I have a basic, high school level understanding of science, and even I could tell the moment he started talking about positive/negative ions that it was a scam.
This is a very common scam using very common scamming techniques. We saw this exact type of thing with the special "balance bracelets" that were in circulation back in the 2010s. Same outcome but a different explanation to how the "science" of it works. The trick is in the experiment used to sell the product. Your natural balance is tested, and then you wear the item and lo and behold your balance improved! And your balance actually did improve, but thats because on the second pass you knew how much pressure to expect and therefore adapted naturally. Do this with a friend or family member, but use like a hair tie or a special sock or something, itll work the same. Conversely, you can do the experiment backwards. Make them wear the item first and test their balance, then take the item off and test it. Their balance will improve with the item removed.
Mark: It's a scam.

That eye dart at 2:14. It’s so fascinating seeing the exact moment someone realizes their whole world is about to come crashing down.
Mark is always the smartest one in the room
0:35 ions = molecules lol. Bro failed 7th standard chemistry
Why is no one talking about the among us thumbnail
Kevin: if you admit it's a scam I'm in
Guy: it's definitely a scam
Kevin: I'm out!
Guy: it also helps grow hair.
Kevin: I'm in!
Daymond: $200,000 for 120% of your company
I love imagining this man hard at work on his personlized watches for the Sharks, unable to comprehend what he was about to walk into, the unrelenting horrors that awaited him.
The show is called Shark Tank. If you're not smart enough to know what to expect going in your business is going to fail anyway.
Man might as well have walked in selling Holy Water@@poppinlochnesshopster3249
I find it wild that these scams are not illegal.
I like your face
They’re illegal.
theres merit behind it though. 5g is extremely toxic to humans, and the right thing can help protect us from that
Lmao@@sma1616
@@sma1616get help please. You probably also believe in other baseless conspiracy theories
I love they did a slow zoom out of the watches as he said ‘fashionable designs’ 😂
The zooming by the camera guys is what makes everything better😂😂
I love this pitch so much. No mercy from Mark at all
Not a minute in 0:59 and I already can tell this is a scam
I even did the rock's eye brow 🤨
I love it when Mark Cuban is feisty ! He’s the most relatable owner in sports and my personal opinion. I’m not a Dallas Mavericks fan, but I love this guy.
He’s one of the few billionaires that is actually a good person, he does a lot of good with the money that he has
I absolutely love the negetive ion thing. The idea is that negetive ions are in places like the mountains and the ocean. So they put like crushed sand in the molds? Lol
It's usually thorium dioxide, not sand. It does actually generate negative ions because its radioactive
Do you guys never heard of N type silicon? Doping ? Come on guys, it's high school physics
@@toby1248
Lol. Just googled Thorium Dioxide. Every single post says it’s a radioactive substance that should definitely not be worn, even if its just a few particles. Lol.
@@subhuman3408
So i just tried googling that. By all accounts n type silicon is not used in bracelets. And also that N type silicon is used in electronics. It’s a conductor and doesn’t “actively emit” negative ions. Like you cant just mix that in with regular silicone or rubber and say “it’s emitting negative ions” lol.
Now if they figured out a way for a power source, like the watch’s battery, to send energy to the n type silicon to whatever is in contact, that is a
3:53 in his defense, I looked up Rumba time and they have no designs even similar to the bottom 2 the man is claiming to have designed.
A millionaire who runs businesses is not going to remember the design of a silicone watch one of his companies is making.
Why are his eyes so close to each other? 1:11
Mark is about supporting good business practices - especially as it relates to health. Market is already filled with overwhelming products that claim to be doing all sorts of bs. This negative ion is one of them, along with those blue light glasses.
Kevin on the other hand is about making money - does not matter what the product says or does.
Blue light glasses aren’t a scam people just think they are something they arent
@@marcuscarpenter7230they have NO scientific proof that they do. Any research show that they have no effect. Not on eye strain, sleep quality or any other health concern.
@@marcuscarpenter7230The blue light only causes issues with going to bed, there’s no real issues other then that. There are some true blue light glasses out there that truly block the blue light, but they definitely aren’t anything like the ones people try to sell and call 100% blue light blocker. Those maybe block 10-15%.
@@marcuscarpenter7230 They think there are something they arent because they are told its something they arent. "Blue light is bad." (It isnt unless you are a rat that is in the lab and have lasers directed into your retina for an extended period.)
So true. I'm guessing that's why he promoted crypto scams?
I remember when everyone was buying the power band bracelets and were telling people it worked. One of the biggest placebo items of all time
When mark heard "negative ion technology" you could see it in his face, he was like a shark that smelt blood lmao.
I love that Lori played along for a minute and just let this guy set destruct. Amazing.
I searched Rumba watch. And they do look like these ones.
It's Dallas Mavericks Blue, just for you 😢
Yea I felt that too lol
2:01 Mark saw right through him.
The thumbnail instantly reminded me of Among Us. The brainrot from social media has gone way too far for me and I’m not even kidding. I’m about to delete all of these apps and start reading or I’m so screwed. This was a wake up call for me
Kevin might be one of my favorite humans alive lol. He's too funny.
i thought the thumbnail was amongus
“I think it’s a joke, it’s a scam, and I’m still out” 😂💯
Positive ion molecules lol. Infuse the silicon with negative ions that would make the silicon brittle. Let say we do indeed have lots of positive ions from devices, we already have loads of negative ions in our body like electrolytes . How would the positive ions even flows out the skin when there’s membranes and channels that prevents it, if its inside in a cell or in the blood etc. too many layers for the ion to bypass to go outside the watch. Placebo is not bad thing so if you tricks your brain it might work.
yup, i was thinking the same, the placebo effect might actually be helpful for you, as crazy as it sounds, it has worked before for numerous 'medicines' 'rituals' 'totems', etc.
It can still pull ions from your body hair and skin surface. That said it's still ineffective in solving your psychological problem
Everyone's mentioning the Power Balance bracelets, but I swear I've seen those exact silicone pill-shaped watches for years in crane machines and dollar stores.
I was just thinking that im pretty sure u bought one in the same test tube container from a dollar store or flea market
I love how just went with it and played devils advocate for him, then made an excuse for why she’s out
Mark made me laugh when he'd said i am allergic to scams 😂
any charge imbalance you would get from actual ions would be quickly balanced by being electrically grounded, also everything that comes from electronics is not much different than what comes from space all the time
Ions are also really important for balancing Ph in the water in our body. Without Ions we would just die.
No, I'm allergic to scams 😂😂 I love Mark Cuban
Mark is allergic to scams unless it’s the crypto scam he’s a part of 😂
The funny thing is, a similar concept became insanely successful which is Energy bracelet, and there was a time where tons of athletes wear those, especially in baseball. But then again sport is one of the place where placebo effect work out the most. If it boost your confidence you are likely to perform better
3:48 "My own original design." Kevin is sitting there thinking, "oh you designed the Cartier Tank and the Patek Nautilus? You look so young though!" haha
Lol what
My chemistry background makes this even better 😂😂😂

