In this new video I test out the best build for the new updated pycno, one of my fav dinosaurs, with new strong abilites I test out the pycno in a course of fights against dasps, lambeos and more! enjoy :D

I love how people are saying it’s op but others are saying it’s worse than what it’s was before, you can never make everyone happy I guess lol
It's also hpw tohtibe is rn; make toxic content first so people will watch, then if even a SINGLE buff comes in, they can say it's perfect.

It's not bad it's just flawed for what they want it to be to little hp to deal deal with small dinos and to little turn speed to not have a tail attack it doesn't even need a armor buff or anything

@ken6056 be fr. Any dino in the video could have beaten him, they were just bad. If I'm remembering correctly the styrac has a smaller combat weight and has far more advantages. Same speed. Same durability more attack, better turn radius.

Too many caveats only thing I like is juke and the steam recovery headslam does damage to yourself sooo
I just remembered some fights I’ve had before with pycno where say I’d find a pachy or something and we’d both charge from a distance and collide head on, I remember it was kinda cool feeling because I knew my pycno hit that pachy a lot harder than it did me lol. Really showed how much pycnos hurt when they’re hurling at you max speed.
It should have a tail slot imo, putting both juke and the tail charge-up ability in same category as charge so you have to choose is a bit of a shame. Not too good of turning (maybe for the better) and still gets chased down by metris/ceratos/speed dasp etc isn't a great look tbf. Had a group of griefers run up to me and send me a friend rq and attacked when they were close and metris just tail rode me the whole time i ran not being able to gain any distance from them even though you're a land torpedo lmao

@@Jeskio420 You can use juke and head slam at the same time, so if something like a metri or meg tries tailriding you you can head slam em pretty easily. Its a shame you have to pick between juke and charge tho

New pycno's great and all, but I miss tail attack a ton, and i dont feel its worth swapping charge for juke, so smaller faster things can run circles around you and tail ride. And the new charged tail attack isnt worth keeping over charge either.
Yeah, that's a shame
It sucks against smaller things that can turn better because we don’t have a regular tail attack now😢

If you get good with head slam you can reliably strike mid tiers as they come charging in and its REALLY effective i think it 2-3 shots conc after a headbutt? But yea its a lot harder to deal with them now
I love how we are going up in tiers in terms of Dino TLCs here’s hoping we get a Spino and Rex TLC that give them that over all energy why they’re apexes!

Its got such weird potential! I’ve struggled to kill anything with it, and been bodied by anything that can outspeed me before I can outstam it, but it’s new abilities are way fun, so I can’t stop playing it
The only thing that outspeeds pyc is alio, campto, and struth. You shouldnt get bodied by those dinos
@@dgrant3062styra is the same speed if not faster from my experience. It can easily body pycno.
@@dgrant3062Stuthi has insane turning radius and without the tail attack you'll be hurt. And if it's chasing you with another herb, you're dead. Alio has better turning radius and dose insane damage. Styrac has the same speed and better damage.
W hp regen hide I love using those just because healing after fights makes you really vulnerable. I love the generalist abilities more than just pvp -damage hides and whatnot.
This thing is a pure skill and timing dino. Head slam needs to hit them before your body collides to do massive damage and charge now needs a huge gap to do damage. Tap charging doesn't work anymore, you might as well bite. I love this thing, it does have a good bit of trouble with megs and tailrideing due to its turning but I always lose them on hills with the uphill ignoring skill. I prefer this new pycno now that I understand it
It's good to see people learning to use Pycno effectively!
Charge with juggernaut and a successful hit does 135 or 155 dmg. Need to train to properly use charge

