  • This review is a super rare ration from Belarus. Each of these have an actual seal serial number which is a first for me! I do not have any information for this other than what is posted on MREMountain.com website. Thanks to Casey for snagging these and Blackdog Bob on mreinfo.com for hooking me up with this particular ration! Awesome! If you want to see more Subscribe. Not sure why people are saying that rice and beef is not a form of kasha. The hubs is Russian and he says kasha literally just means porridge so it can be any grain and whatever else you want to throw in.

    Flameless heater for cans. WHAT???
    Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

    That strawberry scented wet napkins had an arrow in the middle of the package. This is where you suppose to open it to take one by one without damaging the package and keep it wet

    I also bought one of these from MREMountain, and it was very similar . The difference between yours and mine was as follows. Stove and matches, chocolate bar, two of the warm drinks and no regular drink and two coffees. The mains are about the same, I got chicken you got beef. But all in all you review was very helpful in identifying the contents of my ration. Thanks for the great review and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

      The one I ordered, from MREmountain, did not come with the twine or blue seal/serial number. I received a stove and matches, no FRH type heaters. It does appear like nothing was missing, as far as i can tell, though I'm not sure why mine was not sealed. I'll compare my items to the ones shown in this video.

    • @gundog4314
      @gundog4314  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The ones with the Stove are called Gen 1 and the FRHs are Gen 2's from what I heard from MREMountain. It's the only real difference aside from a few menu choices. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!

    Those chocolate filled sticks are either pralines or pirouettes. You can find them in big cans at pretty much any store that carries sweets, I think.

      They're common in Poland too and you can get them pretty easily in Ireland and England. They're really tasty, they're not quite just chocolate, there's another taste to them, they're lovely.

    nice don't see too many from Belarus. Wow this looks awesome. I love those crisp breads, and can't find them in stores here anymore. Yes that is a LOT of grouts and beef, but that is ok it is delicious. Nice a canned ham that isn't a massive salt block. Lunch looks delicious I would eat that in a heartbeat. Anyone who says there is no such thing as Rice Kashi has never eaten Russian rations, I find the rice one to be much oilier than the buckwheat. Overall a great looking meal heavy on the meat low on the veggies my kind of meal lol. Thanks for the great review.

    I think people are saying you can't have rice kasha because in English kasha means buckwheat. In Central and Eastern Europe, though, it refers to a dish that consists of grains boiled in milk or water. So porridge, basically. Just a misunderstanding, probably.

    I wonder if the MREs are reduced. I recently had Menu 22 Asian beef Strisp. It had a snack bread, chunky peanut butter, apple jelly, cocoa drink in a pouch. A small pack of skittles type sour. The accessory pack had Base lemonade powder, the moist, iodized salt, gum and the typically TP.. No bar or anything else. No Coffee.

      @gundog4314  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been saying it for years....there seems to be little rhyme or reason of how the components are supposed to work together. I think all they care about is "x" amount of calories, proteins, carbs & fats.

      I'm thinking it all depends on the type of ration. A simple one meal ration is doable but man these really big 24 hour rations with 50 things in them really eat up a clock. There is some merit speeding up the plating process since I talk about everything when I'm sampling it. Guess time will tell. Cheers Rob, Hope you had a great Xmas!

      gundog4314 I completely understand. I guess I like the old way because that's when you tell stories or jokes trying to fill the time. It's always entertaining (to me, at least) when you go off on a tangent or tell an old story (like the chip in the coffee mug). Either way, I'm a loyal fan and I'll always watch what you upload. There are two versions according to MRE Mountain. The Gen 1 is a stove kit and the Gen 2 are the FRH. Personally I'd prefer the stoves with canned stuff so it is more evenly heated.

    Belarus is like up their with Azerbaijan for 'most Authoritarian post-soviet' state; but amazingly this might beat out a few of the French/Italian ones.
    If Italians are the only soldiers to come back from combat weighing more than going in; Belarusian ones prob solve general hunger whereever they're deployed.

      In contrast to the United States, Belarusians do not fight outside the country. The army, albeit large, is designed to protect its own territory. Of course there are special units, but they are trained to procure food in any conditions. And these rations are meant for regular urgent service.

      You can call me strange, but I like my unboxings au-naturale. Hope you enjoyed the food at least. I'm not certain why you called the buckwheat groats though.

    Belarus is one of the most secluded countries in Europe and you got a MRE from there. Nice. Also gundog do you also wait till lunch, dinner etc. To eat it like steve or do you save it for later.

    I miss how you talked, explained, and walked us threw step by step. Not a fan of the music I prefer discussion it makes it feel like your connecting with your audience. The music makes it feel like a cookie cutter video. I love your channel so I'm not trying to be critical of you just trying to give constructive feedback so please please please don't get upset.

      If you watched the final thing on the vid you could guess which way I'm leaning for the future, although there is a time and place for something like this for something like this to make it more manageable to watch instead of a full length feature production that would take an hour to watch. So, its a toss up or back to 2 Part vids. Cheers Ryan!
