Beginner Cajon Grooves - The Evolution
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 3 มิ.ย. 2024
- A beginner cajon lesson and training session that helps you learn and practice the most basic rhythms in a simple, step-by-step way. Each cajon beat is a very slight evolution of the previous one so that soon, you'll be able to play through the whole 33 minute exercise with ease!
I'll play you each groove at a medium tempo and you can control the speed for your own practice. Go extra slow for your first session. When you think you've mastered the grooves, try increasing the speed bit by bit.

It can't be any better than this! I never thought I'd be able to play. Thanks
This is exactly the kind of comment I was hoping to read. Have a great day and also give my Intermediate Groove Evolution a try when you're ready. Remember, you can go as slow as you like.
This is the perfect video for all the beginner cajon players out there. All the grooves sound just the perfect amount of simple. Great quality of sound, the recording ha been done so good! And also very right framing of video. Keep it up with this amazing quality as always. 🙌
Thank you again mate!!! I really appreciate you ⚡️😁👍
Intermediate level drops on Friday night!
I did everything on the first try, let's get some advanced grooves
Good work! See you on the next upload (most likely on Friday this week or next).
Great beginner instructional!!❤
Thank you!
This is amazing! Thanks for this :)
Happy to help!
Love this! Fantastic groove work out. Can’t wait to do the intermediate one tomorrow! Thanks dude. 😎
So glad you’re enjoying it! I hope this helps your practice routine 👍

That’s what I’m here for! Glad you liked the lesson 😁 Going through this session more than once and at different speeds will also help a lot fully absorbing everything. Have fun!
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Good stuff.
Thanks heaps!
Thanks lot my mentor ❤
Happy I could help 👍
Good to see you again dear percussionist ❤
Thanks! Filming again today.
Thank you very much for your comment. My hope was to make the smoothest possible increase in difficulty by bringing in the left hand accents once the student has become comfortable with counting and feeling time.
It’s very kind of you to say that. Have a great day!
I love the sound of your cajon. Your link takes me to a series of MEINL Artisan models… What is the exact model that you are using in the video?
The name of this one is “Fandango” AEFLIH. If you have any other questions, let me know!
@@rosslmccallum Thanks a lot!!
Would love to see you demonstrate the sensitivity of that Meinl, compare it to other brands.
Same!
תודה!
Thank you so much for the support. I hope you enjoy using this video!
Thanks for the great lesson. Two questions -
1) Are most of the accents and the Bass beats supposed to be on the RH itself?
2) Could you please do videos on technique and how to make the instrument sound good/producing good tones?
I’m glad you liked the video!
1) No, there isn’t a rule like that but for beginners’ rhythms, playing accents on 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & keeps things simple to start. My way of playing is generally RLRL RLRL all the time so just the timing of when an accent needs to be played determines if it’s a right or left hand.
If you like the format of this video, listen to or play along with the next level one and you’ll get many more interesting combinations of right and left hand accents.

2) Yes, I would like to make a standalone video for getting a great sound with your hands. I think everyone’s hands have their own sound, so I want to make the video about “finding YOUR sound” rather than “achieving THE sound”. Or maybe a balance of both. I’ll slowly work on it.
If you have any other questions, let me know!
Love it ❤ saved on chio, thank youuu - wish to collab with you 🙏🏼
Thanks for watching!
How far did you make it this time _/50?
50 lol. With skip. Just curious at the end
Intermediate version of this coming soon.
What an excellent lesson. In addition to the variety of grooves, it models how even simple grooves can be beautifully musical. Thank you!
☮️🙏🎵
