The original phrase was "putting the cart before the horse" but some wag decided it would be funny to say it the other way around, and so in some regions, it is said the way you are used to.
Just watching this video and I thought I heard him wrong, but that is what he said. thank you for providing some additional context.
I assumed it was more putting the horse in place before the cart. Like, you'd have to pull the cart to this horse that could move

Love the series, Echo. Just one suggestion: why not put the hot salt water in the steam chamber? It's hot already and you dont have to de-sal it first.
He'd get some salt too, for sand and culinary purposes.

Really creative way to oxygenate the masks and interior of the rocket! Would never thought of using the loader and unloaders.
Also, I don't think the Frozen Forest Planetoid has any dreckos or oil. It does have a jungle biome but there's not much there other than some chlorine and that's about it.
I recently started going through your older videos to entertain myself and i noticed that you now are much more enthusiastic but also sound like you have much more fun thanks again for all your videos

When choosing which asteroid to go to, you should look at the temperature range for Drekkos. It is quite likely that Fridgeron is too cold and has no Drekkos.
Good morning Echo! Glad to be a part of the colony, and I have to say I'm a pretty good looking dupe (seriously, look at that hair ). I like the solution you came up with for steam and being able to combine it with your food production. Loveing the series and keep up the great work!

Exhuberant mutated sleet wheat with fertiliser and grubgrubs works out to about 12 grains per plant per cycle (realistically more like 10 though).

Instead of dumping the excess steam you could use the sauna. Extra morale building that's rarely used and it's a plastic free way to delete heat (I think?)
Steam Rockets are actually pretty great. In my own ONI Let's Play, I still haven't decommissioned the steam rocket that runs between the home asteroid and the radioactive forest, because it's just so much more economical to run it on steam than to upgrade to a fuel, because those actually take a lot of time to fuel up (petrol rockets require oxidisers, and radbolts are used in a lot of things, my beeta apiary can't keep up).
So the steam fuel chamber never got changed to a cooling loop, because it was handy to stick to having steam fuel on standby.
You don't need shutoff for you steam automation. You can directly automate liquid vent

Hello, first timer here. I think it would be a great idea to have the tiles under the rocket isolated as normal tiles will transfer the heat to your base.

Probably down the line, but without a reactor it's hard to irradiate the crops at a reasonable pace

That was a clever way to make the steam and use it for food. With the reduction in steel needed to make the steam rocket this makes the steam rocket useful instead of just jumping to petroleum.

I've actually heard that (and don't quote me on this), but if you can wild plant Exuberant Sleet Wheat, then they make for a great source of Sleet Wheat as long as you disinfect them. The speed up of the mutation makes up for them being wild.
Actually, I think that's the part I'll be most interested in. Seeing how you get the G-Mod A-OK achievement.
Personally I have found planting near the surface so that space radiation gets to the plants will give you most mutated variants. It takes time as rads are low but while you conquer other planetoids and sort other projects this will with most plants give you a mutation.
you can cut down on amount even further by adding farm stations. get a dupe with 16 agriculture, and you will get a +160% duration per plant, or 2.6 cycles per plant that the micronutrient will be applied.
A good option is doing berry sludges specifically only for pilots.

I love using the gas cargo modules for steam and use it to refuel the rocket on another planetoid. Much easier than making steam production from scratch and makes up for the steam engines short range.

My suggestion for the rocket name is the SS Giga Buffer Tank, (or the GBT for short), because it’s a massive, jury-rigged yet fairly simple, and temporary solution designed in the quest for overly complicated efficiency.

one way is to make the volcano room a vacuum, surrounded by obsidian or ceramic tiles, and the floor made of steel, that channels heat into a steam room.
I tamed my first gold 🌋 just recently. It's not as scary as you might think. You've got this.

I wouldn’t use the shine bug as light for dupes, as it does produce radiation, though it might be negligible as it doesn’t produce too much, but again you are on max difficulty so it could possibly cause problems later on
He was talking about using it as light for the Bristle Blossom in the bathroom.
What if you flipped the bathroom and bedroom? You could remove some ceiling tiles, which would let you lift the outhouse level and double stack beds. They'd only be in the bathroom to 'remove rads' for ~20 seconds and the floor tiles above the beds would still shield them when they sleep.
Once you get to the planet dismantle the rocket solar panel and build a normal one, then hook it up to the rocket battery.
Look at me doing my homework. This is something I would've never considered.

How it is possible that You don't get contaminated water from bathrooms? I always need to build chlorine room with water tank and automation.
Question - how do you deal with meteor showers early on? All asteroids beyond the most basic ones usually have meteors. And unless they were reworked from base game - they are devastating.
Do you have the steel for bunker doors or tiles?

You know, at 21:14, I gotta say, I have a lot against Mars. Not only is it dead, it's also red, and has a no business being so popular. That being said, Mars is the God of war, so maybe I should just shut up...
As for a name, you could call it "Ares' Chariot", that way you keep the name of the god, though from a slightly different religion, and it sounds much cooler. Just imagine saying, "Ares' Chariot pulling in for a landing in (insert planetoid landing pad name here)." It'd be pretty neat I think.

super noob here. i wanna get this game because it looks so fun, but....i feel like i would be too stupid? idk if it's the amount of time you put in the game or simple trial and error but some of the systems you give more details for just blows my mind and makes me think I would end up not enjoying this game.
I optimize too much with this game. Brine has 19% less thermal capacity than polluted water so your aquatuner isn’t going to be quite as efficient.
Also did some quick math and pips are the most efficient way to turn trees to dirt. Pips turn the equivalent of 27kg of lumber to 20 kg of dirt. Ethanol distillery+compost would only give 9kg.
Pip poop dirt is also much cooler so you need less cooling.
The brine was super close and has a slightly lower freezing point. PWater would have done well too.
