One of the reasons not to cancel Chain Attacks is because of Overkill Bonus. Overkill converts the Damage multiplier into XP multiplier, giving you tons of bonus XP if you keep attacking until the gauge is empty. So even if you're just clapping at a Volff, just maximize the attack as usual to get the most out of the XP bonus.
One reason I could see for cancelling a Chain Attack early, is the "threat" of over-leveling. Being over-leveled makes it take much longer to unlock classes, and Overkill mode significantly increases how much experience something gives - starting at 200% and then increasing from there with more Chain Attack actions. So, you'll probably want to cancel it pretty early into Overkill Mode, if not before then.
Cancelling chain attacks specifically exists so you have the option to exit it early, I.e. if you kill the enemy but still have a lot gauge remaining and don’t want to have to sit through the whole thing. This was a much-requested feature in 2. If it did let you keep the charge, it would absolutely break the combat system, since you would be able to use the first round of the chain attack extremely frequently which would have a lot of broken side-effects, like the stated reset for Interlink, or cancelling enemy attacks.
Yeah......but Overkill exists, so there's still no reason to cancel it. In fact, you most definitely want to continue the chain attack if you kill the enemy so that you can increase your Exp and CP gain.
@@eirmundgundnand9442 Yeah, generally you would want to go through with it, but further bonuses past 350ish% come a lot slower, so if you’re impatient like I am (or doing a speedrun) you might prefer not to watch another round or two of the chain attacks just for another measly 50%. Especially if you want to avoid overleveling. In any case, there still are a lot of reasons you might want to cancel it, even if situations where you would actually want to are uncommon.
@@eirmundgundnand9442 Problem is that overleveling in this game is a much bigger issue than it ever was before. If you're doing all sidequests you'll be level 50 before chapter 3 ends. It's so bad in this game that even if you're not using bonus experience, turn off overkill, etc do anything in your power to mitigate experience... that you'll still end up overleveled if you explore everything and do all sidequests. That's quite a hefty punishment for people who want to explore. Sidequests and exploration are major features of the entire franchise, so it's stupid that for this 4th game they screwed up the balance far worse than any of the previous 3 games. Heck, in both 1 and 2 they fixed it. And in X it was never an issue in the first place because level doesn't really matter much once you're around 20+ or so.
@@Rat_Reborn45 I don't know how true this is for later on in the game, but I'm currently around level 27 playing on hard mode and man... I'll take every bit of experience I can get just to not get my butt kicked 🤣
@@darynmiller5151 They interlink as soon as they hit level 2, or when one of the pair is about to die. There's a setting in Options > Game lets you change it after you've reached a certain point in the story, but that means you have to manually interlink every single time.
A thing to add about classes is that the grade a character has (from S to D) also effects how quickly that character can acquire the class. So if a character has a D rank with a class, they will take the longest to both level and acquire the class while an A will acquire the class the fastest but S will level the fastest and will acquire the class immediately.
I set up Noah's Interlink to be AOE focused, basically spamming between Dragon Tail and Bounding End, and would pop it a Lvl 0 at the start of fight. This dealt with most of the weaker enemies that come in large groups, especially during side quests that seem to love making you fight 5-10 regular soldiers constantly. I could consistently get 2 Mega Spinning attacks during that one interlink if I did it enough, and this handled not only most normal enemies, but even some of the blue elite enemies around my level. Would I recommend this in boss fights, no, but saying you should never interlink at 0 is false. What's the point of waiting for Lvl 3 if the enemy is 99% dead by the time you get there.
Pretty much any art with a quick cancel window to get the talent gauge filled I’d slam out my incursor combos right into interlink and then spam fusion combos and use each level 3 interlink to get 2 talent arts per use
Yep, this is my strategy too for mob groups and deals with them quickly. If I wait to get interlink Lv. 3 it just makes this kind of battles way longer. For single battles probably best to indeed go the interlink 3 route, but for mobs what you mention is the best most efficient route that I found.
Remember that interlinks make the interlinked characters not receive dmg, against a certain consul on early game with massive AoE dmg on hard mode it may be useful, also, it helps if you want to have everyone alive to start a chain attack (using Ouroboros defensively, doesn't matter if you have a super op ouroboros) seem like the best option (or to start combos with lanz), because characters alone already do enough dmg to handle any enemy on their way.
