Elvis has to be rolling over in his grave about the state of today’s music. Auto tune and pitch correction use are out of control. If you couldn’t sing in the 50s-90s, you had no business in front of a microphone. The really talented great singers would never need to use auto tune!
Yeah, we know, auto tune sux🙄. Also, I don't know who came up with that expression, but if someone's rolling in their grave, it would suggest they'd been buried alive. It's just always sounded strange to me.
@LeroyPugh What’s really upsetting is that record labels just basically use that software on everything now. It can “improve” the voice of an artist that is just an average singer and can take away the details and nuances of an outstanding, unique vocal and pretty much make it a level playing field for everyone. That apparently is the reasoning as to why it’s unfortunately become pretty much an industry standard. That’s why great young singers can sound better live than the studio recording. Of course that is if they are actually singing live and not just lip syncing to a (probably altered) backing track which also happens a lot these days.
We live in the days of homely movie stars..no glamour and all plastic surgeries and ho hum entertainers.Michael Jackson lip synched. He could not dance and sing simultaneously.
Elvis wss born in 1935 so he would be 90 yrs. old today. Hard to believe. He is such an iconic entertainer, larger than life. I'm so glad for reaction channels because now younger generations are discovering the music of my generation and are embracing and appreciating it. You had to have talent back then. Unfortunately today just about anyone can use auto tune and electronically contrived music and record songs. Thanks for keeping your channel going. You look so much happier in spirit. There is still so much out there for you to discover.
My Great Aunt who is 98 years young, told me all about seeing him in concert in the early 70’s. She told me he was the most handsome man she has ever seen. It was adorable just listening to her story about him.
Don't be such a downer, @@Saranda4787. When someone says that a person is 98 (or whatever age) years "young," it's implying that they are young at heart... and it's said with love, so please don't be so judgemental.
I just wanted to give her the respect she deserves. I was always taught to be respectful of my elders I had a delightful lunch with her in a restaurant a couple of weeks ago. I would be thrilled to be able to be around in good shape at almost 100 to see my family’s future generations. Plus, she has a heart of gold.
I'm sure Elvis would agree with Seger " Todays music ain't got the same soul, give me that old time 60's, 70's, 80's Rock n Roll" Fappy Birthday Elvis!
I'm not quite old enough to remember when Kennedy was shot but older people have told me they knew where they were when they heard the news he was shot. I remember the moment when I heard the news that Elvis had died.
I am 65 years old , and I was raised on the music of ELVIS . My mother had a picture of me on my fifth birthday , with my cake , miniature golf clubs , and Elvis haircut . The BEATLES were all the rage , but at five the KING was still the THE KING . Thank you very much .
I remember being a small child and loving Elvis. When he got married I cried because he did not wait for me to grow up. I had an uncle who looked a lot like Elvis and he would but on Elvis records and sing and dance for me. Thanks for the memories since I have so few left.
I was fortunate enough to see Elvis twice in concert. First 1975 and February 1977. I toured Graceland 1997 and all were the best thing ever happened to me. Happy birthday to the King
In 70'my neighbors asked me over for dinner & to meet their cousin who was coming to visit that weekend. I decided to visit my family in another state that weekend. Imagine my surprise when I opened the paper on Monday & saw pictures of Elvis & my neighbors playing football & wrestling in the yard. I was so PO'd because I didn't think to ask who their cousin was.
YES, this is a great Elvis song. Of course he has unlimited songs. In The Ghetto is also one of my faves like you. Elvis was SO HUGE, not only ALL of his songs but his 31 movies as well. Keep em coming!
Yeah man. it's a real cool song. One of his 21 No 1 hits In England. But more in America. Elvis said ''it would be foolish not to change with the music. so he would've had today's sound but I don't know what. More than likely would master it, Just like he always did.
When my 20-somethong kids were toddler-preschool ages, I had the cd of Elvis' hits in our minivan player. They loved this song and sang along! Elvis has the most amazing voice! Love your reaction, Jay!
The King is dead…but he's not forgotten. Bill, Bernie and Florence were a songwriting team that were basically the house writers for Elvis's film career. Remember, Elvis spent a decade primarily appearing in musicals rather than making albums. Often times, the lead single would be by more famous writers (Doc Pomus and Mort Shulman, Lieber & Stoller, etc), but you need to fill out the soundtrack, and so this trio always got a song or two in there. This was their big hit. Elvis is (er "would be") 90 this year. ;) ************ On a different note, watching the fires in Los Angeles has been utterly horrific. Thanks for providing such wonderful content.
I was 8 years old when the song was released. Didn't really get the meaning at the time; just loved the sound of it and of course, knew the main lines of "look like an angel, walk like an angel, talk like an angel but I got wise, you're the devil in disguise oh yes you are..." It is one catchy song! My mom was a big Elvis fan as were my 2 older sisters and my older brother so I was pretty much born an Elvis fan...heard his music a Lot. Thanks for doing this on Elvis's birthday.
Elvis would probably not understand why artists would allow auto tune and such technical alterations to their performance. But, I think he would also say there's room for everyone. He always respected other artists and entertainers.
Yeah, that's actually a stand-up bass that you are hearing. This is one of his rockabilly songs, and maybe I'm biased because I played in a rockabilly band for a while when I was pretty much exactly your age. And I love all of his stuff, but I really really love this kind of thing from him. I love this song, and then another one that's even more rambunctious with a bit more of a harder guitar edge to it and stuff, is "Hard Headed Woman". It's really playful and funny with the lyrics, but it really is also a tour de force with heavy rockabilly vibes.
For one of the coolest Elvis songs, as well as one of the most underrated, check out Animal Instinct; great vocals and some of the most unique instrumentals ever!
I think Elvis would have been supportive of artist today even if it wasn't maybe his favorite he liked many genres of music and supported other artist even back then ..
Alot of people smile to cover pain. Only the course of life can make you happy or sad. I wish you the best and for the most part happiness in your life journey 💯💯😌😌
Some of my favorites are America Trilogy, Amazing Grace, In the Ghetto, there are so many Elvis songs to choose in the library. Elvis would be 90 today.
I am so happy that you are getting back to the beginning of your channel when it was just you. I’ve been listening for a long time and wish you nothing but success! Remember that there are a lot of us that are rooting for you and are proud of you and hope that your future endeavors bring you success and happiness! Love you J !
Been away from TH-cam for a bit, I'm so gutted for you J, thought you and amber were gonna be together forever, it's great tho to see you smiling and being yourself.. You'll always have support from your fans my friend..just please don't stop making videos fella
People probably wanted you to know who wrote the song since a lot of Elvis's song were written or preformed by lesser known Black artists. Some would say he stole from them, but he was always willing to give them their dues and fought for them to get recognition. There is a great video that was going around youtube a while back about what the Black community really though of Elvis and what the Whites thought of him back then. He was loved by the Black community for all he did for them, and hated by a lot of the older White people.
I know you have reacted to a lot of Elvis, but have you reacted to hardheaded woman? I think you would like it. It’s a great dance song. It’s sort of reminds me of jail House rock
Glad you remembered Elvis!! ❤❤❤
It was Bowie’s birthday, too. Their births were separated by 12 years.
Love Elvis songs! "A Little Less Conversation" is a cool one.
Happy Birthday Mr Presley.
I do love me some Elvis
Jay laughing like I knew he would 😂 BUT I GOT WISE
Greatest singer ever👑💛⭐
Love listening to Elvis.
Happy belated birthday in heaven G.O.A.T. 90Th Rip Elvis, 🌹💐🇵🇷🇺🇲☝👍👊✌👌🕺🎸🎤❤🙏

