Backcountry Camping | Joffre Lake Canada | Hike Up To Glacier

Joffre Lakes is one of BC's most beautiful hikes and is relatively easy to access compared to other alpine lakes in the region. The hiking trail passes all three lakes and reaches the campsite next to Upper Joffre Lake.

how long in total did you hike from parking to the camping site?

It was around 2 hours to the campsite and another 1 hour from the campsite to the glacier. Hope it helps!

If you tried to access the lakes today (aug 28/23) you would find the area has been closed (justifiably) by local indigenous nations probably due to the obscene amount of overcrowding

Yes, they are closed now. In fact, I booked it last weekend and the reservation was cancelled..Thanks for giving a heads up to us.

I’ve day hiked this many times, and was supposed to do an overnight last September but cancelled last minute due to severe rainstorm. Overall out of 10, how hard would your ate the hike to glacier vs Joffre upper?
