Exactly. The only two things that really matter is noise and temps. I have heard that for every 10 degrees hotter a chip runs, it reduces the life by half. Thus, the memory chips in an Aero will be about 6-8x longer than the memory chips in the Asus Dual fan model. If you change boards every year to the latest and greatest, that doesn't matter, but if you normally run the same video card for 5+ years (or if you buy used cards), it may be of greater significance.

I want to enjoy it too, but giving the fact that I've payed 250 euros in 2019 for a Asus 1660 Super, this new generation pricing is giving me headaches
I got a Zotac Twin Edge 4070 Super for £50 off it's normal price of £589 in the UK in a flash sale, so cheaper than the non-Super MSRP! It's more compact than any of these other cards, good for a SFF mini-ITX build, but I really don't like Zotac's current designs - I much prefer Nvidia's FE aesthetic and all-metal build. Still, it runs quiet and fairly cool for its size. The best thing is you get 5 years of warranty - 3 years as standard with 2 extra years if you register within 28 days of purchase.

Got the 4070 super asus white OC none evo edition. Don't get the evo guys! It has worse fans and fins. Performance on none evo is just better. The cooling on my card is so so good and performance is insane overall. was surprised the white one feels all metal besides the little front piece. Like the one in the video only half of the space is covered by a heating and fins. Mine covers the entire open and gap. Better cooling all the way. Hers is an evo. It doesn't cost 10 to 20 dollars more then the evo but it's so worth it and getting a white one gauruntees you to a none evo version. Asus doing there sneaky stuff trying to get rid of leftover 3000 seriees components. Also the fans on the evo is 90mm while the ones on the none evo are 100mm.
I love how people label these cards "mid range". They have never been mid range and never will be. The fact that we now have more variety of top-end GPU's is great but the 4070 is by no means midrange since they run everything at 1440p 120+ fps smoothly.
@@ChloeTaylor-dp5oh But they didn't, in all actuality the GPU performance has increased drastically over what we actually need for 60 fps gaming at 1080p and 1440p. 4K is still just a dream unless you are willing to spend 4-5k on your PC, but other than that - you don't need anything more than a 4070. I bought a PNY dual fan. The reason is that it was by far the cheapest. PNY's graphics card is small and thin with two fans, so I knew it would get very hot. Even if I limit the power to 70% using GE, it still exceeds 70 degrees Celsius. However, since the warranty period is three years, I can use it without fear of failure.
@@ceaseyourheresy88 It is currently set to 0.975V. That would get it to 72 degrees, but I'm generally happy with the way it is now. At first I was annoyed with PNY for making the cheap 4070S, but now I've accepted it all and feel that it was a good experience. Unlike Radeon, Geforce is considered to be of high quality even in its reference models, so I would like them to improve the overall cooling performance to the point where FE becomes the lowest quality. 4070 SUPER varies too much.

I played Cyberpunk 2077 for a bit at maximum settings (without Path Tracing) in 3k (DLDSR (I have a Full HD monitor)) with DLSS on quality. There was no departure, it usually flew out immediately when the voltage was too low. Without undervolt, the frequency is 2745 MHz. I think it's very good to lower the frequency by 100 at 0.935 mV. I also increased the memory clock by 400 (probably more can be done, we need to test). The temperature without undervolt was 69 degrees at a fan speed of 65%. After the undervolt, the temperature did not rise above 61 degrees. Probably, I will make the voltage at 0.900-0.915 mV, I want to reduce the temperature so that I can reduce the fan speed. It's too noisy. And so, this is also an experience for me. A cheap graphics card is hot and noisy.
From what i know in my country Nvidia AIB like Inno3D,Zotac their cards under MSRP because they only offer shorter warranty not like Palit,MSI,Asus, Gigabyte and Galax/KFA2. I don't know with Inno3D EU if they offer shorter warranty or not. The white version of Gigabyte looks great.
Recently got myself 4070 super Gigabyte Gaming OC and I must say that it's very silent while also very cool. In full load doesn't go above 60C and idle stays at 32C
@thedawn-rt9rx That is very weird and I don't know if that's only something the ti GPUs have. For my GPU I set the fans to stop when it's below 34C and it works

