This legit almost brings me to tears. I can't properly phrase the joy I get hearing an artisan present their work. The pride, the time, the trials...I don't know enough about automotive engineering to call myself even the base level of a "car guy". I just know what lights my eyes up...Koenigsegg's journey and ingenuity do this every time.

I first read about Christian Von Koenigsegg and the CCX when I was 19 in the November 2001 issue of Car and Driver. Never thought I'd be watching a video of him 22 years later showing off a 2300hp hybrid 4 seater. Massively impressed by his long term success and passion for developing his cars.

You can’t help but admire Koenigsegg for continually pushing the industry to the edge of whats possible. Those Dark Matter engines are so far ahead of anything in the car industry, and that’s just a piece of this car.

Am I only one who finds these hyper cars boring and super ugly? The engineering behind those is cool and it must be extremely fun toy if you can afford it but imho they are just ”meh”. If you have seen one, you have seen them all.

@@kopmis you have no clue about what are you talking about! i work as a mechatronics engineer for one of the most prestigious car manufacturer iin uk. first, it cost us about 2 million to just design test, and build an instrument cluster! these types of manufacturers like this one is more like tuners lol them engine is from Ford and most of the parts are not theirs! If Bugatti which sells more and at similar prices ...they lose money on each car as it doesn't cover the cost of build! for crash test they had the same car crash and rebuilt again to be carshed for different safety tests ...which is a bit questionable as when we build a prototype we crash about 5 to 8 cars to make sure that we covered every bit ! we bring cars from different manufacturers and we take them apart to see how other do things .. like Rolls Roys, Bentley, aston, Lamborghini,i Ferrari, lucid, tesla, Bugatti etc but never a Koenigsegg cuz we don't believe they have anything worth looking into.

The relationship between them is profound, every now and then Koenigsegg drops a cool hypercar and James gets an in depth review of the beast machinery, I'm here for it. Also u dont see other CEOs so passionate about their product like CVK is (exc Mate), have to salute that.

What an absolute masterpiece... I'm in absolute complete awe. You can tell that every single piece of this car has been thought out properly. The mirrored arrow type pattern with the carbon fiber though the middle of the car is jaw dropping... my god.

I'm so glad I found this channel; I think I've binged watched all the Koenigsegg videos in a few weeks lol. I love how enthusiastic Christian gets when he's talking about the cars. It's always nice to see him trying to push the limit.
We don't have mass shifting tech yet, but the Gemera has to be the closest thing to that idea ever seen in real life. Coming out of the trunk really puts into focus how much room there is back there and to think is also room for 4 adults and all the mechanics wrapped into this amazing shape is mind blowing. This car is an engineering marvel, and it is beautiful to look at. Well done, Koenigsegg. Well done.

The advanced way Koenigsegg engineers the cars is phenomenal. I love the 1:One, the new Jesko, and Gemera. Some of my favorite modern cars.
This is such a ludicrously beautiful car. That green with the gold rims... just iconic look. And the shape, everything. They really pulled out all the stops on this. So very spacious inside as well for a top shelf hyper/mega car. They're always so small and cramped.
Hats off to Christian, He appears to be an unstoppable force in the supercar game! Seeing how far he and his team have came from the CCX styling.....WOW just WOW.

When I saw the Agera in the NFS movie in 2014, I fell in love at first sight. I had never heard of Koenigsegg before that, so it was completely new to me, and it’s what really got me into the car scene. I was a little worried at first that they would just become another supercar brand, making 20 different models with no significant difference, but seeing each new car be on a whole different level than the last is insane. Every other brand just puts out the same car with different styling cues because its too risky to try anything else, but Koenigsegg goes balls to the wall with everything. “If we restructure the rear, and redesign the whole engine and transmission, we could fit a v8 in here” is something that other company’s would just turn into a whole new car, but something you’d never hear from any other supercar company is “If we redesign these parts, we could gain a few more millimeters of clearance for luggage space.” An absolute madman, innovating on anything and everything. Never change

This would be definetly the only supercar exotic I would buy if I had the money. Mad respect to Christian and his group of engineers who are innovative, creative and extremely talented that can produce cutting edge technology in a vehicle.
lol this is not a mere supercar exotic, this is a megahypercar.
I already felt that way with the 2020 announced version with Direct Drive. I still LOVE the idea of that, but have to concede that the new way of doing it with a single and very light e-motor, 9spd gearbox and now V8 option is just the way to go. I still want a car with the old Gemera layout, but it might be a simpler car, tuned down a bit. Crank down top speed (a lot) and a light 4-seater that's more like an M3 Touring (drivetrain full swapped front to back) or Cayman.
Now with the lower weight, larger tank (THANKS for understanding travel and car ownership comfort) and V8 option (go super loud or go crazy economy with the 3-inline?)...it's only gotten more desirable.
4 suitcase now all in the back, no need to open the front hood. Will one fit there still for the 3-cyl version?
Maybe there's a bit less EV range? But worth it to get all the other goodies. With this quick 9spd it will pull so fast... It would be perfect if it could also get the CC850's 6-speed manual addition.

max budget/team is the most hidrance in F1 rules regulation, the engineer at F1/team could basically do anything to make their car faster as long as the budget is enough.
Koenigsegg is inventor/entrepreneur/seasoned engineer/car enthusiast/humble man. He really achieved his desires and dreams. I am really little bit envious knowing millions of us will not get the opportunity to achieve this level of success in the world of monopolies. Edit: second most underrated part: THREE seats with Isofix! Jesus. The engineering work to get that certification done is IMMENSE.

