Well that kind of makes you a little bit fraud if you're comparing games that you talk shit on 2019 but then clearly things wrong with 2021 but you didn't mention the video you should redo the video 2019 is a lot better than 20 21 we're being honest
when i picture a next gen golf game i want graphics like fifa, where you can see the grass flowing, the divits coming up, walking to your shot, having a true 4k next gen experience. I feel like all golf games have looked the same for the last 15 years. 2k is a good step, but it can look sooooo much better, golf on GTA is more breathtaking honestly.
Completely agree. This team however is a very small one. They have always put more focus on making sure the game plays as true to life as possible. Hopefully with the partnership with 2K, an influx of people buying the game, and more money coming in, they can grow their team and get the graphics that we all desire with a golf game.
I'll sacrifice graphical bells and whistles for the amazing course editor and all the community courses the series offers. It's a trade-off that's well worth it.
It also blows my mind that there are so many divots on the far tees for a 554 yard hole. Youd be taking the driver for the most part. 99/100 times there is no divot left with a driver off a tee box.
@@johnnywaffles2482 arny took divots with driver back in the day. modern driver swing makes it impossible to take a divot unless your trying to hit a stinger.
Completely agree. I already have it written as feedback to provide to the devs. Also, these are pro players, there really shouldn't be divots off the tee on most of these holes.
This was a great video comparing the swings from both games. Can’t believe there is that much difference in how much more faster and better the swing is in 2K21. Also great work on setting up your ball to be in the same general area as the 2K21 video. With no way to actually place your ball is the spot, it was amazing how close you got it!

Hey, I wish I could. This was direct footage from HB Studios. I don't have an early build of the game but trust me I wish I did. I just used this as a form to compare the two from what HB Studios has shown us. I am also patiently waiting for a more in depth gameplay video and I hope they do one so that I can compare em.
You're doing both us and the devs a service by showing their efforts in easy side by sides. The graphics and physics look a good bit better in 2k21. I do hope they spruce up the crowds, they've always only had like 3 animations, and it's silly that they all stand with their hands down staring.

Idk I'm not feeling the meter. If they could give you an option then that would be awesome. Also i like how you can control the spin by moving the way you hit the ball. TGC will always be the goat golf game IMO
Idk to me what makes TGC so great is using the right stick to control your shot. Like if you were too fast or slow it would draw or fade. So when you hit a good shot it felt rewarding. Now with the meter i feel more people will hit better shots
That is all still there. Back swing just has a more defined power to it now instead of TGC 2019 where everything was in increments of 5% and sometimes a little random. Tempo is still there and will have the fast and slow you are describing.
What an amazing video for a golf game freak such as myself. Really appreciate this. I'm satisfied with the current 2019 offering, but wow, this has me excited for a new version.
When I watched the gameplay video I noticed the differences, but putting it side by side was very astonishing to me. The differences stuck out in a big way. I'm glad that you found this video as illuminating as I found it creating it.
Personally I like 2K21 gameplay better. The overall feel of the physics of the ball and also spin rates are more in line with a sim golf game. Compared to Tiger Woods I can see it being a shock though. I always looked at Tiger as more casual/arcade where as 2K21 plays a lot more sim based.
I agreed with most of what you said... have to admit though, i thought the rough looked better on the 2019... more variance in color and more textured. I think the clear distinction as it goes from heavy light abd fairway is much better in 2019... the blending it together makes it look like the course was not maticuliously manicured, which it is when the tour comes to town... the 2k21 look is more like at a cheap municipal course.
This just proves we all see things differently. I'm the complete opposite with the rough comparison. I wouldn't have noticed this without this video, but 2019 doesn't even look grass in my eyes.
Completely agree Burk. We all see things differently and like different things. I think the coloring can definitely have some more variation as Bobby says as the rough cut of grass normally does but 2019 to me looks like a dark colored carpet sat down on a golf course.
We do not even know if the new grass textures are going to be on all courses. You may be lucky & find that all but the Tour courses are the same as 2019.
Also, they have always prided themselves in saying that every course they make they also make in the editor so we might see all these changes come to the community which would be fantastic.
Are there any weather effects options for either game? (Sunny, rainy, stormy, windy, etc.) How about time of day or night options? I always liked those options in the old Tiger Woods games. (I haven't searched all of the comments and questions, so forgive me if this has already been asked and answered.) I already read a question about if the ball arch can be disabled, so I won't ask that one again. I prefer without the ball arch, because it looks more realistic.

