- LIEDER: SARA MACLIVER & CECILIA SUN
Thursday 1 June | 7pm | Callaway Auditorium
The Lied-19th-century German song-produced some of the most profound, intimate, and joyous meditations on life’s triumphs and tragedies. In this intimate performance, Irwin Street Collective Artistic Directors, Soprano Sara Macliver and fortepianist Cecilia Sun share some of their favourite songs, including a performance of the complete set of Clara Wieck Schumann’s glorious Op. 13 Lieder.
The instrument used in this performance was made by Rodney Regier in Freeport, Maine, USA, in 2023. It is modeled mainly on pianos made by Conrad Graf from the 1830s and later, and on an early instrument by Ignaz Bösendorfer from c. 1828.
