestly it’s just really disappointing that they reduce quality just to increase profit despite the massive price increases. I hope you continue to love and enjoy the bag without any future problems.
Vintage is the way to go. Bigger companies buying smaller companies to make everything bigger and faster. Quality is replaced with quantity. The fact that the bag she initially looked out was clearly faulty but somehow managed to slip its way to a boutique speaks volume about quality control. It's happening in many types of business...just mass produce it fast. Vintage is the only way to go now.
I would love a follow up video about what the quality control person says! Anything you spend that much money on is a big deal and being upset that it isn't holding up is totally understandable, I would be too.

I have found that any purse, regardless of brand (or lack there-of) made from stiff material and has narrow compartments like you have shown, will crack or de-thread where it bends or folds. I remember when I went to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas about 15 years ago seeing those Channel bags for $1,300. I thought they were steep then, and the quality felt 10 times nicer than they do now. They had an incredible weight distribution to them that doesn't exist now.
I mean, $1300 is still too expensive for a bag but shit, compared to the nearly 10g's they want today, that was a bargain then. I think the difference is, youtube influencers took over (like the Kardash family) and the reality tv show women like Real Housewives. They all like to wear labels all the time, it was free advertising to big names. Then everyone wanted one...then they had to start mass producing them. Not sure what is really made in Italy anymore...but I am certain most things are not.
Such price for JUST a bag is ridiculous. Even if you have a lot of money why pay so much? If you are rich and everybody in your social circle have Chanel bag it doesn’t make you stand out or whatever. It’s just like being a student and have Zara bag.
I had serious quality issue my medium classic flap cavier with gold hardwear bought straight from Chanel boutique. One month after the purchase, the gold color from the front knob had come off in part and I could clearly see the silver color underneath. I took it back to the store and they acknowleged it was a problem and offered a full refund or exchange even after the 30- days return period had passed.
Hi Blessy after having aprrox 80 Chanel bags in my very long life, I can say the side stitch coming lose is nothing to worry about. It happens all the time. You can go and have it fixed while you wait at Luxury Bag Repairs 19 North End Road Fulham, it cost s£50 and he has fixed this exact problem for me many times. Or there is Chanel Care and Repair on the 5th floor of Harrods, they are so lovely and helpful there. It will be a quick & free repair. Once it is back you will be in love with Chanel again. The course of true love never runs smooth, as they say. Harrods Chanel Care and Repair have changed the locks on approx 7 of my bags and hardware etc some of these bags are over 25 years old. They look after their customers!

Hi Blessy, all my purchases were many years ago but they still treat me very well. The stitch does not effect the integrity of the bag at all. It’s not like a bad scuff or a rip. Your bag will be stunning for another 30 years and you’re young enough to enjoy it for that long. X

Agreed 100%. The vintage Chanel bags are worth it but the new ones are so not they are literally no different to high grade fake which you can buy for about $200-$300. Totally not an investment but a great waste of money feeding the ‘monster’ investors in these luxury brands
That doesn’t only happens with Chanel. It’s happening with all “luxury” brands. They simply just don’t care at all. They know that they will sell everything so they just keep increasing their prices and lowering their quality to have a bigger profit, and people will continue buying because basically most of the new customers want to show off what their buying, or simply buy to resell (same thing with watches). These type of brands are not what they used to be. They are no longer exclusive, they no longer offer quality or a good buying experience. Before they use to give a high quality service, now you have to wait outside as you were going to buy potatoes at a marketplace. And finally, don’t worry about saying that you are not materialistic, even you were. You are saying something fair.
These brands know that people will still buy their products just because of the name lol If you were smart with your money, you wouldn't consider ever buying the real thing- just buy a knockoff. The truth is no one is going to know the difference anyways!