By the time I started chapter 5, I was honestly glad that I went back and explored and did side quests as much as possible, filling out as much of the maps as I could, because OMFG, at some point you will wish for being over leveled.
For the first one, about Eunie’s healing, I never use her as a healer tbh Once I unlock grays class, she became one of my best damage dealers, so I always use her with her dual guns, leaving Taion as my only healer. But dw I’m doing good so far. Edit: Lmao I made y’all confused. Lemme clear things up, I’m playing on normal mode. The thing is I’m a bit too overleveled because of the quests and grinding and whatever, so I don’t really require a healer in my group. And a 7th party member exists so…
Your comment fills me with fear. Granted I fought Chelle’s team 5 levels under (on Normal) and both my healers died before I’d even gotten through her teammates yet I still pulled through with two defenders, an attacker, and both Gray and Eunie for gun shenanigans that yes are kind broken at this point.
Yea I was using Eunie as a healer two until I got the dual guns. Shes way too good with that class to change her back lol. For now I've got Mio running healer as Thamaturge with Taion.
Some of the tips aren't that good. Interlinking at level 0 can be very useful for healing. Fact of the matter is that healers are pretty damn crappy at healing until a good ways into the game. Quickly going for an interlink and throwing out a healing art and then cancelling the interlink is essential early on for the tougher hard mode battles.
Even without bonus EXP I ended up overleveling to lv40 before finishing chapter 3 just by exploring and questing as much as I can, even going as far as to do hero quests 10+ levels above where I was at the time, which netted me much more exp than I knew what to do with. There’s so much to explore in this game compared to 1/2 that my wanderlust got the better of me and now everything in the story just gets rolled over.
For me is different. Usualy in xeno games something will get destroyed forever and quest for that part will not be possible any more. So i do all sidequest on my lvl that i can.
Level 55 and I just got to Colony Tau. Hard mode and grinding story to catch up difficulty. The double-edge sword of exploring: you out level the story fast. …I wish story content scaled with your party level.
I recommend in chapter 6 or before going to the final area in chapter 7, explore the game and do lots of side quests if you haven't already. The final boss is level 75 and you're around level 60 (or at least I was) by the end of chapter 6.
If someone were thinking to do that, I would recommend exploring the world after you enter the final area. Only because that opens up every single quest, and also opens up some parts of the world that were inaccessible before.
Not just speedrunners. But normal people too. Yes you get bonus XP for overkilling but overleveling can permanently lock you out of classes so you don't really need the bonus XP.
@@EskChan19 No it can't. Only until you beat the game, at which point you're allowed to set your level whichever way you want it. And given that each class is gotten on one character for free, you'll still have access to the class at least, just not on every character.
To be fair, once you learn the Cancel Art Ouroboros skill, you can just enter Ouroboros form immediately during normal combats and decimate every enemy within seconds.
There actually is a reason to cancel chain attacks, when you're hearing good music that fits really well with the fight, and then the chain attack music starts, the best, and frankly only, strategy is to press that plus button the first microsecond available
If you're someone that wants to learn and level up everyone's classes, I'd suggest #1 to be do not overlevel anyone(keep within 5 levels of the normal enemies in the area basically) until you finish the game or level up all the classes. And to piggyback off this, do not use your rested experience and you'll be off to a good start on this. Also, if you're looking for a good use for those silver Nopon coins, use them to level characters classes(especially the ones that are rank D).
This. You don't gain points towards unlocking classes if you fight enemies with grey levels. So if you're consistently overleveled you might end up permanently locking your characters out of classes
@@EskChan19 I don't understand this comment, aren't there unique monsters that are within the party's max level that would still reward cp? If so how would you permanently lock classes if you can farm them using their grave stones?
Still if you do all side content regardless of difficulty u get overleved but there's a solution, seeking out stronger enemies to level up classes is viable I've been grinding against level 80+ enemies when I'm only 73 (chapter 6 beginning) and it works be wary... You're gonna be 99 probably before u even finish the game
0:47 just noticed the weight of life is playing in the background I love that song and battle! vs Moebius also can't get enough of a step away Edit: beat the game and you get the level down function I'm using it to get the bonus exp that is multiplied if you level down so I can max out the characters level
A good reason to cancel the chain attack is if you are using autoattack and the ai chain attacks when the enemy is on 1hp, I've had this happen many times and it's kinda annoying.