Mark wasn't about to entertain his BS 😂 props
Hey those kinda look like among us
Mark Cuban shows some integrity here.
Update : This guy had sales of 70 million dollars over the next 5 years. Mark Cuban personally flew to his house to ask him to give him another chance to invest. When Mark ringed the doorbell, it was answered by Kevin.

Man out here peddling snake oil like it's 1842
What is the company Daymond mentioned he invested in? At 3:56;I tried googling but I just kept getting the roomba vacuum. 💀
Rumba Time is the company name
This is just the Power Balance bands from several years ago turned into watches lol
I used to have that watch when I was younger. It was orange. It was just a watch, but it looked exactly like it
This shows Kevin will invest in scams as long as he can make money from it. It's why he invested in FTX.
As a pharmacist, I know that being depleted from electrolytes (eg severe hydration) can cause adverse effects, and would need to be replenished with something like Pedialyte or even Gatorade. But I’ve never heard of any medical condition solely based or treated by the charge of the ions around your body.
Yes and I'm an astronaut. And I know that space is really cold and that keeping the body warm is needed. But I've never heard of these ions causing problems around your body.
Oh, that's why they're called sharks. That guy got shredded.
So glad they reuploaded this, more people need to know about that BS balance test.
Mark: It's a scam
Mr wonderful: ok but are people buying?
😂😂😂😂😂
Mr. Wonderfull's new business venture is on cameo for $1200 a video so those people can get his endorsement that way to make money from other investors so it's not surprising.
Kudos to Mark for not having any of this BS from the start.
I love how Lori points out the scam just by politely asking the most obvious questions

He did say they had them in sports, and it was proven not to work he knew it was a scam from the start
The small Esso watch is like something i saw at dollar tree like 14 years ago.
Best case scenario these do nothing. Worst case, they're radioactive, as that's the only way something emits "negative ions" without a battery constantly being recharged.
It it were radioactive the only ions it could emit would be positive. Alpha particles are He 2+ ions, Helium nuclei.
This is flat out wrong. Negative ions can also jump if you keep a positive charge near. Unlike charges attracts.
You probably didn't passed middle school
No one seems to address this, but Daymond's claim about stealing Rumba's designs is not true. The guy explains that the first design, the one he handed out, was in fact not his own design and that the other two are. Rumba only sells a model that looks like the first design, they don't make or sell the other two. The guy wasn't lying, Daymond was. Classic.
I have a basic, high school level understanding of science, and even I could tell the moment he started talking about positive/negative ions that it was a scam.
The explanation I just heard was absolutely hilarious 😂😂
The thumbnail… it… sus….

AMONGUS WATCH
