He sings this song with so much feeling it makes you feel it right down to the tip of your toes!! Once again, this is why he is THE KING!❤🎉😢❤ Thank you so much!!!
I thank you for acknowledging what you're learning from us Elvis fans. I'll add that I'm learning from you as well (and I go back to the beginning as a teenager when he came into our world & changed it forever). Your sensitivity to the nuances of his & his group's performances & his personality is so enjoyable. You seem to "get him" without knowing all the details of his life that us devoted fans have learned from a lifetime of watching & reading. I'm really enjoying your reactions.
FANTASTIC reaction as always! Love hearing your thoughts. This song is so beautiful and Elvis sings it with such passion as he always does. His voice is impeccable! Love when he shakes like that when he knows how good he sounds. He also looks gorgeous 😍 TCB ⚡👑🌹
When Elvis sings this song he turns it to a magnificent melancholy masterpiece that haunts and thrills you to the very core of your being and sends shivers down your spine. I don't know how else to describe it but I totally love it!!! I could actually see and even hear shivers going through Elvis as he was singing - that is just how intense his passion and emotions are in this performance and well this is how he makes every song he sings his own!!!! Elvis is just out of this world!! Only Elvis!!! Thank you so much for your reactions - for a novice you sure go into the very depth of each performance with much wisdom and understanding!!
Elvis once said this song was the saddest song he had ever sung. There is a book written in 1987 titled "Are you Lonesome tonight" that has resurfaced about Elvis early singing years. It's a fascinating story about his early years. It's gives you another whole new perspective on his life. Thank you Mike for sharing another great performance...
He just has a way. You never saw yhe same performance twice with Elvis even when he sang the same songs. There is something in the way that he sang and performed this song that is so hauntingly beautiful. Great reaction.
Hi Mike! I so enjoy your reactions. As said by others-you are picking up on all the nuances that make Elvis a great performer and communicator. I think Elvis related to these songs of loneliness-from his singing Old Shep as a 10 year old, to his last performances-they resonated with him. He may have felt this loneliness due to being a twin without his twin. Whatever drew him to these kind of songs his performances, and the beauty of them is ironically because he did not see himself as a lone performer--he always wanted to sing in a group with others. His great appreciation for his fellow musicians and what they and the audience create together is in juxtaposition to the song. Elvis was an example of the great tension that always exists between the individual and the community-this is not to be at odds but rather as Elvis demonstrates in harmony-making the individual and the community greater than they could be because of the interaction, interdependence, and collaboration. God is teaching us something through him.
Absolutely Magnificent!! Love this song and Elvis puts so much heart and soul into this song!! To me there was nor ever will be anyone else like him!! Elvis had everything!! Irreplaceable!! Thank you as always I Love Your Reactions to Elvis!! The King of Music!! He shall Forever be a Legend, He shall always be the undisputed 🤴!!❤❤❤❤️🔥❤️🔥
Great reaction, as always. Unlike (I think) all musical groups, Elvis has his backup singers not behind him, but to his left, perpendicular to him. That's why you'll see him, almost always, singing and facing that way. It seems to me that this is his way of seeking support and approval, and even joking with some of them. ¡Saludos desde Chile!
Mike! I follow alot of reactors, but after hearing your reactions to Elvis I have come to learn that most of them are just their opinions of what they react to.Im sure that most of your followers are in their70's 80's and yes, some 90's. And we appreciate your true input of Elvis. Most of us understand everything you articulate but can't put into words how we feel. With over 800 songs don't know if most of us will be around for the end but I wait impatiently for you next Elvis take. Your the best
Funny whenever I have seen this video, he makes it so believable because I think he internally means every word of this song. And that’s the sadness of it in its beauty there’s such sadness.
Thank you for the wonderful reaction. The most famous performer in the world sings about the fact that he is so lonely that he wants to 😢. This song is very consonant with his state🤨Mike, what prevents you from watching this concert at home in the home theater? 😉
I’ve heard this a couple thousand times (along with the rehearsal and other versions from 73). Not a favorite of mine. Worth listening to as is the great majority of the EP catalog.
Bruce Springsten decided to be a musician when he, a a kid, wacth ElVIS performance at Ed Salivan show It would be very fun to reacto to 2 clips of Bruce Springsteen talking about ElVIS a) a very fanny story of him telling how he tried to meet Elvis ,when he became famous th-cam.com/video/mbXCfpYZwIk/w-d-xo.html and b)him talking about Elvis infuence th-cam.com/video/hHOd4xhAdDY/w-d-xo.html

Awesome 🔥🔥🔥
Before he starts singing he states this is one of the saddest songs he’s ever heard…