I found healing with Taion/Eunie in either Oroborus form, as soon as you see the heal you can immediately switch to the other form and then immediately start healing again back and forth for very quick heals when you’re in trouble
Since the game doesn't explain it as far as I know, maybe it does on the training drills But to do the dodge thing, which is called quick move, you just need to run in a direction and press r3, I think you can do this as soon as you start the game but I only found out about it in the third area
@@AzureRoxe As I said in the comment, maybe it tells you somewhere and I didn't catch it, I personally don't check the tactic drills, plus it's an optional menu so if it's said there maybe other people also don't know, so I left the comment for those who were wondering
Personally I usually interlink right at the start of most battles with Noa, sure you will have a cooldown but usually the time it takes to reach level 3 is about the same as the cooldown. Also Unie can buff the entire team so it might also be good to interlink her right away and then buff your team like crazy. You are also immortal while interlinking so interlinking can also be a good way to save yourself if you are about to die no matter what level your interlink is. So yeah never really understood why so many recommend not to interlink right away.
Jb talking about how you can accidentally overlevel yourself. Me who walked into a level 19 story quest area at level 40: this is intentional, i suffered for this but i found it fun
Uhh the tip about overheating is nice and all but it really doesn’t matter if you’re only using lv 3 interlink since you’ll never hit lv 3 by the time the cool-down ends even though you can gain levels during cool-downs. (Though some busted build were you get lv 3 interlink stupid fast may exit and in that case do cancel the interlink)
Leveling down is unlocked in NG+. Which is a pain and a half given that enemies lower level than you give reduced CP. Your only option at that point is to finish off Unique Enemies with a Chain Attack, or for the desperate, farming Nopon Coins from Amiibo or (I have been told) enemies with Blue Tags. None of those options are pleasant. Especially the Amiibo option, as I have only pulled that off once, and I have not yet confirmed the bit with the Blue Tag enemies. I fully expect them to be specific late-game enemies, if it is true at all.
Blue tag enemies? If you mean elite enemies, those are pretty much everywhere, and are the ones with the blue swirls on either side of their level number over them, kinda like how uniques have an orange one to singify they're unique. Elite enemies are practically everywhere, just go somewhere with enemies and you'll stumble upon one in probably less than a minute.
@@karmiccrotal3480 Shalk gives you the Monado cosmetic, but beating the final boss and entering post-game unlocks it as well. Otherwise any three amiibo will do. This includes the Skylanders hybrid amiibo, the Diablo Treasure Imp amiibo, and those "amiibo" that came with that Mario Cereal all those years ago. Even that obesely oversized Detective Pikachu amiibo works.
what you should also do is go into the settings menu and turn off party damage displayed and enemy auto attack damage. It been SUCH a better experience since turning this off. Really, try it.
Fusing topple with a random art doesn’t nullify the effect? I’m not sure but I don’t think I experienced that Unless you mean fusing a daze directly into topple together I could see that not working out
Made a big mistake in this video. You SHOULDN'T overuse bonus exp. Your cp gains are directly tied to the level comparison between you and the enemy, so if you use bonus exp to level up you're also making it much harder to level your classes.
Yeah, leveling up is tempting at first until you realize you completely gimped your ability to level the classes, this trap caused me to scrap my 80 hrs in playthrough and start over from scratch lol
LMAO. U can max out all your cp easily on one island later in the game... just be patient. CP is capped untill later anyways as maxing untill rank 10 is easy mode... rank 20 is where it matters and trust me using bonus exp doesn't effect much in this game. Have more people use the same class and fight with a cp food buff.. spam blue and red monsters and u will think it's a joke how easy it is to level up. It's easier later in the game than struggling early.
@@EskChan19 U have 300% multiplier plus food and u can also spend silver nopon to upgrade classes so my point you won't struggle to get cp. This isn't like the previous xeno. U can max everything faster by bulldozing to the end and fighting on one of the many islands full of elites. Imo bonus exp is more useful to use early when u need it and struggle through fights rather than when u unlock certain classes and can auto farm because of how broken the system is. You'll know when u get there
Is it better to use non-combo arts asap or wait for the fused ability cooldown to use them together? Also, you mention that fusion arts combine together with their bonuses, eg. aoe art + non-aoe will hit all enemies as if both were aoe? Does it work with aoe healing and single-target damage abilities when fused together as well?
