    That's freaking insane, no wonder it comes in short supply
    Edit: btw, for Machine Assassin, I recommend running No love Lost instead of Overfall. while the cool down is way longer, it hits 4 times even when fusioned. And EACH debuff that connects stacks up your "debuff for bonus damage"-skill!

      Not only does awakening decrease damage taken, it also applies a sizable recharge buff, bigger than even a Soulhacker's recharge buff. It's an absolutely monstrous buff.

      I like the story but the combat system is abysmal. Just incredibly boring and shallow. Definitely not my kind of game sadly.

    Thanks very much for this comprehensive guide. I have played X2 and Torna dlc but I have still found X3 combat and class/build systems pretty convoluted and I am sure I am not playing optimally. I have favourited this vid as this is going to be something I keep coming back to as I play!

    Ultimate Qigong is technically way more than just 50% dmg increase (it's 50% at a minimum). Example if an enemy has 90% physical resistance, And you do 100 dmg, that's 10 dmg that gets thru. With Qigong (90 resist becomes 40), it becomes 60 dmg. So that's a increase of 600%

    I really disliked XC3's combat when I first saw it. I really wanted to like this game but combat really held me back from getting through the story, despite how interested I was. This guide has inspired me to want to try this game again using all the info I learned from it. I know this is specifically end-game combat info but the info here is much more important than any early-game combat guides that tell me what I already knew.
    Really glad this hit my recommended feed.

    Back for more comment this time. In addition for what I've said earlier, I'm gonna talk about Flash Fencer and Lapidarist.
    As a Smasher, Flash Fencer is indeed weaker than Swordfighter for every Smash, but it is able to inflict Smash much more often than Swordfighter can. FF can go for Hidden Thorn + Mighty Beat, then go for Saber Strike, then go for HT + MB again. This is very useful for enemies that can survive a damage cap Smash, as well as multi-enemy fights like Heroes Frontier. I'd say it should be in the same tier as Swordfighter.
    The choice of Kevesi Healer boils down to Power Ring (Medic Gunner), buff cleansing + Power Charge (War Medic), and average DPS + fast recharge (Lapidarist). I still think that passing Power Charge makes WM above MG and LD, and unless you can reliably stack 3 Power Rings under your Attacker, I'd put LD over MG.

Its a bit hard for me to find such useful information for the game with the sea of useless lazy guides that only read the game descriptions and call themselves guides.       AI does auto attacks into arts usually, but not really arts chain. It's still a good damage increase, as the AI usually cancels anyways, but the player gets by far the most benefit from it.

    Does the Summon Element's elements' buffs stack from different character( for instant; two characters have three Flare elements and does the damage boost stack over 15%?) and what is the exact distance or radius for the "nearby" allies to gain the elements' buffs?

      Flare elements wont stack from multiple characters, instead the closest character is the one that gives the buff and all other elements wont do anything.

      I'll give a lot of credit to the dataminers who actually got a lot of the numbers so that we could find out what works and what doesn't, but I did a fair amount of piecing the builds together myself, occasionally with help from he r/xc and Xeno speedrun discord servers. They can probably go even more in depth there in specific mechanics than I could even in 90 minutes.

    Krark, thank you for your guide. Awakening builds is the real deal. I'd like to ask you if you don't mind about Matthew and A' Unity Skill in future redeemed. It has the same description as Shackle ring, but does it provide break reaction boost as the Shackle Ring in main game?

      Yes it is identical to base game shackle ring, so it will boost break chance. Chain cap of 4 arts before upgrading, 8 after. (7 and 8 are still bugged and dont give any bonuses, and 8 is of course impossible.)

      You want the signifer master skill "All About Support", that's the one that lets you set an extra field.

    What would be the priority for the accessories? Like is it better to use the accessories for launch damage up or use the fusion art damage up one?, I'm still a bit confused about what accesories are mandatory or have better damage overall

      Ultimately the ones that say "boosts damage" are all additive in the same damage group so theyll all boost damage by pretty much the same amount. The main thing is each one has different conditions to be active. Launch damage is only worth it really for smash builds or chain attacking launched enemies since it wont be active that often, whereas fusion damage is active much more since you want to be mainly using fusions anyways. The best one that is always active is the ones that boost damage against certain enemy types, but the downside is that youll have to switch when fighting different enemies. Overall all the damage boosting ones are pretty interchangeable though.