Its really discouraging, buyers like you and I would probably invest in other quality brandnames like Mark Cross, Delvaux, Dior, etc. Reasonable price point and good workmanship and product design. The same thing happened to my seasonal flap bag from Chanel. I got it repaired for free under the warranty and then I sold it. It wasn’t worth keeping, because I’d worry about it happening again after the warranty was gone.
Omg I’m worried about the same thing! This has happened to my bag only a year into warranty. How much will they charge for this after the 5yr warranty runs out? The crazy thing is that they replied to me saying the are happy to offer me a free repair. But isn’t that what the warranty is for? They make it sound like they are doing me a favour 🤯

I love how honest you are about everything. when someone is carrying a *topluxs* and you pass them on the street no one can tell whether is fake or real one because you cannot do this much analysis on it. what I hate about LV and why I stopped buying them is that many people assume your bag is fake when they pass you on the street. It's very annoying. one time a woman walked up to me and actually asked me if my bag was "real". after spending almost 2K on a bag and being asked that question was so offensive i stopped carrying them. People look more at the person carrying the bag and assume wrongly whether is real or fake. it is extremely annoying
I own a Chanel WOC and the leather 'ripped' off and this has never happened to my other 'luxury' bags and I do take care of my bags relatively well. I took the bag back to Chanel store hoping they will repair the bag and the whole process took them 6 months to sort. During the 6 months, no one contacted me and I had to pay the store a visit x3 (not happy especially when you're paying a premium price, you would expect customer service) ! Honestly, for the poor customer service and poor made quality bags, I would much rather spend it on other brands with better craftsmanship and good customer service.
I'm a fan of LV and Gucci, I bought my partner a Gucci bum bag and had to go through 4 of them to pick one that's with less flaws. LV bags are okay so far. But I agree, all the designer bags quality is going down hill while the price is going up, the brands are not even worth it anymore.

You should have bougt a vintage one. The quality is insane! Your bag is nice but there is nothing special in it. Cavior leather looks cheap and exactly the same like the bags I saw in a market in Turkey. The same leather, the same look ,the same quality. What's the point to pay sooo much when you can't see any difference. Sorry to say but If I met you in the street I would probably think that you had bought it somewhere in Turkey.

I know that Channel has always been the most exclusive, at the very top but I’m so happy I didn’t give in. Thank you for sharing. I’ve had genuine leather boots that I’ve walked around in snow and rain that have never given out and I’ve had them for 20 years for less than 200. I can’t ever imagine a channel bag could ever really be considered an “investment”.

Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 and I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your clutch! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don’t want to spend so much money on it now, I have been *yutulu* buying the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability

Ugh so sorry to hear that! I just bought a WOC and wore it once to Target. The back Mona Lisa pocket popped a stitch in the same place Kiki’s did. I had to pay for insurance + s&h bc I live over 3 hours away from my closest Chanel and couldn’t drive in. They still have my money and my WOC that I bought for my bday and I would suspect they prolly sold it to me damaged and I didn’t catch it in the store.

That's really helpful information. I was at DBX Airport. They were selling Medium Classic lamb skin for 7800. I was about to but don't know why I didn't I thought I better get Cartier love bracelet in that price.
I’m glad you didn’t pull the trigger on the classic flap! It’s bet treetops to get a vintage one instead . Or you can get an Hermés for that price and the quality won’t let you down! A Cartier bracelet is also another great alternative of course that will never tarnish like a Chanel bag. ❤

@@BlessyRoyy please know the space you called a "compartment" is NOT meant for anything at all to go inside it. This is just where the 2 flaps meet and are stitched together. If you have been putting "small notes" in there, you may have caused the stitches to pop. Your hands going in & out of this space can be the cause.b

The video showcased us that section of the bag is not meant for anything, and that she did not introduce there anything. Sticking the fingers was ment for demonstration purposes, do not jump to pinpoint the client is at fault, as if your were a sales person working on commission. If yes, just say it.

I bought my classic flap (identical to yours) in 2020 and the quality is great. Sadly, I bought a mini flap bag in lamb skin last year and it started showing signs of wear after two wears ☹️ I’m now too scared to wear it as the leather is literally rubbing off on the back pocket 🥺
Omg I’m so sorry to hear this. You must be heartbroken 😢 When I went to buy mine, I did consider buying lamb skin as it’s so soft and buttery but I was just too scared. But hey, even though I bought caviar, I’m still having problems. So it’s not us, it’s their product. Have you tried taking it back to show them? They might be able to suggest something?
Hi Margaux, if it makes you feel any better, I’ve had the same problem with my bag, which is also a mini flap but in caviar leather. I took it back to the Chanel store (and there is no Chanel store in my country so I had to wait until I went overseas). First they tried to charge me for someone to have a look at the bag to see if they could repair it…In the end they waived that fee. My bag has now been sent of to Paris for repair. So maybe take your bag back to the store. It is a real shame that Chanel, a brand we all equated with quality and was something special, appears to be no longer that. I hope they can fix your bag for you
@@BlessyRoyy I’m planning on taking bag to the Chanel ‘care and repair’ centre in Harrods (next to the Chanel shoe store on the 5th floor). They don’t actually repair anything there, but they’ll inspect your bag and decide whether it needs to be sent to France for repair. I genuinely think Chanel had issues with their leather for some of the bags manufactured during the pandemic.

