I tried to contact Seasonic support, but they told me they don’t have the 16 pin conector for 3090 ti. My 3090 ti have 16 pin on the card, but use 12 pin adapter connector.

They are for overclockers, who will buy two card for sli to get the highest time spy scores. Or for people that have more money than sense, that will then replace them at the end of the year with newer and faster cards. The 3090 ti is not aimed at most people, its a limited supply which is aimed at a small group of buyers. Like selling a 20million pound yacht. Like £29,999.99 PC builds like the 8Pack OrionX2 Dual System Extreme Overclocked PC which have two cpus and three 3090's. Two complete PCs in one system. Who would buy this PC? Someone must or why create such products.

As a recent owner of the Asus RoG Strix 3090 oc used for £585 GBP, I can honestly say the 3090 Ti is a better card but these were my reasons for not wanting it:
    1) 12VHPWR (my 3090 uses 3x 8pin thankfully so won't potentially incinerate me in my sleep)
    2) The 3090 Ti gpu chip is the perfect yield giving the full cores, the higher base and boost speeds (and higher memory speeds), yet only does this while using even higher than crazy amounts of power
    3) While the AIO liquid cooler does look very nice and is objectively better at handling the cooling of the 3090 Ti, the triple fan of the 3090 just handles itself fine keeping the 3090 nice and cool
    4) Not being able to get a 3090 Ti RoG Strix in triple fan version like the 3090 actually ruled out the RoG Strix 3090 Ti for me - I really don't want to be forced to use liquid cooling for a GPU, it should have been a choice with 2 variants of the RoG Strix 3090 Ti
    5) This is the deal breaker for me... The 3090 and 3090 Ti are so close to being the same card specs wise, that effectively, they are the same card. Same VRAM amount, same performance (if you further oc the 3090), the only not the same is the cost - and for that reason the 3090 is for sure the better value to buy... even more-so now that prices have seriously come down and used prices are honestly very compelling.
Newer gen is more performance, higher price, higher power draw, and honestly, when you do the math, all these variables are all relative and show the steady linear trend in GPU progress over Turing, Ampere and Ada.
With GPU generations being every 2 years or more nowadays, it just makes sense as a buyer to grab whichever generation fits not only your budget, but also your minimum FPS and VRAM requirements (even if that means going back to Ampere or Turing for budget reasons)
Despite the insanity of new, high end GPU pricing these days, it is actually never a better time to be a gamer as generations are current for longer (due to GPU progress slowing down and node limits) and the used market really is working in budget conscious peoples favour nowadays and has been since Ampere launched.
Its clear to see that just like the state of CPUs, GPUs have hit a wall - and only can push further by using insane amounts of power (500w is the limit of most sane customers) therefore if that's all GPUs can do to give more perfomance, then customers will be the ones to set the acceptable limit on accepted GPU progress and customers will dictate through purchase choices, where the limit is based on ruling out higher power GPUs regardless of how fast they perform.
GPU progress is reaching its limit due to insane power requirements - this will slow down the rate at which GPUs become old and obsolete... now is the perfect time to be a budget conscious gamer and be able to come out satisfied with non-current GPU purchases.
    Game on everyone, game on!

I have the 3080 Ti version and overall I'm satisfied. The card looks great (especially if you install it vertically), performs great and thanks to the overkill cooling the GPU temp rarely exceeds 60°C, or 57°C with "P mode" even when it's overclocked and consumes 440W. The only thing I wasn't happy about it was how loud the stock fans were even with "Q mode", so I replaced them with a pair of Noctua fans and the noise was reduced significantly. If I were to get a 3090 Ti, this is the only model I would consider. The other air-cooled models are way too thick (quad slots) and I don't like that.

  • @RADukura

I am not bragging or anything, but 50c per KWH sounds crazy. Is that on-peak pricing? In the mid west it costs about 11c per KWH, and I still thought the GPU is a power hog. I can't imagine paying nearly 5 times for electricity and using this GPU.

Another great review, thanks Nada 🤩😇👍 Asus making another sweet looking gpu 🥰🤩🥳. tbh, even thou it’s an OTT GPU, in terms of …… everything 😋 I think for those who’ve been patient and waited out the GPU pricing debacle, and got a bit of money to now spend, rather than getting a RTX3080/RX6800XT … GPU, these people have an option to buy the “crème de la crème” GPU of this generation getting an additional 25-30% performance, and they won’t be disappointed! While the RTX4000 series is rumoured to launch 🚀 in October 2022 (this year) ….. and be more powerful, it’s also going to be even more power hungry so for those on a 3-5year gpu upgrade cycle, this could be a ….. umm…. good choice.

If going for gaming is one's goal, then 3080ti would be negligibly close at more than half the price once the GPU prices drop to MSRPs and lower ;) On the other hand, for those wanting best of the best for work, guess the A6000 or A100 even would be even better with their larger VRAM capacities... So it's like a last chance to sell a few binned chips/cards before the next gen hits the shelves...

Def not good value, but I am blown away by the overclocking potential on my 3090ti FTW3 Ultra. On a "locked" bios, I was able to get about 13 percent more performance in cyberpunk 2077 with a manual oc compared to my Strix 3090 on a manual oc. Temps were in the low to mid 60s and the card was inaudible. If I had an unlocked bios, things would def get interesting.

