Elvis had gorgeous deep blue eyes....they changed shade depending on angles and emotions. Imagine how stunning he was to actually look at.....no wonder we cry when he does, laugh when he does. Power of his magnetism. Great song 💯⚡❤️
Love this song ❤. Elvis sang Blue eyes crying in the rain and unchained melody at the piano after playing racketball (squash ) just hours before he died ❤️🩹
I love this song. So sorrowful and lovely. He had the perfect voice for this, he had the perfect voice for everything though! Whenever I hear this song I listen to it over and over! Volcano for sure for me!
Blue Eyes Crying in the rain & unchained melody were the last songs he played on his piano at Graceland as per Elvis's first cousin Billy Smith and Wife Jo they lived on the grounds of Graceland in a doublewide they had been playing racketball - IF you want to hear great stories about Elvis check out their channel - Elvis Fans Matter- Billy is the last surviving Original Memphis Mafia Member ------- My Daddy sang this song too all the time was his favorite he loved both Elvis' and Willie's versions Thanks --- Seph
Oh Seph Touching reaction and Yes The Elvis as you've said before can make you feel sad. One of the very last songs he sang (mixed with Gospel numbers) and played on the piano in the early hours of the fateful night he died, but that doesn't mean (as some have suggested) he was sad himself maybe 9 or 10 hours later when he did pass away. I know it's sad to talk about that 'last' night but it could be a 'good thing' that he was singing (mainly) gospel songs with that piano AND THEN when he was found Elvis was clutching a book on The Shroud Of Turin, which scientists have found (by doing now what they couldn't do then) is a genuine item of clothing that Jesus was wrapped in.❤🔥
As others have already said, this is said to be the last song he ever sang. He'd played racquetball with some friends in the early hours of the morning after coming back from a visit to the dentist. Then they sat with him at the piano in the little lounge area of his racquetball building at Graceland while he played and sang a few songs and they have said that this was the last one he sang before going back into the house and going to bed. I love this song and it has special meaning knowing that it's the last one he sang - especially as the lyrics talk about meeting again 'up yonder'.
If you're an Elvis fan, it's hard not to be sad at the loss of Elvis. But while he had a lot of sadness and turmoil in his life, he also had a lot of joy and fun and laughter. He was a complicated man who lived a great big life and packed a lot of living into his 42 years.
My blue eyes cry when I hear this one, thinking of him singing it on August 16, 1977. It is so sad. It is also very beautiful. I appreciate your reaction, Seph.❤❤❤
Dont be sad, Seph! When you've finished reacting to all his songs, you can always go back and play some of them again that were originally recorded by other artists and compare them side by side to see how you feel about Elvis' version versus the original artist's recording. There's a lot of Elvis' covers to compare! When you see what he did with songs compared to the original versions, he's even more amazing the way he reinterprets songs and performs them in his own style! 👑
Hey Seph, I was here when he left us and that is the day the world stood Still, I was only 17 years old and I know that so many people don't understand how or why he means so much to me and I say that if you are a true Elvis fan, no explanation is necessary, if you aren't,, then I say that you will never get the way he can touch your heart and soul in so many ways and he always said he wanted to make sure that everyone believes he is singing to them alone and he never stopped giving of himself to the very end and that is a day I don't like to relive, the day he took a Huge part of me when he left us and I promise you that there are millions more people across the world who feel just like me. Thanks Seph for another great reaction to Elvis, the one who changed the course of History in so many ways. TCB 1935
This song was written in 1945 by Fred Rose, composer in the country field. Roy Acuff and the Smoky Moutains are the first to record it. In 1975 Willie Nelson recorded it. This song has the sad particularity of having been one of the last sung by Elvis alone on the piano on the morning of August 16.
For me the Seph this is up in A or B as I know this was the last song the Elvis sang snd played at home on his piano he was reciting this, beautifully sang aswell. TCB&TLC
This is a song from my childhood, first sung by Elton Britt in 1947, then Roy Acuff in 1949. Many country artists covered it, including Willie Nelson. It was written by Fred Rose. This is one of the very first songs I remember before I was even10 years old. It will always have a soft spot in my heart, even though its not my favorite.
Just a suggestion, Seph: as a part of your Elvis journey, I think you'd enjoy listening to recordings by the original artists that Elvis later covered. While Elvis often "goosed them up" (his words), he actually slowed "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" down and definitely brought the Elvis emotion into it. And let's give him a shout-out for recognizing how much background singers would enhance the overall feeling of his recordings and performances.
Come on man. Don’t beat around the bush. Your interest and followers must come from Depeche devotion. A plead to do more regularly even if you do a second reaction? Why not We are all waiting for the night to fall!!!!! 🥀
Willie Nelson recorded an exquisite version of "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" that became a hit in 1975. It featured a stripped down arrangement of just an acoustic guitar with occasional punctuations of accordion. Willie's voice, expressive and somber, is at once irresistible and heartbreaking. If you have yet to hear his version, you owe it to yourself to listen to it. It really is something special. By comparison, Elvis's version is rockin' and raucous. His full-throated delivery and exaggerated vibrato processed to the hilt with a dramatic delay effect feels downright sacrilegious next to Willie's gentle, introspective approach. The bombastic backing track, while supremely performed with pounding piano and blistering lead guitar, is also similarly out-of-place, incongruous with the spirit of the song. Elvis recorded his version in February of 1976, so he almost certainly was well aware of Willie's version. Perhaps Elvis was purposely attempting to distance his interpretation from Willie's, so much so that he went a bit too far in the opposite direction, missing the mark completely.
This song makes me sad because it displays Elvis near his worst and that makes me sad. Always hated this song. It’s dated and his performance is subpar. The arrangement doesn’t work. Weak. This was the first Elvis album I purchased and was so disappointed when I first listened to it. I grew to appreciate a handful of the cuts, but there are some clunkers for sure.

Best version of "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" bar none.
Beautiful but so sad!❤😢🎉! Love this! ❤❤❤❤!
BEAUTIFUL SAD😢😢😢❤
Love this song ❤. Elvis sang Blue eyes crying in the rain and unchained melody at the piano after playing racketball (squash ) just hours before he died ❤️🩹
This is a sad song, however, his voice is sublime. Back up singers are world class too. 🎶🎧
Es lo último que cantó sentado al piano en su casa.... pero sigue vivo en nosotros.... 4:23
Great song, great vocal backing and guitar, yes full of melancholy, and to me a combination of Soul, Blues, and Country the way EP sings it.

I can’t see Elvis playing racketball on the Eve of his death. He was way too sick.
I like this song more than I actually thought I did, really great, but sad😢
Yes! We're back on the train! Bittersweet lyrics, nice arrangement, love the vocal. Not in my Top 50, but I never skip this one.

Du er ikke i nærheden af at være færdig ❤
Det er så mange live optrædener koncerter og rehearsels du slet ikke har berørt endnu 🙏🎶

Love, love it. Sorry, but better than Willie Nelson. Man, I love Elvis.
Was it Willie Nelson?