Yes there is a way actually although I think the option only shows up a lil later in the game (No idea why) but if you pause and go into system, options and game, there should be an option to change how the AI Ouroboros forms are used
Great video! I watched absolutely 0 youtube content until I beat the game, so I came here hoping for tips with the superbosses. I agree and actually applied a lot of the content here subconsciously theoughout my playthrough, and you even taught me a lot, i.e. Ouroboros role effects. This was very helpful, and I would recommend it as a good starting point for anyone looking to play this game. Good job!
I've been wondering: is it worth it to keep the "break/topple/daze/launch/smash at interlink lvl 3" arts? The only reason I could see for keeping them is if they work against Moebius enemies. Do they work against them?
@@EskChan19 Which can potentially be reduced through certain arts and accesories. That kind of thing trivialized XC1 (Topple locking) and XC2 (Poppi QT Pi's very existence)
Since overleveling yourself is so easy, and leveling classes feels like an absolute chore once your level is too high above the content you're currently at, I usually cancel chain attacks to prevent the overkill exp bonus which can ramp up to ridiculous multipliers
I find the best setup is 3 healers 2 tanks 2 dps (counting a hero in party). Only healers can revive (unless you wana waste a slot on 99 gold nopon coin item). ALSO -- ALWAYS HAVE A BREAK+ TOPPLE SKILLS MINIMUM!!!!
Is the dlc needed to recruit all the characters or can I get them just playing the game without the dlc? because I'm buying the dlc later and I halted on playing xenoblade chronicles 3 because of it and I really want to get all the characters especially Valdi.
Oh I check out the tutorial part of the menu all the time. Mainly cuz it annoys my neuro divergent ass when I see that little orange dot on my neat and tidy menu
Yeah, they significantly decreased the grind, as least on normal. I think this is so the game is more beginner friendly, which I can respect. I just entered Chapter 3, and might have to switch to Hard mode...
There was a comment that they only do it at Lvl 2 or when they're about to die. But later on in the game an option will unlock in the menu to turn it off. That means you'll have to manually interlink every time.
In the options you can set manual interlinking where you control all the interlinking manually. Then they won't interlink at 2 anymore, but you'll have to keep an eye on them because you will have to tell them to interlink when they reach 3
I canceled a chain attack early by accident and I don’t remember it being empty I thought it kept me a little bit of fuel? Unless I somehow filled it up really quick by chance But I thought canceling it didn’t negate all of it
A good way to break the game is to find an area with enemies that are 15 to 20 levels higher than you and murder them on easy mode for massive gainz. I started the game on hard and only did this after I reached level 30 but it’s kinda fun to explore a high level area and they actually put up a good fight if they are at least 15 levels higher than you(there is a bit of setup involved with classes, gems and good accessories tho). It’s a good way to farm classes then go back to hard and flatten those pesky uniques that might have given you trouble before 😅
Can you (or someone in the comments) explain in more detail how auras / stances interact with other arts in fusion pairs? The way you described it, it sounded like using an aura makes the other the other art's effects last for the duration of the aura, which would be absolutely OP with something like evasion during art. Could someone confirm?
As far as my experience goes fusion skills actually don't fuse as one might expect it to. It merely uses both assigned skills at the same time while only playing the animation of the regular skill bound to the B/Y/X buttons respectively. It's not like your aura will get the effect of let's say evasion during art, you will simply have the evasion bonus during the animation of your stance + the extra dmg the skill might deal.
NEEF HELP: I just got my interlink for every member, but I feel like leveling your interlink is SO FREAKING SLOW. It's reliant on fusion arts, which also charge incredibly slow because Kvesi arts. If I fight any boss, I don't have time to sip tea and wait until my fusion arts have charged my interlink enough, I need to prevent my characters from Fing dying (hard mode obv) so my question: How do I efficiëntly raise my interlink level during a fight? I currently JUST got Ethel and grinding her class before moving on with the story.
