I think you missed the Pudding Safety Act 2021, section 2.1a "It is unlawful to carry a spoon or any other item modified or adapted to function as a spoon, with the intent of eating pudding." and section 2.1b "It is unlawful to carry a spoon or any other item modified or adapted to function as a spoon, regardless of intent, while being on premisses where pudding is, on balance,, expected to be present. For example, bakery, restaurant, restaurant, pudding aisle in a suoermarket."

    Why was the belt arrested?
Because it held up the pants!
I took a stab at selling knives, but I just couldn't cut it.
I tried being a lumberjack but I couldn't hack that either.

I’m afraid there’s no other choice, you’ve seen the effects of spoon crime in London these past few years…

I'd like to think that the person who trowed in the spoons just didn't know how to dispose of scrap metal properly and thus binned them at the closest location, that being the 'amnesty' box. In my area, garbage bags for plastic and metal waste are quite thin, so while you're supposed to put in hammers, Nails and the like, they would simply tear. Maybe it's that kind of problem. Honestly, if I had a box like this near my place, I would yeet my dull box cutter blades in there. Imagine the looks of the guy who has to fish out a huge pile of unprotected razor blades out of that box.

Good point, I had wondered if someone maybe did it as a troll, if they did that's pretty funny, but for the police to actually post it online and suggest that coin be dangerous weapons, well I'd like to know the reasoning behind that.

None if this stuff is illegal per se. They can't say it's an amnesty, there nothing that would be amnestied here. If they had banned items that you now can't keep home, then OK, but even so it wouldn't keep streets safer, it would just avoid people being getting in troubles for a crime the parliament just created.

you're absolutely right, even the bayonet and swords shown here are absolutely legal to own. and it's foolish to think that surrendering knives stops crime, what about the many millions of kitchen knives in the country or in tool boxes.
I think you're right tho, what's to stop someone useing a knife in a crime, then putting it in a knife bin.