      Yeah, it changes damage, healing, luck based events (reaction and debuff odds), buff / debuff / field duration, and aoe size.

      Attack mastery caps at 50% additive with all soul hacks, which is definitely on the lower end for how soulhacker can build additives, so I would generally go with underworld rage, which can very easily build up to 200% additive, and then supercharged which is a (sort of) independent boost, but that requires planning art usage differently of course.

    I think you are underestimating the power of completely negating aggro with the disperse bloodlust and the Swordfighter master skill. Spamming all you arts and doing massive damage without worrying about dying and losing your buffs, arts charge and any build up additives from skills (such as classes as FMJ or Incursor) is very powerful. Also if the healer is reviving you, they can't really support for the duration of the revive. They can't generate buffs, heal others etc.

    Why not use the "boost smash damage" accessory on that Swordfighter build??? Thankfully I also have a very powerful +115% launch damage ring :)

      “Boosts smash damage” is actually added in the same part of the formula as the smash multiplier based on time, so a 10 second launch already has a 1050% multiplier there, meaning bringing it up to 1150% or whatever with the accessory will do much less than just extra additive damage.

    Sorry if these has already been said somewhere, but is the "Increased damage on cancels" gem only supposed to be used on player-controlled characters? I'm pretty sure the AI doesn't utilize cancels. Thanks :)

      AI will try to cancel auto attacks into arts, but they will not arts chain. So It is still generally a damage increase on AI, but you are correct that it is much better on player control.

      But the number of places where the interaction of rare vs common shackle ring comes up is very unlikely. In a standard EG seraph it would have to be like flamelord + quickdraw fusion, the other 4 arts, EG, and then unfused quickdraw within half a second of the EG ending. Using any other art or just waiting half a second will correctly reset the buffer anyways. Personally I just use a rare as that scenario will probably never come up.

    Yumsmith is too low. With 3 Break Arts, it's a more consistent Breaker than Ogre outside of Chain Attack.
    I'm not sure if I'd rank Signifer under Troubadour. Resonant Flag is more important than Ring o' Roses, especially when Signifer can forgo any attacking Art.

      Yeah both are fairly reasonable changes. My logic with Yumsmith vs Ogre is moreso the raw break chance on enemies with very high resists, like 200 Cera's 110, where fury smash + vambrace make it a 69.5% chance to break per hit, where yumsmith will be 20% when not shackled. Using all 3 break arts brings that up to a 48.8% chance, 68.2% when shackled to 6. Also worth considering that the yumsmith AI is much better at breaking than Ogre's is. Overall I'd argue that yumsmith is much more reliable against enemies that have a low enough resist to consistently get breaks off on, whereas ogre is a little less consistent than yumsmiths peak, but works across the board. In retrospect though yumsmith prob at least deserves bottom of A, seeing as it has nearly as much player controlled build variety as seraph on top of the AI breaker. As for Troub vs Sig, I put sig that low just to showcase how it is objectively outclassed by the kevesi healers, but there is probably an argument to be compared to Troub. Also in retrospect that Lifesage placement is probably way to generous for a class that only heals.

    What do you mean you wished you could do absurd things in XC2 and take things down in seconds? That’s something XC2 does better than 1 or 3 imo. You can take out superbosses with a single chain attack at the start of a fight with a level one party using KOS-MOS, Mythra, Poppi QTpi, TELOS, Corvin, the list goes on. You just gotta know the setups and put the time in to max trust and everything

      Signifer is objectively outclassed by Soulhacker and the Keves healers. Soulhacker has both stronger buffs and consistent buffs, being the most valuable buffs of attack up, defense up, crit up, crit plus, fast recharge, and power charge. The best part of signifer is Resonant Flag, and any Keves class can use it meaning the three Keves healers can both pass buffs while still being able to heal.