I really really wanted to get a chanel bags but I have seen a lot of bad reviews with the quality 😔 I have louis vuitton's but never give me problems ( so far ). To be honest, my coach bags and dooney & bourke brands have more quality than chanel. It's just my opinion 🤷😊✌️
The quality of Chanel has been rubbish for a while now. They don't even gold plate their hardware with 24k gold anymore. You're better off buying real vintage, pre 2000s. But with the hikes and the crappy quality Chanel is becoming a brand to skip completely. It's become cheap ( and yet so expensive at the same time)
I agree with you! Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of the flat quilting that the vintage ones have, hence why I went for a new one but it totally wasn’t worth compromising the quality for.

The *yutulu* bags are gorgeous in their size, weight and color. Bought pink, cream and blue. I think I might go back and order the light lilac, light blue and red. I own some high priced designer handbags, but I like these even more!
I walk into Chanel stores only handful of times during and after covid, I didn’t look at the price tag, but the leather feel too much processing so it feels plasticky, I had vintage pieces from my mum, they definitely feel much better and not a stray thread for one of them being same age as me 37 lol (push gift from my dad back then) their quality feels like Kate spade now and they are focusing to create trends than classic pass down to your daughter kind of bag
I feel your disappointment and emotional pain with the brand. I bought my jumbo preowned. It’s from year 2015. I watched your video and rushed to inspect mine. Luckily, I haven’t had any issues, but this gives me a distrust feeling about my bag. Do I have to start babying it? I’m glad you disclose your issues publicly. The message will get through when more people do it. I will be sure to share the same if the quality issues happen to mine in the future.

Here in the US, there is a problem with knockoffs being sold at the designer stores. It is crazy. People are returning knockoffs and keeping the originals. They are so good that the SA cannot tell.
It's funny but, I bought a 1:1 Chanel replica and an original, and the original looks like the one you'd expect the replica to be. Chanel is a crazy thing. At this point in my life, I don't care to buy from luxury designer houses anymore, except for Dior or Hermes. Thanks for your video!

I just bought a smaller size last week in a new color. It’s a similar color to my Birkin 25 Beton, but that’s okay! My bag doesn’t have the chain strap. I love the look of the chain and the simplicity and lightness of the braided strap. Love that color too. I wanted a small carry-on bag and love the *topluxs* , it’s so classy.
What I do love is that even with a vintage Chanel, you can send it in and they repair for free. I recently had a vintage tote repaired there. You won't have to pay anything.
Oh really? I didn’t know this. You certainly have to pay for the hardware if you want to get it repaired or replaced in the new ones. I guess this isn’t the issue with the older ones anyway.

I'm very happy with the *rrcopys* package. Beautiful storage compartments. Looks and feels like leather. The shoulder straps and zipper are of high quality. Very happy with the purchase.
I used to own exactly the same classic flap which I purchased in 2019. Fortunately, I didn't come across the same problems like you and my friends did. One of my friends got her first one in a beige color last year, ran into the same "thread came loose" problem only after one day of use, and had to have her bag replaced as well. I'm sorry to see that you had to go through the same problem. Are the classic flap bags still good investments in general? I would think "yes". But, as a bag lover myself, is it heartbreaking to have to experience this? Absolutely yes. **sob**

There’s obviously an issue here with the design of the bag or poor stitching that Chanel won’t admit to or change. I have never owned a Chanel bag because. This was my first bag so I wouldn’t know but I have heard that quality has massively declined in more recent years. I personally didn’t buy the bag as an investment but I don’t think they are worth it anymore.

I have been purchasing Chanel classics since 2014 and agree that the quality has substantially deteriorated. My bags from 2014/2015 don’t have any issues but the ones from 2020 onward do. The prices are not justified! I guess a pre loved market may be the way to go for anyone that really wants one.