My biggest regret is taking on higher level enemies to level faster. By over leveling you miss out on a ton of cp and my God I have so many classes to master +_+ I hope there is ng+ with the option to reset my level cuz this is gonna be hell otherwise. Don't go after enemies higher level than you or youll end up in my shoes fast.
I'm only in the middle of chapter 4, but you can go to certain zones and refight more standard enemies, right? I'm level 60 and it's primarily from exploration and fighting everything I came across. If I wanted to, I can go to a section of the beginning area to fight 57-59 enemies.
to your comment on fusion of "giving artes with high aggro an aoe" thats NOT how fusion works. it doesnt combines both effects, it uses both artes at once, the first arte with the high aggro, if single target, is still single target, then the second art is fired right away without the attack animation (but also as described within the ingame tips stil uses original weapon stats like crit rating) you can easily see this in detail within chain attacks or when simply disabling team damage numbers to more easily see how many attacks you hit also, there IS a benefit from canceling chain attacks: you can use chain attacks for a easy healing and buff effect as they become global (aside from field buffs) alot of times I used chain in a pinch to heal everyone up in a 1 or 2 turn chain, not dealing too much damage to make sure i can use a second chain attack for a nice overkill
chapter 4, level 50 and i'm already overleved and i don't mind it (this game is going to be the end of me). Having a blast time BUT there is one thing i should also mention. Overheating. you already said the issues but i wanna say 1 benefit. even if you are overheating, you can still level up the interlink, so if you are adamant about it, overheating the gauge is just a means to and end (you shouldn't overheated though, since it's actually helpful to interlink an attacker to pull away the aggro and safe yourself from it. but something to keep in mind).
I dont understand the interlink leveling still. I use fusion arts all the time and it doesn't level interlink the majority of the time. Sometimes it does but maybe 10% of the time. What am I doing wrong?
I believe it's actually building up an invisible gauge. So you'll have to use several fusion arts before it goes up any. It helps to use ZL + Right on the D-Pad to make party members focus on Fusion Arts.
I’m at a point where I am +10 levels higher than the current story because of side quests and exploration ;-; and I have NOT leveled up through rest spots yet. Chain attacks go WILD for farming in this game
So, I got a few comments about some of the points in this video: 1. Using healers, while I don't really do it, there is a very good reason to use Healers manually. Their defensive AI is dumb and will stand with the pack getting hit by enemy AoEs very often 2. eventually, you don't really have a choice but to waste Fusion Arts since after the third unlock, you'll have 3 slots filled.... although you could easily just put a buff on your Important tech slot 3. two exceptions to waiting for Interlink: 1. preventing/delaying a character's death (of course that requires you to not be overheaten) 2. if you,re fighting a pack of shit mobs, most Ourobouros forms are good at killing that 4. No issue with the Chain Attack tip, don't ever cancel unless you're speedrunning and only if its optimal 5. Yup, that menu is useful AF 6. I WANT MORE DEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7. even the game warns you you should switch classes once you're at the Maxed Rank 8. Its a Xenoblade game, exploration is essentially required 9. Yes, you go to a special corner of hell if you do that. ALSO, additional suggestion: DO NOT use the Level Up function at camp, or if you do, do it SPARINGLY. Unless you do want the game to be easy.
Adding to that: Any grey leveled monsters (~5 levels under you) don't contribute to unlocking classes anymore. So if you overlevel yourself at camp it's possible that your characters won't unlock new classes anymore
I just wish it didn't say so damn long for the abilities to recharge in order to build-up to level 3. In most fights I am long since over before I even get to level 2. Really it's only when I'm facing elite enemies that I even get a chance to build that meter up! And then against elite enemies I've got no choice sometimes but to pop into interlink before my character's drop especially if it's my heelers. Trying to drag out to interlink 3 all over again.
I haven't even begun chapter 6 and I'm level 73 (hard mode),not even halfway done with side quests though I wanna do em in case of missables cause of games history with it also yeah... Chcking drills and tips is essential cause the game will not tell you certain mechanics
So what I meant by this is that by pairing an Aura/Stance with a fast charging art, the Aura refreshes so quickly that it never runs out and is "Infinite"

@@Rat_Reborn45 I don't know how true this is for later on in the game, but I'm currently around level 27 playing on hard mode and man... I'll take every bit of experience I can get just to not get my butt kicked 🤣
A pretty good tip is that if you are playing on hard mode even if you are 10 lvls above a boss they will still run your pockets
I did not understand how the interlink level worked up until now, good to know this for the rest of my playthrough. Great tips as usual!👍
My NPC's keep using interlink as soon as it's available. How do you stop them from doing that?
