    Every year would be great! My whole tree is hand made ornaments. 52 years ago, we had no $$ so I made the ornaments and each year I add. I made ornaments for my kids and with my kids. Some of those are 50 years old, too! Such special memories every year!

  • @JudithBrummett

    I used to make new ornaments every year for my tree and used the previous yr as gift toppers for friends and family. One of my friends asked me to instead give her a set of last years ornaments as the gift so she had more than one. After consulting others they also wanted this but didn't want to ask. Lol. So now my old ornaments have homes across the state/country.

    I like that annual thing. I enjoy doing these for the process of making them. So a new set each year would be awesome! I think the November/December time frame is perfect and gets you in the holiday spirit. Having different sets we can always use them in other areas to decorate or switch them out year to year. :)

    My kids and I and now my grandkids and I make ornaments every year. Each year I put up all of the new ones and 1 of each of the past ones. My kids have taken the ones they made and do the same.

    I love the idea of a yearly set of ornaments. I'd like to suggest that you attach them to a pine garland w/white lights. You could put it around the top of the walls, or on a stair rail.

    Erica, here's a suggestion for last year's quilty and stitchy ornaments if you don't want to add another tree: Make a banner and hang them on it. You could crochet some cord, or use ribbon or decorative heavy twine, or even clothesline!

    Love the idea of ornaments each year! How about a heart ornament? Also could you suggest the best way to add personalization either on the front or back? I lost my mom from Covid and inherited her quilting fabric and wanted to make a heart ornament with her fabric for myself and my brother; also would like to take her signature "love momma" and either print it or embroider it? What are your thoughts?

  • @marydenney8249

    Ok….I’m confused in the pattern for the 1st ornament…. It says to make a line corner to corner both directions on “A” (background) then cut into fours. Layer 2 “B” squares on opposite corners of the “A” square…. It doesn’t line up with the diagram.
    What am I missing?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mary, you may have an older copy, I checked both print and PDF versions and they all say Layer 2 A squares on opposite corners of the B square. If you got the PDF you're welcome to log back in and re-download. You can also send me an email and I"ll send over a photo of the pattern. You can also follow the colored diagram to see what I'm talking about :)

    I attempted to make this ornament yesterday from your booklet. It was acomplete fail after FOUR tries. I do not like this technique for making flying geese.its complicated and ALL my points wewr lost in the seams. Onto day 2. Fingers crossed.