It’s unacceptable when brands don’t take responsibility for their product, especially when it comes to luxury items. I’m currently escalating the issue to a higher level within the company as the response I have received so far has not been satisfactory. I agree, the prices are steep and it’s frustrating when the quality doesn’t match up. I also think someone who wants a Chanel bag should consider the pre-loved market instead. Chanel quality dropped since 2008 so better buy a knock off because they have the same quality and the price is like 100 pounds. Also the quality of fakes are getting better and better too! U can use the money to invest in other things.
I never reach into the back of that slot. The stitching hasn't come off in the last 5 years on mine. However if you do use that pocket often, it will come loose. And restitching it is foc anyway. It isn't a quality issue, more of wear and tear.

Hi the vintage ones I came a tweet years older and unfortunately I’m not a fan of the flat quilting most of them have. But apparently the quality only declined after 2018 so once I know what’s happening to my bag, I could consider buying one that is before 2018 which should have the padded quilting I prefer.

@@BlessyRoyy it is dissapointing. I was in the store once and they brought out 3 classic flap in baby blue, black and beige and they all have stitching issue. One yes I can understand, but all 3 bags - they have quality control issue. Also don't buy any bag that has an over spray. A friend of mine bought a chromy finish bag in pink and purple and the overspray was peeling off within 6 months and she used it twice. Chanel took no responsibility for it either. They said they will send it back to H.O for inspection and see if it can be repaired. 12 weeks later, unfortunately - you can't repair an overspray. No offer of anything for compensation.
I have one chanel bag and it's the 19, the model i have came out in 2019 It seems like 2020, the quality really, really went down. As much as i love chanel bags, i won't buy them bc the risk is way to high. Chanel quality issues are ALL over the internet-- that's all i see, i don't see anyone talking about chanwl having good quality anymore
Oh I really like the 19 had my experience with quality been different, I would have definitely considered it as a future purchase. I have to agree, It’s highly unlikely that I’ll ever buy a Chanel bag again. I have owned many Gucci bags in the past and never had any issues despite years of usage!

You're paying for the logo not the quality. There's loads of European small leather company goods that make higher quality goods than Chanel, Dior, Hermes etc but they aren't easily recognizable and they are not status symbols. Instead of buying a chanel bag put that money in a bond, CD, index fund, 401k, Ira even an online high saving interest account. So much better useage of your money.
Thank for sharing! I purchased a boy bag in Chicago and had to take it back the next day. There were several defects including hardware disproportioned and a pop stitched. I did not notice it until I went home in a very well lit area in the house to view the bag. The SA who sold it to me said the bag was pristine. Took it back the next day and showed them the pictures/the bag. Return went very well. Repurchased in TX taxes much cheaper.

I have a Coach bag that I bought when I was 18 years old. I still carry it to this day. (I'm 66). It has had no issues whatsoever. I would never buy a Chanel bag with all the quality issues people are experiencing. I feel bad that you are dealing with this, considering how much you spent. Should not have happened. I feel that the quality in many luxury brands is slipping due to the greed of the higher-ups in these companies. It's like they don't care that the customer gets they quality they're paying for. They quality overall for everything is down the drain. Lux I bought 30 years ago and even inherited from my mothers still look brand new. One max mara puffer from the 90s I have worn almost every winter as my daily one and people who don’t know me compliment me still on my coat is it new? I tried puffers from Moncler and max mara after around 2009. All of them fell apart completely after one winter and they were not worn every day. I’ve stopped buying things full price because of this. I only do sales now and vintage. I don’t mind a good replica either anymore because they can actually be of so much better quality. Before I was a big opponent.

That’s why I bought a preloved Chanel Jumbo and classic from 2008 PURPOSELY. 24K gold - never has rubbed off- quilting is still soft, smooth like butter and puffy. Chains are heavy and I would never purchase a brand new one from the boutique. I’m sorry you are experiencing this especially with a bag that costs so much money. Yes, I have two Chanel bags - one from the 2004 cruise collection and a tote from 1995. The tote looks virtually brand new, and so does the 2004 bag. I have zero quality issues with those bags.

Honestly, Chanel’s quality has been getting bad around 2010, and it really started going down the toilet when Lagerfeld died. It’s an insult to charge such an outrageous price for something that has similar quality as a fast fashion bag. If someone really wants a Chanel, it’s best to shop the vintage market. The quality on the older Chanel bags are amazing. They were made to last a lifetime.