Seriously, it's so difficult to find a good review even for a specific model, and you did great with a ton of them! Any chance we can get an MSI 4070 Super Gaming X Slim review? Thanks for this video, my Gigabyte Windforce RTX 2080 Super recently died on me and RTX 4070 Super seems like the good successor. The prices here vary from 585 EUR for Palit to 810 EUR for ASUS ROG Strix, so this video has been very helpful to make me realize that even the MSRP cards look pretty decent.
Sorry to hear your GPU died :-/ Do keep in mind 50-series should launch in a couple of weeks as well. But if you're in a hurry, cheaper MSRP models are definitely the way to go atm imho.
@@TechTesters Thanks for the reminder! Those aren't bad temps for the junction and hotspot temps. The Gigabyte eagle OC and msi ventus 2x seem to be warmer on the hot spot at 85c+ and are louder so i'm looking to avoid those models.
Would it be possible to include what MSI Afterburner can raise power levels to? I.E. on my 3070 I can extend power to 109%. I’m not asking what performance result happens, but I am curious what OC is possible between the cards and helps with decision making for me and I’m sure others as well. Great work and thank you!
Just the video i was looking for. Im building my first PC in white and I want to pick AERO for its white color. But one thing makes me worry, the RGB lighting, it's blue and if I want to change color of my fans for example for orange I worry this blue logo can mess the clarity. Can any owner of this card can tell me is it possible to change the color of AERO logo lighting ? and if not, does it ruin the visual for other colors themes inside the case beside blue and white obviously ?
I always went with ASUS for GPUs, gigabyte having more years of warranty doesn't offset their much lower quality use of components. My ASUS Phoenix 1060 has been running since 2016, baked in dust, never cleaned, never re-paste, everything still working perfectly today, fans are good, temps are good.
I like the new 12VHPWR connection on some ( this one included ) PSU's- I bought the Thermaltake 750 watt tough power true 300 12VHPWR last August ( there wasn't a lot of options then for this connection then ) to power my 4070 Ti Seasonic is a very good brand
Because i believe you can alter your fans individually in a different program without bios, or do you need bios mode in order to alter it?, otherwise that would be a rip-off
Great video :) thank you for the comparison .. but you are missing gaming x slim from MSI :( .. I am deciding between the aero and gaming x slim .. which one would you get ? I wonder which one would be quieter and cooler.
msi > gigabyte for GPUs imo. msi uses double ball bearings in all of their models and gigabyte uses sleeve-bearing for anything other than auros in this price range. no excuse to put cheap fans on a $650 card is how i see it.
Fantastic video, would love to see more, maybe even for rtx 4060? Anyway, keep up the good work and thank you for valuable lessons and making gpu choices easier.
There is little reason most of these should be fatter than dual slot save to plump up AIB partner profits and stroke buyers' egos. We're being conditioned to see bigger as better; however, Ada cards from this level downward just don't really justify being matched with big heatsinks. First, the review notes "none of them are super loud", and indeed some of the quietest are the smallest in volume. There also isn't any massive separation in performance between anything in this roundup; Nvidia demands tight controls on what AIB partners can bring to market (except size, where apparently 80-class coolers can be reused for even 60-class models now). And Ada efficiencies over Ampere also allow us to look for cooler designs on a diet. There is some width and length to play with to offer in lieu of the now almost-default triple-or-quad-slot heatsink design, too. What do we get back -- besides the insanity? Well, hopefully some sticker price. But for sure we get at least one PCIe slot back with most motherboards (interestingly, only Gigabyte ATX boards have layouts that make room for triple-slot GPUs without blockages on dual x16 secondaries). And to be clear, I haven't said to spike all the big boy coolers. They just need to be reduced in number.
Aero and gaming seem to be almost the same. I'm also trying to clarify tho as I cant figure out why the aero is the most expensive as it has the same clocks as gaming oc. Same size cooler. You'd think there would be way more comparisons out. More detailed too. Did you end up buying any of them? What do you think? I had asus dual but it wasn't good. Looking for an alternative.