@@Saranda4787 just a kind of expression meaning that this thing (whatever it is) would even disturb the sleep of the dead.
At least they haven't autotuned Elvis...yet. What would Freddie Mercury think of them autotuning his voice for the just released album box set.

Elvis always the best

Nothing wrong with saying 98 years *old*, especially if you're 98 because that's not young.
Don't be such a downer, @@Saranda4787. When someone says that a person is 98 (or whatever age) years "young," it's implying that they are young at heart... and it's said with love, so please don't be so judgemental.

Thanks, for doing this, for his birthday, Jay!!!
I'm watching an Elvis movie ("Fun In Acapulco") tonight and also this reaction to celebrate Elvis' birthday. 90 trips around the sun.
Every day is good for Elvis
Every time I hear this I have to go watch Lilo and Stitch. Then tease my kids with a perfect Stitch voice singing songs and answering questions.

Glad you're continuing the broadcasts.
The undisputed champion of modern music. The king! EP is the greatest entertainer who ever lived, bar none.
He doesn't even come close to MJ, the true king.
When my 20-somethong kids were toddler-preschool ages, I had the cd of Elvis' hits in our minivan player. They loved this song and sang along! Elvis has the most amazing voice! Love your reaction, Jay!
My Mom saw him live in late 70s , wish i had but i was in middle school 😂 Darn it!! 😂
Also this song and a lot of other hits by elvis are on lilo and stitch which is why I loved it as a kid ❤️
The King is dead…but he's not forgotten.

Elvis would have been 90 today. Also I definitely like that we are back to getting 3 songs a day most of the time. Keep it up!

You like the 80’s, right? This song flys under the radar, but is absolutely amazing, The Police, Driven To Tears.
I love you Brother. If there’s anyone you can take relationship advice from, it’s Elvis! Hang on, and God Bless you!!❤
Only those that we love the most ,can hurt us the worst! Love ya Jordan!

89 years old. Born in 1935.
One of my favorite Elvis songs! It was on the B side of one of my sister’s 45 RPM Elvis records. Can’t remember which one.
I remember his Ed Sullivan appearance in the very beginning, and how everybody in the audience was screaming! That was the beginning of his career
Some of my favorites are America Trilogy, Amazing Grace, In the Ghetto, there are so many Elvis songs to choose in the library. Elvis would be 90 today.

Thanks. I enjoy listening to Elvis. ❤
All his songs are great, but my favorite is "Don't Say No".
