    Crazy! I was just trying to find a video of a 775 titan motor in a trx4 2 days ago and found nothing. Please make another :)

    Awesome.
    I posted some pictures on the TRX4 site just two or three months after the D110 was released of my putting a 775-Titan motor in my yellow "Killer Wasp TRX4" because someone said it could've be done. But I didn't drill new holes. All you need to do it drill-out the holes in the motor mount.
    I also put a 775-Titan motor in my comp-SCX10 many years ago...as much as I love the torque of that bigblock my run times went from 3 hours to less than an hour , so I pulled it.
    The 775-Titan is a fun motor but it does need voltage....it's essentially a 18+ volt drill motor. I have the Dewalt/Black and Decker part number.
    Double check but I'm pretty sure it's a 5-armature motor too.
    If you don't mind the drop in battery milage....it's a pretty awesome crawler motor.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tom Lucas I think I remember yours. How did you put it in without new mounting holes? It has a 29mm pattern and the mount is a 25mm pattern. Sean is just going to mud and tear it up so no need for long runtime.

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ExocagedRC I don't remember widening the holes. All that was needed was drilling out the motor mount holes from 3mil to 4 mil.
      I'll double check later.
      Oh...a little trimming of the servo-mount/cross brace help.
      The 775-Titan didn’t stay in there because the 1800kv Revolver I was running makes the same if not more torque with way more run time(earlier this year I put in a 2100kv Puller Pro 4274S...it's amazing , roughly the same size as the 775).
      I'm so glad you put that bigblock in there. It's just really cool to see others do these things. Most hobbiest seem like they are scared to try something different and maybe cut some plastic here and there.
      Boy!...that mud truck just jumps off the line. Nothing like cubic inches. Hahaha

    I have a couple of spare 7xx motors I'd considered for the TRX4, but held off because of the timing advance/rotation problem. The portal axles switch the rotation of the whole transmission so that they went with a "Reverse rotation" 550. This is just a CW motor, with timing advance in the opposite direction. The 775 is conventional, CCW rotation, so if it has any advance (it does) then it will be running horribly inefficiently in reverse. It's particularly annoying, because Traxxas could have avoided this by flipping the diffs around, so the ring gears were on the other side, then all the conventional RC brushed motors would work just fine.

      Hey Juan(if you don't mind me answering that Joe). The 775-Titan has a great start-up for crawling. It's a 5-armature motor(like a giant Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster) Only downside is the run time is significantly reduced.

    😮, It's a fun little motor, I've burnt quite a few doing silly things, that was pretty funny though 😂👌 Although in a truck that light compared to what it normally runs in, gotta say, that was pretty cool.

  • @joshpatzer2
    @joshpatzer2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One question. How do you power both halves of that 775 off of an ESC not made to run dual motors? I had the same motor in my summit (before I went brushless) and it needed the evx (or any dual motor ESC) ESC to get power to both sides of the motor. It will run off just the one side, but your losing out on power and speed I would guess.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      josh patzer dual halves? It’s a simple brushed motor with 2 input tabs. No need for the additional plugs on the motor.

    • @joshpatzer2
      @joshpatzer2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ExocagedRC then why does it have 2 power and 2 ground connections and run off a dual output ESC? Seems to me like you would be only getting half the power (voltage) the motor wanted. I tried to run my 775 Titan off a single ESC and it was not nearly the same power. Like I said, just curious. I run brushless in my summit now and my Emaxx has the evx-2 ESC in it powering 2 21t trx-4 motors (it's my snowplow lol)

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      josh patzer if you look at the wires on the motor they go to the same tab. In the esc the positive and negative most likely are also on the same tab. In the summit, they use the dual wires to try to reduce wire heat from amps. They aren’t needed. If you look in the motor end you’ll see two brushes. So only one wire per brush is needed. His is running on 3S in this video and I’ll be installing a Hobbywing 880 esc so he can run 4S for more power.