Streamer, I noticed. PNY uses exactly the same heat sink and heat pipes in the 4060Ti DUAL, 4070 DUAL, and 4070SUPER DUAL. The three pipes are simply lined up in a straight line without any ingenuity in the small, thin structure. It's no wonder that the 4060Ti reaches 70°C and the 4070S reaches 80°C. You're smart enough to understand what PNY is doing in the mid-range. Sharing this information will help prevent the next victim. Just bought the same few days ago for 500 £ on flash sale. Coming off the 2070 super and the fans were going crazy with the latest AAA tiles. Now, I'm finally in silence again. Can't wait to try the new COD
I have the same one. I had to use an undervolt because the graphics card is hot. Oh yes, and also noisy.
Are standards not allowed to increase? lol
The jump from 1440p to 4k is too big however.
@@ChristianRusso-l3x
Huh? So EVERYONE's standards still stuck in 1080p 30fps? I ask if standards increased, meaning people want higher performance and better visual quality because the bar has been raised year over year.
Who are you to say what SOMEONE ELSE does and doesn't need lol.
It varies user to user.
Some people want high refresh rate because they don't want to play a choppy input laggy mess. Some actually care about RT and Visuals. Some don't.
Such a dumb blanket statement to say "you don't need anything more than a 4070".
Have you literally played any game after 2020? Are you one of these people that cant feel a difference between 100 and 200 fps, let alone 60 to 120fps?
1080/1440p monitors have 165hz-240hz models everywhere.
Just keep that 1080 a little longer bro, jesus LOL. I swear ever since the 30 series you weirdos are everywhere and only exist in reddit threads and youtube comments. Can't wait to shit on people who care about getting the most fps at a reasonable visual quality in 2024.

For anyone looking for the ArtPro. I got the 4070s OC ArtPro, temp around 66-68 on GPU 100% (Alan Wake 2) and deadly silent (case on the floor). I couldn't fit the TUF in my case and I'm now glad I couldn't as the ArtPro is as good as.

The comparisons says that the windforce is louder but cooler than the fe. What's about coil whine? And which of these would you pick considering the price point? Thanks and keep going.

Great! I, just bought the same GPU 2 days ago. Was it the OC version or the non OC version? This video is one of the very few really good reviews of it. But it's still working fine right? I haven't picked up the package yet, I saw today that the windforce model are on sale now for the same price so I've been wondering if I should replace it with the Gigabyte model. Is it possible to undervolt the card aswell or does it have a lock?
Thank you for the information
I have the 4070 super aero and even the silent bios setting is awfully loud
Get the Asus dual or Tuf they are way More silent
That's my experience with previous Gigabyte cards, they have some annoyingly loud fans.
Cant you set a nice fan curve through msi afterburner?
@@cyberpunk59 Nobody is buying a card just to set a fan curve in afterburner
And btw the lowest rpm on the aero 4070 super ist 30% 1000rpm and it's still loud AF and u fortunately u can't set the fans under 1000rpm Wich is straight up dump
@@JJ-gk5tn I already heard this kind of speech before "ah nobody buys a 7950x3d to tinker with it, everyone buys a cpu for it to work the best directly"
If you don't tinker with your gpu at that basic level, an aero isn't made for you.
As for the minimum speed being 30% and still too noisy. I think your card has an issue. Because if in this test, they could reach as low as 32db just with setting the silent bios, which is very close to base ambient noise for a normal room, I have a hard time imagining it being as noisy as you describe it.

That exact comparison of gaming power is amazing and exactly what I needed. Thank you so much for the non-bias and for the straight-to-the-point examination! Brilliant!
Thank you for giving me more insight on the 4070 Super GPUs! Currently I'm slowly building my first desktop PC in this horrible economy and have been torn between which card I should purchase. Thank you, this is exactly the video I was looking for. You were very helpful.
Hello Techtesters! I wonder if you used the OC or non OC version of the Inno3D GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Twin X2 in the video
Please add zotac's and msi's 4070 super in this comparison video or in future video cause those are also available in my area and I would like to know about those as well. Appreciate your videos.
Thanks! Usually I have more MSI cards but supply has been poor with this chip. No Zotac plans unfortunately. They’re harder to get here and Zotac hasn’t been interested in sending out any for comparisons.

