Even after defeating Odin, surviving Ragnarok, and finding some semblance of peace for Kratos, this ending reminds that even these great things did not come without a price

The lyrics "I will see you soon" hurt the most because...well, Brok will never know peace, he'll never go to Alfheim with Sindri.

Dwarfs do not go to Valhalla after death . They go into the light of Alfheim.
I don't think we should feel bad for Brock, he died happy, forgiving his brother, it's Sindri who is broken because he lost forever the most important person in his life, and this changed him😢

@@HHfan-sx9qj that would be the case for others but brok can’t go to Lake of Alfheim because he’s missing a piece of his soul. he’s apparently denied an afterlife.

@MiStErLaZy 935 I know, but Brock didn't care about the fate of his soul. The only thing he cared about was his brother to get over his death, but as we all saw, Sindri is not ready yet.

Knowing the lyrics and knowing that Brok isn’t going to be able to find that eternal rest, and that Sindri will never see him again….god, now I’m emotional all over again

    "Cattle die and kinsmen die,
    thyself too soon must die,
but one thing never, I ween, will die,
fair fame of one who has earned.
    Cattle die and kinsmen die,
    thyself too soon must die,
but one thing never, I ween, will die,
the doom on each one dead.." Havamal, v.75 and 76.
In the game, Birgir quotes this word for word as he sacrifices himself to slay the wyverns during the rescue of Freyr.

As Kratos said, wars are won by those who are willing to sacrifice everything and sindri have sacrificed so much for what. For odino brok was really the only one to understand odino's plans was considered more stupid but inside he was wiser. It gets bigger when you take more off, Brok knew that. And you know what destroys you, that it can never go alfheim ne hell ne. Valhalla you feel broken know this when a god of war comes out we will be atreus i kratos no other blacksmith will be like state brok and sindri.

When i think about it Sindri is not mad at Kratos and Atreas for Brok's death he blames himself for the fact that he couldn't get all of brok's soul back the first time. Since Brok died the first time Sindri could only get some of Brok's soul and now Brok can't find peace in the light of Alfhiem . So he puts is anger out on Atreas but only because he failed to save Brok the first time and now he failed him twice

@@Murderdroneslover1arguably the worst part of it. Whenever Sindri dies, he’ll still be without Brok, and he’ll have to process that it’s HIS fault brok’s not there with him for presumably eternity. In saving brok’s (partial) soul in alfheim, Sindri inadvertently damned himself to an inevitable eternity of suffering without his brother.
That’s why I don’t blame him for how he acts in the late game, he’s coming to terms with something THAT HORRIFIC on top of many other things. Frankly I’d criticize the writing if he DIDN’T become an absolute wreck lashing out in every direction after brok’s death.

Hopefully they do a dlc where they try and find brok’s soul. Or at least get amends and forge a new friendship with kratos and Atreus. But having a dlc is pretty slim to none. And that would defeat the purpose of killing brok.

@@Murderdroneslover1its brok’s riddle. Prior to his death, brok posits Mimir with a riddle: “what gets bigger the more you take away?” Mimir ponders this over the course of several missions, coming up will all kinds of metaphysical and metaphorical solutions only for brok to tell him he’s wrong. After his death and funeral, (I can’t quite remember if it was Mimir or kratos) says “a hole. A hole gets bigger the more you take away” (obviously meant to reference the utterly massive hole left in Sindri after losing brok)