      @@conorb.1901 Just because soulhacker has the potential to be better doesn't mean signifer is a D rank class. It takes some legwork so make soulhacker just flat out outclass signifer, which out of the box when obtained is busted since buffs in XBC3 are broken. The class signifer basically makes all encounters 2x easier even on hard difficulty, a class that changes the game that much isn't D rank and most of XBC3 community thinks the class is at lowest B tier.

      @TheRealAetherFlow yes soulhacker's good buff arts (except butterfly dust) and strength support are locked behind high level enemies, that doesn't change that the Keves healers are still objectively better than signifer as they can do everything sig can while not sacrificing any healing. I would argue that during a playthrough it's better to level sig on one character and then stick them in war medic or medic gunner with Resonant Flag and Aureole. I'm not saying signifer is bad, just outclassed, even before soulhacker is up and running.

    (Postgame Healer class) is better than War Medic; swap their positions on the tier list.
    Edit: Why is Machine Assassin in B?! It sucks! It should be in D!
    Edit 2: Zephyr is a better evade tank than Noponic Champion. Swap their positions. The non-positional break art is worth NOTHING when you realise Ogre is the Break class, which is also Agnian.
    And hearing you badmouth Zephyr hurts me.
    Edit 3: Guardian Commander should be higher. It has a masterable Topple art.
    Edit 4: That Damage Soulhacker build is objectively wrong. Why use the buffs? It’s not the buff build. You’re probably packing a Signifer anyway which is the buff class.
    The Wild Wave pairing is also wrong. It should be bound to Elimination Beam, not Transient Bond. Elimination Beam has a higher power multiplier so we use that.
    Aquaball is fine with Dragon Decree but it wants to be on the top art.
    Replace the buffs with Toxic Gas for another Power Charge and bind it to Transient Bond.
    Skills should be:
    Terran Warrior OR Aquatic Warrior if fighting in water.
    Attack Mastery
    Dangerous Claws
    Role Skill is Power Soul, not Strike Soul
    There. That’s the actual build.
    Edit 5: You show Swordfighter on Taion but it should be on Noah since his version of the class gets an upgrade.

      Lapidarist has higher DPS and faster recharge, yes, but War Medic still has a strong niche as a Power Charge passer. They are not that far apart in term of power.
      Attacker Soulhacker is good in Chain Attacks, but outside of it the slow attacking animation holds it back.
      Healer Soulhacker is Signifer on steroid. It provides multiple buffs at the same time, its buffs are stronger than Signifer's, and it doesn't even rely on RNG like Aureole.

      Did you listen to the reasonings for the placements said at all? I'd say their placings make since the more is known about the game. Also Edit #5 is void and means nothing when you realize that the builds are sorted by tier list order, so it happened to be on Taion, like how Sena's class lands on Lanz, also it's even pointed out you'd want it on Noah, but damage cap being hit anyways means it's not as important, just preferred. The Soulhacker attack build is just fine, maybe sure the Wild Wave pairing could be Elimination Beam, but overall the builds make sense, the buffs being there included. Also for Edit 3, why would it providing a master art make it be more worthwhile to actually use in the party? that complaint doesn't really make sense either

      Guardian Commander having a masterable Topple art should make it lower, not higher. The fact that it's masterable means that other classes can use it, meaning it's not an incentive to go GC above those other classes.

      To play devil's advocate, interlinking isn't really that useful in the post game. It's very safe, but you're going to outdamage the Ouroboros forms pretty easily with even a halfway competent setup.

      @@conorb.1901 Yeah Interlink is kinda like lucky 7 as well as Mythra in 2. It's quite strong and rather easy to use and setup, but if you're willing to hard optimize there's much more broken setup all over the place.

      @Xekorrible I would say less Mythra and more Pneuma. Mythra is a legitimately strong blade with some really nice qualities to her, namely Foresight and pierce on all her specials, while Pneuma being locked at E rank trust basically forces her into the support role because blades get a frankly insane damage boost from having higher trust. Both Pyra and Mythra will run circles around Pneuma damage wise.