@@darynmiller5151 They interlink as soon as they hit level 2, or when one of the pair is about to die. There's a setting in Options > Game lets you change it after you've reached a certain point in the story, but that means you have to manually interlink every single time.
@@lolRNG Thankyou!
@@lolRNG yes and thats one of the best mechanics, doing the interlink manual is so satisfying
Switching around the arts so the AI doesn't waste useful reactions on Fusion Arts is a great tip. Doing that right now.
By the time I started chapter 5, I was honestly glad that I went back and explored and did side quests as much as possible, filling out as much of the maps as I could, because OMFG, at some point you will wish for being over leveled.
For the first one, about Eunie’s healing, I never use her as a healer tbh
Once I unlock grays class, she became one of my best damage dealers, so I always use her with her dual guns, leaving Taion as my only healer.
But dw I’m doing good so far.
Edit: Lmao I made y’all confused.
Lemme clear things up, I’m playing on normal mode. The thing is I’m a bit too overleveled because of the quests and grinding and whatever, so I don’t really require a healer in my group.
And a 7th party member exists so…
For me, having my 7th party member be a healer class frees up team building so much I love it
Your comment fills me with fear.
Now tell us, what difficulty are you playing in that ONE healer is enough?
@@AzureRoxe yea im playing on hard and with 2 healer and they will almost always die xD
I like the oroboros in this game
That with chain attacks gives great strategy and control to not die immediately in a tough situation
Hard mode has already baked a lot of these into me, but I did not know about Interlinks having secondary effects!
Same for me. I really wish we could level fown in the camps.
put on hard mode and do nothing but story until it's hard again
Level 55 and I just got to Colony Tau.
Hard mode and grinding story to catch up difficulty. The double-edge sword of exploring: you out level the story fast.
…I wish story content scaled with your party level.
I'm very close yo that now 🤦🏾♂️I can't help it, the exploration is just too good
I recommend in chapter 6 or before going to the final area in chapter 7, explore the game and do lots of side quests if you haven't already. The final boss is level 75 and you're around level 60 (or at least I was) by the end of chapter 6.
If someone were thinking to do that, I would recommend exploring the world after you enter the final area. Only because that opens up every single quest, and also opens up some parts of the world that were inaccessible before.
Hazy figure on Tactician literally carried me thru early game. Just standing in the circle makes you feel invincible on top of the quick cooldown.
I was similarly disappointed by not keeping the charge on cancelling a chain attack...
I think canceling chain attack will be useful for speed runners more than anything else as a time save.
although I feel like they'll rarely use the feature in the first place since it takes so much damn time to do properly....
Speedrunners will probably never use it since it WASTES time.
gives lots of exp though meaning less grinding
Not just speedrunners. But normal people too. Yes you get bonus XP for overkilling but overleveling can permanently lock you out of classes so you don't really need the bonus XP.
@@EskChan19 No it can't. Only until you beat the game, at which point you're allowed to set your level whichever way you want it. And given that each class is gotten on one character for free, you'll still have access to the class at least, just not on every character.
This is one of the few games where using the many different healers is actually fun.
This is the 1st video that actually helped and taught me a few things. The interlink only lvling through FUSION arts i finally know how it works lol.
Was looking for how the interlink levels went up in combat in the games tips and couldn't find SQUAT 😅😂 so Happy to know how it works now
To be fair, once you learn the Cancel Art Ouroboros skill, you can just enter Ouroboros form immediately during normal combats and decimate every enemy within seconds.
As someone who doesn’t have the game yet because I made a mistake with the addressing, I appreciate that last point.