The ball is still a snooker cue ball with no dimples, there's hardly any environment animations. You'd think they could at least place dynamic random fairway divots & divot marks each time you play a course. One day I hope this will be the best golf game ever.
I feel like 2k21 with either show some promise or will be a bland game with little optimization. It will either shape the future of golf games or send them back to the drawing board.
@@johnnywaffles2482 2K21 are famous for micro transactions. Yes this game is improving though very very slowly. I think they need a new game engine to bring it to next gen level of detail, Unity game engine needs to go.

Thank you for taking the time to make this fantastic comparison video; it really highlights the differences of the two games. I hope that the gameplay will have as much of an improvement as the graphics and presentation clearly have.
You and me both. 2019 is good overall in gameplay aspects but there is always room for improvement. Seeing all the changes they have made to the course makes me very optimistic that they have done a ton of work on the game in all facets of the game.
The thing that really bugs me is the lack of spin, the pitch shot you showed, in real life that would bounce maybe a couple of times then zip back. The hole in 1 that you showed again, (I’d imagine it was a wedge of some sort) would not roll out that much coming down from that height. Same with the chipping, there’s hardly any check after the 1st bounce so it doesn’t really work well. Flop shots even more so.
Did they fix the glitch from 2019 where if you use your console handheld and push "A" it shows you where the ball might land then when you change clubs it jumps about a 100 feet and you can't get back to the spot you were just at visually?
I figure reporting it would just be a waste of time. I've asked on a couple of other forums that the supposed developers were reading about having voice chat and why there isn't. Never got a response.
Yeah, completely agree. I talked about it the comments somewhere here, but yeah, the club flares out at the top which I believe can be fleshed out before launch.
Why does the tee box look so bad with no grass textures in 2019, compared to 2k21...but the fairway of 2019 looks much better while 2k21 looks washed out with no textures?
Still looks very bad with the high tee’s on the iron shots .. like cmon watch one tournament of pro golf and you know that No one tee’s it like that. Such a small but visually important detail that puts me off
Looks good. I may have to jump back in to this game. Swing is much better. Flight path seems a little slow. Some of the graphical improvements are subtle, others less so; but these side-by-sides are a good showcase. Did the you see the crowd pop-in issues around the green? I hope that gets fixed.
I have new 2K21 videos up and the pop ins seem to be a lot better. Especially with things in the distance. That was always a problem in 2019 and seems to be at least a little moire fleshed out now in 2K21.
A nice video and obviously lots of work put in but for me what matters is the elimination of the random very fast and slow swings , a reduction in distance for slow downswings , the ball dropping instead of going over the hole at times when putting , the option to select your course in matchmaking mode , the inclusion of real player names in career mode and the introduction of leaders playing last in rounds 3 and 4 in career mode. Aesthetic improvements are all well and good but they are no match for good/realistic gameplay.
This is with all aids turned on. We will more than likely get a more sim experience if we want it or this for someone who just wants to go out and hit a ball around the course.
absolutely gutted to see that 'Golf Club 2' is gone offline was about to play the agusta course that someone made, they have taken away all the user made courses. just bought '2K21' hoping to have it before masters coverage starts. was a real big fan of 'Golf Club 2'

@@MoreRespawn I wouldn't have imagined that there was that much difference in the swing speeds between the two. I don't know how they've altered the swing animation, as it still looks like it's Kirk Oguri's mo-capped swing from TGC 2, at its core, but there are subtle differences. I notice that "Mac's" right elbow seems to be flying a little bit higher at the peak of the backswing compared to your 2019 golfer. I'm glad it's at least different though... we need to see some degree of change there. 2K and HB Studios owes you a commission check bro! :-)
@OnlookerDelay at its core it does look as of it is the same swing and there is still some work to go to get it to a true tour pro swing but yes, the differences they have made has been a huge improvement.
The divot locations are in the exact same spot, so it’s pretty clear that they just reskined the 2019 courses. It all looks better and is a welcome change though. Hopefully the commentary is better too.
Swing timing is stupid on 2k21 i play without out when i play online with my buddies wish i culd turn it off in pga tour mode. After upswing your suppose to move the stick from back to foward and if you do this too fast ball breaks left and too slow ball breaks right. It literally just messes up your shot. O and that 5 frame hitch your talking about on upswing to down swing transition is just the game waiting for your next input whether your gonna hit the ball or just bring the club back down to the ball without hitting it.
Well yeah, the transition period between back swing and down swing there is a slight pause. 2019 was very exaggerated and quite honestly pretty bad. 2k21 has fleshed that out to make it look cleaner altogether. It should be a smooth transition from back to downswing and they have done a great job and representing that better in this gameplay we saw.