@@mouzVID true lol. I just meant in terms of certification for WORLDWIDE crashworthiness and human-safe usability. The standards required for car homologation are WAY more stringent than people realize. Engineering a giant compartment behind the engine while still keeping the crash structures intact is an even bigger achievement than the original dihedral helix door hinge was, and that particular feature defines Koenigseggs to this day.
Just insane. I always love the interviews with CVK and James and Koenigsegg shares so much detail I feel like some of these videos aren’t long enough. I’ve seen the Jesko Absolute, Jesko Attack and the Gemera when they were first going around as press cars and you will never ever get over seeing a Koenigsegg. @@RobertkajmanRimac Nevera is an amazing car but it’s an electric only car and Mate is quite literally an understudy of CvK. Bugatti is just an effort in putting a massive engine as many turbos and 68 radiators as possible into a Luxory Volkswagen. Porsche are great but also so overrated. What’s a boxer engine compared to this?
The complexity, novelty, and elegance of the engineering in this car can easily outclass any of those three.
@@adamsteinhardt6393 Boxer engine is a masterpiece and is much better than this in EGG. Bugatti putting W16 weights around 2 tons and still accelerating blisteringly quick and is also a comfortable and luxurious GT. It is a huge achivement.

Even if you remove the two extra seats, it's STILL the most innovative performance car out there. Even the previous incarnation with the Direct Drive, rear engine for FWD and a 3 e-motors to top it off, that would still be the top innovative car today if they'd not scrapped it for the 1 e-motor version with 9spd standard and V8 option and larger tank. Such relentless absolute best effort engineering and design.
Wow, what I can say?
This car is a miracle of design and engineering at the highest level I ever seen, and I am from Italy so I live ,feel and smell super cars on the streets every day, but nothing could be compared to this miracle.
I cannot think of any road vehicle more advanced than this. I may never even get to see a Gemera, but no doubt it is projects like this that push the entire industry forward

That's the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. Even when it had a 3 cylinder I've been absolutely infatuated with the whole concept of this car. By far the most underrated exotic on the market. Tell Koenigsegg I'll take mine in dark blue.

Same here! Since i saw it the first time...i was blown away! The 3 cylinder engine was already insane but now with the v8 in it... it's for sure the craziest Hyper-car to date!
Rimac is nice too but seeing a hyper with 4 seats looking like a coupe is other worldly! I will take a fully exposed carbon violett one or a smaragd green one!😂

Amazing car but im most interested in his new "dark matter" electric motors. The size and output compared to say a tesla drive unit from a Plaid.... Pretty insane. If he can (or has) designed a cost effective way to mass produce those, the EV market / World will be turned on its head. 800hp, in that size, with the ability to put them pretty much AT each drive wheel, is absolutely immense game changing tech.

@@calleaero I guarantee you if Doug demuro reviewed the same car, the video would be much better quality. He will not only describe the specs, but he will go over every button/feature of the car and explain what it does. He will sit in the front and back seats as well as rate the seating practicality. And to top it all off he will actually take the car for a spin. After you watch his videos you will feel like you actually have owned the car yourself.

If the CEO is actually excited about the company and what they do you will see them at every turn instead of some representative or a engineer that know's most of what he can or can't say or let us know. I enjoy Christian and his enthusiasm. He truly loves what he does.
This man just with his personality and excitement and the way he interacts with everyone is such a great down to earth type of guy. Someone you feel comfortable talking to.
What a fantastic piece of engineering from front to back, inside and out. Love the colour too. Best thing for me - I can fit roof racks to it for the weekly run to the hardware store!

I could listen to Christian talk cars all day. He is so passionate and knowledgeable about all their developments and it really shows. Really can't think of another CEO that even comes close to him.
Part of the genius of this man lies in how he can explain game-changing engineering and make it both enthralling and understandable for a layman like me. This company doesn't just improve on what went before, they reinvent it! A standing ovation to the team at Koenigsegg. Phenomenal!

I mean, for this type of car yes it's very practical. But to say it's a practical car in general terms is just plain false. Not that it might be a problem, since those who buy it aren't looking for practicality in the first place.
I loved that previous openness of the whole space inside so what A turn-off now that enormous bump between the backseats ... a faux pas really, one has to lean forward to communicate.
Christian does not cease to amaze me with his combination of knowledge and his ability to explain the components as well as being a skillful salesman at the same time. I would love to work with one of these geniuses. He is 1 in 100 million truly, for me.
Seeing his vision complete, CVK has restored my faith in auto design and the truly wonderful V8 engine which I hope never goes out of fashion.
Such a pleasure to listen to this guy every time he explains how they achieve perfection... The only regret i have is not being able to buy every product he makes. Hats off to you sir ❤