I really wanted a Chanel bag before. But after realizing high price does not equal high quality, I decided to get the Strathberry East West mini in black/gold. It really cured my itch for the Chanel bag and actually I think the Strathberry bag looks classier!

I bought Lalage Beaumont Fontyn in medium tan last week from *preluxz* , I have been using it since I received it and then neglected my designer range (maybe it was the honeymoon period) but I am so impressed by the quality and price deep impression. I wish they would make the same bag in a variety of pinks (i.e. sakura pink). There are actually many options to choose from.
Chanel is THE main brand I think of when it comes to the topic of decreasing quality, I have friends who still use the bags their mother bought decades ago and still amazing quality, holds up well, worth the price paid. looking around Chanel now with the modern version of the same bag, it's like "Chanel you know you're supposed to be a luxury brand? what happened? [greed]" the prices don't reflect what is expected.
My Chanel bag from 10 years ago has a different feel to it than the one that I bought in the last 2 - 3 years. It’s worlds apart.

This happened to mine (bought in 2011) recently and I took it to Chanel and they fixed it for me free of charge. I also had to get the CC hardware changed as the silver underneath was showing. This cost 60. Sad to say I’m not going to buy anymore bags from the boutique due to the price increases and decline in quality: Get it vintage, much better quality and better value for money.
I think this is a common issue judging by others who have have shared similar experiences. Honestly it’s just really disappointing that they reduce quality just to increase profit despite the massive price increases. I hope you continue to love and enjoy the bag without any future problems.
Vintage is the way to go. Bigger companies buying smaller companies to make everything bigger and faster. Quality is replaced with quantity. The fact that the bag she initially looked out was clearly faulty but somehow managed to slip its way to a boutique speaks volume about quality control. It's happening in many types of business...just mass produce it fast. Vintage is the only way to go now.
I would love a follow up video about what the quality control person says! Anything you spend that much money on is a big deal and being upset that it isn't holding up is totally understandable, I would be too.

I have found that any purse, regardless of brand (or lack there-of) made from stiff material and has narrow compartments like you have shown, will crack or de-thread where it bends or folds. I remember when I went to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas about 15 years ago seeing those Channel bags for $1,300. I thought they were steep then, and the quality felt 10 times nicer than they do now. They had an incredible weight distribution to them that doesn't exist now.
I mean, $1300 is still too expensive for a bag but shit, compared to the nearly 10g's they want today, that was a bargain then. I think the difference is, youtube influencers took over (like the Kardash family) and the reality tv show women like Real Housewives. They all like to wear labels all the time, it was free advertising to big names. Then everyone wanted one...then they had to start mass producing them. Not sure what is really made in Italy anymore...but I am certain most things are not.
Such price for JUST a bag is ridiculous. Even if you have a lot of money why pay so much? If you are rich and everybody in your social circle have Chanel bag it doesn’t make you stand out or whatever. It’s just like being a student and have Zara bag.
I had serious quality issue my medium classic flap cavier with gold hardwear bought straight from Chanel boutique. One month after the purchase, the gold color from the front knob had come off in part and I could clearly see the silver color underneath. I took it back to the store and they acknowleged it was a problem and offered a full refund or exchange even after the 30- days return period had passed.
Hi Blessy after having aprrox 80 Chanel bags in my very long life, I can say the side stitch coming lose is nothing to worry about. It happens all the time. You can go and have it fixed while you wait at Luxury Bag Repairs 19 North End Road Fulham, it cost s£50 and he has fixed this exact problem for me many times. Or there is Chanel Care and Repair on the 5th floor of Harrods, they are so lovely and helpful there. It will be a quick & free repair. Once it is back you will be in love with Chanel again. The course of true love never runs smooth, as they say. Harrods Chanel Care and Repair have changed the locks on approx 7 of my bags and hardware etc some of these bags are over 25 years old. They look after their customers!