I am struggling with PC mouse with this game 2019. No matter how fast or slow I come through on the down swing it always says very slow or slow and the ball goes way right. I used to play TW 2007 expert with mouse with no issue. This is my first golf game since that time and really disappointed at the moment, any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks
Yeah but will we be able to put power boosts into our shots and use spin to get an edge when the ball lands??? With EA not giving us that any more I feel a “casual” mode with these features would thrill old school fans
It’s a way better game even to this date !! I which Ea could just go for a golf game with frostbite engine and a cool career mode .. would be so dope !!
Graphically Rory is better. The big difference is EA has unlimited resources and an engine already built graphically and HB, which is a much smaller studio with much more limited resources. The hope is that if this game does well enough 2K will invest more heavily into the series and the game will be built on a new engine for next gen consoles. Time will tell. This game though, shines when it comes to gameplay on the course and also the course designer where thousands of great courses are built for you to play instead of the limited amount that Rory had at launch and as paid DLC.

But I really need to work out how to drop some of these assists as it is making the game dead easy (or selecting Amateur level after all this time playing Golf Club 2019 was the wrong move) .. but if I remove the assists, what's to stop my mates using them when playing online? Or can you select assists off when creating a match? @@fatal_bull When you create a lobby online you can set the settings for everyone to use or set them to open or both. You have full control of the lobby. Coming from 2019 you will absolutely want to knock some of the assists off, especially if you are half way decent. Anything over pro may get a little difficult at first because the timings are completely different from 2019.

Glad the greens are more realistic. 2019 is a great game just the greens sucked. So I’m glad that 21 has the backspin stick as well more realistic bounce
More gameplay footage coming out should give us a firm grasp of what changes have been made. Spin rates are a little mystery still but I'm hoping they have been overhauled.
Too bad it’s not a more arcade style with power presses during swing and spin. Then it’s just a game where you move your left stick back and forward. 60 dollars to move your stick...?
They should have kept the swing sim. Takes more skill with swing sim....I get it, they're playing to the masses. Graphics are better but it looks like game play is bunk
Yeah, I'm guessing this is a pretty old stable build we saw. I'm hoping that we get a clean box honestly. Pros don't usually take divots off the tee like what is shown in both games.
That depends. If you want a game where you just go out and play some rounds of golf and have a pretty enjoyable experience - 2019 is for you. If you are looking for the next iteration, a more robust career mode, and potentially getting involved with an in depth online experience than 2K21 will be good for you.

Hi Respawn, a question I meant to ask you. Does the ball just run and run still on the greens, even uphill. On 2019 it just ruined immersion for me completely because how a ball jdut kept running uphill and never came back. Cheers
Personally the whole fairway area just looks like green blurry mush on the new game... I've got my swing nailed on 19 too so I don't really want to have to completely recalibrate. I'd enjoy better commentary though.
I want to know why they still havent put a computer player with you playing. They dont play on tour with just one player by himself. That's always bothered me even in Tiger Woods games. If not a character the a ghost ball something to challenge you on shots.
I do like the idea of a ghost ball. I believe that a CPU player isnt put on the course with you because of how fast paced most people want the gameplay now. People dont want to wait for a cpu player to go, they want to get out on the course and shoot a round without stoppage. I can see both views of it. A ghost ball would be a nice touch to get best of both worlds. They have the ability as a ghost ball can be used in 2019 right now.

