She has a job ... she is taking care of her special needs daughter... she said she is getting $800 a month the judge should let her be if she can take care of her daughter and live off $800 a month that is enough work on it's own.. if she wants more money then she should get a job.. if tax payers don't want to give a single mom $800 to take care of her special needs daughter who do they give the money to??

She doesn’t have a job. The teachers at her daughter’s school is taking care of her daughter. After school, she’s being a parent just like any other parent. The problem is she broke the law and has to pay fines but can’t afford to pay them. The judge is requiring she get the job to complete probation and fees or instead revoke probation and just complete jail time. It’s one or the other. Being a special needs parent doesn’t mean you’re above the law and can’t be punished for felonious behavior.

...she can get a part-time job. The 800 a month is supposed to be supplemental to help take care of her daughter. Imagine how much that child is going without, because she is supporting herself and her mother on supplemental income. Smh

damn right - receipts should be given for EVERYTHING BOUGHT FOR THE CHILD. no receipts or any left over GOES BACK TO THE FATHER. If benefits state £500 a month for a child(In UK) then no matter how much the father earns or has, you only get 250 a month per child, your ass can pay 50% of what the child needs as your its mother, and if you can't - THE FATHER HAS DEFUALT CUSTODY THEN. No more are women using men/children for an easy PAY DAY.

It's no easy feet to get SSI for a child so she must have a serious medical condition ! If she makes too much money then she will lose section 8 and won't be able to afford the bills even with her added income because once she gets a job the amount for SSI will decrease as well there is nothing wrong with using the child's check for their shelter. Or electric ( kid might need it for medical equipment) and her vehicle either she needs to be able to bring her child to and from all her medical appointments and therapy and school the only thing this mom is guilty of is drinking and driving not cool but I'm not sure why this. Judge would rule she isn't allowed to work in the medical field or with children. Wtf. Force her to go back to work and then take away her best options for employment ake it make sense

      @janebrown3587 ปีที่แล้ว +11

@@beckydustin4713 Yes, she is living off her child and Section 8 is taxpayer funded. I agree with you that part of child support is for shelter, utilities, food, clothing and medicare care. PART because she is responsible for half the financial, too. Many people with a child would be happy to have even a one-bedroom or even a studio apartment. Who's taking care of her disabled child if she's out drinking and driving? Cars take money, drinks, too. Mom's hair, makeup, nails shouldn't be paid for out of her child's support, either. I don't necessarily believe it when said she wasn't paying. Car payment, insurance, gas, R&M... shouldn't be paid for out of her child's support money. Her daughter goes to school, mom can get part time or hourly gigs housecleaning. Any "leftover" child support money should be put in a savings account for the child's future. What the judge ruled is very common these days: no working as a caregiver or with children because those clients/patients are vulnerable to the bad judgement or bad character of the convicted.

I worked with a nurse who had a special needs teenager; I only found out about it because she got a call from the caregiver. This woman put herself through school to be able to support her daughter. I respect that. Compared to my mother in law who adopted one of her grandkids with special needs and lives off what the government gives her (SSN, Section 8, Medical, etc), trust me, there is a service she can obtain; she gets it and does not even work a part-time while my niece is in school all day. I heard the same complaint from her that this woman was making: what if my niece gets sick, she is a full-time mom, etc.

The judge said at 13:25 that she can’t be a home health care provider for her daughter or work with minors. I respectfully disagree. She could be trained to do family health care assistance and make $400 a week. She could save her daughter’s money.
Through Medicaid, if you live as a family member advocate and caregiver, you can get paid to take care of your family member. THE FAMILY MEMBER MUST RECEIVE MEDICAID. The following states have paid healthcare advocacy for family:
      New York
      Nevada
      Missouri
      Pennsylvania
      Arizona
      Indiana
      Georgia
      Connecticut
      Colorado
      Oregon
      Massachusetts
Furthermore, if the family member is incapacitated, they can also have an aide for around the clock treatment overnight. Before you throw me under the bus and get the rope ask yourself do you trust a stranger alone with your special needs family member or if you want them institutionalized?
Thank you and I’ll sip on a glass of stfu now.