Hi Blessy, all my purchases were many years ago but they still treat me very well. The stitch does not effect the integrity of the bag at all. It’s not like a bad scuff or a rip. Your bag will be stunning for another 30 years and you’re young enough to enjoy it for that long. X

Agreed 100%. The vintage Chanel bags are worth it but the new ones are so not they are literally no different to high grade fake which you can buy for about $200-$300. Totally not an investment but a great waste of money feeding the ‘monster’ investors in these luxury brands
That doesn’t only happens with Chanel. It’s happening with all “luxury” brands. They simply just don’t care at all. They know that they will sell everything so they just keep increasing their prices and lowering their quality to have a bigger profit, and people will continue buying because basically most of the new customers want to show off what their buying, or simply buy to resell (same thing with watches). These type of brands are not what they used to be. They are no longer exclusive, they no longer offer quality or a good buying experience. Before they use to give a high quality service, now you have to wait outside as you were going to buy potatoes at a marketplace. And finally, don’t worry about saying that you are not materialistic, even you were. You are saying something fair.
These brands know that people will still buy their products just because of the name lol If you were smart with your money, you wouldn't consider ever buying the real thing- just buy a knockoff. The truth is no one is going to know the difference anyways!

The same thing happened to my seasonal flap bag from Chanel. I got it repaired for free under the warranty and then I sold it. It wasn’t worth keeping, because I’d worry about it happening again after the warranty was gone.

The crazy thing is that they replied to me saying the are happy to offer me a free repair. But isn’t that what the warranty is for? They make it sound like they are doing me a favour 🤯

I love how honest you are about everything. when someone is carrying a *topluxs* and you pass them on the street no one can tell whether is fake or real one because you cannot do this much analysis on it. what I hate about LV and why I stopped buying them is that many people assume your bag is fake when they pass you on the street. It's very annoying. one time a woman walked up to me and actually asked me if my bag was "real". after spending almost 2K on a bag and being asked that question was so offensive i stopped carrying them. People look more at the person carrying the bag and assume wrongly whether is real or fake. it is extremely annoying
I own a Chanel WOC and the leather 'ripped' off and this has never happened to my other 'luxury' bags and I do take care of my bags relatively well. I took the bag back to Chanel store hoping they will repair the bag and the whole process took them 6 months to sort. During the 6 months, no one contacted me and I had to pay the store a visit x3 (not happy especially when you're paying a premium price, you would expect customer service) ! Honestly, for the poor customer service and poor made quality bags, I would much rather spend it on other brands with better craftsmanship and good customer service.

I'm a fan of LV and Gucci, I bought my partner a Gucci bum bag and had to go through 4 of them to pick one that's with less flaws. LV bags are okay so far. But I agree, all the designer bags quality is going down hill while the price is going up, the brands are not even worth it anymore.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I have my mini flap that I used to death and have not experienced anything like this. Also, my jumbo flap bought in 2015 and never had any issues. I hate that newer bag’s quality is so bad.

You should have bougt a vintage one. The quality is insane! Your bag is nice but there is nothing special in it. Cavior leather looks cheap and exactly the same like the bags I saw in a market in Turkey. The same leather, the same look ,the same quality. What's the point to pay sooo much when you can't see any difference. Sorry to say but If I met you in the street I would probably think that you had bought it somewhere in Turkey.

I have many bags from Aspinal and Mulberry and find the quality of them far superior to many of the higher level bags. I can imagine how disappointing this experience has been, I know I'd have felt the same. I was considering getting the same bag, more so as an investment piece, but now am thinking twice ☹

Ugh so sorry to hear that! I just bought a WOC and wore it once to Target. The back Mona Lisa pocket popped a stitch in the same place Kiki’s did. I had to pay for insurance + s&h bc I live over 3 hours away from my closest Chanel and couldn’t drive in. They still have my money and my WOC that I bought for my bday and I would suspect they prolly sold it to me damaged and I didn’t catch it in the store.

That's really helpful information. I was at DBX Airport. They were selling Medium Classic lamb skin for 7800. I was about to but don't know why I didn't I thought I better get Cartier love bracelet in that price.

I’m glad you didn’t pull the trigger on the classic flap! It’s bet treetops to get a vintage one instead . Or you can get an Hermés for that price and the quality won’t let you down! A Cartier bracelet is also another great alternative of course that will never tarnish like a Chanel bag. ❤

@@BlessyRoyy please know the space you called a "compartment" is NOT meant for anything at all to go inside it. This is just where the 2 flaps meet and are stitched together. If you have been putting "small notes" in there, you may have caused the stitches to pop. Your hands going in & out of this space can be the cause.b

The video showcased us that section of the bag is not meant for anything, and that she did not introduce there anything. Sticking the fingers was ment for demonstration purposes, do not jump to pinpoint the client is at fault, as if your were a sales person working on commission. If yes, just say it.