Kia Ora & Good Morning from North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand ...great video... .
Came to look for this because the MSI one has two fans and is smaller, wondered what impact that might have on temp/performance etc
Are the 30 series end of life now? in my region (Oceania), I can't get 3070 and above without paying $1100-2000. Meanwhile, a Gigabyte Windforce 4070 super is $900. What's the go with that?
I bought a PNY dual fan. The reason is that it was by far the cheapest. PNY's graphics card is small and thin with two fans, so I knew it would get very hot. Even if I limit the power to 70% using GE, it still exceeds 70 degrees Celsius. However, since the warranty period is three years, I can use it without fear of failure.
Try undervolting
@@ceaseyourheresy88 It is currently set to 0.975V. That would get it to 72 degrees, but I'm generally happy with the way it is now. At first I was annoyed with PNY for making the cheap 4070S, but now I've accepted it all and feel that it was a good experience. Unlike Radeon, Geforce is considered to be of high quality even in its reference models, so I would like them to improve the overall cooling performance to the point where FE becomes the lowest quality. 4070 SUPER varies too much.
@@銀河光芒 I have a Zotac Rtx 4070 Twin Edge Super. I recently made 0.935 mV at a frequency of 2640 MHz.
7:00 you want to look at 1% lows for this
From what i know in my country Nvidia AIB like Inno3D,Zotac their cards under MSRP because they only offer shorter warranty not like Palit,MSI,Asus, Gigabyte and Galax/KFA2. I don't know with Inno3D EU if they offer shorter warranty or not. The white version of Gigabyte looks great.
INNO3D has a 3 years warranty in Europe
I got a Zotac card in the UK, which has a 5 year warranty if you register.
Recently got myself 4070 super Gigabyte Gaming OC and I must say that it's very silent while also very cool. In full load doesn't go above 60C and idle stays at 32C
Wow! That's kinda amazing for full load. You must live in a very chilly chill place, though.
@stonevicta In Eastern Europe, it's just normal weather 😅 Usually 22C in my house
@thedawn-rt9rx That is very weird and I don't know if that's only something the ti GPUs have. For my GPU I set the fans to stop when it's below 34C and it works
I got the Asus Dual in white - freaking kicks butt for the $$. Love it!
Nice, hope you're enjoying it :)
Thanks for all the info! I especially appreciate the thorough inspection about noise and thermals! Seriously, it's so difficult to find a good review even for a specific model, and you did great with a ton of them!
Any chance we can get an MSI 4070 Super Gaming X Slim review? I've been thinking on pulling the trigger for that one but haven't found a good enough review
I doubt the MSI Slim will perform poorly tbh, but I haven’t seen it myself
oh my god I just stumbled upon your channel, I'm in love! 😍
Sorry to hear your GPU died :-/
Do keep in mind 50-series should launch in a couple of weeks as well. But if you're in a hurry, cheaper MSRP models are definitely the way to go atm imho.
@@TechTesters Thanks for the reminder! I'm considering it, but it will probably take a while for the non-flagship models to launch (after 5090s and 5080s) and more time still for them to get into the Central European market. Still may choose the wait-and-see approach, but my backup GTX 1060 is well past its prime :)
Atleast you guys include hotspot temps (would be nice with mem too) unlike most other major reviewers on youtube and even the web. Think only Techpowerup offers hotspots aswell. The rest are hugging the companies real hard making sure not to step on their toes with their 90c+ hotspots instead just showing their cute 60c core temps.
Mem temps are in there too :)

I have a gigabyte z370 MB since 2018. I currently have a Zotac 1070 Ti. Can I install a 4070 on my board? and you think it will work in 2024? I will be updating for an all new computer set up soon. Big thanks mate.
I like the new 12VHPWR connection on some ( this one included ) PSU's-
I bought the Thermaltake 750 watt tough power true 300 12VHPWR last August ( there wasn't a lot of options then for this connection then ) to power my 4070 Ti
Seasonic is a very good brand
This video helped me make a very informed decision, thank you. I went with the FE model.
I love my new ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER. Quiet and powerfull.
I have to ask you, is silent mode strictly about the fan curve?

HI NICE REVIEW AND PLS SAY Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 4070 Super Master is best than this cards or which beats this card out of ur list
They just need to be reduced in number.
can you tell me the performance difference between aero oc , gaming oc and windforce oc. i am confused which one should i pick.
Aero and gaming seem to be almost the same. I'm also trying to clarify tho as I cant figure out why the aero is the most expensive as it has the same clocks as gaming oc. Same size cooler.
Although I am Japanese, I am not a typical short-sighted and emotional xxllow xxnkey, so I understand that PNY makes excellent models of other video cards. Green is known to have a larger difference in product quality than red, and among them, PNY is particularly blatant.