Duck doesn’t really need one but I think it will eventually get one on the future for maybe another model change and another arm slot. Spino definitely needs one
@@jurassicjuice2479 duck is extremely underwhelming, it’s the weakest apex by a substantial margin. And 2s cooldown for a 65dmg attack while Rex gets a less than 1s cooldown for a 80dmg attack? Seem really unfair too me, especially since it also has a less than desirable turn radius and only has a single main attack to work with. It really needs a TLC. Or at least a reduction to his claw attack cooldown.
@@dadoprado208 Fair enough. But I think that’s partly because realistically, a Deinocheirus wouldn’t really be an apex. Unlike Rex or trike, it be somewhere in between. But it sits an unhealthy balance between apex and sub apex. So yes a tlc is needed but not before Spino
@@jurassicjuice2479well we can’t really bring in realism so justify things because “realistically” a singular raptor could *never* take down a t-rex/trike on it’s own and yet in POT they do (and pretty easily-ish). And ye I do very much agree that duck sits in a very ungreat spot between sub and full apex, as it demolishes mid tiers but gets demolished by any dinosaur in the same tier as it self. I think Duck needs a TLC more urgently than Spino, because Spino has gotten some love in the last year or so, and even got new abilities and slots while duck has stayed pretty much the same, but Spino does need a TLC urgently as well.

I wouldn't say he's op but he did get good buffs... There are critical flaws in his kit one being he can damage himself by utilizing one of his main strengths also doing less damage for not moving? There's so many caveats its dumb no other dinosaur has to go through hurdles to do damage

Yo Jeskio, can I recommend Zuchengtyrannus? It’s pretty fun Ngl. Think of it as like a smaller Rex, but plays kinda like a dasp with things bigger than it. Pro Tip for Zucheng pvp btw, Tail Attack is best, but the alt bite is useful against smaller opponents.

It really only does little damage if you’re “Shotgun charging.” Meaning doing it without any run up. Although I do wonder if juggernaut boosts the damage enough to make shotgun charging more viable since the change a while back
It probably dont. The buff is only x1.5 and shotgun charge does less than the bite or about the same@@tinytachanka6177
actually charge is bar none the strongest attack pyc has, it does 90 dmg and with juggernaut it does 135, that is 55 more dmg then a rex bite. Even your headbutt only does 35 dmg so charge is really the only way to do good dmg as pyc.

I can't speak on solo, but pycno in a group is fucking busted. 3 people use the extra knkckback roar and its easy mode.

I’m glad Pycno got a TLC, but I think it’s somewhat balanced or slightly weaker, it is slightly tankier because of the increased combat weight, it’s still faster and have greater stamina than all the other large carnivores , plus all the new abilities do make it dangerous in groups. Personally I think Pycno solo is weak. I tired it out and Achillos and Ceratos can just tailride you due to having no effective tail attack. Charged tail honestly not that good to use compared to Charge and Juke. Any small carnivore packs can just overpower you and kill you.

@@kindullz9841 Nop, new Pycno is actually really good imo, buts it’s hard to use. Heck when I was first using it I thought it was terrible.
Pycno is still BAD after the TLC "buff", I should know; it was my first grow, and I have played as pycno for over a hundred hours. These fights are cherry picked on some pvp community server. On official, you can no longer play as solo pycno and expect to contend with any type of group. You used to be able to run away and use tail, but now you must face them head-on in order to do damage. Even in a 1v1 it is a toss. If they decide to chase you, then you won't be able to turn around to do damage. The build you suggest will get you killed in official as soon as you're body blocked. With no tail attack a campto or struthi will body you. My friend mains campto, and there is NOTHING the pycno can do about it. They are free kills for him.
I REALLY REALLY WANT to make pycno work, so I'll give juggernaut another try like you suggest, but last time I used it a bator blocked me and face tanked most of my hp, then chased me to the edge of the Earth.
Its definitely not an easy build or tlc… I’ve been trying to use juggernaut on a young sub rex, but without fail I’d get stuck underneath it and die
I mean pycno isnt really meant to be a solo dino imo. And in 1v1s you were forced to trade if u wanted to deal actual damage, yes baiting and using tail attack worked but it took forever to kill whatever u were fighting.
@@dgrant3062 It's about survivability. As a solo I used to be able to defend myself by running away. You can't run from a campto or struthi, and you can't win a 1v1 with them unless you back against a wall. In official, backing against a wall is not an option for a pycno more often than not due to enemies having teammates.
@@skymaster7776 I gave it another shot right after making the comment. I think I like jugg, but it's still rough. Tried to fight a dasp with 2 rex friends. Any time I charged the dasp, I'd be left stalled out and stuck on the dasp then take a bite from each before getting away.
As a solo pycno you shouldn’t be fighting many groups head-on in official anyways. Pycno isn’t intended to fight multiple creatures like iguanodon.
