I just purchased a 2014 estate VW Passat executive tdi bmt 2.0litre diesel this week top spec. One of the best cars i have ever owned!
How has it aged?
Do you also get engine rattle below 1500 ram? Or do most diesels now do that
Vw needs to screw its head on better the vw passat Estate should be sold everywhere, it's a bad move to sell them only in select countries

Agreed, currently run a TSi highline Golf Mk7, very nice to own and drive and live with, ok not super thrilling to drive but not boring either, refined and smooth.

Probably one of the best tow cars I've towed with and comfy as they come couldn't recommend one more for towing with well planted with 1600kg behind you.

If you bought one with your own money you're nuts ! Go for the Mondeo or Mazda6, much better looking and not as dreary and soul destroying. The Passat, truely a hateful car, vastly over rated !
+John Connery Have you owned one? I'm interested in actual owner feedback for the Mondeo, 6, Octavia or Passat estates. I'm leaning towards the Mondeo.
+Mububban23 I've not owned one but have had the Passat, Octavia and a pair of Mazda 6 estates as company cars. If you're looking at cars in that segment I'd add the Skoda Superb to your list. The Passat is an ok car, nothing special. The reliability of modern cars are pretty much the same now, likewise build quality is comparable. Personally if it were my money and I wanted a huge estate with great looks I'd go for the Superb, the Mazda and Mondeo both look the best but aren't quite as big as the Superb, the Octavia is more Golf sized so isn't as big as the others. I'd put the Passat at the bottom. Doesn't look interesting, doesn't drive particularly well, over priced however it's good on a motorway and its big inside. But then again so are the others.
As a Passat owner I agree. We own a 2006 Passat which is not running on its original engine! Due to a oil pump failure
No, the Mazda is a little small the Mondeo is ok, the Passat and superb are in another level
