    heart: I want a V8 mercedes
    brain: you need a hybrid lexus
    wallet: best I can do is 20 year old civic with rust problems

      This is me right now, only difference is instead of the civic mine is. Wallet: keep the 14 year old dirty VW diesel.

    My 2009 1.9tdi manual vw mpv gives approx 41 mpg or 6.8/100km.Its amazing that a 2.5 petrol hybrid does almost the same! Well done lexus 👏

    Cost saving CVT? It's not cost saving, it's comfort, simplicity and reliability. CVT fits hybrids like a glove.

      The CVT doesnt bother me in my IS

      The hybrid is the cvt. Jesus. Nobody takes the time to understand the tech. This guy can’t call himself a journalist

    Why on earth do petrol head reviewers always feel the need to compare every new car with German made cars ?
    I have also yet to hear one say that they like CVT gearboxes. (which are brilliant)

    • @batman51

      And why always the F Sport version which is the least likely one most people will buy.

      Because the German brands are the standard to beat.

      Because german cars are the best...

    • @Vikdam

      @@bdbda851 yea... The best cars that break down after a couple of years. Don't get me wrong, they used to make them great, but now they're just unreliable cars riddled with problems. IMO the Japanese (toyota and honda) are the only companies that can say we make the best cars.

      @@Vikdam you are right. buuuut japanese cars are realiabile but very bad cuality. I own japanese cars..

    You just made my mind up for me.... it was this or the CT200... I’m going with the IS F. Nice informative vid. Thanks 👍

      How's the car so far, I've heard mixed reviews. Some say the CT200 compared to the IS is a less smooth drive. Any truth to this? Depends if you have driven both. Thanks

      @@1slamExplained I cant recommend the 300h FSport enough. Smooth powerful and fun. Also a cut above the 3 series and C class IMHO. Of course it’s a higher level to the CT and the GS would be even smoother, I would think.

    The top 3 Germans killer 👍🚗

    It’s too firm only cause it’s pointless F Sport version. Get any other version of the IS and the suspension will be nice and comfy but still good handling. I purposefully didn’t pick the F Sport when I bought my 2020 IS 300h.

    • @gregoryj8202
      @gregoryj8202 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its a Lexus, so by definition it will never be too firm. Just a stupid talking point car reviewers keep parrotting.
      I have the F-sport version of the 300h. Choose it after a test drive with a Luxury Line version. Its just a smooth attractive version of the 300h.

    A sport car should let you feel the road. That is the fun! If you want a comfy car that feels like you front room sofa why would you buy an F sport ahah.. Good review otherwise!

  • @4DModding

    The transmission whines. Too stiff on the F sport. Not very economical either (6.5l/100km!) Not getting great reviews 3.5 stars.)

      c class hardly good looking, whilst the audi has clean lines, the bmw's are too fussy especially at the front.

      CDModelz You can't drive a hybrid car like a normal car. Wanna save fuel? Slamming that accelerator won't help. I got 50 average mpg on my 300h so idk how ur driving lmao

    • @paulm2467
      @paulm2467 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Transmission doesn't whine, have you heard a diesel? Incredibly quiet and comfortable ride. It's way better than the Germans because it lasts forever, has better resale values, is as quick and economical without polluting as much and it is getting far better reviews from the public as opposed to the so called experts.

    • @mdo
      @mdo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not a whine, it's due to how it works. When you floor it it puts the engine at peak power and varies the gear ration. It's how a proper CVT is designed to work.

    • @WanderingFriar
      @WanderingFriar 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You drive a hybrid differently to a regular petrol. Had mine for a year now and its great. With gentle acceleration I generally forget to fill up as it just goes on forever. It is still a 2.5 ltr car so does move if you want it to.
      For ‘spirited weekend driving’ I have my BMW Z4M Roadster.