My ex-wife was like this: she was getting $2300/mo in CS and used it between my daughter (oldest) and her other two (2) younger kids. I got a new judge who immediately gave me custody and made my ex pay $519/mo in CS.
My ex cried and blamed me that her and her other kids were gonna be homeless and how I was a heartless b*stard, "How could you do this to us?!" and that "$519 is too much. I have to younger kids".
The judge told her to suck it up and to also pay me back for the 3 months of private school tuition that my daughter's scholarship didn't cover that I had to pay out of pocket that was included in the CS...also to get a job and to "stop being a bum!"

The issue with that is that narrative is becoming false more and more as time goes on. Women are becoming more of the issue for single parenting. Not just a dad not having good relationships. Courts are favoring women for them to get social checks and keep dad on child support. The other person has that correct. The 1 factor over looked here is that raising a disabled child is not that simple. People being let go from jobs for that is not an oh well next job. Jobs are not that easy to get. Most entitled people these days don't know what job hunting itself is anymore. This judge don't know what she's talking about anymore like there's a job around every corner. But also I see that this mother also seems more then calm even while in court but the biggest issue is dad leaving bc child is disabled and their is no child support.

Put them in foster care? The system is already maxed out in many places. What if the fathers aren't interested or can't take the kids. I don't think the police will have much enthusiasm for going into poorer neighborhoods and dragging women and children out of their homes. I'm also pretty sure they won't go into wealthy areas and drag women out. What if a mother is doing a good job of taking care of her kids. Should the gov. have the right to remove the kids because she doesn't have a job if there is no proof of abuse or mistreatment of any kind? I'm not a fan of government overreach.

I worked while I raised three kids alone with no child support and no welfare... You just make it happen. My last job interview (before I finally had to quit working due to health issues) was actually with the company that came to me because they wanted me to work with them. After years of being afraid of losing jobs due to issues with the kids, I decided to see just how badly this company wanted me 😊.
At the end of the interview I very nicely and politely let the owner know that I would love to work with them but that I was a mom first with three kids in school and I was never again going to be afraid to tell my boss I had a kid emergency and had to leave-how did they feel about single moms?
He literally threw his head back and laughed, told me he was going through a divorce and was going to be a single dad, and that between the two of us we would figure it out. As long as one of us was there to answer the phones it was all good.
I can't tell you how good it felt knowing I finally had a boss that truly understood and truly didn't care. I didn't have to be afraid every time the phone rang and it was one of the kids school. I didn't have to be afraid when I made a doctor's appointment in the middle of the day. I didn't have to be afraid when one kid woke up with 104 fever and the other kid fell out of a tree and broke their arm 3 hours later. I was finally working for an adult that understood kids have to come first. I stayed with them for 7 years and only left when the business closed.

Once she did the aid stopped and by that time we were in middle and high school so we could get food going if she had to work late. After school programs only go to 6pm in my country and there is nothing in the weekends. Much part time work is evening and weekend work. So you get put into a position were either you work and leave your kids at home illegally and risk their safety/custody or you don't work.
You deserve praise for your hard work and sacrifice (and your dedication staying with that company) but at the same time; some people are not in a situation to work. Every situation is unique. However let us agree that the woman in the video is NOT one of them!

When I was again a single mom with 2 under 2 and a baby on the way guess what I was washing dishes at a steak house up until 3 days before I gave birth! 5 days after giving birth and 3 days after getting out of the hospital I was right back washing those dishes!!!! Why? Cause a REAL mom will do anything and everything she needs to so her babies r taken care of!!! Did I intend to be a single mom with 3 babies? Nope but I made the choice to lay down with my ex so I made the choice to do what I had to do! Working 10-12 hrs 6 days a wk made sure I kept my promise to my babies that I would ALWAYS do what I had to do to provide for them!