I bought my classic flap (identical to yours) in 2020 and the quality is great. Sadly, I bought a mini flap bag in lamb skin last year and it started showing signs of wear after two wears ☹️ I’m now too scared to wear it as the leather is literally rubbing off on the back pocket 🥺
Omg I’m so sorry to hear this. You must be heartbroken 😢 When I went to buy mine, I did consider buying lamb skin as it’s so soft and buttery but I was just too scared. But hey, even though I bought caviar, I’m still having problems. So it’s not us, it’s their product. Have you tried taking it back to show them? They might be able to suggest something?
Hi Margaux, if it makes you feel any better, I’ve had the same problem with my bag, which is also a mini flap but in caviar leather. I took it back to the Chanel store (and there is no Chanel store in my country so I had to wait until I went overseas). First they tried to charge me for someone to have a look at the bag to see if they could repair it…In the end they waived that fee. My bag has now been sent of to Paris for repair. So maybe take your bag back to the store. It is a real shame that Chanel, a brand we all equated with quality and was something special, appears to be no longer that. I hope they can fix your bag for you
@@BlessyRoyy I’m planning on taking bag to the Chanel ‘care and repair’ centre in Harrods (next to the Chanel shoe store on the 5th floor). They don’t actually repair anything there, but they’ll inspect your bag and decide whether it needs to be sent to France for repair. I genuinely think Chanel had issues with their leather for some of the bags manufactured during the pandemic.

I really really wanted to get a chanel bags but I have seen a lot of bad reviews with the quality 😔 I have louis vuitton's but never give me problems ( so far ). To be honest, my coach bags and dooney & bourke brands have more quality than chanel. It's just my opinion 🤷😊✌️

The quality of Chanel has been rubbish for a while now. They don't even gold plate their hardware with 24k gold anymore. You're better off buying real vintage, pre 2000s.
But with the hikes and the crappy quality Chanel is becoming a brand to skip completely. It's become cheap ( and yet so expensive at the same time)
I agree with you! Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of the flat quilting that the vintage ones have, hence why I went for a new one but it totally wasn’t worth compromising the quality for.

The *yutulu* bags are gorgeous in their size, weight and color. Bought pink, cream and blue. I think I might go back and order the light lilac, light blue and red. I own some high priced designer handbags, but I like these even more!
I walk into Chanel stores only handful of times during and after covid, I didn’t look at the price tag, but the leather feel too much processing so it feels plasticky, I had vintage pieces from my mum, they definitely feel much better and not a stray thread for one of them being same age as me 37 lol (push gift from my dad back then) their quality feels like Kate spade now and they are focusing to create trends than classic pass down to your daughter kind of bag
I feel your disappointment and emotional pain with the brand. I bought my jumbo preowned. It’s from year 2015. I watched your video and rushed to inspect mine. Luckily, I haven’t had any issues, but this gives me a distrust feeling about my bag. Do I have to start babying it? I’m glad you disclose your issues publicly. The message will get through when more people do it. I will be sure to share the same if the quality issues happen to mine in the future.

Here in the US, there is a problem with knockoffs being sold at the designer stores. It is crazy. People are returning knockoffs and keeping the originals. They are so good that the SA cannot tell.

It's funny but, I bought a 1:1 Chanel replica and an original, and the original looks like the one you'd expect the replica to be. Chanel is a crazy thing.

But I don't want to spend so much money now, I have bought the bag I want from *topluxs* , it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability

I just bought a smaller size last week in a new color. It’s a similar color to my Birkin 25 Beton, but that’s okay! My bag doesn’t have the chain strap. I love the look of the chain and the simplicity and lightness of the braided strap. Love that color too. I wanted a small carry-on bag and love the *topluxs* , it’s so classy.
What I do love is that even with a vintage Chanel, you can send it in and they repair for free. I recently had a vintage tote repaired there. You won't have to pay anything.
Oh really? I didn’t know this. You certainly have to pay for the hardware if you want to get it repaired or replaced in the new ones. I guess this isn’t the issue with the older ones anyway.
@@BlessyRoyy Yes my vintage tote has gold chain and it broke. They replaced it no questions asked. It did take a couple of months to get it back but it was a very easy procedure
I'm very happy with the *rrcopys* package. Beautiful storage compartments. Looks and feels like leather. The shoulder straps and zipper are of high quality. Very happy with the purchase.