0:47 just noticed the weight of life is playing in the background I love that song and battle! vs Moebius also can't get enough of a step away
Edit: beat the game and you get the level down function I'm using it to get the bonus exp that is multiplied if you level down so I can max out the characters level
Only reasons to cancel a chain attack
-You wanna move on to the next fight
-Thing is dead and you don’t want to overlevel
What's the name of the absolute fire song that starts at 3:16, I've been looking for it for the longest
You can basically do 2 talent arts at interlink 0 and do pretty decent damage if you have slow gauge and art cancel upgrade
Since the game doesn't explain it as far as I know, maybe it does on the training drills
But to do the dodge thing, which is called quick move, you just need to run in a direction and press r3, I think you can do this as soon as you start the game but I only found out about it in the third area
The game absolutely tells you about it.
@@AzureRoxe As I said in the comment, maybe it tells you somewhere and I didn't catch it, I personally don't check the tactic drills, plus it's an optional menu so if it's said there maybe other people also don't know, so I left the comment for those who were wondering
@@pralenkaman8105 No, it wasn't in the tactic drills, it was literally one of the main tip boxes that they make you read.

Fighting high level unique monsters with underlevels in dangerous.
Gotta build up for the big final battle to come.
Here is something that works for me ALWAYS HAVE 3 Healers
Taion's class is probably the weakest in terms of support and healing classes lol.
I intended to sell my Amiibo soon. What Amiibo work with the game?
@@karmiccrotal3480 Shalk gives you the Monado cosmetic, but beating the final boss and entering post-game unlocks it as well. Otherwise any three amiibo will do. This includes the Skylanders hybrid amiibo, the Diablo Treasure Imp amiibo, and those "amiibo" that came with that Mario Cereal all those years ago. Even that obesely oversized Detective Pikachu amiibo works.
Bro I just went "screw this, I'm going to use what I like" so I started using Sena variants
what you should also do is go into the settings menu and turn off party damage displayed and enemy auto attack damage. It been SUCH a better experience since turning this off. Really, try it.
I had Eunie dual wield guns as a meme and she turned into one hell of a glass cannon
Low level interlinks are incredibly useful for quickly killing weak enemies. It really speeds up easy battles.
Does anyone know what art-follow up buff does cause it's not in the buffs tip
Fusing topple with a random art doesn’t nullify the effect?
I’m not sure but I don’t think I experienced that
Unless you mean fusing a daze directly into topple together I could see that not working out
If I level up at a camp, do I lose the EXP I already had between levels?
No you do not, that EXP is still stored
@@keithelliott9376 You also need CP to unlock classes though.

Yes there is a way actually although I think the option only shows up a lil later in the game (No idea why) but if you pause and go into system, options and game, there should be an option to change how the AI Ouroboros forms are used
@@JBspherefreak Alright, thanks for the answer

I agree and actually applied a lot of the content here subconsciously theoughout my playthrough, and you even taught me a lot, i.e. Ouroboros role effects.
This was very helpful, and I would recommend it as a good starting point for anyone looking to play this game.
Good job!
I've been wondering: is it worth it to keep the "break/topple/daze/launch/smash at interlink lvl 3" arts? The only reason I could see for keeping them is if they work against Moebius enemies. Do they work against them?
They seem to be able to resist them for some reason but other times it works on them not sure how the mechanic works exactly
@@Nazzul It's just a percentage chance that sometimes they resist debuffs.

That kind of thing trivialized XC1 (Topple locking) and XC2 (Poppi QT Pi's very existence)

The overkill xp bonus also applies to CP tho. Massive overkills seem like the best way to get CP.
Dose anyone know how many fusion arts it takes to reach level 3 interlink ?
Eunie was born to wield two pistols, it feels.

@@JohnJRM yeah I tryed and even fuse with a buff art. At the end when I used Taion he cutt a bit of the attackers aggro.

Yeah, they significantly decreased the grind, as least on normal. I think this is so the game is more beginner friendly, which I can respect. I just entered Chapter 3, and might have to switch to Hard mode...
I usually use interlink lv 0 to fast end fights with weak but numerous enemy's.
How do I make the AI party members not interlink right away. They're constantly doing it and I don't think they are raising interlink level
There was a comment that they only do it at Lvl 2 or when they're about to die. But later on in the game an option will unlock in the menu to turn it off. That means you'll have to manually interlink every time.
Anyone know a way I can stop the AI from interlinking at level 2?
In the options you can set manual interlinking where you control all the interlinking manually. Then they won't interlink at 2 anymore, but you'll have to keep an eye on them because you will have to tell them to interlink when they reach 3
@@EskChan19 thanks I really appreciate it!
