    Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
    I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
    I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
    I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

    Uncle Jack seems to be hanging around quite often. You need to rig up a tender trailer with seed and fert so he can chase you around .

    You should have spread that xtra dry fertilizer on your wife's garden area and sweet corn. Have you noticed anything better about those top secret parts from John Deere on the Planter? 👍 Hi to Anna!

    We had one of those bad storms go through. We got a little over an inch. If next week holds true it will be closer to memorial Day before much happens around here.

    Curious why you want to switch the 24 row to beans for your plot & not just plant it with the bean planter

    • @BorderViewFarms
      @BorderViewFarms  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like planting g my bean plot on 30" rows. It's faster and easier to plant and easier to walk the beans in the summer. That said if I'm not going to plant any fields of beans on 30" rows I'll just use the bean planter for the plot.

    • @adamleek1546
      @adamleek1546 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BorderViewFarms Yeah I understand the 30” plot beans but figured it wasn’t worth the switchover for just the plot. Just use the bean planter without the splitter rows?

      @BorderViewFarms better bring a big excavator. Was just curious a lot of the big farmers out here that have wells are happy irrigation made it to them. Lots of there wells dried up. They also are pulling a lot more water at once then that rain machine would I bet. Excited to see it work

  • @caryholt54
    @caryholt54 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    In this case of not taking the time to sort out the script issue, it probably cost you more time in having to get added seed. Also aren't the 6-row plots going to be a big pain to harvest with a 8-row head?

    • @BorderViewFarms
      @BorderViewFarms  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope I can take 6 rows just as easy as 8

    So you don't compare the seeds you sell to anyone else?? Kinda cheating your seed customers aren't you?? Not a comparison at all!! Sounds like a Democrat, my way or just take my word for it!!??

    • @BorderViewFarms
      @BorderViewFarms  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Customers are free to and even encouraged to do their own trials and plots. I find that having competitors is a no win situation for me. If the competitors do poorly everyone says "We'll it's a (____ company) plot, of course their stuff did the best." Or complaints about the test procedures or hybrid placement. Any excuse they can come up with. If a competitor happens to win or place highly, it's "They can't even win their own plot." My plot is a show plot designed to highlight my best products and learn as much as I can about new products.