We are still waiting on spin rates and launch angles for clubs. I'm sure they have worked on this though as it was a lot of people main gripe about 2019. Also, thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I didn't know that they did that for past Golf Club games. It would make sense. Hopefully with this new "power bar" partial shots will be better aligned with the actual swing of the golf club. 2019 swing has always just looked alien to me.
Respawn if your going to be having to look at the power bar isn’t that like going back to the three click swing, not looking at the golfer to me takes you out of the game.
Respawn I’ve read it on the forum somewhere it could have been for the second game where they slowed the swing slightly. I don’t know if they kept that speed going forward to 2019
@Leslie Sangster Good thing about all the HUD options is you can turn them off. Turn off the power bar and it goes back to knowing the power needed for certain swings by looking at the golfer or muscle memory.
@Granville Wright Sure but you can still partial shot. Yes you could never get anything other than 5% difference but you can still gauge somewhat what that will come off of by feel and sight of the club. It is very hard to fine tune. I don't do it because I can never get tempo right but I can usually get the percentage down to a good margin of error. Either way it seems that partial shots are going to be a ton easier this year and have a way to fine tune down to a percentage which is great.
I think it does depend on the course but yes in some instances I agree with you about greens and fairways. Excited to see what graphical steps HB takes on the next one.
Not a fan, when you watch Madden NFL those guys are running and they look real. This is a static swing that can easily be biomechanically framed out to make look like a real swing... looks like it was done by someone who obviously isn't a player or knows the swing mechanics. Garbage. if players play this game it may make their games worse.
i miss ea pga tour since it had arcade golf mode and simulation mode. It was a game my family can play with little issues. The pure golf simulator like golf club was hard for them . If this has that mode then i will get it. If it is just golf simulator then might get it for me but family won't play because simulator (golf club 2019) if frustrating for them. Will have to keep playing ea pga w/ rory mcilory will continue to be the family golf game.

Ah alright. This video was with all the aids on. All the aids you see are able to be turned off and every piece of the UI is able to be turned off as well.
The bar can be turned off. The power bar is there to help with partial shots (we think) You are still using the stick though. Pulling the stick back increases that power bar while also keeping tempo in order. Its not hitting a button to increase power.
Is there an option to have the swing bar at the bottom of the screen the way it is in 2019 in the right hand side ? what about sliced or hook shot indication ?
I want to be able to hit a pitching wedge 155 into the wind. No fault with accuracy but a different tempo or something. I hate hitting a 7 iron out of the rough, when im 140 yards out, with 5 mph wind in my face. then it rolls out 8 yards. I hit the ball "high". Just hope they allow us to hit the ball like the pros, now that the pros are in the game. This aint no \hobby
I agree, it would be nice to have an option where someone can power up a shot, if the lie allows it of course. Hopefully if this became a feature there would be a very small margin for error when not having an ideal lie.
I’m hoping the fixed ball flights from 2019 or all GC to be honest. Any solid ball striker knows they balls don’t float. There is no penetration then lift. It’s just lift. 2019 was actually terrible in the ball physics department. The Linx series did a good job.
100 percent agree. They tried to get it a little better with a patch (it was even worse when 2019 launched) during 2019 cycle but it still just wasn't right with launch angles and spin rates. From the limited amount of footage it seems they have updated the physics department for this game. That's going to be big though and one I will be comparing when I get my hands on 2k21.