I used to own exactly the same classic flap which I purchased in 2019. Fortunately, I didn't come across the same problems like you and my friends did. One of my friends got her first one in a beige color last year, ran into the same "thread came loose" problem only after one day of use, and had to have her bag replaced as well. I'm sorry to see that you had to go through the same problem. Are the classic flap bags still good investments in general? I would think "yes". But, as a bag lover myself, is it heartbreaking to have to experience this? Absolutely yes. **sob**

I have never owned a Chanel bag because. This was my first bag so I wouldn’t know but I have heard that quality has massively declined in more recent years.
I personally didn’t buy the bag as an investment but I don’t think they are worth it anymore.

I have been purchasing Chanel classics since 2014 and agree that the quality has substantially deteriorated. My bags from 2014/2015 don’t have any issues but the ones from 2020 onward do. The prices are not justified! I guess a pre loved market may be the way to go for anyone that really wants one.

I’m currently escalating the issue to a higher level within the company as the response I have received so far has not been satisfactory.
I agree, the prices are steep and it’s frustrating when the quality doesn’t match up. I also think someone who wants a Chanel bag should consider the pre-loved market instead. Chanel quality dropped since 2008 so better buy a knock off because they have the same quality and the price is like 100 pounds. Also the quality of fakes are getting better and better too! U can use the money to invest in other things.
So true. I bought a knock off without the CC on it for $67 USD. It is so nice and just as good as the real ones. The leather is amazing and real.
I never reach into the back of that slot. The stitching hasn't come off in the last 5 years on mine. However if you do use that pocket often, it will come loose. And restitching it is foc anyway. It isn't a quality issue, more of wear and tear.
Despite the ridiculous price increase along with quality decrease, people are still buying it. Chanel could only care less.

Have you considered a vintage bag? I have one I bought about 25 years ago and it is mint and the quality issues are not there.
Hi the vintage ones I came a tweet years older and unfortunately I’m not a fan of the flat quilting most of them have. But apparently the quality only declined after 2018 so once I know what’s happening to my bag, I could consider buying one that is before 2018 which should have the padded quilting I prefer.
@@BlessyRoyy Mine is not flat. It is pump and the leather is caviar. I choose the silver finish. It is stunning and frankly so well made. It is what you'd expect of Chanel. I wish you luck in finding your dream purse and I agree with you that for the prices they are commanding they need to do better.

@@BlessyRoyy it is dissapointing. I was in the store once and they brought out 3 classic flap in baby blue, black and beige and they all have stitching issue. One yes I can understand, but all 3 bags - they have quality control issue.
Also don't buy any bag that has an over spray. A friend of mine bought a chromy finish bag in pink and purple and the overspray was peeling off within 6 months and she used it twice. Chanel took no responsibility for it either. They said they will send it back to H.O for inspection and see if it can be repaired. 12 weeks later, unfortunately - you can't repair an overspray. No offer of anything for compensation.

I have one chanel bag and it's the 19, the model i have came out in 2019
It seems like 2020, the quality really, really went down. As much as i love chanel bags, i won't buy them bc the risk is way to high. Chanel quality issues are ALL over the internet-- that's all i see, i don't see anyone talking about chanwl having good quality anymore

You're paying for the logo not the quality. There's loads of European small leather company goods that make higher quality goods than Chanel, Dior, Hermes etc but they aren't easily recognizable and they are not status symbols. Instead of buying a chanel bag put that money in a bond, CD, index fund, 401k, Ira even an online high saving interest account. So much better useage of your money.
Thank for sharing! I purchased a boy bag in Chicago and had to take it back the next day. There were several defects including hardware disproportioned and a pop stitched. I did not notice it until I went home in a very well lit area in the house to view the bag. The SA who sold it to me said the bag was pristine. Took it back the next day and showed them the pictures/the bag. Return went very well. Repurchased in TX taxes much cheaper.
It’s a hype! As long as people willing to spend the $$ they will keep increasing the price. Ahh and people should stop saying it’s a good investment in the long run!
