Nothing like the grunt of a V8 in action. I like the slow motion. I remember the first time it was used in sports. It was Ed Sabol of NFL films that started the use of it in sports. I really love the Sabol’s work in the league. He really changed the way sporting events were covered here in the States. My friend Dan Connors passed away a couple of years ago. I don’t think any of the old original Raiders are still living. Thanks again for another great video. It’s cool they allowed you to get closer in the paddock.

i love amg. in may 2022 i was at the red bull ring, spielberg, austria, my homecountry and it was amazing. even though i struggled to get there bc or health issues i loved every second. got autographs from all drivers, made hundreds of pics and still think about it from time to time. there were gt2/gt3/gt4 and tcr races the whole weekend and training on friday. the mercedes amg gt3 or was it gt2? still used the legendary m159 6.2l v8, it also was sadly muffled, but its a pleasant sound. i hope that they will use it forever, bc. the 4l tt v8 sounds lame, especially the flat plane variant, i hate that vacuum cleaner! but by far the best sound came from the brabham bt62, powered by the same 5.4l coyote v8 in the new mustang gt3 race car. it was an australian team with a black, white and gold livery, my no.1 car this weekend. the mclaren 720s were lame, like the other mercedes gt4s, the new flat plane engines just arent my cup of coffee. finally the 5.2l v10s in the lamborghini hurracan super trofeo evo 2 and hurracan gt3 and audi r8 had an angels voice, glorious v10 symphony. the turbo inline 6 bmw m4s were pretty fast, sound ok, but im more of a v8 guy. the flat six porsches were by FAR the loudest cars there, it was deafening, it really hurt my ears, such screamers, but they sound really good, i like flat engines generally. petrolicious greetings from austria!
Thanks for this excellent comment. Although turbo engines are the path that all car manufacturers are taking, I'm also a big fan of naturally aspirated engines, preferably V8/V10. Reverse thread wheel nuts on the port (drivers) side to prevent them loosening from wheel torque. Sometimes German engineers aren't just overengineering everything.
Of course, some drivers are born into a family that allows them to grow and dream of having a career in motorsport at the highest levels. But let's remember that it is not automatic, you need to have talent to get to the top and money can't buy that.
You're right, I hadn't noticed. Now and then, I film the mechanics when they tighten the tyres with the torque wrench. I went to look for a clip I had made in Misano of a Porsche 992 GT3-R where the mechanics on the left side tightened the wheels by pushing the bar from top to bottom clockwise and doing the same thing on the right side. Now, looking at the Mercedes in this video, where the mechanic on the left side tightens the tyres from top to bottom in an anti-clockwise direction, the mechanic on the other side should do the same. Still, if you look closely, he pushes the bar from top to bottom in a clockwise direction, while logically, he should have lowered the key not from the front on the nose of the car but from behind at door height in an anti-clockwise direction. I don't know what to think, maybe the pneumatic gun had tightened the tires too much on that side? Or he was simply wrong.