Also didn't realize at the time what your channel is and have been enjoying all your content. I'm a little put off by fasting. But still addicted to the TGC ladders and seeing how far I can go. I really like grid in 2k21. It's a lot closer to what grid looked like in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06. In 2019 reading that grid is a lot more difficult especially if you're visually impaired like me.
Awesome comparison video!! I’m hoping from what I’ve seen that 2K21 is more accessible for beginners. I found 2019 to be quite difficult for me in terms the handling the swing mechanics.
I think you will have no problem with accessibility. From what we have seen so far just in way of the gameplay video we got they have absolutely made it more accessible. More aids have been added to the experience for those that want it which should allow for each golfer to tune the amount of difficulty they want on the course.
@@MoreRespawn I dont think its a good way to go. The difficulty level was more than enough. Still it is a bit easy. I hope that IF you are a beginner (in comparisin to beginner, pro, master clubs) that the aid will not overkill the competition. Like if you play more difficult level a beginner should not stand a chance against the one playing on difficult. Then it should be "amature" vs "amature" and as you progress you meet likeminded. In a society the differences will show when beginners plays vs pros (if this made any sence)
I think you might want to check your system cuz 2019 did not have a glitch I mean that might open it first came out but that was fixed relatively soon cuz I got a free month after it came out and I've never once had a glitch in my game I'm not sure what the playlist video is other than talk crashing 2019 even though it's far better than 2021
I played 2019 for 700 hours and produced content for it for months, if you think this channel is dedicated to talking smack about 2019 Idk what to tell ya. Also, if you think 2019 game play is better than 2k21 then that is your opinion. Great thing about opinions is everyone can have differing opinions. My opinion after logging around 700 hours into 2K21 is that 2K21 is far superior game play and graphically to 2019. I'm not stating that as fact, I'm stating that as my opinion. Your opinion is not fact. Also this video is almost a year old and was based off a game play demo we saw from an IGN post before the game even came out.

And that knowing how 2k treats its other sports titles, you'll have to drop more money to be able to fully customise any character or courses you make

The colors the lighting in the shadows are much better in the 2K 21
Idk to me what makes TGC so great is using the right stick to control your shot. Like if you were too fast or slow it would draw or fade. So when you hit a good shot it felt rewarding. Now with the meter i feel more people will hit better shots
That is all still there. Back swing just has a more defined power to it now instead of TGC 2019 where everything was in increments of 5% and sometimes a little random. Tempo is still there and will have the fast and slow you are describing.
What an amazing video for a golf game freak such as myself. Really appreciate this. I'm satisfied with the current 2019 offering, but wow, this has me excited for a new version.
When I watched the gameplay video I noticed the differences, but putting it side by side was very astonishing to me. The differences stuck out in a big way. I'm glad that you found this video as illuminating as I found it creating it.
Overall gameplay wise, which game is better? I tried 2k21 and got a refund on steam. It just didn't feel right as someone who played Tiger Woods.
Personally I like 2K21 gameplay better. The overall feel of the physics of the ball and also spin rates are more in line with a sim golf game. Compared to Tiger Woods I can see it being a shock though. I always looked at Tiger as more casual/arcade where as 2K21 plays a lot more sim based.
I agreed with most of what you said... have to admit though, i thought the rough looked better on the 2019... more variance in color and more textured. I think the clear distinction as it goes from heavy light abd fairway is much better in 2019... the blending it together makes it look like the course was not maticuliously manicured, which it is when the tour comes to town... the 2k21 look is more like at a cheap municipal course.
This just proves we all see things differently. I'm the complete opposite with the rough comparison. I wouldn't have noticed this without this video, but 2019 doesn't even look grass in my eyes.
Completely agree Burk. We all see things differently and like different things. I think the coloring can definitely have some more variation as Bobby says as the rough cut of grass normally does but 2019 to me looks like a dark colored carpet sat down on a golf course.
We do not even know if the new grass textures are going to be on all courses.
You may be lucky & find that all but the Tour courses are the same as 2019.

Also, they have always prided themselves in saying that every course they make they also make in the editor so we might see all these changes come to the community which would be fantastic.

Are there any weather effects options for either game? (Sunny, rainy, stormy, windy, etc.) How about time of day or night options? I always liked those options in the old Tiger Woods games. (I haven't searched all of the comments and questions, so forgive me if this has already been asked and answered.) I already read a question about if the ball arch can be disabled, so I won't ask that one again. I prefer without the ball arch, because it looks more realistic.
Great video. Excited for this game even though it lacks a deep roster but i believe this is just the start of what is going to be an amazing pga experience for years to come.
The ball is still a snooker cue ball with no dimples, there's hardly any environment animations. You'd think they could at least place dynamic random fairway divots & divot marks each time you play a course. One day I hope this will be the best golf game ever.
I feel like 2k21 with either show some promise or will be a bland game with little optimization. It will either shape the future of golf games or send them back to the drawing board.
@@johnnywaffles2482 2K21 are famous for micro transactions. Yes this game is improving though very very slowly. I think they need a new game engine to bring it to next gen level of detail, Unity game engine needs to go.

