I have a 2013 cb500f. It has a sort of plastic cover that goes over the chain and part of the sprocket. Can I just remove it? After an inspection, it looked like a not essential part and it really ruins the aesthetic of the bike, not to mention it makes access to the chain very difficult.

Nice job, only when you spray the lube I can see the wind blowing it onto de brake disc, once it gets in the brake pads it is difficult to clean
I have a question. How do you clean the rag that you are wiping with? Mine keeps collecting the gunk :D washing doesnt do any good.
This is actually better than Revzilla's method. Nice job!!
Hi there I have a 2015 cb500f, it's quite difficult to remove the front gear cover. I wish it was simpler.
You should show how to remove & putting it back on that chain cover also when you can.

It won't affect the bike in anyway but might be dangerous if you have a pillion. Their foot could touch the chain.
Thanks, great video. What stand are you using ?
+Ray O You're welcome! It's unbranded. Some home made quality stand. :D
good clean, would love to see spark plug changed for this bike.
Do it! Do it!
I do exactly that, only I lubricate up, not down.
Love.

parabéns pelo vídeo, saudações do Brasil
Cardboard would be a good idea even oiling the chain.
Perfect
Gonna recommend gloves. Like rubber gloves to throw away, because this gets nasty.