I don't think they can really lower the fan speed much anymore. For sure the GPU has a lot of thermal headroom but those asetek all in one coolers has a max water temperature of about 60C which the water temperature is probably not that far off the GPU temp when the die is so big and it dumps so much heat. So I wouldn't lower the fan speed and have the GPU run at over 60C.

@@buckiesmalls Bill jumped from $65 in December to $107 in January. I only had it since December of 2021. There has been an overall spike in electricity cost in my area so it's tough to tell if that jump was only from using my rig with 3080. I game maybe 2 hours a day max with some days not gaming at all so it's not like I have it running full tilt a ton of hours a day. I undervolted it which allows it to run 50W lower for roughly the same performance so we'll see how much that helps over time.

For all of you going through the comments let me start by saying I am one of those guys who does crazy builds and loves to have the best hardware. With that said, this card is amazing but the value is not there. I bought an Asus tuf rtx 3090 ti and will be returning it. Why? Isn’t that the best card? Yes, in a lot of ways it’s the best BUT the issue is nvidia itself. The last year I’ve had a hard time using nvidia gpus for single pc streaming due to driver issues with certain software. The tables have truly turned and the 6900 xt is just a better card imo. I spent $2300 on this card and don’t appreciate the fact that the drivers out of all things would be a deal breaker over the price. Needless to say….. I’ve owned almost every single high end card for the past couple years and I’m going back to AMD. All I do is install the drivers (no software) and it just works so well. Nvidia has features but they cause to many issues in windows therefore making it irrelevant to a single pc steamer. I could get a streaming pc but why do that when I can get an amd card for $1400 and performance is 5x better while streaming. Just my two cents for anyone wondering how good is this card actually.

£1,999 here for the Asus TUF model. I like to spend money on a PC. But £1,999 for a GPUONLY. Id just buy a full PC with a decent GPU instead. Still they are a nice hardware to have. Just not the price. Maybe if I had disposable money.

You really just want a hole in the wall at your computer station and the computer is actually in the next room with all the cables going through the hole. Advantages are obvious
    1. The computer won't heat up the room you're in (big in summer)
    2. You're not heating up the room the computer is in with your own body heat.
    3. Noise is completely gone.

@@jasonzhang7725 eh you have lots of holes in your walls? what are you on about...
Maybe you should learn to place quality of life higher than imagined "value" of things you don't want to sell anyways.

A 3090 (non Ti) Hybrid is the sweet spot if you can get the dB's below or at 35 (not using OC profile). Yeh this card is kinda ridiculous. Also they don't supply a nvlink at three slots. The smart thing is to put two 3090's three slots apart as hybrids and use nvlink to get 48Gb (future proof) but does Asus or anyone supply that config .. NO! Big Marketing fail and forces you to buy the 4090ti (Titan)

Nice aesthetics, if she performs well I may buy one for myself... talking about the card aye guys but then who wouldn't want to hire Nada to build them a super system!
The thing I like about her reviews is that she is straight up honest in also exposing the bad aspects about the hardware she reviews unlike other tech channels who seem to kiss up to the brand manufacturers.

I think they don't care about noise level because they assume any gamer using this where the noise level would be the loudest, they will have headphones on and won't hear it any ways.

I water cooled my 3090 so temps and performance is great for me... so for me the 3090Ti isn't going to be that much better. Hell even a 3080Ti or just a 3080 you SHOULD see about the same performance.... maybe I don't own a 3080 🤔🤷.

I'm sorry but, just because something is overpriced and not of value for 99% of people doesn't mean it's not a bargain for the 1%. If you need a video card with that kind of memory buffer for the professional work you do, it's well worth $2k

The problem is nVidia only gives a few more CUDA cores on 3090Ti which is only OC way to give you extra 5~10% faster. nVidia need to give 3090Ti about 12,500 CUDA cores to make this card really better value. or $1999 is a scam price. Not even worth extra $500 than 3090.

Power is becoming more expensive each day due to growing demand. I don't think I'm willing to game on such a power hungry card. I would be constantly worried about my monthly power bill 😅...too worried to enjoy gaming. Of course if power's cheap in your country then you can go for it!

  • @SmoothTiger

To be fair, I don't think this a good review discription? Bad Value is a bit weird right? This is supposed to be the best of the best, not really a value oriented product in my opinion. I read comments about being able to buy a car at this price, but that is completely besides the point. There are also Scooters that have the price of certain cars, but what other card can match this performance at that price? That should have been mentioned.
Like there was no comparison with other cards at all, what is going on here? Why mention price and performance but not how it compares to other cards?

BAD TIMING. Here's a mind-blowing idea .. take another day or two and run some more benchmarks yourself. I mean otherwise, I may as well look at ASUS's website and read off their data sheet.
I remember a review of my AMG and the only complaint that Reviewers had was that it got bad gas mileage. Yes, my first priority is to think of it as a Prius.
My only issue with this lead balloon is its timing. The 40 series is due Q3-Q4 this year, I already have an RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra .. 0% I or someone who has sufficient funds is going to buy this. Don't get me wrong, people are going to try to break world records with it. No doubt a handful that for whatever crazy reason couldn't get their hands on the 3090 as well.