You and me both. 2019 is good overall in gameplay aspects but there is always room for improvement. Seeing all the changes they have made to the course makes me very optimistic that they have done a ton of work on the game in all facets of the game.

2019, grass looks better imop
The thing that really bugs me is the lack of spin, the pitch shot you showed, in real life that would bounce maybe a couple of times then zip back. The hole in 1 that you showed again, (I’d imagine it was a wedge of some sort) would not roll out that much coming down from that height. Same with the chipping, there’s hardly any check after the 1st bounce so it doesn’t really work well. Flop shots even more so.
Did they fix the glitch from 2019 where if you use your console handheld and push "A" it shows you where the ball might land then when you change clubs it jumps about a 100 feet and you can't get back to the spot you were just at visually?

Reporting bugs and glitches in a game is never a waste of time. If they don't know about it they can't fix it.

Yeah, completely agree. I talked about it the comments somewhere here, but yeah, the club flares out at the top which I believe can be fleshed out before launch.
Why does the tee box look so bad with no grass textures in 2019, compared to 2k21...but the fairway of 2019 looks much better while 2k21 looks washed out with no textures?

Still looks very bad with the high tee’s on the iron shots .. like cmon watch one tournament of pro golf and you know that No one tee’s it like that. Such a small but visually important detail that puts me off
Looks good. I may have to jump back in to this game. Swing is much better. Flight path seems a little slow. Some of the graphical improvements are subtle, others less so; but these side-by-sides are a good showcase. Did the you see the crowd pop-in issues around the green? I hope that gets fixed.
I have new 2K21 videos up and the pop ins seem to be a lot better. Especially with things in the distance. That was always a problem in 2019 and seems to be at least a little moire fleshed out now in 2K21.

A nice video and obviously lots of work put in but for me what matters is the elimination of the random very fast and slow swings , a reduction in distance for slow downswings , the ball dropping instead of going over the hole at times when putting , the option to select your course in matchmaking mode , the inclusion of real player names in career mode and the introduction of leaders playing last in rounds 3 and 4 in career mode. Aesthetic improvements are all well and good but they are no match for good/realistic gameplay.

@@MoreRespawn I wouldn't have imagined that there was that much difference in the swing speeds between the two. I don't know how they've altered the swing animation, as it still looks like it's Kirk Oguri's mo-capped swing from TGC 2, at its core, but there are subtle differences. I notice that "Mac's" right elbow seems to be flying a little bit higher at the peak of the backswing compared to your 2019 golfer. I'm glad it's at least different though... we need to see some degree of change there. 2K and HB Studios owes you a commission check bro! :-)
@OnlookerDelay at its core it does look as of it is the same swing and there is still some work to go to get it to a true tour pro swing but yes, the differences they have made has been a huge improvement.
The divot locations are in the exact same spot, so it’s pretty clear that they just reskined the 2019 courses. It all looks better and is a welcome change though. Hopefully the commentary is better too.
Swing timing is stupid on 2k21 i play without out when i play online with my buddies wish i culd turn it off in pga tour mode. After upswing your suppose to move the stick from back to foward and if you do this too fast ball breaks left and too slow ball breaks right. It literally just messes up your shot. O and that 5 frame hitch your talking about on upswing to down swing transition is just the game waiting for your next input whether your gonna hit the ball or just bring the club back down to the ball without hitting it.

Oh and tbe pause at the top may be a bit exaggerated in 2019 but the swing isn't supposed to be a continuous motion.. there should be a pause.
Well yeah, the transition period between back swing and down swing there is a slight pause. 2019 was very exaggerated and quite honestly pretty bad. 2k21 has fleshed that out to make it look cleaner altogether. It should be a smooth transition from back to downswing and they have done a great job and representing that better in this gameplay we saw.

Does this have true swing like the EA Tiger Woods PGA Tour golf games would have. When you played on pc and you would swing with the mouse.
It's a solid pass for me. I can't justify $60 dollars for a rehash of a game I already own twice. TGC and the VR version.
I am struggling with PC mouse with this game 2019. No matter how fast or slow I come through on the down swing it always says very slow or slow and the ball goes way right. I used to play TW 2007 expert with mouse with no issue. This is my first golf game since that time and really disappointed at the moment, any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks
Yeah but will we be able to put power boosts into our shots and use spin to get an edge when the ball lands??? With EA not giving us that any more I feel a “casual” mode with these features would thrill old school fans
Probably not. This game has never been about the arcade side of golf games. I would be surprised of we ever saw something like that in this.

