    Nearly 20,000 subs. That's great, Nathan.
    Great meal, great review.
    That second main is called plov, which we better know as pilau rice. There is a Kazakh proverb that is something like "In Kazakhstan, everyone eats plov; the King eats only plov". There are more varieties to this dish than a cat has hairs, as it features in the cuisines of basically every country from Azerbaijan in the west to India in the east, where it morphs into the much spicier variants of biryani. I think the dish originated in Persia/Iran. The meat that is usually used is some type of sheep/mutton or goat. Beef could be a regional specialty for Belarus.
    Jam and paté? Sounds weird enough to be great. Now I've got to try it. Pashtyet (Russian for paté) with apple jam would also, logically, be a winner.

    "If you build it, they will come." Your channel is becoming a phenom. In spite of the bottom feeders, with their assinine commentaries, the viewers with who have possession of their faculties appreciate your no-nonsense, BS free, objective reviews. It allows the ration collector to get vital information in order to avoid purchasing sub-standard MRE's. One final note, if you're from the Mid-West, you pronounce English according to the dialect of the region. If someone from another region can't understand this, they're idiots. (I'm from Sout' Jersey and I murdah da Kink's Inglish. We eat Peetza, Sof' Pretzils, Scrapple sammiches, and Cheez Steaks wid Cheez Whiz, ongyuns, hot peppahs, ana attytude... We drink Yinglings (Yuenglings) beer ice cold, so yous can bite me!....Go Philly Iggles!) 👍👍✌✌

      Yes Fred I have broken a few troll hearts lately, the channel is gaining at a rate of 2400 subs a month, I might do some more donations to smaller reviewers and helps along some starting out, starting out is rough and we all know youtube sure is not going to help those guys out, EVERYONE that is serious about reviewing rations deserves a fair chance ,if I can use my platform for that I will, thanks for watching Fred and stay tuned there is alot more to come!

    Add your "beef stew" juices after trying the "dry" rice on its own.. have some creativity with how you try and mix and match these please. You operate off an "expected" meal. I would bet rarely these are eaten as linearly as you make them.

    Great ration review! Just a quick question. I have seen several American ration reviewers use bottled water to make up the drinks. Do most Americans mostly drink bottled water as opposed to tap water? I am asking as in England I live close to a reservoir and our water is quite clean and enjoyable especially for making diluted drinks. Is it due to that or is it just easier to use a bottle on hand then constantly go to the sink to fill up a jug?

    • @charlesadams1721
      @charlesadams1721 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DayZOfAmaZe: according to the US EPA and surveys, along with usage records, the vast majority of Americans drink tap water. Tap water is required to meet drinking water standards and are tested and reported on a daily basis, multiple times per day. Bottled water is not regulated by the EPA or any state of local standards, except where the bottled water is sourced from a municipal water source. Those that drink bottled water do so because of convenience and/or personal impressions of 5he water. There can be significant differences in taste of water due to dissolved minerals in the water that cannot be removed entirely, even in advertised RO water. I’ve tried absolutely purified water used in high level scientific experiments and if is not palatable as the is absolutely no taste.
      BTW, Federal law requires the inclusion of a disinfectant, with a residual in all public water supplies, to try to insure that pathogenic organisms cannot be carried in the public water supply.

    • @NathansMRE
      @NathansMRE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our tap water here in Missouri smells and tastes like bleach, seriously thinking about a reverse osmosis filter system, I have not seen any American drink tap water in prob 20 years

    • @charlesadams1721
      @charlesadams1721 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nathan's MRE: the issue with water tasting and smelling chlorine in the water is a low level of chlorine, not too much. If you study chemistry or talk to any chemist, they’ll confirm that. I’ve lived all over the east coast, and traveled out west, and the predominate means most people use to consume water is via tap water. When you cook, do you use only bottle water? When you make coffee or tea, do you use bottled water? If you add up all the people in the US, bottled water producers account for a minuscule portion of those consumers. BTW, the water bills of most beverage producers are huge. The percentage of bottles possessing RO treatment plants is also tiny. The beverage producers saying they use spring water from outside there area is laughable, as they have massive water bills, but no tankers coming in from out of state.
      Water is water, the taste comes from the substances that it contacts, which is why some wells taste great, some wells are actually poisonous. Water is called the universal solvent. If your local water tases terrible, talk to your water provider.BTW, bottled water has been subject to numerous recalls, due to contamination after someone (or some family) has been treated for an illness. Not all bottled waters are created equal.

    • @NathansMRE
      @NathansMRE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reverse osmosis is the only way you will ever get clean drinking water, the only way I drink faucet water here is through a PUR filter to take the taste out, tap water is risky these days just ask Flint Michigan lol

    forget the knife wheres the assault rifle you should be cleaning while your meal heats up? ditch the razors in favor of the assault rifles bayonet. what happen to the asian kid that just got off work from the base, taking his daily rifle home to clean with a free ration from the base to do an mre review on. i guess he got the ban for any number of reasons. he never spoke a word. just made sure everyone knew the FA MAS was there as he enjoyed his mre, often using the bayonet as a spoon. i mean if your gonna point out the knife, and require it shown,. then yea how is there not an assault rifle constantly on the screen?