I canceled a chain attack early by accident and I don’t remember it being empty
I thought it kept me a little bit of fuel?
Unless I somehow filled it up really quick by chance
But I thought canceling it didn’t negate all of it
There is a level down function. Eventually.

Hey where are the level 90 + unique monsters ? Also can you make a video for this

to your comment on fusion of "giving artes with high aggro an aoe" thats NOT how fusion works. it doesnt combines both effects, it uses both artes at once, the first arte with the high aggro, if single target, is still single target, then the second art is fired right away without the attack animation (but also as described within the ingame tips stil uses original weapon stats like crit rating)
you can easily see this in detail within chain attacks or when simply disabling team damage numbers to more easily see how many attacks you hit
also, there IS a benefit from canceling chain attacks: you can use chain attacks for a easy healing and buff effect as they become global (aside from field buffs) alot of times I used chain in a pinch to heal everyone up in a 1 or 2 turn chain, not dealing too much damage to make sure i can use a second chain attack for a nice overkill

chapter 4, level 50 and i'm already overleved and i don't mind it (this game is going to be the end of me). Having a blast time BUT there is one thing i should also mention.
Overheating. you already said the issues but i wanna say 1 benefit. even if you are overheating, you can still level up the interlink, so if you are adamant about it, overheating the gauge is just a means to and end (you shouldn't overheated though, since it's actually helpful to interlink an attacker to pull away the aggro and safe yourself from it. but something to keep in mind).
why is there even the option to cancel chain attacks?
for listening to the moebius m battle theme, of course.
Medic Gunner is good though?
it’s not.
It takes about 5 Fusion Arts per level (but your partners fusion arts count too so sometimes you may need less because your partner already did some)
U need to cancel them
I’m at a point where I am +10 levels higher than the current story because of side quests and exploration ;-; and I have NOT leveled up through rest spots yet. Chain attacks go WILD for farming in this game
So, I got a few comments about some of the points in this video:
1. Using healers, while I don't really do it, there is a very good reason to use Healers manually. Their defensive AI is dumb and will stand with the pack getting hit by enemy AoEs very often
2. eventually, you don't really have a choice but to waste Fusion Arts since after the third unlock, you'll have 3 slots filled.... although you could easily just put a buff on your Important tech slot
3. two exceptions to waiting for Interlink: 1. preventing/delaying a character's death (of course that requires you to not be overheaten) 2. if you,re fighting a pack of shit mobs, most Ourobouros forms are good at killing that
4. No issue with the Chain Attack tip, don't ever cancel unless you're speedrunning and only if its optimal
5. Yup, that menu is useful AF
6. I WANT MORE DEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7. even the game warns you you should switch classes once you're at the Maxed Rank
8. Its a Xenoblade game, exploration is essentially required
Trying to drag out to interlink 3 all over again.
would like to see a more in depth video on the fusion arts.... im less then 15hrs in and im sure im just wasting my fusion arts
So, never play as a healer, always interlink at lvl 0, and never cancel ourobouros forms, I should let them overheat... got it, thanks for the tips.
I haven't even begun chapter 6 and I'm level 73 (hard mode),not even halfway done with side quests though I wanna do em in case of missables cause of games history with it also yeah... Chcking drills and tips is essential cause the game will not tell you certain mechanics
you definitely can over level easily. im barely into chapter3 and almost lvl 50. the enemies are all around 25-30 and im wiping them in seconds
I learned that first tip the hard way
Wait so if I stack a heal on top of an aura does that give me the aura forever or make that aura aoe
So what I meant by this is that by pairing an Aura/Stance with a fast charging art, the Aura refreshes so quickly that it never runs out and is "Infinite"
@@JBspherefreak I do not understand this still, don’t they both cool down at different speeds and don’t most stances have like 30-40s cooldowns?
the second one was actually helpful. How to keep AI from using skills.
I'm in chapter 4 and I'm already lvl 42. Everything in the story is still lvl 29...
I’ll add one more, you shouldn’t overlevel your characters because you will have a hard time grinding class points mid game.
Yea there is a reason to cancel a chain attack : if you already killed the opponent…
No, Overkills are a good thing.