It’s a way better game even to this date !! I which Ea could just go for a golf game with frostbite engine and a cool career mode .. would be so dope !!
Graphically Rory is better. The big difference is EA has unlimited resources and an engine already built graphically and HB, which is a much smaller studio with much more limited resources. The hope is that if this game does well enough 2K will invest more heavily into the series and the game will be built on a new engine for next gen consoles. Time will tell. This game though, shines when it comes to gameplay on the course and also the course designer where thousands of great courses are built for you to play instead of the limited amount that Rory had at launch and as paid DLC.
I like the swing interface of 2019 better. 2K21 has a reduced simulation feel.

But I really need to work out how to drop some of these assists as it is making the game dead easy (or selecting Amateur level after all this time playing Golf Club 2019 was the wrong move) .. but if I remove the assists, what's to stop my mates using them when playing online? Or can you select assists off when creating a match? @@fatal_bull When you create a lobby online you can set the settings for everyone to use or set them to open or both. You have full control of the lobby. Coming from 2019 you will absolutely want to knock some of the assists off, especially if you are half way decent. Anything over pro may get a little difficult at first because the timings are completely different from 2019.

More gameplay footage coming out should give us a firm grasp of what changes have been made. Spin rates are a little mystery still but I'm hoping they have been overhauled.

There is multiplayer. You can play random people online, friends, or join public and private tournaments.

This is easiest difficulty with all aids on. The swing is still there just need to turn the aids off.

Yeah, I'm guessing this is a pretty old stable build we saw. I'm hoping that we get a clean box honestly. Pros don't usually take divots off the tee like what is shown in both games.

That depends. If you want a game where you just go out and play some rounds of golf and have a pretty enjoyable experience - 2019 is for you. If you are looking for the next iteration, a more robust career mode, and potentially getting involved with an in depth online experience than 2K21 will be good for you.

Hi Respawn, a question I meant to ask you. Does the ball just run and run still on the greens, even uphill. On 2019 it just ruined immersion for me completely because how a ball jdut kept running uphill and never came back. Cheers
Personally the whole fairway area just looks like green blurry mush on the new game... I've got my swing nailed on 19 too so I don't really want to have to completely recalibrate. I'd enjoy better commentary though.
I want to know why they still havent put a computer player with you playing. They dont play on tour with just one player by himself. That's always bothered me even in Tiger Woods games. If not a character the a ghost ball something to challenge you on shots.
I do like the idea of a ghost ball. I believe that a CPU player isnt put on the course with you because of how fast paced most people want the gameplay now. People dont want to wait for a cpu player to go, they want to get out on the course and shoot a round without stoppage. I can see both views of it. A ghost ball would be a nice touch to get best of both worlds. They have the ability as a ghost ball can be used in 2019 right now.

We are still waiting on spin rates and launch angles for clubs. I'm sure they have worked on this though as it was a lot of people main gripe about 2019. Also, thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I thought they slowed the swing slightly on the first one to allow you a better chance of playing partial shots especially with the irons.
I didn't know that they did that for past Golf Club games. It would make sense. Hopefully with this new "power bar" partial shots will be better aligned with the actual swing of the golf club. 2019 swing has always just looked alien to me.
Respawn if your going to be having to look at the power bar isn’t that like going back to the three click swing, not looking at the golfer to me takes you out of the game.
Respawn I’ve read it on the forum somewhere it could have been for the second game where they slowed the swing slightly. I don’t know if they kept that speed going forward to 2019
@Leslie Sangster Good thing about all the HUD options is you can turn them off. Turn off the power bar and it goes back to knowing the power needed for certain swings by looking at the golfer or muscle memory.
@Granville Wright Sure but you can still partial shot. Yes you could never get anything other than 5% difference but you can still gauge somewhat what that will come off of by feel and sight of the club. It is very hard to fine tune. I don't do it because I can never get tempo right but I can usually get the percentage down to a good margin of error. Either way it seems that partial shots are going to be a ton easier this year and have a way to fine tune down to a percentage which is great.

rough and swing looks better in 2k but fairways and greens look better in 19.
I think it does depend on the course but yes in some instances I agree with you about greens and fairways. Excited to see what graphical steps HB takes on the next one.

Not a fan, when you watch Madden NFL those guys are running and they look real. This is a static swing that can easily be biomechanically framed out to make look like a real swing... looks like it was done by someone who obviously isn't a player or knows the swing mechanics. Garbage. if players play this game it may make their games worse.

i miss ea pga tour since it had arcade golf mode and simulation mode. It was a game my family can play with little issues. The pure golf simulator like golf club was hard for them . If this has that mode then i will get it. If it is just golf simulator then might get it for me but family won't play because simulator (golf club 2019) if frustrating for them. Will have to keep playing ea pga w/ rory mcilory will continue to be the family golf game.
I'm hoping that the difficulty levels they are putting in make it accessible to everyone.

Ah alright. This video was with all the aids on. All the aids you see are able to be turned off and every piece of the UI is able to be turned off as well.

The bar can be turned off. The power bar is there to help with partial shots (we think) You are still using the stick though. Pulling the stick back increases that power bar while also keeping tempo in order. Its not hitting a button to increase power.

I want to be able to hit a pitching wedge 155 into the wind. No fault with accuracy but a different tempo or something. I hate hitting a 7 iron out of the rough, when im 140 yards out, with 5 mph wind in my face. then it rolls out 8 yards. I hit the ball "high". Just hope they allow us to hit the ball like the pros, now that the pros are in the game. This aint no \hobby
I agree, it would be nice to have an option where someone can power up a shot, if the lie allows it of course. Hopefully if this became a feature there would be a very small margin for error when not having an ideal lie.
I’m hoping the fixed ball flights from 2019 or all GC to be honest. Any solid ball striker knows they balls don’t float. There is no penetration then lift. It’s just lift. 2019 was actually terrible in the ball physics department. The Linx series did a good job.
100 percent agree. They tried to get it a little better with a patch (it was even worse when 2019 launched) during 2019 cycle but it still just wasn't right with launch angles and spin rates. From the limited amount of footage it seems they have updated the physics department for this game. That's going to be big though and one I will be comparing when I get my hands on 2k21.

I really like grid in 2k21. It's a lot closer to what grid looked like in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06.
In 2019 reading that grid is a lot more difficult especially if you're visually impaired like me.
I'm playing 19 now......I can't even find the score card ffs....should have waited for 21. They got this right and other things completely wrong.

Awesome comparison video!! I’m hoping from what I’ve seen that 2K21 is more accessible for beginners. I found 2019 to be quite difficult for me in terms the handling the swing mechanics.
I think you will have no problem with accessibility. From what we have seen so far just in way of the gameplay video we got they have absolutely made it more accessible. More aids have been added to the experience for those that want it which should allow for each golfer to tune the amount of difficulty they want on the course.
@@MoreRespawn I dont think its a good way to go. The difficulty level was more than enough. Still it is a bit easy. I hope that IF you are a beginner (in comparisin to beginner, pro, master clubs) that the aid will not overkill the competition. Like if you play more difficult level a beginner should not stand a chance against the one playing on difficult. Then it should be "amature" vs "amature" and as you progress you meet likeminded. In a society the differences will show when beginners plays vs pros (if this made any sence)

I think you might want to check your system cuz 2019 did not have a glitch I mean that might open it first came out but that was fixed relatively soon cuz I got a free month after it came out and I've never once had a glitch in my game I'm not sure what the playlist video is other than talk crashing 2019 even though it's far better than 2021
I played 2019 for 700 hours and produced content for it for months, if you think this channel is dedicated to talking smack about 2019 Idk what to tell ya. Also, if you think 2019 game play is better than 2k21 then that is your opinion. Great thing about opinions is everyone can have differing opinions. My opinion after logging around 700 hours into 2K21 is that 2K21 is far superior game play and graphically to 2019. I'm not stating that as fact, I'm stating that as my opinion. Your opinion is not fact. Also this video is almost a year old and was based off a game play demo we saw from an IGN post before the game even came out.
